The owner is super friendly and has worked very hard for many years on this garden. You can buy the daylillies or just wander around and take pictures. She has a covered porch to sit on for shade and tables to have a picnic or just relax and enjoy the view. She does charge $20 per car (you just leave cash in a box when you park) and that goes toward care of the garden. I highly recommend stopping by. It's only about a 15 minute drive from the outlets in Dawsonville.

They have areas on their farm with beautiful views for any outside/inside events. I was here for my friends 25th Marriage Anniversary celebrations event which took place last weekend. The place is super grand and extremely cute. The venue is extremely beautiful with it's long driveway, a lake overview, a waterfall and the rustic barn. The staff are super welcoming and very kind as well. It's a beautiful venue for a wedding, birthdays, dance, DJ parties or family get togethers or gathering for any kind of occasions or engagements. I was very impressed with the space, and highly recommend to couples looking for a place to get married anytime of the year. The barn is beautiful and full of everything you would need for the greatest event. It has fantastic spots for pictures/photography and multiple options for any kind of ceremonies. My favorite part of the gardens is the Japanese garden with its countless deep red Japanese maples, reflecting pools, shaded benches for contemplating the gardens' beauty. It's a beautiful place to take a stroll and have lunch in the shaded outdoor dining area next to the sandwich shed. Sandwiches are delicious, prepared by the fabulous Home Restaurant in the area. The gardens occupies total of 376 acres, featuring over 250 acres of landscaped gardens divided into several distinct sections: the Japanese Gardens, the Monet Waterlily Gardens, the Daffodil Gardens, and the Manor Gardens. The Japanese Gardens occupy a central position within the estate, covering 40 acres and featuring streams, ponds, miniature islands, small bridges, and Japanese maples. Matt, one of the owners, was a great host, filling us in with the history of SAF, and his vision for the place. I really hope he and his family are successful. It's off the beaten path, but worth the visit. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is I'm not that big a fan of fruit/sweet wines, which is what they are known for. But, I will say that SAF offers many wines that appeased a moderate level of sweetness I can enjoy (I think there were 4 or 5 really sweet ones out of the 20 or so you could choose from). The Rosé Muscadine was something I could see myself enjoying on a hot afternoon by the pool, so bought a bottle. I also was pleasantly surprised by the Lemon Strawberry wine. They have tasting room in Helen also, but you won't get the same experience as the Alto location.
