    Clam chowder supreme

Came here with some friends while on a trip around PNW. We all ordered versions of the Clam Chowder. I got the Clam Chowder Supreme. I liked the chowder, but I enjoyed the Marionberry Crisp a lot more. Service was friendly, but slow. At the end after waiting a while we ended up going to the counter to pay our bill.

Excellent restaurant. This place is super easy to get into and is very popular. Menu items don't come out fast because it feels like everything is made from scratch to order. The service was amazing and our server was fun. We had the clam chowder, the crab cakes and the seafood pot pie. The pot pie was like molten lava (so be careful if you dig in too soon). Flavors were good and there were larger sized pieces of potatoes that weren't perfect cubes, so I know it was homemade. The clam chowder was excellent and not as bacon-forward as some are. The crab cakes were ok, but lacked flavor. Portion size was excellent at three crab cakes for 16$ the dipping sauce was excellent and adding lemon also made a difference. We ordered a marionberry crisp Ala mode and it was good, but they should have called it a crumble rather than a crisp. It was a sugar and cinnamon rolled out crumble. We wouldn't hesitate to return. They have a full bar and it appeared their boozy brunch is also very popular.

Last night the family decided to head to Reedsport to have some delicious dinner w/ great desserts. There are only a few good restaurants in Coos Bay that have delicious food & delicious desserts, but we wanted something that was not the usual, as this was a special occasion for my son's straight A's. Mondays & Tuesdays in Coos Bay & North Bend are disappointing, because many of the best restaurants are closed on those days. Not the case w/ Harbor Lights, they're open on all the days. I loved their smoked turkey sandwich & their Marionberry lemonade; I could probably eat that daily. The kids loved their pulled pork sandwich & hamburgers. They have friendly, great service each time we go. It's been impossible not to be a glutton here. I had cheesecake for dessert & a peanut butter pie to go. I wish they still had their lava cake, but they have plenty of other options to choose between. I'm looking forward to the next trip already.

Absolutely amazing clam chowder! Brilliant to put crab and shrimp under melted cheese! The halibut was perfectly cooked, not greasy and light. Great service too!

I recently visited Reedsport and heard from the locals that This restaurant was the best in town, but I was highly disappointed. Firstly the service was barely friendly. I ordered the BLT w/ fries and my mother ordered the HL Burger which she ordered Med/well. My BLT was average at best and I could not even taste the Pesto Aioli. The fries were just ok. My mother's burger was Med/rare. But the waitress was by herself and the restaurant filled up so we felt kinda ignored. We did not complain. My mom did have the Onion rings which were good. I probably would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, not very friendly, mediocre food, too expensive for the quality. Honestly, Dons Diner down the road is far superior.

Harbor Light Restaurant was absolutely delicious! The clam chowder was so good -- truly the best in town. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, and the overall experience was fantastic. Highly recommend!

I haven't Yelped anything in ages, but had to jump on here to review Harbor Light. I took my sons (7 & 11) camping at a nearby park and we picked this place for dinner one night. We loved it so much that we went back twice more, for a total of three visits in just six days! Every single thing we ordered was outstanding, even the sides. Best brussel sprouts I've ever had. Both of my kids (one of whom is a picky eater) said it's their favorite restaurant ever.

We stopped on our way to Yachats for our mom's wedding and all the food was delicious and quick. The servers were so friendly and made sure all our needs were met. The homemade spaghetti bolognese (current special) and the home made mac n cheese was my favorite. We also got the barbacoa quesadilla (current special), BLT with avocado, and fish and chips all delicious. Our wonderful server also provided us cider we loved and a Marionberry crisp on the house due to hearing about our mom's wedding and wished her the best. It was absolutely the sweetest and most amazing Oregon hospitality we've know and come to love.

Great food but the over the top signage across the street may give you indigestion. Nice enclosed patio for dogs.

Finally, with friends visiting from Washington, we made a special trip up to Reedsport, just to try it out. Best dining experience for a long time, for each of us! We called in for reservations, and the host nabbed us a table by the window, with an incredible view out across the bay. Upon arrival, Ron greeted us like we were family, and promptly offered us a tour of this very unique facility. The remains of a retired Coast Guard cutter, the entry way brings you into what looks to be a steel galleyway. Portholes peek through to the bar area and dining rooms. Up top, guests can reserve a private dining room, built from the original Bridge Cabin of the ship! Ron's original artwork adorned the walls of the place, and were quite unique - definitely adds to the decor. We sat down with the menu, and were pleased with the excellent variety of items available. We started off with the Clams Portuguese appetizer, and all LOVED it! In my opinion, it could have included a few more wheels of the Linguica, but the flavor was perfect. The drinks menu was very inviting, but considering that we were all extending our Dry January tradition, opted to try them on another visit. For our main course, my partner ordered the Beef Stroganoff. Being an aficionado of this dish, and having her own special recipe herself, she really loved how the flavors blended. Our guests ordered the Spaghetti di Frutti di Mare, and the Shrimp Louis salad. Both were delicious! I requested the Huckleberry-glazed Salmon, and was delighted with the consistency. The turmeric rice side dish was fantastic as well. Our favorite item was the Flowerpot Bread - a dense, two-toned baked roll, with a crusty shell. Very nice for wiping out all the delicious sauce residue from our meals. The parking was just a minor challenge; it is shared with the restaurant next door, so we ended up parking in what seemed to be boat trailer spots. Fortunately, there were no boats coming or going that evening, but it could be dicey during salmon season. We will definitely be back soon, however, to try out some of the other excellent-looking menu items!

We will return when summer winds down. So, please give them some grace.) My earlier post: First of all, we did make reservations since it is summer and quite busy this time of year; and let me say I have been to Kismets three times before and I was very happy. We have recommended it to several people we know, and brought our friends to dine last night, July 2nd. We were so disappointed. And we were embarrassed, having talked it up to our friends. Things started out okay; our waitress seemed young and possibly inexperienced, but we were okay with her lack of personality (no smile, no enthusiasm.) We had wonderful Brussels sprouts appetizer and the sushi roll was perfect, very beautiful to look at and equally delicious. I won't fault the guy who made them. But to begin with, we were given the small containers of wasabi and pickled ginger and chopsticks but no individual plates to enjoy the appetizers or sushi, and our waitress was not anywhere to be found for at least half an hour, but probably more. Our dinner finally arrived one hour and twenty five minutes after we had been seated. It was mostly good, but the huge lag in time and apparent indifference of our waitress really took the shine off the entire experience. My kismet tips had lovely flavor but was not evenly hot; for instance, some of the mushrooms were cool to lukewarm. My greatest gripe is the absolutely terrible service though. I cannot comprehend how the owner could be present in that room the entire time we were there and hardly looked at us at all and apparently was unaware of how poorly we were treated. (Was our order lost? why on earth did it take so long to be served?)

Last night we celebrated our 45th anniversary and sat in the main dining room, which is very pleasant. We had the most wonderful waiter; he and the owner seem to work together seamlessly to make your drinks and take care of your every need. We started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts which was an appetizer I remembered fondly from a previous visit. I'm usually not a fan of that vegetable, but I would order them time and again! I chose the Kismet Tips which was delicious, and my husband had the Petite Beef Tenderloin Steak with Mushrooms and his was done to perfection. Sides of vegetables and mashed potatoes were good too. We shared New York Cheesecake with fresh strawberries for dessert. It was made fresh in house by the owner and it was a lovely ending to our meal. I'm an experienced home baker and cook so I will admit, I'm sometimes hard to please; no worries at Kismet. The food is excellent from start to finish, and the service impeccable. We live in Florence, but we will certainly be back and we'll likely bring family when they come to visit. This restaurant is such a gem, and not to be missed.
