Meant to write this when I got my nose pierced here last year, and definitely thought I wrote a review already, but here goes. I'd been wanting to get my nose pierced for a while, but since it was my first real piercing (two lobe piercings on each side but I got those done at the mall so I feel like they don't count) I wanted to do a lot of research and find a place that I really liked. After doing a lot of research, I located Unicorn Ink, which looked bright and clean and had good reviews. I emailed to ask about pricing, since they don't have pricing information for piercings on the site, and they answered right away and were helpful and friendly. When the actual day of the piercing came, I was nervous, but entering the shop put me at ease right away. Unlike most tattoo parlors a little closer to me, Unicorn Ink is bright, clean-looking, and fun, the kind of place that I felt comfortable bringing my family into. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and got me the paperwork I needed right away. The piercing room was clean and I was actually able to watch Greg open a fresh needle, which definitely put me at ease- knowing the equipment being used on you is clean is really reassuring. He talked me through each step as he performed it, and the piercing was quick and nearly painless. The piercing has healed up super well: within six weeks I was able to change the jewelry. I have no problems with it now that I don't cause myself lol. One thing I would note is that they pierce with a screw-style piece of jewelry, not a hoop, so if that's what you're looking for you might have to go somewhere else. read more

After years of wanting a tattoo I finally got the chance to do so recently and after doing research I chose unicorn ink and specifically Angelo as the artist I wanted to go with. I spent months watching anything tattoo related on YouTube everything from vlogs, tips on getting tattoos, what not to do as a client etc, needless to say I was super hyped and excited. When I first emailed for my idea I was super annoying with it, I sent multiple emails, way more than necessary, and even changed my idea as a whole which I imagine must of been super annoying. Angelo was super professional and kind the whole time despite everything. The interior of unicorn ink is themed in a very welcoming way for me as it has all the things I'm into such as gaming, music, and movie decor. The place is very clean and organized as well. My first tattoo was a almost half sleeve Phoenix in black and grey and angelo did a great job. He also did it in a surprisingly quick time without lacking in detail, what I thought would be a 6 hour session he turned into 3 hours and made it look just as great as I imagined. I came back a few weeks later to get small piece in black and grey on my chest, with him again and he again amazed me with how he designed my idea to be way better than I imagined it to be, nailed the placement, the line work, and again completed it in a way smaller time frame than I originally thought. all the while being friendly and humorous. Unicorn ink is a fantastic experience from beginning to end. First, my fiancé came in for wedding ring tattoos. We both wanted to test the waters before going all in for bigger projects, and we figured the rings would be easy. Greg and Eric were honest with us about how hand tattoos deteriorate, but never tried to convince us not to get them. They were easy going, and allowed us to get exactly what we wanted. While we were getting tattooed, conversation was easy. After such a good experience, we booked an appointment the next week for a couple other pieces. She wanted a pretty basic fish/shark minimalistic drawing that she had seen in the check book at the Broadway Bistro. I wanted something a lot more complicated -- an abstract watercolor tattoo. I sent a few designs that I liked over to Greg and Eric, and they used them to come up with a few concepts. All of them were gorgeous, but I chose one, asked them to slightly alter the color scheme, and got it on my forearm. Once again, both of us couldn't have felt more comfortable throughout the whole process. I also wanted to go through without a break and Greg tattooed me for 2.5 hours without taking more than a couple minutes. We also found the price points to be exceedingly reasonable. In the weeks after, Greg was super responsive about aftercare questions. The tattoos look beautiful and they healed really nicely. Honestly, as long as these guys are open, I won't go anywhere else. I went with a friend on her birthday to get her first tattoo done by John Denmatt, and at the time I had been thinking of getting another tattoo but it was in the very early stages of considering getting some more ink. While hanging around I was looking through his posted work and I realized he was the perfect person to do my next tattoo. My grandfather has some old Air Force tattoos on his forearms and I wanted to get not the exact same tattoo but one very close, yet more feminine. He and I talked about it and then I told him I would definitely be in touch. Due to many obligations throughout the next year I kept putting it off until my birthday when my boyfriend presented me with a matte drawing, done by john, of what I had been describing. John went above and beyond to help my boyfriend surprise me with the tattoo I had been dreaming about for a few years at that point. We set up the appointment right away and I cannot say enough how easy John is to work with. From setting up the appointment to actually working on the tattoo, he is just so easy going and makes you comfortable! I am a bit nervous with needles but by the end of the tattoo I was completely relaxed and watching him work. Working with John was a great experience and I definitely will be going back to him should I decide to get any more tattoos! I Highly recommend unicorn ink. I am on a personal road to recovery, I had a finger tattoo I need covered. I first reached out through email and was told unfortunately they don't do finger tattoos. I was bummed... I searched around and just wasn't satisfied with other places in the area For what I personally was looking for. So I called and spoke with Melissa , and explained what happened prior, and maybe instead of a finger tattoo I could get a hand/ finger type tattoo. Melissa listened and was professional and educated me on why they really don't do these type of tattoos. I explained my personal story and she spoke with her boss. With whatever kind words she spoke. This is going to sound crazy, but yesterday I woke up from a dream wanting a tattoo. You see, my brother passed away a few months ago and he loved tattoos- and, for years tried to convince me to get one. I never did, you see - him and I were opposites in just about everything but our love for one another. Upon waking from this dream I came up with a design to keep my brother close to me - he's ALWAYS in my heart, but I wanted a gentle reminder everyday. Something that I can look at to remind myself to get out of the dark obis we call grief. I was able to find my brother's tattoo artist at Unicorn Ink. His name was Greg and I don't have the words to express my gratitude for the gift he gave me yesterday - I felt as if my brother was there as he talked me through the process. I've always had a tremendous fear of getting a tattoo- I don't do very well with pain, lol. I was actually shocked when Greg said he was done - you see, he kept me at ease by telling me stories of my brother. I was so focused on Greg and my brother that I almost forgot about the tattoo. In the end, although my tattoo is small - it's a great big reminder of the love my brother and I had for each other. Got my first tattoo done by Nick, here at Unicorn Ink at the end of August, and he did a phenomenal job. He truly brought my idea to life, from a lousy drawing idea I handed him and made it into something beautiful! He did such a fantastic job that at the beginning of this month (October 2019) I went back to him and got two more tattoo's done by him and have a fourth one planned for November with Angelo! While there I have also gotten my vertical labret, septum, medusa, and an industrial piercing all done by Mike! Everyone there has always been super nice to me and patient because Lord only knows with my nerves, I can be a pain in the neck with the 50,000 questions and a lousy sense of explaining what I want clearly! Not once did anyone show signs of frustration or boredom, which is really important to me! I have gone elsewhere for piercings in the past and had to deal with piercer's who suffer from God complexes, so it was nice coming here and having a safe, fun, clean, sterile, friendly environment! I would highly recommend Unicorn Ink for all your tattoo and piercing needs! Got my second tattoo done by Greg. I Was looking for a watercolor tattoo and when I found Unicorn Ink by searching through Google, I saw Greg's work. Based on what I have seen from other artists, he was the best for that style I wanted. When I had my consult it was pretty simple and straight forward. I noticed the shop was very clean and neat. I had to reschedule a couple times but he was able to accommodate. At the time of my appointment, he was very detailed oriented. Once I was sitting the the chair he took the time to show me the unopened needles he was going to use. He even took the time to explain the gun he was using. He answered every question I had. He did an awesome job with my tattoo!!! I am very happy with how it came out! I was so nervous. I had envisioned my tattoo for a long time and had an exact picture in my mind as to how I wanted it to look and he fulfilled my expectations and then some. He finished ahead of quoted time and below quoted price. Not only is he an amazing artist but a nice guy too. I'm going to add to the list of people raving about Unicorn Ink. I have 4 tattoos, one of which is very small and on the left side of my ribs. I got that tattoo at another shop and my ribs were bruised and painful for over a month. I knew I wanted a watercolor tattoo and was having a tough time finding a place in the Boston area with artists that are comfortable with the style. I stumbled upon Unicorn Ink and sent them an email with photos and link. I got a response back with some feedback and suggestions and I was sold. I set up an appointment for a few months down the road and got my tattoo done in late January. When I came in for the tattoo, I was a teeny bit nervous. The whole process was so easy - Greg really understood what I was looking for and came through- we made some changes to the stencil design, resized it a few times and found the perfect spot. He asked me for my opinion and preferences and kept checking in on me during the tattoo and after. I was so happy with the results and I'm even more happy with the healing. I recently had the pleasure of getting a tattoo done by Harley and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. I cannot say enough about the guys at Unicorn Ink. I just got my first tattoo and this place is incredible from the ambiance when you walk in, to the cleanliness, to the staff. The whole team at Unicorn are great to work with and extremely friendly. I had the pleasure of working with Angelo and cannot say enough about the quality of care and customer service he provides. He walked me through the process and assured me we would be going through this together. He helped with deciding between two photo realistic wolves and I have to say I couldn't be happier with the one we chose. The detail is incredible and it looks extremely realistic. I came in here for my third tattoo. My first two were each from a different (and good) place, but Unicorn Ink has definitely become my favorite. The parlor is clean and comfortable, and I got help quick. The whole place was clean, including the equipment. (Meaning a brand new needle of course.) I was tattooed by Nick. I knew I wanted an outline with a galaxy pattern. I gave him a rough idea, he gave me a rough idea on how it would look, and I expressed to him that I'm giving him free range on the galaxy pattern. You guys, he did NOT let me down. It came out more beautiful than I imagined, even my grandma (who's bitter but not unreasonable about tattoos) couldn't stay mad when she saw it. Grandma approved tattoos, guys! Grandma. F*cking. Approved. The best part is that Nick was super easy and fun to talk to. I felt like this was a close friend giving me a tattoo, and I even hugged him on my way out. I will have to come back to this place. I've never been this comfortable and excited about my ink before. Getting three tattoos from here, they definitely deserve a 5-star rating. Each time was with Greg, who I believe is the owner of the place. The staff here is very friendly, and will give you their insight if you ask for it. Usually I do because they are the experienced artists, and the advice they give and the ideas they come up with are phenomenal. Greg is an awesome guy and funny too. The gentleman at the front desk is so sweet and will listen to what you have to say. These guys know what they're doing, and they're doing a good job at it. Anyway, I get many compliments on his work, and I myself admire them very much (I literally stare at my tats in the mirror, I love them so much). The place where the tattoo is being done is very clean, and very well sanitised. I was actually impressed with how clean it was, whoever does the cleaning in the studio definitely needs to clean my room for me. Whether I get another tattoo or piercing is uncertain, but this will definitely be the spot. Keep up the awesome work! read more

What a great find through Yelp! I already knew what I wanted done and wanted to check out shops in RI while I was up here from NYC. Yelp deal was $150 value for $90. I was too curious to not check it out. Stepping in the shop, I was impressed with the facility and had a good conversation with one of the owners, Dave. He's not one of the tattoo artists, but is a graphic designer. He helped me get my design onto paper down to exact measurement. Jim did my work and I was impressed with his art. Considering how much I saved through Yelp and the prices already being WAY better than a similar quality shop in NYC, I got a second piece done on a whim. I'm probably going to schedule future work around my trips to RI from now on. While I was a little worried they didn't already have reviews on Yelp, considering how new they are and how positive my experience was, I'm happy to be the first review (and I don't do much reviewing). Best tattoo experience I could have asked for. A friend recommended Unicorn Ink to me when I told her I was looking to do a larger color piece (all my previous tattoos were small, simple, black ink). Any nervousness I had at all disappeared as soon as I walked into the shop. It's by far the cleanest, most welcoming shop I've ever set foot in. Very cool, comfortable set up. From the get go, everyone was very friendly. I was greeted as soon as I walked in both times (for my consultation and the appointment itself). Greg's work is unbelievable. I got a tattoo of an animated character (Toki from Metalocalypse) and it came out PERFECTLY. The detail is incredible, the colors are awesome. I really couldn't be happier with the result. I love going to Mikey for piercing, the only place I will go now honestly! Came across unicorn ink after a rather bad experience at another piercer and was really apprehensive at first because of it but everyone there is truly awesome at making you feel welcome and like a person not just a client. Mikey is so friendly, takes his time to go over what you are gonna feel and after care really well along with taking his time to talk to you, this really takes the nerves away. Someone like me who can get really nervous before getting a piercing this is really helpful! After going there a few different piercing, my second holes, helix and now tragus yesterday I wasn't really nervous! One of my biggest thing is he very honest about what will work best for you! My best friend and I were really set on getting a tattoo and our first attempt at finding a satisfying tattoo parlor failed, however when we were searching for more tattoo parlors on google, we came across some pictures of art the unicorn ink has done. The tattoos looked amazing and we read some reviews that said it was a great place, so we decided that Unicorn ink was definitely going to be the place where we would get our very first tattoos done. I cannot even emphasize the amazing customer service they had. David, the owner, was very friendly and walked us through the procedure of coming up with a design. Greg was our tattoo artist and he was also very friendly and funny and he helped us through the process of the actual tattoo. Unicorn Ink staff went out of their way to squeeze me in last minute (due to a late cancellation). Greg was my artist, he checked in with me multiple times about my ideas, wants, and needs regarding my tattoo. He took the time to ask me questions and resized the tattoo stencil five different times to fit my needs. When doing this he demonstrated consistent patience and excellent customer service. Greg was considerate enough to discuss the bruise I had on my arm where I wanted the tattoo by openly having a discussion with me about his concerns of possible bruising after. (I took accountability and went through with the tattoo - will update if any bruising does/doesn't occur). As a customer I felt well informed and taken care of. I recently went to Unicorn Ink for my first tattoo. I had googled tattoo shops closer to my house and wasn't super impressed with the reviews/pictures and was feeling underwhelmed. I expanded my search into Rhode Island and was psyched when I found Unicorn Ink. The name alone caught my eye along with their logo. While looking through the artist's work I was loving all the Zelda tattoos that people go to them for and just overall interesting work. I e-mailed them and got a response in under 24 hours. I made an appointment for a consultation, met with Nick and showed him what I wanted and made an appointment to have it done. Nick did an awesome job, as soon as he started I was no longer nervous. It has been a week and there has been no issues and the tattoo looks as good as it was on the first day. I am literally obsessed now and will be reaching out to Nick again for more.
