This cafe is great! We try to plan our Toyota services around meal times. This visit was lunch. Today's soup du jour; stuffed bell pepper was a warm bowl of delicious goodness. Made from scratch and served with a toasted slice of GF bread. The staff is friendly and the place is clean, dog friendly and no trace of automotive smells or noises. I appreciate the padded chairs and they also have comfy leather-like living room chairs to sink into.

I've never been to a restaurant in a car dealership. But hah kudos to them for thinking outside the box. It doesn't feel out of place. The sitting area transitions smoothly into the waiting area for the dealership customers. Reportedly lot of dogs come by but I have yet to see one. Menu is pretty simple and straightforward. I tried the philly panini with chipotle mayo. Was quite good. Will be back again to try other dishes. got a free latte with my yelp check-in!!! read more

I love the atmosphere of this place. All of the girls work very hard to provide us with good food! I suggest the philly as a panini, and the cubano which is good warm or cold! They also have the best lattes and mochas around they come in hot iced or blended and all three are delectable read more

Interesting concept! Breakfast or lunch while your car is serviced. We came in based on a yelp review, and were impressed. Fairly limited menu with sandwiches and breakfast, but the food was fresh and tasty and service was friendly Bring in your doggies! What a pleasant surprise! Fabulous little cafe in a car dealership! Super friendly with people and well behaved dogs are welcomed! While we enjoyed our sandwiches, we were informed the dealership also has a dog run, lots of dog treats and even a children's playroom. The cafe itself is very roomy with rocking chairs, fireplace, tables and comfy posh chairs to melt into with an excellent mocha. Definitely we will be returning. We didn't see any chips for our sandwiches so that's our only suggestion to have available. read more

Totally weird, and pretty ok. The latte was good, bagel and cream cheese, good. The breakfast plate not so much. I think they scrambled the eggs in 10W 40 ... Biscuits and gravy pretty typical blah, but the sausage patties were alright. Stick with the pastry case and you'll be alright. I gave an extra star for the service. A great quick meal stop. We were driving through and I needed a quick gluten free option which is often hard to find. They offered egg sandwiches with gluten free bread. Great prices. Not overly flavorful or exciting, but I'm always grateful for an easy gluten free stop. They also had gluten free cookies, we did not try them however. read more

Breakfast in a car dealership?! Well, we just went with it, and what a great little place. Two full breakfasts with coffee and bacon for $11.00. Fireplace, easy chairs or regular tables, unusually friendly staff, good bakery items all home made. Don't let the car dealership location put you off, this place is a winner! read more

This is a nice little cafe located inside Coos Bay Toyota. I didn't have anything to eat, but the sandwiches I did see looked great. The espresso was excellent. The chairs are comfortable, which is nice while you wait for your car to be done. The staff are very friendly as well. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Most would never think of stopping at a Toyota dealer for brunch? We did last Tuesday and WOWSIES !!! Exceptional live music and well traveled man playing his resonator, but only on this day. Free internet and you can bring your dog(s) inside, there is fresh water for them and even a fire hydrant (but there is a large fenced-in grass patch outside)!! The energy in here is so happy and all the staff have big smiles on their faces. The view is amazing if you wish to turn away from the entertainment. They have a variety of sandwiches both bfast & lunch. Will definitely go again and again.. read more

I'm a big fan of the Smiling Dog Cafe. We actually look forward to servicing our Toyota as a good excuse to dine here. I love the sandwiches, my vegetarian wife can always get something delicious and the kids have yet to complain. Speaking of which, the play room for the kids is great. read more

Love this place! Stopped by for lunch, hard to find because it's in the Toyota, but so glad we took the chance! Simple menu, salad and panini sandwiches. It didn't come out super fast, but we didn't have to wait forever. Just fresh yummy food! However, if you are not a fan of dogs, this may not be the place for you. They had two adorable labs walking around. We loved them :) great for lunch! read more

Best Philly Cheese Steak in Town! Who would have thought in a car lot... With everything being so friendly for having your dog with you, I know I am going to take great advantage of the car wash even when my dog is with me. Great place to go when you are unexpectedly hungry and don't want fast food junk but your dog would not appreciate your feeding yourself while they wait in the car... The people are super nice and they had cute corgis running (well, waddling) around. There were some comfy chairs and it seems like a nice relaxing place to hand out. The coffee was okay, but really hot. I burned my tongue a little. Not the greatest coffee in the world, but an enjoyable place none the less. We are a full service Cafe inside Coos Bay Toyota on Hwy 101 in Coos Bay Oregon. We serve breakfast and lunch all day. We have Panninis, Salads, Soups, Waffles, Wraps, Ice Cream all made to order. Every thing is freshly made daily right here. Established in 2012.

When Guy and Lee Hawthorne were designing and building their new Toyota facility they thought it would be great to have a "stress free zone" and cafe right in the store. The Smiling Dog Cafe was born. Why "Smiling Dog"?, well.... we have been dog friendly for years, so the name was coined by Summer Buckman, one of our Information Center assistants. It has become the "Center" of our new facility. With 47 employees and a constant flow of customers into our new Express Service Quick Lube Drive, the cafe stays busy all day. Lee Hawthorne has been in the auto industry for 46+ years and has owned Coos Bay Toyota for over 33 years. Understanding the importance of innovating for future consumer needs; from online presence to new customer oriented processes and express services, brother Guy and he have expanded the business from the original 9 employees to 47 today to ensure a quality customer experience. Just wow. Who would expect such a wonderful place inside a dealership showroom?! Came in to check it out since they had such great Yelp reviews... not disappointed :-) I ordered the Caprice Twist a sandwich with turkey, cheese, pesto and tomato. I had mine grilled. Nom, nom, nom.. I've been back 3x already and everything has been completely delicious and the staff is very friendly. They bake their own treats on-site and I noticed some beautiful (and delicious) red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting Thursday and they let me special order 3 dozen for an event the next day.
