This is my 2nd UP location and they def do not disappoint. The coffee and flavored teas always tastes great and the service is really friendly and fast. This location is a bit on the smaller side but there's a few seats if you wanna sit and chat with a friend or get work done. We were excited and cut them into pieces to share. But when I took a bite of the Glazed Carrot Cake with Walnuts, it tasted strange. When I looked closely, I saw mold on it. I was really upset. It looked like it had been sitting out for several days. I was so disappointed that they would sell something that isn't fresh. Just to be safe, we couldn't eat the other pastries either. Super cute cafe with tasty drinks! There's nice seating, cute ambiance, and good service. There's a variety of matchas and the rose matcha latte is sooo good. I also got an almond croissant which was to die for. The barista was so nice and accommodating, I initially ordered a blueberry smoothie and I wasn't a huge fan of it, the smoothie tasted more like yogurt than an actual smoothie. I moved to the neighborhood about a year ago. Under Pressure is such a great neighborhood staple. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but go in there once in awhile (I'm always at the Post Office across the street, so it's an easy stop!). Everything here is fresh and high quality! My favorite drink I've had there is the Matcha Chai. Something you don't see everywhere, but it's well balanced and not too sweet. I've tried some of their lattes as well, and everything is delicious-always high quality, well balanced and never too much sugar. I've purchased pastries in store and through TGTG; Everything I've had is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend their koulouris, spinach pie, and muffins. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality and staff are always friendly. It's been quiet whenever I'm there (regardless of the day/hour), but I highly recommend supporting this local gem!! I came close to closing time, so didn't stay, and did takeout instead. (Their hours posted on Yelp said they closed at 8pm but they really close at 4pm). I got a huge array of pastries; some American and some Greek. They were ALL fantastic! So fresh and still warm when I got home! Portion sizes were rather large, and everything was delicious. Koulouri with tomato and olive filling 4.5 stars - First time trying this pastry. Thought was a version of Simit. It had a flakey filo like pastry shell and a tomato&olive paste inside. It was served warm which made it a comforting breakfast treat on a cold day. It reminded me of a Burek too. It was great as is but a thinner, lighter filo could make it even better. Greek Frappe (in photo) 5 stars - Tried this before in a different country but haven't seen this served in NYC. It was good with a foamy top, bitter with great strong coffee flavor. Got it with oat milk. Iced Latte 4 stars - Got this with oat milk too. Creamy, smooth but would prefer if it had a stonger coffee flavor. Then again, it is a latte, so it is milky on purpose. i have nothing bad to say about their coffee or ambiance but about how i was being treated just now today by the staff there. So i happened to be around the neighborhood, my husband and I brought bagels at the same block, we dont like coffee at the bagel shop and went to Under Pressure Espresso Bar brought a cup of cold brew to eat with our bagels, we happened to drink the coffee and eat our bagels at the outside chairs in front of Bar. At the time, there is no customer inside shop or at outside seatings. Later on, I was approached by the staff telling us to leave because we are comsuming bagels not from their shop, i was in shock. I am a paying customer and still havent finishing drinking their store brought coffee. I think they went way overboard. I will understanding to be kicked out of store if i am cosuming coffee and eating bagel inside the Bar, but we are outside, its just two outside small table seatings. I am not even sure if they are allow to having outside seatings on a public street and i am being told to go away, while i am eating on a pubic street. Its definitely not right and not the right way to do business!!! its ruined my beautiful morning! For their coffee, its just okay, nothing special. read more

I tried from my sister their frappe with oat milk, sooooo good! Today I had my mom get me a macchiato with almond milk and no sugar.
