4 stars. I love a great fitting bra! But boy, it takes a while to find that perfect fit. And the ladies here know this and are patient and attentive. It's pricey. Not more pricey than other speciality shops, though. Those of us who frequent these shops know what to expect but if you are new to this, be prepared! Most bras are $50-$200. And the matching panties aren't far behind that. Panache and Elomi are my favorite brands. Prima Donna is also amazing but I just can't justify paying that for everyday lingerie. I was introduced to Underpinnings years ago at a Yelp event in 2019. I truthfully hadn't been since then... but today when my underwire popped out of my bra, and I knew I was going to Norton Commons (for another Yelp event), I rushed into Underpinnings. I was greeted by Brooklyn, and while I arrived only 20-25 minutes before closing, I was welcomed with open arms. Brooklyn did a fitting and brought out a handful of options for me while also explaining what one should want out of a good bra. You're paying for quality here, and that comes with top notch service. I expect this bra will last much longer than the one I came in with! I can't say enough great things about Brooklyn either. I recently had a double mastectomy with direct to implants. I needed professional measurements for my new bras. I scheduled an appointment, last week, for a private fitting. Scheduled it online & was able to get my appointment in a week. Hanna was my consultant. I was a little nervous (to be honest), but she picked 3 bras that would work with my situation perfectly. Underpinnings Lingerie has been a staple in our household for the past 6 years! The BEST bras (who knew there are HUNDREDS of sizes?!), the BEST selection and the BEST/KNOWLEDGABLE STAFF...speaking of staff...I pulled to park my vehicle today at 6:01, not realizing the boutique closed at 6:00. I saw Kirsten closing up and walking away next to me. But as soon as she saw me, she greeted me with a bubbly smile and invited me in to purchase my special order bra. This place is amazing! I walked in to have a fitting and the experience was great. The stylist, Hannah, measured me and picked several bras for me to try on. She listened to my preferences and all of the options were great. My bra size is hard to find in regular stores so I was amazed by the options. There were several bralette options as well. The bralettes are supportive too! The most amazing thing was the Bra30. It's this magical tank top/bralette that provides support without extra padding. I don't know how it does it but it's magic. Underpinnings is located in the heart of Norton Commons. They carry bras in sizes 28A to 54N, so there is truly something for everyone. Bra fitting is typically a delicate and uncomfortable experience. However, at Underpinnings I was instantly at ease because the staff were so warm, attentive, respectful, discreet, and professional. My fitter was so patient and determined to find a bra that fit me and was comfortable (not an easy task!). I am certain that she got her 10K steps that day and that most were obtained running back and forth bringing countless bras for me to try!! We ultimately found just the right bra that had me feeling uplifted (sorry, couldn't help myself) and confident, and I left a happy lady! The store has beautiful merchandise that is tastefully displayed. In addition to bras there are panties, sleepwear, lounge wear, candles, perfumes, and more. Parking is along the street (Norton Common Blvd) and can be difficult depending on the time of day and what might be going on in the neighborhood. However, the neighborhood is so pretty that a short walk is not a bother and the staff and merchandise are certainly worth it! read more

What a wonderful quaint shop, I felt like I was in Paris. The shop has a lot of choices, but it is not overwhelming. It can be uncomfortable to get a proper fitting but I did not feel embarrassed or awkward. I am always terrified to go get a bra fitting and have never had them work for me in the past, so I had low expectations coming into Underpinnings, but they BLEW ME AWAY! I felt SO comfortable the entire time. The staff there made me feel like I was just at a friend's house. As most of us do...I was wearing the wrong size bra for the last....countless years.... and have just had my overall sense of comfort and confidence go up dramatically. Had an amazing experience at Underpinnings this afternoon! I came in with a sad sad fitting old bra and left with a new bra size and a ton of beautiful bras and confidence! Elizabeth, the bra fitter, grabbed me a glass of Prosecco while I shopped around and looked at all the robes, lingerie, and underwear out on display. The bras are in the back because they have over 150 sizes of bras! They have some of the biggest European brands that you can't in town like Panache, CosaBella, and Simone Perele and companies that focus on small chests and others that only have sizes starting at brand and cup sizes you can't get usually in person. While I sipped on my Prosecco, Elizabeth asked me a ton of questions to get a sense of what I liked and was looking for and then we headed to the fitting room where she did the fitting. I always find it super awkward having a fitting or the employees see my ladies but Elizabeth was so professional and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. The Prosecco didn't hurt either. Unsurprisingly I learned I was wearing two cup sizes too small and too big of a band. She showed me how my current bra was fitting improperly and told me what to look for in a good fit. She grabbed 5-6 bras to start and test how the bras fit and was willing to take the time to show me on each one what made the bra fit well so I feel like I can apply that knowledge in the future too! She got my size correct on the first try and I have never ever worn a bra that fit better!! And the quality and detailing on each and every bra was so luxurious. Once we had my size and knew the brands I liked best, she grabbed some more she thought I would like and a few wild cards. I almost turned away the wild cards, but definitely glad I trusted her because I bought both she showed me! The prices are not outrageous either. They've got some high high end stuff I didnt even touch, but for the most part the prices range between $50-$90 for all their bras which is comparable to the ill fitting bras I've bought at VS. When I was looking for a couple of holiday presents Stacia helped me select some items within my price range and packaged them beautifully. We ended up going with a few different types of candles and they were great presents! During the covid restrictions, Kirsten helped me select a couple of items through multiple phone calls. She helped me understand size and fit and how to do my own measurements. I was happy with the items she helped me pick. They will work with you to find the correct size and item for you. I had a great experience shopping at Underpinnings. I have had bra fittings before but always at a chain store with limited sizes. I learned a lot about what makes a bra fit well. And this is the first time I have had a bra with a really great fit. They have a huge stock and listen to what you like and bring out styles that fit with your criteria. I purchased a sports bra and a regular bra. They are now my favorite bras and I have purchased two more. I am much more comfortable during COVID in a small store and they do a great job with cleaning and making me feel comfortable. Anyone who wants a great fitting bra, needs to go here!
