Came here for the first time today. Definitely will be my last. To start off there was no one at the entrance to greet us or tell us where to sit. I get it maybe if there was a sign saying "please seat yourself" then that would be a lot better. Once we got to our table the waitress took our order & after that we waited OVER AN HOUR until we got our food & it wasn't even busy! You could tell that they were treating their regulars a lot better & faster than anyone else. Honestly if I could give this place zero stars I would. Once we actually got our food it was horrible. Quite the hot-spot for local alumni to grab a drink. Usually bombarded with the same crowd of people every weekend. Very average for any local bar. Fairly small, though a lot of tables to accommodate (should there be) large groups. No real wins on drink prices. Haven't tried any food, and I haven't heard anything about their food, so I imagine that would be quite average and preferrably avoidable by most. Came here from Chicago,heard about the waffle fries. Fries were good and so was the service. I don't know about the crowd though unless I just got unlucky to sit next to this barfly named Janelle. She was so annoying and kept trying to get drinks from me. She had stories about all kinds of abusive behavior by her exhusband Alex. (this manipulative nut probably deserved it, no wonder he's gone) As time went on this girl got so drunk she propositioned me to go back to her house and do some things that are so bizarre and warped that I can't even mention. That was it,had to run for fear of disease ! Unfortunately I probably won't be back to Underpass Lounge, but you never know. My co-workers and I love to stop in Underpass for after work cocktails. We tend to come here most in the warmer months, as they have one of the best outdoor patios in the area. This year, they redid the patio and it's even better (minus the bags though). The bartenders here are exceptional - after my first visit, Leslie already knew my drink of choice and had it primed on the bar as I walked in on my second visit - seriously, this still shocks me! They have a great beer selection and keep up with seasonal selections too. The garlic parmesan wings are my personal favorite - Tuesday taco's are also quite tasty. read more

I ordered the Franklin Park's Chicken Philly sandwich and was quite disappointed in the chicken. Everything on the sandwich was great except for the chicken, which was very dry and tasted like it was reheated 10 times. I'll be back but won't order this again. The staff was very nice. read more

Wish I could give it 0 stars. I guess it's a locals type bar. Workers drink with guests. Doesn't seem like anyone is really running things. Came in with a huge group, ready to spend a lot of money- we were celebrating. Yes, we all look young but were all willing to show ID's. Long story short the staff did not like our presence. Waitress told someone in our group to "stop giving her attitude and not to roll her eyes". All because she didn't look at her when she handed her the ID. Went to the bathroom with 2 friends. Came back and one of the waitresses pulled the arm of my friend and asked for her ID. Getting physical is unacceptable. She easily could have waited until we got back to our table to ask again or just could have looked at the mark they made on our hands in sharpie. We ordered one round and after being told that we could leave- our group of 15 left and enjoyed our night elsewhere. Could have been a lot of business their way as we are locals. I have been there about 3 times was there last night and did not enjoy it at all. 1st they were out of tacos on taco tuesday by 8pm and the worst it felt like i was at chucke cheese! There was about 5 kids running around jumping on tables and chairs, jumping off tables and chairs and the host or waitress said nothing. I thought this was a lounge bar NO KIDS ALLOWED. NO good service. The lady in charge of party planning ( LESLIE) is HORRIBLE. By the way , she is the MANAGER. She didn't know what she was doing at ALL. She told us we can reserve tables for a party... we called to confirm the number of people the day before (as she told us) and she tell us NO. Apparently there was a fight scheduled and due to the fight we couldn't reserve tables and we couldn't bring any balloons or decorations. Never again.
