I asked him About the terrible reviews on the school and he replied with "ok who doesn't have bad reviews" DIDNT acknowledge the seriousness of the matter of people being scammed, charged, and harassed about their money, especially after graduating. He made a dumb snarky comment because I am on vacation before my classes start, "vacations hit different when you have a career" Lmfao I've never experienced such an unprofessional, invasive counselor. When I called out that behavior and inappropriate comment , he proceeded to say "says a lot about you" Actually Daniel it says a LOT MORE about YOU and "yOuR sChOol" Save your money, and go to a real institution that will take you seriously, and not just use you for you cash.

The beginning of September he still was sitting in the classroom and told to just read the books and take notes, the teacher would just sit on his phone. So a few kids in his class said something to the teacher and the dean that they were told they would be in the lab no longer then 3 weeks after starting school, they were told that the recruiters just say that to get people to insist . A few weeks later my son called me and said he was going to quit because nothing had changed and the instructor actually fell asleep in class!! So I got involved and said that something needed to change!! The next week they finally got in the lab and was enjoying actually being hands on learning how to work on vehicles! Unfortunately to that only lasted a little over a month. The end of November my son finally said he couldn't do it any more, they were back to just reading books and doing modules all the time. He was not learning ANYTHING and paying a ton to do it. I told him to talk to someone higher up and when he did they said "this is how we run this school and we don't really care if you don't like it We feel so lies to and have to pay for months of NOTHING!!! If I could personally tell everyone who is even thinking about going here to run the other direction I would!! Definitely a terrible experience and after reading all the reviews that are so similar to ours, I'm really surprised thia school is even able to be open or have students go there. I feel for anyone that has ever or will ever step foot in this school! They are taking advantage of kids and it needs to stop!

Katherine's painting school is THE hidden gem of Somerville. Katherine hosts a small group of…read morestudents on weekday evenings and on Saturdays (scheduling is flexible) and, in just two hours per week, effectively spreads the message that passion and expression exist within you and can flourish if you're given the right tools. I approached the painting school as a self-proclaimed "left brain" with "no painting skills and no creativity," grudgingly committed to devoting some time to expression on a weekly basis. From the minute I set foot in my first class, I fell in love with both the charm of the room--the cozy top floor of a home in a classic Somerville neighborhood--and the warmth of my classmates, all strangers but many of whom have quickly become my friends. The best part of the painting school is that we all have the freedom to be ourselves, and to be excellent at it. Whether or not you consider yourself a "painter" at first, within a matter of time, Katherine will help you understand that you CAN make a picture come to life, learning is EASY, and our creations are BEAUTIFUL because they are born from patience and self-love. It's impossible not to believe in yourself when you pour energy into a painting from week to week and inevitably watch it come to life. Katherine injects positive energy into every class and was clearly made to be a teacher. I've never felt confident as an artist, but learning to paint (or, rather, that I could already paint!) with Katherine's guidance has done wonders for my overall state of mind. I highly recommend this school for anyone even remotely interested in dabbling in painting, no matter how seriously you want to explore it. You will learn new techniques and ways to approach the painting process, and if you join with an open mind, I promise you will become more in touch with the part of yourself that's been yearning to create.

The painting was a gift to my sister and not only did the recipient love her gift from me, I loved the gift that Katherine gave me. She helped me to understand that time is precious and if it is spent wisely, any goal could be accomplished. If you are even considering taking a painting class, I would give this school a chance. It will change your view on your own creativity and your view on what it means to teach. Katherine is a gem! She, and her school, cannot be replicated or duplicated. I am sad that I will probably not be able to find anything like them where I am moving. Oh, and the ice cream breaks in the summer aren't so bad either.

Since I came to Canada in early 2000s, I tried my best to learn to bicycle. It never worked. Even I was discouraged by many saying that I would never bicycle since I didn't do it as a child. Couple of months ago, I happened to Google as a last attempt, how to learn to ride a bicycle as an adult. A video clip by Susan McLucas showed up. There she explained in detail how to ride a bicycle whether you are a kid, adult, or even a senior citizen. I watched it few times. Then found an empty church parking lot and tried step by step how to get it moving every weekend, using my 12-year old son's bicycle (Even I didn't know how to ride a bicycle, I taught my son when he was little by watching a YouTube video!) There were times I felt like abandoning the bicycle and come home. But I kept on watching Susan's video clip and went to practice with a little progress each time every weekend. After a month of labour, one day, all of a sudden, I managed to get the hang of it! My happiness went over the roof. I just patted my shoulder and celebrated my great achievement. I always wanted to minimize as much as possible my part of carbon footprint. So I sold my vehicle and bought a used adult bike. Now I ride everyday 30 minutes to work on my bike. The real motivator of Susan's video was the T-shirt she was wearing with the words "One Less Car". I love the subtle yet strong message. Now I want to start a Bicycle Riding School in Edmonton following Susan's concept. I hope I could do it the same way, I did it with my dream of riding a bicycle one day.
