Every time we come to Chicago, we do a take out from Liberty Tavern at the Hilton. They have delicious sandwiches and the staff, especially, Kenneth, is super customer-focused. Great environment, too! We always say we are going to come in and dine (we stay at the hotel next door), but it's so quick & efficient that we enjoy the takeout! Typically, we have come into town after a 4 hr drive and it sure is convenient to relax and eat in our room! Someday soon, we will come in to eat. Previously, when I was on business coming thru Chicago, I did eat at the Liberty Tavern. I can say it was wonderful. This is located within the Hilton Rosemont Hotel. I was at the hotel for a convention. There was a break and I was a little hungry...figured an appetizer would be perfect. I didn't want anything too big so I settled with the truffle spinach artichoke dip. It was good, but I didn't taste any truffle! It was served with soft pita bread. The pita bread paired well! Wow, this restaurant surprised me so much. The food and service was impeccable! I work across the street and decided to give them a try despite some of the not so great reviews. They start you off with freshly baked bread and butter (shaped in flowers!) We ordered the charcuterie board, the short rib flatbread, the soup of the day (tomato and basil), and the chicken pot pie. While the prices I admit are a little steep, the food and service make up for it! We also sat next to the fireplace which is so nice on a cold day. All the food was amazing especially the chicken pot pie. I love pot pie and the flavor in this was so good. The woman I spoke to(no visible name tag) said she didn't have control over Yelp, only her (the restaurants) website, yet they can't get it right there either. While waiting for our reservation, there's Starbucks inside the lobby and plenty of festive photo ops. Hotel always live up to its name. Hotel is well maintained & staff was a alamce of professional and down to earth. Breakfast buffet was decent. Santa was phenomenal; he acted the part pretty well that he was Santa. My daughter enjoyed decorating Christmas cookie, making an ornament, and writing a letter to Santa. I got a martini and fish tacos to go. $40. This is not a $20 martini place. I was disappointed when I got the bill. Still was hopeful about the tacos....... For $18 I got three cold, yes cold corn tortillas. The fish was dry and I honestly feel microwaved. The 1/4 avocado was browning on the edges but was sadly the shining moment of the tacos. I will say the chorizo retried beans were hot and good. They were more like a chili and frankly thank goodness for them because they became my meal. I get that people at hotels are a lot of times on expense accounts but that is no reason to screw them over. I went for breakfast over the weekend and had the option of either ordering off an a la carte menu or ordering the breakfast buffet ($24). I opted for the Eggs Your Way off the a la carte menu ($15), which comes with two eggs, choice of meat, potatoes or fruit, and wheat or white toast. I order two eggs over easy, bacon, fruit, and white toast. No complaints about anything, but no highlights either, hence the average rating. We ate that, they didn't care their pancakes sucked. We just paid and left then had to pay to get something else. Seriously order Uber Eats or chose some where else if staying at Rosemont. We had burgers the night before in same restaurant, I ask, is how we want them cooked but then brought us both burgers cooked a totally different temperature lol it a over priced joke with bad service. This restaurant is located in the Hilton across the street from my office. I would say it is probably what you expect from a hotel restaurant. I have tried a variety of things on the menu, you're usually pretty safe with any of the sandwiches or salads. The French onion soup is great as well. I tried the Mac n cheese the other day, and it was an overall table consensus of not good. Tip: check your bank statements and keep your receipts! I caught that I had a random charge from a weekend (hence NOT at work) for almost 90$. Waiting on the reimbursement now. Unfortunately I had to REDUCE stars. I got charged YET again for over $100 bill that I was not there. While they helpful it was incredibly frustrating. I will not be back. Beware or splitting checks because they claim that was the reasoning behind these ghost charges. read more

Came here with a big group. They were able to seat 15 of us around a big, round table in a semiprivate room. The atmosphere is modern and classy. The service was pretty good, but could have been more attentive. I had the short rib stew. It was small and unimpressive. For the price, I expected more. I really love the food at Liberty Tavern. Lucky for me it's directly across the street from my office, so I stop in here for lunch often. They recently changed their menu, and everything I've tried is really good. My absolute favorite is the burrata salad. It has a base of Arugula that has been drizzled with balsamic, then it's topped with prosciutto, heirloom tomatoes, burrata, and two crispy pieces of bread. Came in for dinner while staying at the Hilton. Staff was friendly and they had some decent local beers on tap. I went with the Two Brothers Wiesse which was crisp and delicious. I started with the pumpkin-sweet potato soup which was topped with crumbled goat cheese and toasted pumpkin seeds and served with rosemary-parmesan garlic toast. The soup was not overly sweet and the consistency was thick and creamy. It had plenty of pumpkin flavor without being overly sweet. I also ordered the seared ahi tuna appetizer which came with pickled onions and sliced avocado. The tuna was not over cooked and had the pickles were a nice compliment to the richness of the tuna. Was stuck inside the hotel due to unexpected snowstorm. We may not have gone to this restaurant if we hadn't been stuck inside the hotel, and we are so happy that we came to this restaurant!! Yummy burratta salad! Nice mix of crunch from the croutons and arugula, creaminess from the burratta, and saltiness from the prosciutto. There are complimentary rolls which was good for sopping up the rest of the balsamic. My mom enjoyed her pumpkin soup. We also ordered the homemade adobo chips were warm and had a great mild spice to them. We sat in the bar area which has TVs to watch the game. I really wanted to try the Jack Daniels flight which consists of Old No 7, Gentlemans Jack, Single Barrel, and Frank Sinatra but it was a Sunday evening and my girlfriend said no... I gotta come back for this cuz it was only $20 to try all of them! The mixed cocktails seem over priced though. I can't figure out quite what it was- just odd to the point that it was hard to eat. Also ordered the beet salad with steak. Again- just not good. The beets were raw and shaved and seemed dried out. If I was reviewing service alone this restaurant would get 5 stars. The staff were attentive and friendly for a late dinner. The food quality is what earns this restaurant its 3 stars. I ordered the roasted chicken with onions, tomatoes and potatoes. The chicken was over seasoned and WAY over cooked. Dry and chewy. Having owned a restaurant of my own I understand cooking regulations but you can cook chicken to regulation without overcooking. When seasoning chicken with sage and rosemary it's easy to over season so a little more attention to cooking time and amount of seasoning would earn them a better dinner rating. read more
