I took my daughter here to receive her 1st nose piercing. The place was very clean & professional and very customer oriented. The lady that pierced my daughter's nose was so very nice & welcoming. They asked for the proper paperwork to note that she was underage. I would totally recommend this place 100%. Went with my probable future niece to get our tragus pieced last Friday night. The place was hopping a bit but piercings do not take long. The waiting area is very nice. The forms needed are clear. The guy who did our piercings was great. Very nice and chill. The room is quiet and sort of zen. It did not hurt at all. They offer a diamond tipped stud or hoop. When I asked about changing the earring in the future, he said we need to go back as it isn't something you can really change yourself. Yesterday I decided on a whim I wanted both my nostrils pierced. I had called around asking for pricing and other information. This place let me do a walk-in, which is convenient, and it was the most affordable! I was a bit scared seeing as most shops won't charge just $30 for a piercing, but I bit the bullet and am pleasantly surprised. I spent about twenty minutes MAX in the shop from the moment I walked in the door. I didn't get the name of the dude who pierced me, but I appreciate the extra moment he spent to make sure both were evenly aligned. I hardly felt a thing and have experienced no issues as of yet. The only thing I'd suggest is to go into a little bit more detail. The guy just handed me a piece of paper on the way out and didn't say much else. I personally have a lot of piercings, so I already know what I need to do, but I know not everyone has this information and may want some personalized information from their piercer just for clarification. I'm not sure if he noticed that I had some other piercings and knew I'd be fine or if all clients are treated this way. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just an extra precaution that I'm used to since I've been to a lot of other shops and was surprised I didn't encounter it here. So, slight caution to other people to do some of their own research and speak up if they have questions if they decide to come here, just in case. I came here for my first three tattoos. The first two were good. They were small so nothing to really be able to mess up. My third tattoo was done by a different guy who completely messed up on my calve tattoo. He claims that the ink spread but I went to multiple different tattoo artists and they all said the same thing that he used too big of a needle or whatever phrasing they used. Luckily, he touched it up for free which made it look a little bit more decent. Now I have to spend more money to get it fixed but I'm not going here. The only reason I'm not giving it one star is because the piercer here just saying absolutely great. I got my nose pierced by her and she was awesome. Super nice and did a great job. read more

I got my helix done here around 6 months ago, had problems with it from the start. Everyone I showed said that the placement looked off, it was very far forward, I was told that this was because of a major blood vessel in the ear. Also, I wear glasses and it interferes with them a lot because I was told to take my glasses off during my appointment, which I was told is not right. When I first got the piercing it was very swollen for the first few days which I thought was normal, but then the swelling never went down and I couldn't even move the piercing. I followed the care guide perfectly and it never went down. A few months after getting the piercing, my ear got so swollen the earring just popped out of my ear and the hole closed. I wasted almost $70 at this place would not recommend. read more

I went here in December to get my nose ring fixed, and after that experience I knew I would be back to add to my tattoo collection The place is super clean, and the staff are super friendly. You can't go wrong at a place like that. We were in the downstairs studio which was so relaxing, especially with the tunes blasting First off, Im pretty indecisive so I need to thank Drew for being patient and understanding my vision. I was very happy with my experience here... at first. A friend and I had our nipples pierced, and everything went great. Week after the piercing, the bar is digging into my skin. We go back in to get longer bars, to which we were told the piercings look fine and don't need longer bars. It gets worse within 2 days, and I want a second opinion because the piercings are hurting and I don't want a nasty keloid. We go to an APP certified shop in Providence to which we are told longer bars will not help, and the piercings are too deep and won't heal. Recommend to take out and let heal. (The other place did not try to upsell or anything so I trusted them) I think the piercers here need updated education. Called Sin Alley to let them know and they dismiss me and say they will re pierce for free. But I don't trust them anymore honestly. I do not recommend a piercing here, do yourself a favor and pay the extra money to go to a reputable APP certified shop! Would post pictures, but it would be NSFW read more

Came here a bit ago for a belly button piercing. The piercer used a bar that was too short, so the area got infected. Thankfully when I went back, a different piercer changed it for free. However, The open wound from the short bar has now left a dark scar by the piercing. read more

I have a few tattoos, and I have gone to a few different places, some I'll never return to, and some I have really been impressed with. Sin Alley is definitely the latter. I had a tattoo in mind that was small and simple but has a lot of meaning to me. When the artist I had seen previously didn't have availability, I walked into Sin Alley with a friend who had been pierced there before and enjoyed her experience. I just wanted to talk to them, and wasn't 100% set on getting tattooed that day. Less than 20 minutes later Drew had drawn up the design I had wanted, adding in the two extra elements I asked for. It looked exactly how I wanted, so I decided to just go for it. Sin Alley is clean and spacious, especially the downstairs where I was tattooed. Drew was quick and efficient, and he was also laid back and easy to talk to. And best of all, I love my tattoo. It looks exactly how I wanted it to, and the price was incredibly reasonable. I have a big coverup I am looking to get done in the next few months and Sin Alley is definitely a place I'd consider for that job... And any tattoos I'd get in the future! read more

Got my eyebrow pierced here awhile ago, she (billie) was rude and put too small of a piercing in. i went back to get it fixed, and when i returned home with a larger size, it fell out almost immediately. she said 'did you touch it' i said no.... she said 'don't touch it.' um. this is a piercing i would otherwise sleep on... it's not my fault she didn't screw it in all the way. even tipped her to fix it. just rude and even now my eyebrow piercing is much too large because she put too big of a gauge trying to fix her mistake. tattoos there are just fine, nothing special. would rather go to ink me. thanks but no. read more

Came to sin alley today to get a nose piercing. Was supposed to meet a friend, but she couldn't make it, so I went at it alone. When I first walked in, a staff member approached me, asked what I was looking for, and told me to fill out the necessary paperwork. Ok. Done. As I continued to wait for my friend (who later texted me that she couldn't make it), another staff member (presumably the owner/manager??) was sitting at the desk, watching YouTube videos. I tried to strike up conversation, asking him about proper cleaning procedures, etc. He was welcoming to MY conversation, but then the phone rang and he said "geez, can't I just watch my video!?" Made me feel like I also had been "inconveniencing" him. That said, he was helpful and informative. Once I realized my friend wasn't coming, I said to the guy watching videos, "well, she's obviously not coming, so I guess I should just go ahead and do this." He literally sat there watching his video and didn't even respond. At this point, I was waiting for the first guy who greeted me....he finally came out again (he was in the middle of tattooing another customer). He promptly led me into the piercing room, gave me options, made me feel comfortable and proceeded to pierce me. I've had other piercings before, and I'll admit that he MAYBE should've taken a few extra seconds to sanitize and fully clean my nose, but he did a great job. He was accommodating and understanding. And here I am, a mere 12 hours later, and I am experiencing literally 0 pain. Even when I (accidentally) touch it. He followed up with proper care and cleaning guidelines, and I was on my way. He was FANTASTIC. I wish I knew his name. The owner/manager (so I presume he was) could take a lesson from his employee. I'll certainly be back though. Great experience. read more

I went there with a specific vision for my tattoo and told the artist what I wanted. All I wanted was wild vines on my HAND to arm and he did the most thick basic football shaped leaves. Even though I was commenting before and during about my concerns that it's not what I wanted the artist continued to ignore me. Brushing away my options and refused to sketch what he was doing before permanently putting it on my body. Didn't even bother to stencil. I didn't end up paying but they refused to fix it. I went to get my second holes done today, because I wanted to get them done by someone who knew what they were doing rather than going to the mall. I had never been in here before, but I read good reviews. My dad was nervous because tattoo shops get the rep of being gross or with rude people or whatever. We both walked in and were greeted really nicely, and the whole shop looks really neat. Once I filled out the paperwork, I was led to a room and shown my choices for earrings. The guy was really nice and told me everything he was doing. It was quick and virtually painless. He then told me how to take care of my ears until they fully heal! horrible. absolutely horrible service i received. my now boyfriend does tattoos and he can't even believe what is permanently scarred into my body. the art work looks fine but the man that did it was extremely heavy handed. here i am four months later with basically a welt on my arm. you know what they told me ? DO NOT LET BILLIE PIERCE YOU. My girlfriend and I went in almost three months ago because I had decided to finally get my industrial piercing done after years of wanting it. My girlfriend was also going to get a piercing. I went first. When my girlfriend could not decide whether she wanted the industrial or her septum done, Billie told her she had 5-10 minutes to make a decision as she brought me in. She would not allow my girlfriend in anywhere in the room while I had my piercing done. After both of out piercings were finished, because I was new to cartilage piercings, I asked if it was normal that I heard a slight popping noise to which Billie (rudely) replied "you shouldnt, I didn't go near your ear drum" which confused me. She rushed us in and out for the piercings. Since then I have seen another piercer because I still continue to have issues with pain and occasional discharge from the piercing. He is a piercer I know personally and trust the most of any piercer. He has told my girlfriend and myself that our piercings were done incorrectly. As it turns out, Billie told us both to take our glasses off while piercing us so now our jewelry constantly hits our glasses when in and therefore messes with the piercing. So bottom line...DO NOT LET BILLIE PIERCE YOU. read more

i am very disappointed with the service we had. I took my daughter here 4 days ago to get a daith piercing and the lady was kind of harsh but whatever. when she put the earring in my daughters ear apparently she pulled a little (I think anyperson would pull a little as it hurts) and the earring must have ripped my daughters ear. Fast forward a couple days and the ear is hurting a real lot..we have been cleaning it 5 times a day. last night my daughter woke up at 230am in a ton of pain-along with a 5 month migraine- and we had to go get the earring taken out today. I think it is infected bc my daughters face is swollen down to her jaw and she cant chew.. the lady ofcourse didn't want to admit that she made a mistake and said: oh it looks like it tore and maybe she did it in her sleep. that's a total lie as my daughter does not sleep on that side and has been extremely careful the last couple of days. the lady was not only rude and blamed it on us but I would think she would have been a little nicer as this thing was 50.00 and it was clearly the mistake of the person piercing. I remember her saying to my daughter -you cant move or pull away- and she was forcing the earring in as she was saying it. I know that's when this happened.. she was rude when we went the other day and now today. I am very disappointed as I heard good things about this place and now I have a daughter in more pain than she went in with and an infection bc the lady neglected to tell us that day. also I am out 50.00 and it has only been 3 days.. if it was possibly our fault then ok I will shut up but it wasn't and I am livid. now we have to go to a doctor appointment and most likely antibiotics along with more money and time wasted with a child in severe pain. totally unacceptable. I never write reviews but I wanted to the other day and I held off and today was unacceptable and I would not recommend this place. Last Saturday I got my 1st tattoo here. It was sort of on a whim...I was with my friend the night before "pricing places" but I had already had a place in mind, but when I got here the staff was super friendly and the shop was clean. They also do great work with competitive prices...just like they said they would on their website haha! Mike Johnson did my friend and my tattoo and we are both super happy! I've already been getting compliments on it and it's in the peeling stage! So I can't wait until it heals up and looks even better :) I'd highly recommend this place to anyone...Like I mentioned, this was my 1st tattoo and I was nervous, but Mike was really awesome about the entire process and kept checking in to make sure I was feeling fine and all that. I wanted my nipple pierced, and I was looking for a place that wasn't sketchy, didn't charge too much more for a barbell than a ring, and someone with a great personality, and Sin Alley was perfect. The price was the same for a barbell as it would have been with a ring (score! this was the only place that i found that did this), and Mike was amazing. The shop was spotless, and he was very professional and friendly, which made me feel so comfortable while getting my piercing. I was a little nervous because he said that he had never done a diagonal piercing before, but it turned out exactly how I wanted it. It didn't bleed at all, and is healing like a dream. If I ever decide to get the other side done, I will definitely make the trip all the way down to Pawtucket so that I can get it done by him. I wouldn't recommend anyone else. read more

I returned today to get my third hole done on my ears and was so happy to see how clean it was. The staff greeted me as soon as I walked in and were incredibly nice and welcoming. Well, I thought this place might be OK for a dive tattoo shop, but it doesn't even measure up to that. I can deal with profanity, although every every other word out of their mouth was F**k this or that. Sure I can even deal with the loud drunk bar flies shouting from the bar next store, and the wide open "studio" atmosphere. What was so awful was that after I spoke to the seemingly most coherent person in there-I put a deposit down, set up an appointment for a consultation and was told I would have artwork drafted. Well nothing was done when I came to the appointment! I brought a tattoo artist friend who was visiting from out of town to help me tweak the work (unbeknown to the guy at sin alley) and the guy had nothing drawn, no idea what we even spoke about, hit on my friend and only talked about getting f**king hammered at a show in Boston. I was in shock by the blatant disrespect and idiocy of these people! My friend told them to refund my deposit and asked if they even bothered with a spore test once a month and the guy had no clue what she was talking about. My friend was livid by their ignorance! I thank god my friend was with me to chide me on finding such an awful place, then help me find a reputable and very cordial shop in the area who now gets all of my business. Avoid this place like the plague unless you desire very poor service by ignorant fools. read more
