It was worth the drive! I got a iced vanilla oat milk latter which is delicious!! The girl working there was super nice. They have a huge selection of all kinds of books and a little coffee shop area with seating in the back. You can get all kinds of coffee, with different flavors, and they also had about 3 different non dairy milk options (yay!!) I believe they also had pastries and granola bars. So we thought that it was just a rough day, which anyone can have, and we would try it again. When we went back weeks later, and it was even slower! It took over 45 minutes to get 2 drinks and 2 premade muffins! It was insane, and when I asked around the 30 minute mark how much longer it would be the barista/server was really cranky. After this experience I asked my daughter who had tried this place a couple of times too, how her experiences were and unfortunately she had similar issues. So if you try this place, make sure you have a lot of time to wait. Personally I don't think I will be going back anytime soon.

Their book trade in system is quite sloppy, I gave them $200 worth of old books and they gave me $15 worth of book credits. the value is terrible as well. A very rough looking book about Athens, Greece that I bought was $25, originally $25.50. Other than that, I love the place, I just wish it had better organisation and value.

I've been visiting this location for over 5 years and the cafe staff are so friendly and despite my irregular visiting schedule, they remember my name each time I'm there. I also enjoy when they have after season clearance sales -- they will gradually mark items down to 50% off, then 75% off and the remaining will go for $1-2/item. The best time to check this out is after a holiday (think post-Easter / Halloween, etc.) as they will have a bunch of mark downs. I often find great little gift items to hold on to or fun surprises for myself (I got a cool kitchen scale one time for $2!).

Which makes this store such a treasure. You can find a great selection of items and get your caffeine fix at the indoor Starbucks. First, it's big, spacious, clean, lots of seating spaces. Second, it's got a lot of books in a lot of genres. And third, and least important to us, it's got a lot of other stuff that isn't books -- things like gifts, etc. -- that add up to a store welcoming to visitors with all sorts of interests. Our primary interest is books, and we found many to like here. Unlike some BN stores, they carry a lot of classics in different publishing formats. There are large sections of popular fiction and nonfiction, and very appealing and diverse cookbook and mystery sections. We really enjoyed our visit here, and we appreciated the friendliness of the staff. We didn't need any help in our searches, but they are quick and efficient in the checkout. All in all, a very good experience, and we can recommend this store without hesitation.

When I got there, there were a few racks of used books, but nearly every single one of them were paperback romance novels. They were also priced at $4 or $5, nearly the price of a new one that doesn't have the cover/spine all mangled. For the entire duration of my visit, the two people there (owners?) carried on a conversation about which movies they were wanting to see, and the last episode of Oprah. Not once did they address me, acknowledge my presense, or inquire as to whether I needed assistance.

The day came and what a lovely coffee shop to hang out in. They serve coffee, milkshakes, tea, and lunch. It's cozy but open so you can sit on a couch, high table, or play at a table. Most DVDs and cds are $1 each, with some multi-sets priced a bit more. Books are typically $4 each but some are a bit less, some a bit more. You can get a pretty new book for just $4. The store is only open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays but that's plenty of time to browse for some excellent bargains. The store is staffed by volunteers who are always cheerful and helpful. I highly recommend Friends Books on Main.
