What a fun place to hang out with friends on a weekend night! Upon entering you're welcomed with a vintage circus themed interior! You'd think that was all, but the downstairs is even crazier and wilder! There's a row of pin ball machines and a few arcade games to play from (shooting, basketball,etc) My fav was definitely the drinks though; they were all so fun and since I'm quite a light drinker and don't actually like the taste of alcohol, the drinks were perfect for me. Always a fun vibe with lovers, friends, or anything inbetween. I love how the space is decorated. I wish my bedroom had that zebra print everywhere. Drinks are good, not cheap, but it's Seattle and they are fun. Door staff is nice always. I had never tried the food there before but my luvah ordered the garlic fries and they were actually rly good. We shared a garlicky smooch with the DJ rocking out in the background. I've been here twice now and I'm always impressed with how cool the decorations are. It's one of the most visually fun and unique bars I've ever been to. I love the whole carnival-meets-fantasy vibe with the vintage arcade, murals and bold colors! The food is always good, especially if you're going there after another bar or club that doesn't serve food. Unique interior! It's almost like a carnival! Quite dim on the inside. The drinks were good and unique too. I like the cocktails a lot. Unicorn Jizz is my favorite at the moment and Passion Quest as well. If you like fruity and not too strong drinks, I'd recommend those. The service was quick. The drinks look a bit similar to each other so not too noticeable difference but the tastes are different. The green tea shots were good here too. Such a unique find! Everything in here is so trippy and there are surprises in every corner of the bar. Not to mention the bar downstairs has even more fun like arcade games and a Photo Booth. We happened upon it during drag bingo night and was it was such a fun time! The best thing about it are the drinks.. we had the unicorn jizz and it tasted like straight up juice. Unicorn is such a fun, whimsical cocktail bar to visit in the Capitol Hill area. I love the colorful and unique interior. There are bright pastel colors everywhere, and it's carnival/animal themed. My friend and I stopped in on Friday at midnight and it wasn't too busy. My friend ordered the Unicorn Jizz cocktail (house made mango vodka, triple sec, oj, sour, grenadine, lemon lime soda). I ordered the Mauve Mullet cocktail (tequila, strawberry syrup, papaya guava puree, lime, lemon lime soda). We both loved our drinks and thought they tasted similar. I liked mine more though because it was more sour, and I love sour drinks! There's additional space to hang out downstairs with booths, tables and chairs, a claw machine, and arcade games. They also serve food, but we weren't hungry so it did not appeal to us. It was apparently featured in the Thrift Shop by Macklemore music video; I found that out when I went downstairs and came across a sign mentioning it. WORST.SERVICE.EVER. EMPLOYEES STOLE OVER $200 AND RUINED MY DAUGHTERS 21ST BIRTHDAY!!! After extensive searching, my LGBTQ daughter and friends decided this would be the best place to have her 21st birthday party. I reached out to them a couple weeks ahead of time to inquire about our plans and what they offered, as their website states they are a fun place to celebrate your birthday and there are different "events" every night. I never heard back from them. The website should say, "You can come here on your birthday, if you want to." I was more celebrated and catered to at my 5 year-old McDonald's birthday party in the 80s. SAD! The 6 of us set up downstairs with balloons, cake, presents, etc., OBVIOUSLY celebrating a birthday. We were completely ignored, and there were less than five other people downstairs the whole time we were there, because there were no "events". I made the mistake of asking the bartender for some glasses of water because the kids wanted to pace themselves between drinks. They made a face and said "We don't have that." Confused, I asked, "You don't have water and glasses?" They got irritated and said, "We do, but we don't do THAT!" and made me purchase 6 bottles of water. With the exception of pouring the drinks, I literally waited on our group from start to finish myself. I also asked for, and kept, a running total of what we ordered because I didn't trust them after the way they treated us. When I paid, I left the 15% tip I felt obligated to, instead of the 25% I normally leave for group occasions, for the SERVICE. Apparently, they were so pleased with the service they provided us, that they not only ran my total (with tip) through twice, but they DOUBLED the tip for themselves the second time. This overdrew my bank account by over $200, which I didn't find out until we attempted to carry out the weekend plans for her birthday, which had to be cancelled mid-way through. My attempts to get a response from them have been ignored for a week. I live paycheck to paycheck. Saving the money for this birthday wasn't easy, but it was obviously (supposed to be) a very special occasion. Now I get to spend hours on the phone, during my workday breaks, battling it out with my bank over the fraudulent charges and overdraft fees. THANKS UNICORN for completely ruining my daughter's milestone birthday and stealing what I had left of my paycheck to live on for the next two weeks. I'll be filing reports with the police and the Better Business Bureau. What a disgrace to the community! read more

Obsessed with how cool of a spot this is! My friend and I came around 6pm on a Thursday to check this spot out and grab some drinks. The atmosphere is really fun and unique! Think creepy cool carnival vibes. Their drinks are fairly priced. We ordered at the bar downstairs because we went their for their Thursday trivia night so we also wanted to grab some food. I got their tropical lemonade and my friend ordered a cocktail. The bartender was really nice. For food we got an order of their tots and chicken strips. The chicken strips tasted great, but they are skinny so you can definitely order more of them if you're looking for a full meal. We were a little disappointed because the night we went, the trivia person happened to be a no-show. Of course, not the bar's fault and we hope that person is ok. Everyone I've talked to about Unicorn seems to share the same sentiment- a rite of passage, if you will. Well, only this time, I am older than the average 20 year old and don't drink as much as I used to, but I still had a blast. I came here on a Friday night for their "Lashes" drag show and it did not disappoint. The FREE show was held on their lower floor and was the perfect, intimate spot for a fun show with electrifying performances. It was great seeing the queens strut their stuff and interacting with the crowd. The local drag scene here in Seattle is fierce. Drinks here were good but not as strong as I think a lot of people make it tout to be. I ordered their Passion Quest ($12) which was combined passion fruit vodka with guava and lime soda to create a fizzy drink. The prices here aren't bad - considering I got my partner a $3 Shirley Temple, which seems like a steal in today's economy. The bartenders and staff here were extremely friendly and I loved that it never felt overly crowded inside Unicorn. I'll definitely be back again for more shows in the future. read more

One of the most popular bars in cap hill / Seattle, and for good reason. There's plenty of space inside and two floors, so you should be able to find yourself a table. The decorations here are basically circus themed, and it's certainly a unique vibe. I got the passion fruit guava cocktail and a jello shot this time, and both were great. The drinks are pretty sweet and not that strong, but are known for their unique names and more affordable prices. It can get quite loud inside where you may have to scream which can be a little annoying, but that's pretty much expected for any environment like this. I've also come for bingo night which I must say.. is a lot. Expect to have to say some weird things and be mildly uncomfortable haha but its all part of the experience here ;) read more

This was my first experience at a gay/drag/LGBTQ+ centric bar. I also have to admit that it wasn't until the drag show started that I realized it. The signage didn't tip me off. The decor didn't tip me off. The drink menu with things like Unicorn Jizz didn't tip me off. It was the simultaneous beginning of the drag show and my noticing the claw machine was full of silicone phalluses that made me realize what I'd walked into. I had only told me wife we should pop in because I'd heard they had fun drinks and carnival food. Hand to God I thought it was just a carnival themed place. I even told my kids that next time we were all in Seattle we'd go here and get corn dogs. I will not, as it turns out, be taking my kids! My wife found this whole thing very amusing. As for the show, I have to go with her opinion. She's been to them before and commented that while these performers were largely just lip-syncing, she would have expected much more physical performances or actual singing based on what she's seen at other venues. The drinks were decent and fun but mostly filled with very little bite. The service from the bartenders was awesome and while the music was blasting, it wasn't uncomfortably loud even for my old, white, straight ears. Didn't try the food, didn't play the arcade games, and didn't use the restroom, but all those things did exist. It was fun, and would probably be more fun if I had been there with a group. I remember coming here back in 2016 because when I walked back in recently you couldn't forget not being there because of the circus decor and atmosphere. This bar was one of the only bars that had really good AC during the heat wave. Especially downstairs! When we got there we got a round of shots upstairs and all of the alcohol was warm. Once we moved downstairs it felt so much better. We got a round of drinks and they have food too. I ordered some popcorn and fries for thee group and we devoured it. They also have arcade games downstairs and out of all the other bars we've been to, they have a working Photo Booth! The staff are friendly and they host drag brunches there. Jello shots were only $4 when I came at 7 pm on a Friday night. Not sure what the flavor was... but it was blue and had a layer of something creamy on top... like whipped cream? Not sure... A place you go once but never again. Loveee the art and decor, however I would avoid the arcade and Photo Booth. We enjoyed the skee-ball game but the other two we tried just ate our quarters. One game, the one to the wall by skee-ball started but said no ball/missing ball and ended without allowing us to play. The deer shooting game makes you sign up with phone number and/or email and never sends you anything and again you don't get to play. Photo Booth is fine but if you aren't paying attention you will get ripped off. You first pay five dollars and take your photos. It will show the result and another five dollar pay screen as if you need to pay again over your photo. Check outside the booth for your pics first lol it already print, so don't pay again. We noticed two groups get finagled. Food and drinks were okay. Service was okay but some employees seemed mad or didn't want to be there. Definitely a fun place to go to, especially if you have a sweet tooth, but unfortunately I am not a huge fan of sweets. I took a look at their drink menu and nothing on it seemed appealing to me. All the cocktails had some sort of soft drink like a sprite, and I wasn't in the mood to have a soda at that time. Their shots looked like you're basically getting a super mini cocktail in a shot glass for almost the same price as a regular cocktail, and their drop shots cost as much as their regular shots. I went for a beer instead with the Rainier Lager ($6), which sucks because I like trying out places' unique cocktails that they have. I'm not sure if you have to bus your own tables or if they clean it up for you after you leave, but since I saw a lot of empty tables with empty food baskets and glasses I'm going to assume that they clean it up for you. If that's the case, then they don't clean it well enough considering the first table we sat it had a top so sticky that it transferred from my arm to my hands to my phone when I kept touching everything. We moved to another table after that. Cute theme and it seems like it would been really fun if they have an event going on, but it doesn't seem like it's for me. read more

I was in the neighborhood with a free evening so I figured I should stop by. It's definitely worth popping in - the theme is over the top, the bar is so colorful and fun, and the crowd will keep you feeling young. There's something to look at everywhere your eyes rest. As for food and drink, I got the veggie dog - $9. When the bartender asked if I wanted tots I assumed it was included, but it's actually an extra $3. Not bad for tots but I felt a little up sold. The dog is very large and the portion of tots is too. They taste just how you'd expect! It's slightly elevated carnival junk food, after all. I also tried the Unicorn Jizz cocktail - $11 and the Cheap Date - $9. Both were good but incredibly sweet and sugary. As a visitor to Seattle, this place made a great stop.
