Just want to update my review and say that we love this dentist. Dr. Guerrero and her staff are so friendly and know how to work with kids. My kids are 7 and 3 and they have been going here since they could and love getting their teeth cleaned and removed! My husband and I have been going here for more than 10 years already. They are also pet friendly! Love the cleanliness and overall friendliness of. Update*** staff is so great. They are so patient with my rambunctious kids. My son had no nap and was "scared" but the dental assistant offered balloons and pretty much was able to clean his teeth. Great customer service! read more

First, let me start by saying I have had the same dentist for the last 40+ years...basically my whole life. When he retired two years ago, I was extremely anxious to find a new dentist for myself and my family. After lots of research, I found that Union City Dental had great reviews and decided to give them a shot. We were able to schedule an initial visit for the whole family ( myself, husband & son). We saw Dr. Chow on a Saturday. Over all the appointment was okay. Though at one point in the middle of my visit, he said "I'll be right back" and then got up and was gone for almost 10 minutes, he did the same thing when it came time to see my son. So that was a little awkward. My husband and I were told we needed to return to deal with 1 cavity each and also had some gum recession on a "few" teeth that would require fillings..ok, no big deal. On our next visit, we saw Dr. Guerrero, and ended up requiring more work as Dr. Chow didn't catch all the issues...what was supposed to be 2 teeth on my husband ended up being 10! My one cavity was 2 and not so little after all! Plus, since they only had one doctor my husband had to wait until I was done and ended up being there almost 2 hours to finish up his work. I unfortunately needed to return for a third visit. That 3rd visit was scheduled for 4 pm, I left work early to be there. First thing when I get there, I'm told "you didn't sign this paper the last time." NO...no one told me I needed to sign anything so that's not on me! At 4:15 I was put in the chair, then I waited, and waited and WAITED...there were two other patients in chairs and one doctor....at 4:45, I took my bib off and told them I was leaving...I hadn't even seen the doctor yet! I will say that the staff and doctor are very nice....but this is NOT professional behavior. Don't overbook yourselves, it isn't fair to your patients. Our time is just as valuable. read more

For the past 2 months I have been oil pulling as a natural alternative to going to the dentist. I read that oil pulling can be beneficial for receding gums, cavities, and plaque. However, after doing it daily for 20 minutes everyday, even twice a day some days I didn't see no improvement. In fact I noticed my teeth getting worse. My gums were receding at a alarming rate and there was so much plaque build up around my teeth. This past Saturday my upper gums started to bleed after just eating lunch. I panicked a bit, had a surge of anxiety and decided to make an appointment to visit the dentist ASAP. I was referred to Dr. Guerrero from my mother-in-law who raves about her work. Unfortunately they do not take Medi-Cal but because I trusted in my mother-in-law's recommendation I decided to still go with them and pay out of pocket. The receptionist told me it was going to be $252 for a cleaning and an examination. She even gave me a 10% discount, which I was so grateful for. I made the appointment right away and they told me they could see me as soon as Monday. When I arrived to my appointment, I noticed that their office was super clean and had a modern medical aesthetic. I didn't know what to expect when I was waiting in the waiting room, as I had not been to the dentist in so long. I was quite nervous because I was hoping that my gums and teeth were fixable. After filling my first time patient paperwork I was called in into one of the rooms. The dental hygienist was friendly and understanding and asked me if I was ready for her to start cleaning my teeth before she proceeded. Before she began she let me know that if at any point I felt pain to let her know by raising my right hand. She took before pictures and then started to work on my teeth. However, just a few minutes in, she stopped and called in Dr. Guerrero. I think my teeth had so much plaque build up that a regular cleaning would not be sufficient. Dr. Guerrero suggested I opt out of the regular cleaning and go straight for a deep cleaning, because it looked like I needed the deep cleaning anyways. She said that by doing this I would save the extra couple of hundred dollars and the real issue with my gums and teeth would be resolved. I went with her recommendation and she told me she could do it right away on this same visit. I was not prepared but I was ready to save my gums and teeth so I went for it. She worked on the right side of my mouth, and told me I would have to come in for another visit so she could do the left side. The whole time she was working on my teeth she was so accommodating, making sure that I was in no pain what so ever. She made sure that I was fully numb and asked thoughtful questions about my past experiences with dentists. The procedure took about an hour and it was painless. After she was done she gave me lots of super helpful information about how to take care of my teeth. She even offered a free consultation for my two year daughter, to get her comfortable with visiting the dentist. Altogether i will be paying $1220 with a 10% discount, but because she did half of my mouth I only paid $610 on this first visit. I know it seems like a lot of money but it is so worth it to have a healthy smile. I will be going in for my other half of my deep cleaning this Saturday and I'm looking forward to it. I honestly felt so grateful and happy after leaving her office. My experience was great and I will definitely be coming back for regular visits. read more

In 2014-2015 I had 4-5 fillings redone here. Was told that my previous dentist had done a poor job on the fillings and they needed to be redone. Yeah well it's 2019 and I'm having those fillings redone again for the second time since Union city Dental did them. So, thanks. I don't know what I paid for if every dentist I go to makes me have these fillings redone. read more

My husband and I, have been patients of Dr. Guerrero, for 15 years. We began seeing her in 2004; when we still lived in Union City, and then we moved to Manteca in 2006. We have been making the trip to come see her, from Manteca to union city, for the last 13 years! We honestly will NEVER, go anywhere else. Dr. Guerrero, and her staff has always been so warm, kind, welcoming, and she really puts you at ease when you're in her chair. I always know I'm in good hands with her. They are always able to coordinate an appointment time with us for a day we can come out to Union City; on a late evening, or a Saturday. If you have a fear of dentists, and you haven't been to one that has made you feel comfortable enough to return, you need to come see Dr. Guerrero. So lucky to have found the best dental clinic ever: 1) to start off, this is the cleanest dental clinic I've been so far, very nice And welcoming. 2) Virgie- shout out to her as she makes you feel at ease as soon as you enter the clinic, she cleaned my teeth before Dr. Guerrero checks if there's anything needred to be done after. She is very thorough and I feel like wanting to have a cleaning every 3 months. Lastly, Dr. Janet Guerrero, the best dentist ever! I can say God has blessed her with great hands as she works with her patients. I always feel very satisfied after seeing her. A specific example is of 1 tooth that I almost lost and had gone to 3 different dentists and never got fixed for over a year. As soon as I heard about Dr. Guerrero, I showed my problem tooth and she fixed it. She is very detailed and glad to be able to smile again. She is also very accommodating - when my brother is suffering of swollen gums due to painful tooth, she gladly accepted him even if it's way past their closing time. On the day of appointment when I entered the office , I was told by the receptionist that Dr. Guerrero does not come on Saturday and there is another dentist available. She also tried to diplomatically push me to be seen by that different dentist. They are too bad in communication. They need to tell the patient on the phone during the appointment setup the name of the dentist, since they have multiple dentists working at the office. read more
