Was here on Thursday night for the BOGO Burger special and it was excellent! We ordered the Americano and the Bistro burgers and they were both large, well cooked, and the house made chips were delicious. It was a beautiful spring evening and we really enjoyed being out on the deck. There was live music inside, and we could hear it well from the deck while also still being able to converse. Service was great - There was a mixup with my drink and the server took care of it immediately. Our server checked in on us frequently, and was polite and friendly. Food- I really disliked everything I ordered a bowl of seafood chowder for appetizers it was so thick and bland in flavor for my meal I got the chicken wings hot honey I asked them for well done they were definitely not well done, the hot honey flavor taste like barbecue sauce nothing like hot honey maybe a make change would be fitting for that sauce, I also got the southwest salad it was okay I really enjoyed the dressing. My friend ordered the green apple & pecan said with Cajun chicken she really enjoyed the said it was really good, but the chicken came out plain so they had to remake it as Cajun chicken and it cane out completely burnt so she didn't eat it. Food: the brussel sprouts were actually my favorite. Had a nice sweetness and were really crispy. Wings crispy, but taste wasn't outstanding. Bao buns weren't bad either. Table was right next to the serve station, so we had good service. Extras: decent parking lot. Mostly high top seating, but also has other seating as well. Not impressed.. came here with a few work friends to catch up and have lunch..We were greeted and seated right away as it was not busy at all.. employees seemed to be "around" but our service was pretty slow.. there were a lot of flies out on the deck area.. so it was hard to enjoy the beautiful weather. I just feel like this location was not as good as Warwick, which I've been a few times and always had a great experience.. I will give this one another try though because I understand there are "off days" . I ordered a southwest salad with crispy chicken. Chicken was delicious but salad was soggy after just a few minutes.. fries were cold.. others at my table had both good and bad comments about their orders as well.. just unfortunate to have a negative experience here with friends on our day off. Great place to be! Live music, and a gorgeous restaurant. Plenty of parking can be found around the restaurant. Server and cashiers are all extremely friendly! They're very attentive and that's awesome in a space where it's busy and can be potentially packed. Food was awesome! They have a menu that switches throughout the day which is very creative. They also offer live music that are covers of popular songs from what I've heard. The music isn't always playing so if you're not a fan of loud music or genre choice you don't have to expect it every time you go; I on the other hand truly enjoyed it. The scenery is creative, whether you want to sit at a high top, a booth, the bar, there are so many options of different seatings that serve so many different vibes. It's worth a try. Went in for the BOGO burger Thursday. When I ordered the Americano I asked for no onion or sauce on it. The waitress told us we couldn't do substitutions or add ons. I wasn't doing either, just taking off 2 items that couldn't just be taken off after it would have been delivered to me. She didn't even say "let me ask if we can do that". She just dismissed us. We ordered a shared appetizer instead. The funny part about this is we were here exactly 2 weeks prior and when I ordered the same burger with no onion and no sauce, that's exactly how I got it. I think they are a little too much with making up their minds before considering all the reasons a person could sound down or out of it or "different" .. especially when it's hot , I hadn't eaten, I was running errands all day, driving, stopping here, stopping there, then I had to go court to pay speeding ticket I got going to work. And was happy that went well & I even got in because there was as a bad accident on 95N. And door was locked but someone got me in and the judge was laughing, not mad at all.She didn't think I sounded different... at all. So I walked out smiling , that was done & went well, my legs started aching a bit but I was finally feeling like the old me again.... so I decided I would head to the trap to enjoy an hr or so outside sipping on a drink, decided to do a shot and the whole time they were deciding what kind of person I "am" & what they thought of me. And that's where it ended up. The Trap in East Greenwich! I've never had a problem, shout out to Alex and I believe Steph, it's been so long I forgot names! And the dude always bobbing his head and singing and dancing serving drinks!! I'll def come back there. Soon as 7-8pm hit I was in car with man in passenger seat and my legs were killing me. The everyday things that people do. ITS DIFFERENT FOR US. I walked in and out of some stores and court for my little speeding ticket, and at the trap and because of fibromyalgia , my legs were aching so bad I was ready to cry. LEARN ABOUT DISABILITIES IF YOU'RE GOING TO WORK WITH PEOPLE YOU DO NOT KNOW FROM A WHOLE IN THE WALL......That walk in and look completely normal, but you have NO IDEA WHAT COULD INTERNALLY BE WRONG. And what i experienced and how you handled it and treated me should be a lesson for both of us. read more

We hit this place on Sunday afternoon, around 2pm-ish. I like to off times and miss crowds. The queer-o-meter is a 10! Thanks Trap for allowing a comfortable place for all. Onward... it's loud. Country music belting out from the speakers and lots of TVs with various sports and cooking shows on. The acoustics are pretty good so even being loud I could still talk to my wife and not feel like we were yelling. I'm old, those things matter. We got fried mozzarella, the tofu bowl and the americano burger with tots. I don't have anything negative to say! The portions are good sized, the food was fresh, hot and delicious. I suppose my only "con" is the tots are $2 extra - they're good but as a substitute for fries for $2 more seemed a little much. And if that's my only food complaint, we're doing a-okay. The server was SO nice a really nice young woman. She handled taking back and redoing a mojito with utter pleasantries, and made the situation/drink right. Also a huge plus in my eyes. All in all we'd definitely go back. OH there is one other con: the high booths in back are brutal to slide into and out of. I can't imagine how a group sitting there would handle it. How does a restaurant like this not have a changing table? I love the Trap for its food and music and overall vibe but they were not baby friendly. The hostess didn't understand why we couldn't sit at a high top with a car seat and was irritated when we needed an alternative. We saw about 4 babies around the restaurant and were so surprised to find no changing table in the bathroom. It is something so simple that a restaurant like this should absolutely have! We stopped by the Trap on the way home from the theater. We asked not to be seated at the bar or the high top tables. Decided we wanted something on the lighter side and we ordered the salad. What a salad, lots of feta cheese ,candied nuts and apples. While many places have a salad that mostly greens with a hint of other things, this salad was chocked full of all the things that make a salad interesting and filling. On Valentine's Day afternoon, the cowboy ribeye we shared was kinda tough, which we learned when they didn't give us steak knives; the Meiomi wine we ordered was misheard as mayo, which came as a side, and the waitress didn't know what we were talking about when we ordered gyro meatballs to go as "yee-ro." But we had a great time. The Caesar side salads we started with had a flavorful dressing and a crouton cracker we broke up into crumbs ourselves. The cheesy baked broccoli-cauliflower casserole was terrific, much better than we expected, with a stellar cheese sauce. The handcut shoestring fries were soft and sweet when hot. Finally came here for food instead of just drinks and the food was pretty good. I came with my parents on their "Wing it Wednesdays" where you buy one drink then buy a pound of wings, but get a pound free. 1 lb is $11 and you get 7 wings. They were cooked perfectly and quite large. I love their sauce options, I got Gochujang and Honey Hot, then my mother got Buffa-Q and BBQ with her sauces on the side instead of dressed. My dad bought a regular burger for $16 and said it was pretty good. It did look a little small to me and it was mostly bread though. My beverage was a holiday spice bear because they didn't have shipyard pumpkin head available and it wasn't that great. It tasted too light, kind of like a Bud Light. However, my mother got a cider beer (not angry orchard) and it was fantastic! All this for $56 is really good and I'll be back soon to try the nachos. Very friendly service, open and fun space. I got the Trap Burger, and it was very good. I ordered it medium and it was truly done medium. Next time I'd order medium rare because the meat was really good. The toppings were all fresh and tasty! Tater tots had so much oil!! They were good and fresh and crispy, just a LOT of oil. Matt got the "all you can eat pasta!" First gnocchi with bolognese which was very tasty. Nice and light gnocchi. The bolognese was also tasty. The chicken on top was underwhelming, so second serving he got Strozzapreti with bolognese again, no protein. The pasta was cooked perfectly! Nice surprise for a tavern. Decided to try the new trap north on a whim for dinner on Father's Day. Great location and the decor, for what they're trying to accomplish in a restaurant like this, is outstanding!! The little sayings written on the wall are entertaining to say the least! Nice drink menu, decent beer menu that includes some local craft and even some cans from New England breweries. I got an $11 can from VT, which is a little steep but understandable given it is a restaurant. It was, however, a little old with some coagulation of the proteins and no canned date on the can. I had the green goddess chicken sando and it was really good. Chicken was cooked perfectly and bread wasn't over toasted where it tears up the roof of your mouth. The tots were unfortunately greasy and soggy, rendering them inedible (hopefully just a bad batch). Wife had their chips and they were really good. Kids both enjoyed their meal as well. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were greeted and seated promptly without a wait at 4:45. When we were leaving around 6:30 there was a wait despite some open tables so I'm guessing that they're probably looking for more servers like everywhere else in the service industry right now. read more

The inside has several TV's, a stage for live performances, and a good-sized bar. I've been here twice, once for brunch and another time for dinner. Brunch was very basic in taste and presentation. I enjoyed my dinner but the rest of my group was disappointed with theirs. They have plenty of cocktail and beer options. The staff was friendly both visits but seem to be inexperienced. read more

Three words: Slow, Mediocre and Expensive. Wasn't impressed when this place first opened its doors, and my recent visit was not any better. The Trap continues operating basically as a sports bar serving high priced and low grade pub food. Couldn't find anything that I would consider to be fresh-made on its menu. Took almost 15 minutes to get my beer. Two waitresses struggled to keep up with a pretty busy dining room while managing a "brunch" crowd, as well. Not their fault. Clearly a staffing problem. The manager was seen walking around but not lifting a finger to help. My order of fish 'n chips, $21.00, was not very appetizing. The fish had a strange taste and odor that, I think, was the result of a long stay in the freezer. The coleslaw, swimming in whatever dressing they used, was mushy and had a heavy taste of mayonnaise. "Tooth pick" type french fries were overdone and greasy, but the ketchup was okay. My visit yesterday was my first and will likely be my last. We made reservations for 6 and were not advised of the available seating arrangements in advance. When we got there, we were going to be seated at a table with high-top chairs with no backs - very difficult for two of us in our 70s. Thankfully, our server was able to find our group a more comfortable table outdoors. Perhaps because there was a function going on in the lower level, service was extremely slow. We love the trap! My kids and I lived 1/2 mile up the road. I would order take out and walk summer nights, walking up to the sound of live music and great food. I decided on the PEAR & QUINOA Bowl: Red & White Quinoa, Dried Apricots, Fresh Pear, Arugula, Goat Cheese, and Candied Pecans, with Green Goddess Dressing. I added grilled chicken. Every ingredient was fresh tasting and delicious. One friend ordered the BANG BANG SHRIMP appetizer as her meal. It was a generous serving of Tempura Shrimp dressed in a house made Bang Bang Sauce and topped with Scallions and spicy peanuts. She was nice enough to share and they were amazing! Another friend settled on the CATCH 22 NACHOS, which included toppings of chili, a cheese blend, chopped tomato, sour cream, guacamole, Jalapeños and black olives. The first time I had ever been here. It's pretty new, but they do have another location in East Greenwich. We were lucky to get seated at the bar for four of us since the wait time for a table was 30 minutes. Honestly, I love sitting at the bar anyway. The place was pretty busy and the parking lot was packed. However, you can park next door at a vacant business. My short rib grilled cheese was phenomenal. The picture doesn't look that great but trust me it was delicious, As well as the Caesar salad, and the fries. One of my friends ordered the nachos and she really enjoyed those as well. I ordered two margaritas on the rocks and they were served in a tall glass and for nine dollars each. It was definitely worth it and they were very good. The menu is expansive so you're definitely going to find some things that would suit your taste buds. I will definitely go again. On first glance it has a nice ambience, modern industrial with wood paneling and metal accents along with a good beer selection and a variety of upscale pub foods. But when you actually get your food, it's just ok. It lacks in seasoning and flavor. On our last trip there they also forgot to put our food order in and when they finally did, it was after brunch hours so they had already dumped their brunch offerings and served us a benedict with no hollandaise. Granted they did comp the food because they forgot it, but who serves a benedict without hollandaise?? We came back to get the missing things. The manager was not around and there was no apology whatsoever. We returned home and had our cold food. I recently hosted my annual holiday party in their downstairs room. It was one of the best parties I've had yet! From the start, the communication with Erin in planning to when we walked in and met Justin the manager and his team on that night.
