Staff is very rude, the bartender was very nice but the man at the pro shop was supposed to charge…read moremy boyfriend for 18 holes and a rider (I was going to play but just decided to ride along) he ended up only charging for the 18 holes and not a rider so as we're hitting off at hole 1 the Marshall drives up and says we needed to pay for a driver so we turned around went back to the clubhouse and he ended up charging us all over again for another 18 holes and rider when I was not playing so when we got done with hole 9 and got back to the clubhouse I stopped in to ask why I was charged again for golf if I'm not playing the women now who was in the pro shop I explained what happened and she agreed to refund the money back but then proceeded to tell me next time I came there I would need to put on a tshirt over my golf dress, I asked her why this was and she said they don't allow my kind of dressing at their establishment which I was literally wearing a golf dress? I found this very rude as it was 95 degrees out and I'm wearing a dress outside. Would not recommend this golf course acorns is hands down the best course in Waterloo il!

Its at least 3.5 miles depending on the route you go. They need to put signage up that tells you the best route. Mostly flat but does have a few hill spots. Creek access as well.

Greens are usually decent but fairways need a lot of work. Part of the course floods each year, so what do you expect. Each time I've had an odd experience. The Marshall asked if he could pull the pin on 18 before it was dark, since he was in a hurry to leave, then was still sitting in his cart next to the green talking to a regular by the time we finished up. Couldn't wait till we finished? BS it wasn't close to dark we were just the last group out... Front office workers are usually polite, but there's always a group of retired regulars that give you the evil eye when you walk in, hanging around the bar. Another time the front desk told us the same group was rounding hole 9 and playing the front 9 again, but that we could play through. We got down to hole 1 and the group of 7 tee'd off while we (2 of us) waited and were never waved through or acknowledged. We decided to pass on the first 2 holes and just start on 3, then received a bunch of rude comments from the group about golf etiquette. At least they noticed us this time. We didn't say much besides the front desk gave us the go ahead, and that we had waited for all of them to tee off at the same time and they should have waved us through. I guess some people have nothing better to do, plus getting in a fight with a retiree isn't on my bucket list. Normally wouldn't rate a place based on its patrons, but these guys are all obviously from the same place, and tolerated by the course.

I was so glad to discover this hidden gem of a dog park! It's in the same area as the Ferd B Lang…read morePark in Arnold and has free entry! Today, I decided to take Baxter on an adventure and we explored the park and then popped into the fenced in dog park so that he could play with a few other dogs. It was not too busy which was nice. There is a larger area for the big dogs and a smaller fenced area for the little ones. Of course, Baxter was the only small dog, so we decided to let him run around in the bigger park with the larger dogs. He did fine and the other dogs were friendly and didn't bother him at all. Most of the dogs were just wandering around the park and exploring. It's honestly such a huge space for the dogs to run! They have a few benches throughout the park and a shaded area to sit as well. There are a few waste areas with baggies so that you can clean up after your dog. Of course, it's not a monitored park, so it's fair to say that not everyone picks up after their dogs, so be careful not to step on the "piles". They also had a fountain right outside of the fenced area for dogs to get some water. I'd recommend bringing your own bowl and cold water for your dog just in case the fountain isn't working or had warm water during the hotter days. Overall, I really am glad this space is available for the dogs and I know I'll be back again soon! Since it's a free park, I'd recommend donating to the park if you have the means to so that it can stay open and kept up.
