I wanted to give a shoutout to Rich at Auto Connections/NJ who replaced the touch screen for my son's Cadillac ATS CUE entertainment system today, as the original screen had lost its' sensitivity to touch, rendering it completely useless.. Cadillac would only consider replacing and re-programming the entire unit for nearly $2,500, and every other place that I called wanted no part of even looking at it.. I called him yesterday, explained the problem, and he not only fixed it today in less than 3 hours, but he used the replacement screen that I had purchased myself on Amazon, and charged me only a modest amount for labor.. He picked out unit after looking at the car and discussing my budget, and installed it in my driveway before I even had the car registered! I am now downgrading my review back to one star. Last week, Rich contacted me via text message to explain to me the reason why he didn't contact me back. It was, and remains, a completely valid reason. He had some family issues to attend to and I agree that is more important. Unfortunately, his demeanor towards me since then has been confrontational. Rich has demanded that I remove this review and threatened to involve a lawyer in the matter. I have been nothing but understanding with him. Posting truthful and non-slanderous information to a public forum on the Internet regarding this business is protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States (see: Reno v. ACLU). In addition, I am of the opinion that Yelp! reviews are supposed to be honest reviews from customers regarding their interactions with businesses. I understand that Rich is upset about my leaving a 1-star review on his business. That is why I gave him three stars and the opportunity to earn my trust back. As I told him, judging by the other reviews on his business, he should have easily been able to earn some cash and get his other two stars. He chose not to do so. Instead, he threatened me with legal action for leaving an honest review of my interaction with his business on a public site. My final comment on this business is a word of caution to other potential customers. Rich is an interesting guy. If you are not prepared to be berated for disagreeing with his views on public discourse, I might suggest looking for a different installer, which is a shame because I hear he does good work. read more

I had bought speakers, a head unit, and a few other necessary installation pieces from Best Buy, but they were charging an exorbitant amount for the installation. I just came back from having a new car stereo installed in my old car, a 1993 Buick LeSabre. I have to say, Richie really knows what he's doing. He did the install in an hour. The price was good. Just like the reviews say, Rich is an awesome guy. I literally could have drank and cracked jokes with him all day if he wasn't there working on my car. He's attentive to details and tries to resolves issues from the install. To clarify by issues I mean that my system had some "white noise" coming through the speakers from the new receiver which was really annoying and Rich did his best to isolate and resolve the issue which came just from some wiring issues from the car manufacturer. He installed a couple of cable audio filters but before doing that tried to isolate the problem. Either way he takes pride in his work and was a pleasure to deal with. Based on reviews that I read and researching installation by a few retailers, I decided to contact Rich to install a new radio in my VW. He was totally accommodating to my schedule. I purchased all the components and dropped shipped them to his home. The next day I stopped on my way home from work and within an hour we were all done! It was a pleasure working with Rich from start to finish! I was looking to get an automatic starter and keyless entry installed on my 2003 Hyundai Tiburon, as well as replace both door actuators and a faulty trunk release switch (I provided parts), and fix the passenger door which wouldn't open from the inside. Rich is a true professional. He will work with you and around your schedule to do a stereo installation. He did an installation on my Toyota Prius with a Pioneer AppRadio4. I ordered everything from Crutchfield thinking I could do the job myself, well instructions for aftermarket components suck and different makes and models require more aftermarket parts to get work, so I did not get everything that I needed from Crutchfield. Auto Connections had everything needed to do the install right. Rich uses high quality 3M connectors and not the Home Depot junk. There was a mild pop from the radio (probably because of a pre-amp) Rich had the tools/components to fix it. I would use Rich again without hesitation. This is the way customer service is supposed to work! Rich came out to see what I wanted to do. In my case it was to upgrade the infotainment system in my RV. He talked me out of new speakers because he believed the new head unit would solve my problems and new speakers were a waste of money. We have a 2008 Infiniti G35x sedan and wanted to get a remote start installed for the summer and winter. It has a push button start, so I wanted to take it to an experienced installer who knew what they were doing. I shopped around in my town of Linden, NJ where there are many car alarm/remote start/tint installers to get an idea of what types of remote starts there are, how much it would cost, and most importantly, to gauge the knowledge of the installer. After learning of the different types of remote starts available and how much it would cost, I decided to also look online for other reputable Remote Start installers in NJ. I came across "Auto Connections" (I believe through Google) and saw all of the great reviews from Rich. I decided to contact Rich and right from the start, I realized why he had so many great reviews. Rich was very eager to answer all of the questions I had via email. Not only did he answer all my questions, but he gave me long, clear explanations. I felt very confident from the start that Rich knew what he was doing. His pricing was also little cheaper than the other installers here in Linden, so it was a no brainer to hire Rich for the job. What is also really great about Rich is that he comes to you and works on your car on-site! Unlike all of the other shops, in which you'd have to bring your car in or drop it off. With Rich, he came to our house and worked on it in our driveway! He had all of the tools and equipment that he needed right in his truck! Pretty awesome! What is also incredible is how fast and clean the install was (we got the Smart Start done which is when you can start your car using your smartphone). I expected the install to take at least half a day, but Rich was able to complete it in about an hour and a half. And it is not like he was rushing the job either, it was done rather quickly because I saw how Rich really knew what he was doing Once it was completed, the install was very clean (no wires sticking out or anything). I wanted to make sure our remote start would be functioning properly before I wrote a review, and it has! It's been about 6 weeks since the install and it has been great! Rich is a funny guy and he got my dash cam wired up incredibly fast. It was crazy to watch him work--he just casually peeled stuff back like the car was a banana, grumbled a little bit about how dash cams are stupid, and then magically closed it up like nothing ever happened. Believe every top review you read about Rich. His work is top notch, and he's a great person who will help you make good decisions about equipment you already have or are thinking of getting. I've visited most shops in NJ and the Philly metro area - all they are are places with a bunch of stuff. Sure, they can do good work too, but most were interested in selling me products I didn't need and a few quoted some outrageous installation prices because I wanted them to install equipment I already owned. Rich offered both but got right to a top-notch installation and setup to give me the best of my own gear. Who does that? Um, nobody does and certainly not nearly as professionally and attentatively. Trust me, save yourself some time and aggravation. Call Rich now - he's that good. My installation is completely hidden and looks like a factory production, but the sound is amazing. No expose wires. Factory cutouts used to perfection. Going to Rich's for installation worked out great for me, and I appreciated that he was able to accommodate a big hiccup in my schedule. The install took two trips, and he even worked to the last minute on day 2 of a two-part install. Rich came to my Marina last year to replace a few speakers and a head unit he did a fair job but one of the speakers on radar arch stopped working ...I had to repair myself..my opinion all speaker connections especially on a boat should be soldered...call him back a couple months ago to add speakers and amp...He came with his partner Eddie who actually decided what speakers I needed and he suggested jl brand..It was evident that Eddie had more experience in the Marine installation ...I purchased all the speakers and amp...rich couldn't give me a set price...He was at the boat last year and this year if you know your business you should be able to price a simple install...He told me cutting holes in my fiberglass is very difficult that it would take 2 days to complete job...and he wanted a deposit of 400 for material...long story short he didn't want to give me a Written price.. I hired someone else who did the job by himself in 5 1/2 hours and chargedme less than half the price..And materials were only 150...and all the speakers were soldered...I did like his partner Eddie who was courteous and professional unlike Rich who was just trying to be your friend so he can bring his son down to my marina and go for a free boat ride ..I just had a 10 in sub and another amp installed still way cheaper than Auto corruption...mind you this guy drove to my marina 100 miles away on a Friday before labor day weekend..it took him 2 hours to to the additional amp and 10 inch sub..now that's dedication to your business.if you want someone who does a outstanding job in the MARINE Installations use Rob from RIMS audio read more

I have used Rich twice for upgrading my 2003 Jeep Wrangler. He installed a powered subwoofer first and then later put in Hella Supertones horns.
