Ahi Tuna Tartare-GF - Not good

You'll find this spot hidden in the hotel. The cocktails are fantastic! I had the petaltini and lemon cheesecake martini. Both were excellent and made me happy. Ordered the tuna tartare and it was terrible. Looked gray and so bland. Virtually flavorless, we actually sent it back it was not good. Skip the food & go for the cocktails only. Our bartender was super nice.

Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster's and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster's. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people. -shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily. -hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer. -Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It's a very clean burger. Your hands don't get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they're on the thinner side. Well seasoned.

This spot is located within The Rose Hotel in Chicago. Thorn Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience both for breakfast and dinner with its delicious and fresh cuisine with an Asian twist. Thorn's menu is a fusion of modern American food favorites and a few signature Thorn Restaurant items. From classic Avocado Toast & Omelets to the fresh Poke Bowl and Seafood Flatbread. Every dish I've tried has had great flavor. Also noteworthy are the Greek yogurt bowls for breakfast! Thanks to Executive Chef Scott Wallett for feeding me great food at a convenient spot close to O'Hare.

After some shopping at the outlet malls, we decided to grab a bite to eat. Since it's restaurant week, we decided on a place neither of us had been. It's in a hotel right off the parking. It's a decent view. I ordered the Rose Burger and fries + the Pineapple Cobbler cocktail. I requested medium rare, but it came out medium/well done. For dessert was the ginger creme brulee. It took about 15 minutes for desserts. The ambiance was nice, and the seating was in a wide open room. You definitely don't feel crowded. Nothing really wowed me over.

I could go on and on about Thorn! Located inside of the Rose hotel, this a perfect spot to meet with friends, get some work done over a drink, have a date, and lounge around over some delicious food. Right when you enter the lobby, the restaurant will be on the right side so it's very easy to find. I could rave about the staff all day - Chef Nick and bar manager Mike are both so hospitable, personable and they do such a great job with the food and drinks at Thorn. The food pleasantly surprised me - you never think hotel restaurants are that amazing, but the food here really trumps that opinion! I recommend the salmon poke bowl, burrata avocado toast, and hemp hummus. The cocktails here are so intricate and good - I recommend the Petaltini, which is a martini served with a big rose shaped ice cube in the middle. Everything is reasonably priced, as well. The restaurant is very dimly lit and has a romantic ambiance to it; I loved it! I'm already planning on coming here to work at the lounge and order some lunch. Can't wait to see the staff again and try another yummy meal here!

The food was really good, They have amazing drinks and specialty cocktails the only thing is that the service was the best. The bartenders were kind of nice but it didn't seem genuine and it seemed like they were being "fake nice". Like when you notice someone has an attitude but they hide it. The manager Mike was really nice tho he was much more friendly than Juan and Casey, the other 2 bartenders i had that day. 9/10 would recommend

Great in hotel option for a two day stay! Came to stay at the Rose hotel by Hilton for two days and really enjoyed the delicious options that the thorn restaurant and lounge had to offer. On the first day I had the delicious rose burger, which was well seasoned with a delicious bun and tasty fries. For breakfast I had the breakfast burrito which the big highlight there was actually the smashed red potatoes. While the burrito was not bad a probably will try something else in the future. I would definitely come back for a nice meal!

I am still in disbelief over my experience at this restaurant and lounge yesterday. I approached the front desk of the hotel and they directed me to go to their lounge. There was a small group of people huddled around the bar of the lounge but there were no lounge personnel around. After awkwardly standing around for two minutes I approached the bartender and she said to go ahead and take a seat at whatever table I wanted. After sitting down and waiting for over 20 minutes I approached the bartender again and asked if someone was going to come to my table to take my order vs if I need to order at the bat. She apologized and said she would be there soon. After another 10 minutes she made her way over to my table, took my drink order, and then eventually I received my drink. I had made these reservations with the hopes of eating dinner, but after waiting around for over an hour and a half, and after three different trips to the bartender, our party was continuously ignored and in summary we ended up leaving because we never even had our order taken. No one really cared that we left or apologized for essentially wasting our time. We ended up going across the street and having a very pleasant experience a Trulucks.

We had a reservation for 7pm, but it wasn't really needed as there were only 2 other tables occupied and a couple at the bar. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table, which was in the room with the decorative tree, which I appreciated. We ended up having the room to ourselves the whole night, but with the ambiance and music, we almost didn't notice. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. The service was slow overall but accurate. There weren't many check-ins to see how we were doing, but if you're not in a rush, it's perfect for catching up with friends. We felt like we could take our time and enjoy the company. The food and drinks were good overall. They had a lot of interesting options with the Latin/Asian Fusion menu that were fun to try (where else can you get guacamole with your sushi?). We had guacamole, dumplings, and tuna tatake for starters and then a few sushi rolls. All were very tasty and seemed fresh and made to order with good presentation. The only cons were that one of my friends got the poke bowl and was surprised at how small it was based on price ($33), and another friend thought his Negroni pour was a little short. We all left glad to have tried it and open to coming back again!

We stood at the front with absolutely no acknowledgement from any of the staff including the bartenders. There is a front counter it seems, but no one was there. After five minutes of standing, and yes, it was 5-min, as the World Cup was on and that game clock doesn't stop. 5-minutes might not sound long, but when you're standing in the front, its a long time. We finally got greeted by their understaffed people, and were seated in the back. Obviously no reservation needed, as they didn't even ask. After about another 5-minutes, we got paper menus. By this time, we scanned the QR code that was on the table, to see the menu, and we were already ready to order. Sadly, I wish I did look at the paper menu, because apparently the online menu was different. There was a gumbo on the paper menu apparently. There's pictures of it on their TV monitors, showcasing their food, but I didn't see it on the online menu. We go the oysters, which surprisingly no one got sick from. Chicken fajitas were OK, and the rainbow roll sushi was OK too. The service really was bad... I would not come back again. BATHROOM REVIEW: Located in between the back room and bar area, the bathrooms were surprisingly pleasant. No poop splatters or pee stains on the toilet and urinals. They keep their bathrooms clean. Sit or squat? Sit.

He was obviously very very drunk to a point where he could barely walk wo/stumbling. He was slurring his words. Both my sister & I asked the bartender not to serve him anymore alcohol but she kept serving him drinks even after we asked. She continued to serve him even after we asked her not to. Table 12 for the win!…read more I was in Rosemont for a work trip, which usually means dull dinners, early nights and generally a bit Puritanical. Since we were in Chicago, I took my boss and coworker to the Tiki TIki next door for a shot of Malort. It's Chicago, after all. 1 shot became 2, 2 became 4, and before I knew it, the bartender was ushering us through the swinging door into Pete's once they opened. Fun fact: we were the first ones in and also shut the bar down. From the moment the pianists started, it was clear this place was on point. Even them doing introductions and giving the ground rules was done musically. All four singers were wicked talented, and rotated in and out through the night. On occasion, they came together and became a full on quartet playing instruments other than pianos. Vocals were amazing, the energy in the place was such that I didn't even realize the time until they did last call and the lights came up. The layout of Pete's lends itself to entertainment. Regardless of what table you are at, you have a great view of the stage and no one has their back to the performance. The atmosphere is covered with fun and bright signs all over and despite being a larger place, it feels intimate when your song is played and everyone sings along. The table service was also great. She never hovered, but we also never lacked a drink. The next best thing about this place, after the performers, is the level of crowd interaction. There were folks singing along to every single song, and at times it was the whole bar. A couple of times during the night, folks were running around the bar riding a horse's head (or maybe a unicorn) on a stick. Somehow, it all just made sense. Pete's turned what could have been another boring end of a work trip sitting in the hotel into a night full of laughs, shots, and having a hoarse voice for days.
