The food was really...eh....I expected more for the price I'm paying...it's pretty bland...the waitress kept giving us dirty looks, and the place is DISGUSTING!!! Just look at the attached photo showing the carpet. The wall paper was tearing in a lot of areas, it was very dusty. I expected higher quality from their pricing....

Due to unplanned travel events, we ended up at the Hilton ORD (O'Hare airport) for a night. Seeking snacks, we wandered to this alleged "historic speakeasy". No greeting staff at the host stand, so we continued past the odd booths toward the bar. A smattering of maybe 6-8 diners in this large "old timey" room (think wood spindles mixed w vintage wall paper). I felt like I was in an old western movie instead of a Chicago gangster scene. There was a perfect secret entrance to a dining area disguised as a phone booth, and it was an empty room. They are missing an opportunity. Strange vibe... so we had a drink and bailed. I enjoy dining in an upbeat atmosphere, not twilight zone. (My Manhattan was not on the speakeasy level either). The Gaslight seems long overdue for a reboot. Save the chandelier and scrape/redo the rest.

Very quiet night at the Hilton O'Hare and there were only in 2 guests in when we walked in. There was no one in the foyer to greet us so we walked into the dining room to look for someone. We saw a couple at the end of the room, thought nothing of it until the lady stood up and asked if I'm we were there for a drink or dinner. So the first tip is - If it looks like there is no staff at the podium, walk right on in. Based on the reviews we opted to try the grilled tuna and chicken lemon we added on the fried calamari as appetizer and took a chance with it. We were afraid the battery would be too thick. Well, they aren't. Light batter makes it wonderful. Not so much taste though. Lacks the basic salt and pepper taste. This dish would be special if it came with aioli song sauce instead of the cocktail sauce provided. It tasted better after my we are salt and pepper. The 2 entrees were surprising good and has good value. The chicken breast was sliced into halves and pounded down so it is thin and tender. It was very salty for me though. Maybe they brined the chicken meat. The grilled tuna was nicely done at medium. The taste was ok - again add some salt and pepper and it is fixed. Both portions were large, which was the most surprising part. I thought for a fancy restaurant like this, portions would be small. Not at all. And all these in a very cool 1950s setti in g with Frank Sinatra and his friend crooning overhead. Definitely worth a visit if you are hungry and has a long wait tome in ORD.

This place is so cute! Service is not only great, but they are dressed in really cute flapper like costumes! There was also a piano player and Singer the night that we went. I loved it! Not only that but the food that we ordered was amazing! As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're walking back in time. The aesthetic, the tunes, just everything, so pretty. can't wait to go back.

Gaslight is located in the Chicago Airport Hilton- We were happy to find it open for lunch. The service is wonderful and a nice surprise for an airport hotel/restaurant. The interior is a moody with beautiful chandeliers. I ordered a stuffed avocado shrimp Louis style salad. It came as a bed of lettuce with the filling on top and slices of avocado on the side. A little bland-but decent portions. Hubs had a turkey bacon sandwich.

Low key yet refined. The food was great... had the filet and spinach and wife had raviolis with the carbonara sauce. Ambiance was mixed. It was quiet and clean but the music was on and live piano and that was distracting and almost assaulting. When mentioned to waitress she just said that's how it is. Umm.. turn off house music when piano player is playing? The chef was great and food was great not too expensive even for hotel airport restaurant.

I will start off with the highlight: the service was lovely. My waitress was very sweet and appropriately attentive. The maitre'd was roaming, the mostly empty place (I was there for a very early dinner) and checked in with me at appropriate times. I did not have the heart to tell them how really disappointing the food is, except that I did mention that the pasta was overcooked. The major response to this was interesting. He said "yes that's how we get it." What do you think he meant by that? Perhaps all the food comes from some central kitchen at the Hilton. I had the caprese angel hair pasta with shrimp, a side of spinach, and a glass of red Zinfandel. The pasta was so overcooked that the spoon was completely superfluous. The red sauce tasted like something that came out of a jar. It was very bland, and slightly pungent. The spinach was very garlicky, and unfortunately, the garlic was overcooked which makes it bitter. The wine selection is very limited, I tried the Cabernet, which was very sweet, and switched to the red Zinfandel, which had some interesting flavors, but ultimately, I drank maybe a third of it and left the rest. The warm Italian bread with butter was a nice touch. And I mostly ate that... I must address the artwork and the ambience which screams red light district trying to masquerade as, renaissance art gallery meets Gothic Harvard Club. There are very large paintings on the walls flank by large round red lights. Of the 6 paintings: four were Renaissance style naked women, one was some kind of a Spanish dancer (flashing the room), and the sixth was a group of scantily clad flappers surrounding and kissing a businessman. I found this distasteful and confusing. A very disappointing $75 dinner.

I did a quick turn yesterday and stayed at Hilton - ORD. I have eaten at the Gaslight Club previously and had a late dinner last night. As times before the food was outstanding! I always get the French Onion Soup and the Wiener Schnitzel and last night was no different. Delicious! The service was outstanding as it has always been in the past. There was not a crowd at all, so the ambiance was very quiet and relaxing. My experiences here have always been excellent, so hopefully yours will be as good.

Wanted a hot meal after being stranded and missing all my connections. Wanted the bone in filet, but they were out. Haven't eaten all day & I am starving! Ordered calamari for apps and it was piping hot. Unfortunately no legs, but it was very good with a light batter. The asparagus was cooked perfectly as well as my steak. Definitely a hidden gem in airport dining! The steaks were cooked perfectly. Opted for a baked potato over their twice baked menu offer. Gaslight reminds me more of Hy's vs. Ruth Chris. I believe a bit of au jus was poured over vs. butter. Expresso & Tiramisu were wonderful! Talk about old world charm! I would definitely dine here again if I were at O'hare...hopefully not because I'm stranded, but because of a long layover.

Talk about some decor.

One was to see family, and the other was for a vacation as I took in some March Madness basketball games at the United Center. I flew American Airlines for all three of these flights. I flew into and out of Terminal for all of these flights and had a positive experience each time. After all, the slogan of the Chicago O'Hare International Airport is "What We're Made Of." Unlike friends who absolutely hate flying, I enjoy the travel experience, especially when using some helpful tools like CLEAR, Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check, airport lounge membership, and airline status, most of which I was able to enjoy during my Chicago O'Hare visits. When checking in (during my rare travels where I start a journey in Philadelphia), I was able to skip the check-in area if I didn't need to check bags (as I checked in online) on one of my trips, and then this most recent time, I checked in at the priority area for assistance and checking bags. I then went and used Global Entry and CLEAR to skip most of the line at Security while keeping my shoes on (thanks to an American Express Platinum card which comes with credits for both). If I start off at a certain terminal (like Terminal 3, I believe), they won't have CLEAR but should have Pre-Check and even TSA Touches. The airline lounges in Chicago O'Hare are plentiful as there are three Admirals Clubs including a Flagship Lounge and a USO Lounge. The other lounges are in other terminals. I also found it easy to navigate the trams between terminals as I took Uber to my hotel, which I had to take from terminal 2, which was easy to navigate to. I also saw easy signage to get to the car rental area from leaving baggage claim. They have 211 restaurants including vending machines and 142 stores including vending machines. There are also 15 services including Body Chargers, Jabbrrbox (Privacy Pods), Terminal Getaway Spas, The Barber Shop at Hilton Chicago O'Hare, and Yoga Room. You can go to https://www.flychicago.com/ohare for more details about the airport. All in all, it's a great airport and one I do not have an issue with a layover here and there.

While the clubs used to be spacious with decent food and drink offerings and excellent service, the clubs have become much busier with fewer seats available and average food and drink options. It seems that everyone has access to an Admirals Club nowadays and brings their entire families. With that said, this particular lounge is one of the largest locations I have been in, and there are many places within the lounge to relax, do work, grab a snack, or anything else. In fact, for such a large lounge, there were surprisingly open seats here and there where I'm used to smaller lounges without any open seats. There is comfortable seating as well as bar seating and table seating. Also over the last year, I've begun to see the efforts made to improve the Admirals Club membership which includes complimentary hot food throughout the day from soups, Mac and Cheese, sandwiches, meatballs, and breakfast items (not all at once though). There are charcuterie offerings, dessert trays, a salad bar, hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, and then house drinks. You can pay more for premium drinks and prepared meals. Access to the lounge is easy to get whether through the Citi Executive World Mastercard with free access for you and up to two guests. You can also pay $175 for up to three authorized users each receiving their own lounge access (with up to two guests). Also, One World alliance flyers with a certain status can access Admirals Clubs. There are also Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining locations, which offer much more than just Admirals Clubs. I'm confident that making it easy to get Admirals Club memberships has led to lounges being overcrowded though now that you have to pay for authorized users instead of getting them for free in recent years, that may help. You can also redeem AAdvantage miles for membership or access to the Admirals Club. This specific lounge is also connected to the Flagship Lounge, which is a special elevated American Airlines lounge complete with Flagship Dining options. In terms of design, this lounge has various types of seating. They have the more comfortable chairs located throughout the various rooms at this lounge. They also have numerous seats that are associated with tables. This is probably best for people like myself, who enjoyed grabbing a quick snack, and having a drink, before it's time to board the aircraft. They also have long desks with charging ports set up for those who want to get some work done. Plus, there are some self-standing seats spread out throughout the lounge area. In terms of food offerings, they have food buffets on two ends of the lounge. Both of these buffets offer a unique blending of Quick-Food, as I like to call it. Is pretty good. I will say, that I've never been disappointed in what they offer. You can always find something to suit your pallet. In terms of drinks, they have drink offerings at both ends of the lounge, as well, in association with the food buffets. There, you can get your expected soft drinks, coffee, and water. If you want alcoholic beverages, you have to go down to the one end of the lounge, where they have a bar. There, they generally have two bartenders. Each of which is happy to give you whatever you want. They often mix drinks, beers, wine, and all that kind of stuff. Many of the drinks are all free. But, if they are, be sure to throw the bartenders a tip. I think that's an important gesture. Some people decide to sit along the bar while they enjoy their drinks. I guess they are just type of people who enjoying hanging out at bars. I don't find out all that comfortable, or appealing, as you're basically elbow-to-elbow with somebody, you don't really know. But, that's just my personal opinion. If I have one complaint about this lounge, it's the fact that it's not really set up for the first class domestic passengers on United. Whereas, is you are flying internationally on United, they use the Star Alliance lounges that are specifically designed for its first and business class passengers. In terms of this lounge, pretty much anybody can get into it, simply by paying a sixty dollar fee. Thus, you get a whole lot of people, Just overwhelming space, without a lot of decorum. Overall, I've been in much better lounges, and I've been in a lot worse lounges around the globe. There's not much to complain about this place, you just have to expect that there's gonna be a lot of people. I have seen it at times midday, when people can't even find a single seat to sit in.
