I was pleasantly surprised at this little shop. We had some time to waste since we ordered food to go next door and checked this spot out. I even found some mens skin care in here that I usually find at 1 store only. I would have bought some but I already bought some the other day. Their snacks look delicious!

Union General is right by the Union Bar and Grill so it was the perfect place for dessert. It's connected to the cutest little shop so I spent a good amount of time here. I got the nitrogen ice cream, birthday cake macaroon, and the funfetti cupcake. The desserts were perfect and I enjoyed every bite! There was a big selection of desserts, such as ice cream, coffee, cupcakes, etc. There isn't a lot of room to sit, but it wasn't busy so that wasn't a problem. Next time I go to the Bar and Grill I will definitely stop by for desserts too!

This place has really awesome cupcakes. Actually the best! They are very heavy for being a cupcake. Super cute store right next to the Clarkston Union Bar with its world famous Mac n cheese. In 2015 USA Today voted it top ten in America. They have served over a million orders of just mac n cheese. This is the little general store and bakery that is right next door.

Love the atmosphere. Cozy and a bit loud. I had the salmon on special with the sun-dried tomato risotto and grilled squash. Topped with pesto, the fish was good. The risotto was amazing! The squash, not so much. Thin and barely cooked. It was still cold and not seasoned. My friends had a taste of the Mac and cheese and said it was delicious. One of my friends had the Cuban and said it was good. The other had the beef tips and loved it. I'd love to see more GF and DF items. There really were only two choices on the menu for me. If you're not limited and don't worry about calories, this is your place!

This restaurant is a converted church? Please baptize me into the Holy House of Mac N Cheese!

Super cute little place that we stopped in pre-dinner last weekend. The goal was to pick up a treat for dessert. They didn't have many cupcakes on display (it's was about 8:30pm) but they told us they could make whatever we wanted even it appeared that none were left. I opted for the ginger snap cookie which was large and soft and only $1.50. I ended up eating it the next day and it was still soft and delicious. The decor was shabby chic cute and the front of the shop was more a paper goods/gift shop.

The cupcakes at the cupcakery were really dry/stale. There was too much icing and it was overly sweet and gritty!

Many things have changed since then (several times even!) but somethings never change and that's that Molly's Cupcakes is still one of my favorite dessert spots! And how lucky am I to have easy access to them again as they've expanded and landed in my current home of Ann Arbor. I still love their filled cupcakes, favorites being the Ron Bennington (chocolate with peanut butter filling), the S'mores (a graham cake filled with chocolate ganache and topped with toasted marshmallow), and the Chocolate Decadence (chocolate filled with chocolate). However, they can be quite rich. Luckily their classic cupcakes (traditional cake and frosting) are still very decadent and satisfying. Of those I like the banana (with chocolate frosting) and vanilla with vanilla frosting and sprinkles. Can't choose between several of the options? It's ok! They also have mini cupcakes so you can try several flavors to pick your favorites. I love that they're here and I am craving one BAD now! Alas they're closed for the day as of me writing this but I'm definitely inspired now to go grab another one as soon as they open tomorrow!

There is one bakery - Homestead Bakery in Westland - that is the only one I have found that offers homemade meringue buttercream that is silky, buttery, and not too sweet. I stopped by Pink Elephant Cupcakes to find out what kind of frosting is used in its desserts. The frosting used is standard and too sweet for my liking. I found it a bit pricey for a standard size and quality cupcake. A single cupcake is $3.50, a 4-pack is $14, a 6-pack is $21, and a dozen is $36. I would expect these prices for more gourmet quality cupcakes. It is a typical cupcake, which is fine for most people, especially kids and those with a sweet tooth. There are a lot of flavors to choose from as well. My favorite is the signature cupcake, the Pink Elephant, which is vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and pink glittery sprinkles.

Since it closed upon the owners retirement, I have looked for something similar but usually disappointed mostly. Not here, the cupcakes I brought was some of the best I have had in my 60+ years. Fresh, flavorable, and rich. Well worth the $4.75 each cost. Service was friendly and efficient that seemed to enjoy talking with the customers. Plenty of parking in the front. Talk about DELICIOUS! You can tell they are baked FRESH daily. Not overwhelmingly sweet and the icing is scrumptious! Price is on par at $5.50 each. They have a menu that changes monthly, along with special items for holidays and other special occasions. These were for my birthday and a nice handwritten card was included. The ribbon was $1.50 extra but added to celebratory occasion. I had a plate that matched so used it to create a nice photo, including adding a candle and making a wish! Not only are the cupcakes beautiful, they taste as good as they look! Another plus is each box comes with instructions for storing and handling. I'm already planning my next visit!
