I just had a full, custom subwoofer setup installed in my Tesla M3 by the gentlemen at Unexpected Creations. Let me tell you, the level of service, dedication, and professionalism of these two guys was outstanding. They gave me consistent updates and explained to me what they had to do to get the job done and any changes that needed to be made throughout the project. The workshop is setup extremely well given this is a residential business. They built custom housing for the sub, in-house, to fit exactly what was needed for the car. They did everything they needed to do in order to get the job done well and efficiently. Their attention to detail is absolutely outstanding. They have an amazing waiting area if you do decide to wait for the job to be done (I did). They provide a large TV, access to movies, live TV, WiFi, phone chargers and an amazing couch to sit/lounge on. The work on my car was definitely not standard and I applaud these guys for the awesome work and patience they had installing in my M3. We took my sons car in to have a subwoofer and amp installed. Don told me during installation that the car battery had died, I figured the car was five years old. I would just replace the battery. After replacing the battery, every time we went to start the car, the battery was dead. I reached out to Don and expressed my concerns that something he did was draining the battery. He argued with me and told me it had nothing to do with the work he had done. I took the car to the Honda dealer and twice to Mavis. They couldn't find anything wrong with the car. I called Don again and told him That it had to be the work he did. He told me he couldn't see the car for two weeks because he was busy. So I begged him to see it sooner because the battery kept dying. He squeezed us in and was able to fix it even though he swore that it had nothing to do with his work. A week later, the left speaker was not working. I took the car back to Honda and had new speakers put in. A few days later, the speakers blew again my husband called him and he argues and says it has nothing to do with the work that he did.once he got our money, he didn't want anything to do with the problem he created in the car. I then took the car elsewhere. They were able to fix all his mistakes and the car has been fine ever since. His customer service is horrible. read more

Called earlier in the week regarding my sons Subaru and asked them if I needed an appointment for an estimate. I was told no appointment needed, they are there all day, just come by and they would be happy to help. Saturday arrives and my other son said that he wanted a new system for his Toyota Camry. We drive 30 minutes to the shop and when we get there we cannot find the house because this is a home based operation. I had to call twice to get the proper location. Every time we answer the phone the owner tells us something different about the location (Do you see the gray van? No, we're by the white SUV). We are driving up and down the street doing U-Turns. When we finally find the place, the owner is in the driveway working on a car and asks us if we have an appointment. He seems to have an attitude like we are bothering him. I told him that I would like to get an estimate on a system for my sons Camry. He says that he is working on a car right now, can't stop, he is too busy and can we come back another time? Needless to say they will not be getting our business. Conflicting information, poor customer service, and an attitude like you are being inconvenienced. Other reviews say there is a waiting area if you want to wait for your car. We weren't allowed past the foot of the driveway. Many people, like me, feel that their car is their baby and you get concerned when you hand it over to strangers.But even through my very first conversation with Don, i felt comfortable. I have an 2016 Audi A4 with Push Button Start and prior to coming across Unexpected Creations, I'd called a handful of other auto customizing shops for Audio and Remote Start Installations. These varied from national shops like Best Buy, TWO Audi Dealers and 3 local installers. ALL said essentially the same thing, in order for me the Remote Start to work, they would need to used One of my 2 KEYS to the car that would be somehow hidden or something inside the car to allow it to work. Well, there was no way I was gonna part with one of my 2 keys for a remote start feature. Don & Steve assured me they could get it to work without losing a key. Low and Behold, they DID exactly that and at the best price of all of those I'd contacted. Now their shop is not what you may expect, but it's super clean, well laid out, has an awesome "Lounge" with TV and wifi for you to hang out while they work. And what's different about that?? It's in one of their home garages in a residential neighborhood. Don't let that fool you, they are super professional, clean and detailed workers and no front office staff and other overhead to deal with, Hence the best price amongst all. Don and Steve installed a remote start on my 2015 Audi Q7. Based on reviews I read and a personal recommendation, I drove out to the shop from Brooklyn, NY. It was well worth the drive - the level of knowledge these two have is awesome. Their customer service is phenomenal. Other shops told me to stay away from a remote start on my car as it is extremely difficult to do properly and reliably. On the phone, Steve let me know that they had installed the system on a number of cars and said it would be no problem at all. Upon arriving you notice immediately that the shop is spotless and organized. After speaking to Don for a few minutes you realize that he is extremely knowledgeable about car electronics and he earns your trust. We discussed the various options, agreed on the system that they would use and down to the 'man cave' I went. This waiting room was a dream - wireless internet, large screen TV, extremely comfortable couch and a sound system that would blow the socks off the most serious audiophile. I worked from the waiting room while they did their magic. A few hours later, they let me know that the job was done. It wasn't easy compared to other jobs, but after they finished the install fully tested the system. Over and over again to ensure reliability. They showed me how to use the system and made sure I was absolutely comfortable with using everything before the trek back to Brooklyn. These guys are legit - no nonsense - treat customers as they should be treated. In addition to their excellent service - the prices that they charge are VERY fair. What's really amazing about these guys is they put as much work into wiring the system and making it perfect as they do with the beautification of the system itself I have gone to many shops and left with a hornet's nest of wires but Don and Steve put so much detail into the smaller things its upsetting I cant display it all. I have seldom encountered a business that lived up to it's total ratings, even on Yelp, that is until I visited here. Not only was the price quoted the total price paid, there were no last minute add-ons like some of the other shops I've visited. Everything from the greeting to the waiting area was truly VIP/Ambassador class. The installation was impeccably neat and clean and that's coming from someone who is admittedly a little OCD. When I encountered a little glitch due to a faulty plug (not the installers fault) and came back, the problem was quickly diagnosed and fixed, without fret or frown. It's hard to find businesses that truly impress nowadays but this may be one of the last of a dying breed and I'm all about protecting endangered species.
