Genuinely coos county's best kept secret. Not fancy, 100% hole in the wall vibe and the waitress is an interesting character, but the food is fantastic. Nice bright yolks on the eggs, super crispy back on and generous omelettes. My son said it was the best French toast he'd ever had. read more

I've lived in Coos Bay for a couple of years, but I had business in coquille so I stopped for breakfast. Uncle Randy's restaurant is a bit quirky. There are a couple sections to it, one being a sit down restaurant. There's also a pseudo ice cream store. There also appears to be to be some type of pizzeria and a sub sandwich shop as part of the premises. It's a little confusing, especially since the confusing signage makes it look like there are several restaurants under different ownership/management. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette and coffee. The omelette turned out to be a "rolled "omelette, where they spread the eggs out very thinly on the grill, and then roll them up with a spatula. Somewhere along the rolling process, they toss in the internal ingredients for the omelette, in this case, cheddar cheese, and what appeared to be a couple slices of whole bacon The hashbrowns were crisp, but were strangely uniformly square,, like a preformed, hash brown patty. Both the omelette and the hashbrowns were greasy, and I didn't finish either one. The English muffin that came with the omelette was nicely buttered, but not really toasted. It was pretty much a couple rounds of warm, buttered bread. I sometimes use a bit of ketchup on my hashbrowns, but it took three tries at different tables to find a ketchup bottle with anything in it. The other problem with the meal was the price. I eat breakfast out a lot, I know what the price of breakfast is from Florence down to Gold Beach, and these guys seem to be about three dollars more than everybody else. Even a basic coffee is expensive - four dollars for what is essentially a fairly weak drip coffee. I could accept that price if we were talking an espresso made with good beans and some flavoring, but four dollars is about 25% more than everybody else I know who serves breakfast. It was a nice experiment, but I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Since moving to the area in 2021, I've been here for breakfast twice and lunch once. Both simple breakfasts I ordered were great. The calzone was very good. All wait staff in Coos County is much more personal than professional. Here is no different, an independent in a small town. If you've been around, you know where you can expect excellent service and where you'll be disappointed if you do. Again, I've enjoyed the food here. read more

I felt compelled to speak up when I saw the only reviews shown were mediocre to bad. Not my experience! This is probably my husband's and mine's favorite restaurant. Sure its prices are a little up there, but have you looked around? Barring fast food, any comparison yields very low prices compared to anyone else. But the food?!! Try the lasagna. You can get it ready to pop into your own oven. It's wonderful if you love home cooked meals. We are still newby's at the restaurant but everything we have tried (burgers, sandwiches, breakfast) has been fresh and flavorful. Also, I've tried an un named Italian restaurant in a nearby town and I won't go back. Hubby's food was frozen. I hope this helps someone. read more

Not a fancy place, but good, tasty and well prepared meals. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. Randy, the owner both cooks and serves customers. He is very friendly and personable, always checking in on how the customers are being treated. The prices are very reasonable. Randy cooked a Thanksgiving dinner that was superb. This place is SPECTACULAR!!! My brother raved about their $26 ribeye breakfast steak that comes with THREE eggs and a TON of hashbrowns and toast, so we took him there for his 63rd birthday. There were five of us, and we all ordered the same ribeye steak breakfast, and we were all totally blown away by how good it was! The steak was seasoned just right and charred to perfection. The eggs were perfect, and the hashbrowns were nice and crispy. Their coffee was really good, too. The owner was so nice, as was our waitress, and the chef and other employees. There seems to be a lot of bad reviews for this place, but the new owners actually just took over in November of this year, so the bad reviews are from previous times. The worst food (yuck) service was very rude and crude ( employees flipped me the bird) . Had the worst nachos there, hardly any cheese on it, after asking for more cheese they bought it out after we almost finished the nachos. I sent the cheese back because the meal was finished. Second time here and service was just as bad. Waited 50minutes and I counted one other table occupied with a group of about 12 in the back room. Saw the waitress one time in the 45 minutes while we waited. No excuse for this. She seemed overwhelmed. Last time. Food is a two out of five. It is a weekend and you should have more than one server. No utensils when food was brought. Had to ask. Sandwich was more lettuce and bread.
