    Baked chicken

A very big complex. A huge gift store. A bar area with seating reminded me of American legion hall with keno. A big dining room and another area for larger groups. Helpful and friendly staff. Very engaging. Family style dinner that comes with a bit of everything in white bowls. Baked chicken. The dark meat falls off the bone. The breast was a bit dry. Both were tasty. Pasta shells with a good tomato sauce. A mixed salad that looked and tasted close to sell by time. And two cold buns per person with cold butter packets that made it difficult to spread. It's all you can eat. But if you only have one serving you're able to take leftovers home. Drinks other than water were extra as well as ice cream for dessert. Overall a good experience. Priced well. Ideal for large groups or families with similarly large appetites.

family friendly establishment, great food, great & friendly service! From start to finish the salad, pasta, fries, chicken & rolls are delicious & also all you can eat so be sure to come with an appetite!

This was a spot I visited a bit as a kid, and on a quick trip home this weekend my father suggested it as a dinner option after picking me up at the airport. Sadly it didn' hold up to my memories, or maybe my tastes have just evolved, either way it was a bit disappointing. Forever they had only ever served chicken meals, but at some point in my absence they added steak. Pricing is high for what you get. Yes it's all you can eat (chicken only, but not steak), but $20 for all you can eat broasted chicken, fries and randomly pasta is a massive profit margin for the house. The food was OK, the chicken was a bit greasy/slimy , the fries lacked much flavor and the pasta with jarred sauce wasn't anything to write home about. Waitress was friendly and attentive at refilling waters and seeing if we needed any additional food brought out. The interior could certainly use a facelift, it definitely hasn't changed since I was a kid, still like dining in a nursing home dining room. Overall, it was a let down, and I doubt I'll bother to return.

    The main entrance.

A Rhode Island staple. True score is a 3.5. The good: Plenty to eat, the fries are great, quick/attentive service. Could use improvement: The chicken can be dry and sometimes lack flavor. Salads need some more dressing. Weak cocktails- but let's be honest you are there to eat, not drink.

It is what it says on the menu. Nothing is worth going here unless you like mediocre food and feeling like you're in 1950.

The restaurant is small (only seats 48) so reservations are recommended. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, there wasn't very many people while we were there so I'm not sure how loud it gets when busy. They have a full bar so I ordered a drink and my husband loves his craft beers and they had a few (but he always prefers if they have a beer menu so he can read the beer description). For appetizers we ordered shrimp cocktail and the meatball. The shrimp and sauce were delicious, and the meatball was HUGE (we almost could have a meal with that!!! The meatball came with lots of sauce and ricotta with 2 toasted bread slices (we devoured every bit!). For dinner we shared 2 entrees, we got the seafood casserole which came with choice of side (we picked baked potato) and a vegetable medley, and the southern fried pork chops that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious we ate what we could and had to bring food home. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable of the menu. This was one of the best places we've tried in a while. We eat out at least weekly and most places we don't go back for a second visit, but Lucky Dog Tavern will definitely stay on our rotation of places we love.

Our server, David, made the night even better. He was attentive, upbeat, and genuinely kind; an overall great spirit with a fantastic attitude who elevated the entire dining experience. David even brought us some of their popcorn, which was so delicious and such a fun extra touch. We loved the food, we loved the service, and we will definitely be back; highly recommend.

It has almost a cult-like following after reading the reviews. In my experience, everything I have ordered was okay ... but nothing incredibly amazing vs. the price. I have not seen higher menu prices outside of Manhattan. Two sandwiches and one beer came to $78 after the tip. You read that correctly ... a burger with fries, a pulled pork sandwich with side salad and the cheapest draft beer on the menu ... $78!!! The wings/tenders were over $20 ... in fact, other than the side upgrades, nothing on the menu was under $20. If you are charging $25 for a 'diner burger' and fries, it better be an amazing burger. Mine was no better than Five Guys and less tasty than a Shake Shack. Given the prices, one wouldn't expect that you'd get potato chips with your burger. In order to get French fries ... it's a $5 upcharge. A side salad is $9. I don't mind paying more for quality ... and Blackie's quality is probably high as their meats, vegetables, potatoes, etc. all list the origin place. However high the quality is, for me anyways, the food doesn't seem much different taste-wise, than anywhere else that is much less expensive. Having said that, the portions are huge. The nachos look like they are meant for an entire table and everything is served on metal cafeteria-style trays. Good for them though because the place is huge and always packed. The crowd here is very typical 'Rhode Island'. Expect to see a lot of anchor tattoos, lifted Jeeps with no doors in the parking lot, young 20 - 40 year old crowd who probably played high school football or baseball back in the day and still enjoy telling stories about it. There are no shortage of cross-fitters here. There is a nice buzz of conversation and energy ... but this is not the place you want to go if you don't like crowds. Inside is weird. The walls are painted black and the chairs/tables look like something in a boutique hotel. It looks a little more like a corporate hotel lobby or wedding function hall vs. a restaurant ... especially given the typical crowd. This is not the sports bar it appears to be on the outside. Overall, my 3-stars may seem harsh. But that's an average score ... and honestly, my food has always been average. Maybe I need to try the pizza. If you have deep pockets and like huge portions, you probably won't be disappointed in this place. The service is great, although 2 people working a packed bar, you will wait a bit if you need anything. Also, I came to watch the big game and for some reason they hung pendant lights which dangle down from around the bar. While they make everyone look better, the TVs are blocked by the lights. Very odd.

I definitely recommend coming in early as peak times there can be a long wait. But, I was happy that we didn't have a wait tonight. The restaurant itself is large and open but because of that can be hard to hear, especially if there are tables sitting next to you. I appreciate that they always have a specials menu as they have some imaginative dishes on there. Our waitress was friendly. She was pleasant but not overwhelming and made sure that we had everything we needed. If you haven't been here before I would recommend their seafood. It's all high quality and reasonably priced. Tonight though, I had the Alfredo with chicken and mushrooms. I will say their Alfredo is superb. It's buttery, rich, creamy, savory, and everything else you'd want an Alfredo to be. The chicken was thinly breaded and perfectly tender and the mushrooms were copious. I definitely had more than enough food for two meals. My grandma had a burger and liked her meal as well- I'm always a big fan of the pickle. If you haven't been to Lindy's yet, definitely try them out. It's a quality pub!
