I read a review left for a wedding & thought I should comment that my daughter had her hair and makeup done here for both her Jr. & Sr. Proms and looked absolutely stunning. Both times her hair & makeup were done by the same artists. Hair was done by Marlee. My daughter showed her pictures for inspiration, and she has very thick, curly hair to work with. For the chignon style, it down-poured all day, so we struggled to keep it perfect, and the style was the pieces in front, so they didn't quite curl the same once home, but that was not to fault Marlee. Plus, my daughter insisted they be "wavy", though not my taste. Marlee gave her what SHE wanted, and she felt beautiful both times. All a mom could hope for. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the young woman who did her makeup, (perhaps Jenna based on names I just looked up, but I cannot guarantee), but she gave her two completely different looks (a 1950's glam-type, then more of a smoky eye the 2nd time) based on her dresses and knocked it out of the park. This would have been in Spring '23 & '24. I believe she is the primary person who does makeup there. You cannot go wrong w/these women! I love my massage therapist Dee who works out of the Manasquan location. But, other than that the place is a dump!! It's time to renovate. It's still old decor, every other locker in the woman's locker room said "out of order". The shower heads are rusty. I have NO idea how this salon still exists. My hair and make up were done here for my wedding and it was a disaster. It was like the first time the girl had ever seen hair before. All of my bridesmaids looked like they stepped out of an 80's movie. One of them asked for a chignon and no one in the salon had ever heard of such a basic do. My sister had her make up done there recently for an event and looked homeless. I have been here several times and this place may not look like much because it's in a fitness center but they are by far my most favorite spa. I have always had a great experience here between the check in process to my spa treatments. I always get facials and I was lucky to have Chelsea which has the softest hands and makes you feel relaxed. She has been there a pretty long time and is a great asset to the spa. Overall just as I said they may not look like much when you first enter the fitness center but once you get upstairs they have a pretty nice set up. What can I say about this dump of a "high end" spa? Their gym is filled with entitled rich people that don't put their weights back and they are very limited on their equipment. Definitely not worth the price of their almost $200 gym membership. It does have nice locker rooms that seem to be clean. Some of the urinals are placed awkwardly so you can't really get to them if someone is using the others. Spa services are less to be desired. My massage seemed like it was rushed through. The entire thing was face down. It was about 40 minutes spent on my back and 10 minutes on my legs. My arms, hands, scalp, and feet weren't worked on at all. The facial was part of a special they were running so I understand that it was shortened. Fine, but neither were anything that would make me want to come back. Its pretty obvious that their employees work off of commission, which is normal, but it's clear their employees aren't taken care of when they are obviously pushing upgrades and products on you. The aesthetician was very nice, I liked her a lot. She was the saving grace of everything. I ended up buying a product just because she was sweet. I've had my haircut a few times there, usually liked the cut, but they can't seem to keep any of the good stylists. Again, a testament to the mismanagement. The manager and some of the front desk look like slobs, not representative of a high end spa at all. There was a light hanging out of the ceiling, and it is severely in need of some remodeling. I have been going here for years, and while the service was not the greatest, their massage therapists have been great. This past Sunday, I had a massage scheduled at the Red Bank location, only to arrive to a closed facility. Apparently they took a snow day, but failed to notify their clients. No call, no text, no email. They have yet to return my call or email, to explain why they let this happen. Despicable. Came here super excited to celebrate my birthday weekend. I'm a dual licensed esthetician and massage therapist and it's veeerrryyy rare I get to treat myself. It doesn't take much service-wise to impressed me; I'm usually just excited to be pampered. First impression, the front desk is friendly and welcoming. The spa is beautiful and the robes are sooo comfy. They have lounge chairs for after your service and your technician wraps you up and tucks you in for the afternoon; it's a lovely touch. The first service I received was my massage. I had booked the services for my friend and I, I was going in for the Deep Forest, she was a Blue Eucalyptus. I was on the fence with going with a Blue Eucalyptus as well, but love the scent of Deep Forest. Well, turns out the desk booked my massage service as the Blue Eucalyptus as well, so I went with it since I was on the fence anyway (however, it does beg the question of what if I actually cared). My therapist didn't ask if there was anything to focus on, pressure or anything; I understand massages are a communication game, but it's nice to establish something in the beginning, but I guess that was just her style. However she never really checked in on me which is always a nice touch. Luckily it was a good massage. Next we had our facials. The upselling was made me feel so uncomfortable and honestly, I literally do this work for a living and had no clue what she was even talking about. It made me feel sorry for clients that are regular people just looking for a facial; they are probably pressure and confused and now I know it really is the worst feeling. I agreed to her upcharges of a peel and mask which she said would be $89. (Yet somehow when we checked out it was $109. It wasn't a problem considering they were having a sale that week but it's really uncool when someone tells you one price and suddenly it's an additional $20) When we left and I looked at my skin, it was drier than it was before and red and irritated. I've had peels before and this was not normal for me. Never mind the fact that she was okay letting me leave that way. It really made me second guess what I just paid $109 for. My friend enjoyed her massage and her therapist (who sounds amazing!) but was also dissatisfied with an up charge during the facial that she was never even told the cost and how her skin left when we looked. Even the products she was recommended didn't really make sense (I also work with Naturopathica) and seemed to just be thrown out as a hopeful way she'd buy them. Overall, I 100% would not go back for a facial. Maybe a massage with Joanie who my friend saw. But for the price, there's definitely other places in NY/NJ I'd rather try. read more

I would give Milagro Spa 0 stars if I could. This is the worst spa I have ever been to. The first time I went I got the reflexology pedicure. It was $85. The website notes that the pedicure "Combines a relaxing pedicure with a therapeutic reflexology foot massage. This holistic treatment will relieve stress throughout your entire body." However, when I went for this treatment, the pedicurist just wrapped my legs in damp towels and left me sitting there for 30 minutes (I remember because I was so mad, I counted). Needless to say, it did not relieve any of my stress. The next time I went back was for a massage because I had a gift card. They ended up not being able to find the funds on the gift card and I had to pay with a credit card after waiting for 25 minutes. They said that once they were able to straighten it out with the gift card they could reimburse me. When I called to straighten it out they said they could not reimburse my credit card but they found the funds on the gift card and I could come in for another service. I didn't argue because I needed a hair cut anyway and I thought I could put it towards that. (I'm not sure why I wanted to go back at this point but, alas, I did.) The woman who cut my hair was nice but I had asked for just a trim and side bangs and she gave me a bob and super short bangs (has anyone seen Emma Roberts new bangs? Yeah, like those). I got there and the woman I was originally scheduled to be with told me she couldn't do nail art (it wasn't, it was a side French I later came to learn). It became a whole thing but the manager was AWESOME and picked up in the lack the compatibility between me and that manicurist and switched me to a different one Tracy was AWESOME. Went for a long needed relaxing massage. Cold Milagro on a Wednesday and they fit me in the very next day. I have been to both the Manasquan and Redbank locations on numerous occasions. I met my therapist Jody who immediately took me into our massage room. For the next hour, I was in complete heaven. One of the best massages I have ever received. The only down point was the robes. Milagro spa is on the higher end of spas in my area, and yet their robes looked as if they had been around for 10 years. Stay far away. Booked for a Classic Massage at 80 minutes. Requested an experienced technician after not coming back here for over 1.5 years and switching exclusively to the Manasquan location. Got a "massage" that was 60 minutes. Not 80. Paid the up charge of aromatherapy that was never delivered. Was pushed (sorry - had my pressure points adjusted?!) on for about 3 minutes in each section of my body. The rest of the time she spent readjusting the blankets. This place is STILL the worst. The kicker is the manager told me I should have booked a better masseuse! They sure stand by their product. read more

I had a massage here last week. My wife got me a gift card there for the holidays. It is a beautiful facility located on the confines of the Atlantic Club which in my opinion is the best gym in Monmouth county. I loved the separate locker room in the spa and all the amenities provided during the massage experience. Refreshments and some lounging time was the perfect way for me to unwind. The massage itself was good. My masseuse was attentive to my needs as I had discomfort in my upper back. My only disappointment was my massage was cut ten minutes short because they said I showed up late. My appointment was at 3pm and I checked in at exactly that time. Must be they need time for you to undress and fill out paperwork. I must have missed where it said to come in ten minutes early for those things. My 50 minute massage became a 40 minute massage. Normally I wouldn't mind but this place charges top dollar. Typically I pay around 30% less. All in all if you want an upscale experience I do recommend this place. Take my advice and show up a few minutes early to avoid the penalty I paid. read more

Th people at Mila are wonderful but the facility is old, poorly kept and simply unpleasant. It's always cold. The stations are so old and the decor is so dated. I really like the convenience and the quality of the services but for the prices the atmosphere should be aesthetic and inviting. I am so disappointed. Everyone says they are planning on renovating. That has been the story for many years now. I think I will look for another salon. I have been coming to Milagro since it opened too! If I could rate 0 stars I would. The worst spa experience of my life with no exaggerations. First off, be prepared for a massage that will take you to the feels of nyc - hearing heavy feet walking constantly, the towel cart equivalent to a dumpster truck about 8x, inconsiderate employees loud conversations and laughing... the list goes on. I've been going to many spa places and by far this was the worst ever. Customer service goes a long way and the fact they did not comp the massage was a turn off. The ideal manager/owner would do anything to make the customer happy. All they offered was 50% off the next service as we all know that won't happen. Spa is located in upstairs and in back of an athletic club. Initial receptionist seemed miserable. Decor is tan and space is limited. Place is clean but the women's bathroom was out of soap. Limited supplies in the women's bathroom. Flavored coconut water was good but had a sugary taste. 50 min deep tissue massage included arnica oil, eucalyptus leaves and was $110. Jen was my massage therapist- she was kind and she did an excellent job. Areas that she focused on really did relax the muscles. After the massage you can relax in your robe and use the sauna if you desire. While relaxing on the couch, it was not soft or that comfortable. The fish tank seemed a little cloudy, but was a nice concept for the room. On the way out, staff were hanging out at the front desk talking. Because the massage was excellent, I would recommend this place and would consider getting a membership. I would recommend for the franchise/ management to focus on ensuring a more pleasant spa experience, without raising prices. read more

Usually I get the hydra-facial which is amazing, however during spa week I had the regular facial and chemical peel. My skin feels great and Vanessa my technician was also great (didn't push products on me). Additionally I a massage the day earlier and even though I paid for the 50 minute it ended up being 40 minutes despite the fact that I was on time. That kind of pissed me off and I probably should have made a bigger stink about it but honestly the two woman working the desk that day looked like they gave 0 shits so it would have been a waste of time. Also it was a regular massage and I really didn't think I got anything out of it. The woman was too gentle so I left feeling like I spent all that money to be rubbed instead of worked - if that makes sense. Despite that, it's a great salon. The decor is a little outdated and the walls are kind of thin so you can hear people outside sometimes. I wish they would change that because it doesn't create a relaxing-like vibe in my opinion. REVIEWING MASSAGE SERVICES ONLY Milagro Spa is definitely my first-choice in the area for a massage. I tend to go with the classic Swedish though they do have a very comprehensive menu of massage options. If you are not sure what you want or need you can ask the representative on the phone, they are happy to talk you through the menu and suggest the right massage for you. I have been with several massage therapists and have found 2 notable favorites. All of the therapists are good but I like those who know how to understand and listen to what I'm requesting vis-a-vi my "problem areas," and then execute accordingly. So, while I have never had a BAD therapist, I have certainly had those I prefer. That is the reason I have deducted one star, because for the same service their tends to be a slight lack of consistency across therapists. Though I should I do not get weekly or biweekly massages. When I go it is a real treat and I want to feel relaxed and pampered. The spa setting where the massages take place is pristine. The temperature is always perfect the music always at the perfect volume. The refreshment bar is clean and stocked. The place smells fresh and clean and the bathroom, stocked with complimentary beauty supplies to sample, is cleaner than mine at home. After the massage you are escorted to a chaise where water is waiting for you. They tuck you in with the softest blanket. You can stay as long as you like and watch the large salt water fish bowl in front of you. One thing that kind of annoyed me last time, I like to go at the end of the day so when I'm relaxing after my massage the girls are getting ready to leave so there is a bit of hustle and bustle as they clean and chatter. I can understand after a long day they want to get out quick but I do think they should behave as though the place is open until the last client leaves. I will consider going a bit earlier in the future. You would think Milagro Spa would be overpriced but truly I find their massage packages to be extremely competitive. I would not sacrifice the quality and experience at Milagro to save $10 and maybe that is what you'd be looking at if you went somewhere else. I've taken advantage of some of their promotions too which are great. Look for them around the holidays and buy for yourself and save. So, highly recommended. Probably a nice spa but not the best customer service. I went there with my pregnant girlfriend and she was unable to partake in the couples massage. They said they would take her for a facial and immediately started my massage. When I finished I learned they were booked and were unable to serve her at all. I would have rescheduled if I had known the circumstances. I left an email to explain the situation and never heard back from them. Called same day at 330pm for appointment they were very accommodating for a 630pm. Waited 15 min for a parking spot in their private parking lot . Had to shower in the locker room before my appointment because I was coming from work . Used their shampoo and conditioner . Shampoo nor conditioner stated if they were sulfate free nor if they contain sulfate. I had realized that after I had used their products this was in the men's locker room. Had a 60 min hydro facial ! I enjoyed it but once I got back into the locker room all my black heads were still all around my nose . Which I removed myself in their locker room mirror for 15 min . So I feel it's a waste of time & money because its unaffected with that operator . After getting dressed I realized my hair dried somewhat curly. So apparently there product ruined my Brazilian blowout treatment that I just had done a week before . I brought it to the find desk attention , they stated that there are unaware of what products are used in the men's bathroom because they change it constantly . The night manager was very unhelpful. I will not be spending anymore of my time and money at this establishment. Ultimately waiting for a parking spot , paying a lot of money for this facial and on top of that having my Brazilian Blowout ruined because they used cheap products in there men's shower . I like this place. I've been coming here for quite a while, and I've gotten a variety of services. FACIALS: I've gotten Hydra and the Signature. Hydra is expensive, but worth it for special occasions. The Signature is also very good. It's relaxing, and I feel like the estheticians touch all of the bases when providing both services. I find that A LOT of upselling goes on when you get a facial. I'm clearly here for a 50 minute signature facial, I don't want a Hydra, especially because it's double the price. Overall, the upselling that occurs here is the worst part of coming- I literally dread it. Because both locations are in nice areas, I feel that some of the staff assumes that all clients have money to burn, and that's not the case. To be fair, there are estheticians who do not do this at all, and ones who do it non-stop. I prefer a less pushy esthetician, and that's going to start being reflected in my tip. Let me enjoy my service in peace. MASSAGE: Only gotten a massage here once, but no complaints. I didn't come out with bruises, and they didn't try to upsell me on anything. I stuck to it and went for one every month leading up to my wedding. My skin is the best it's ever been, Tammy is such a wonderful person and spent time getting to know me and my skin needs. I have looked forward to each appointment and the time I've spent with her during my facials. I leave feeling so confident and get so many compliments on my skin. My wedding is this week and I'm ready! But I will continue to get the Hydrafacials long after my wedding. I'm hooked! I have been to the Milagro in Manasquan and had a good experience, but I felt like I was in a high pressure sales pitch here. the lady who greeted me at the front desk was very attentive. when I got to my facial it went downhill. from the start all the woman tried to do was pitch to me to upgrade to a more expensive treatment ($100 more). I told her that I had bought a Groupon so I was going to stick to what i booked. after that she kept suggesting again and again the hydra facial which costed more $200. when I said no, she then tried to push buying a peel that was an extra $40. I was basically forced to say yes because I was so uncomfortable and she just rubbed a random thing on my face that I could have done myself and it costed $40. she then told me because I trusted her, she upgraded me to the hydra ($200 facial) for free, which was a lie, she barely did anything to me. I told her I wanted to focus on extractions which she barely did. she ran out of things to do and turned it into a massage. she then ended the treatment 10 minutes early- ended up being 40 min facial not 50. I have never experienced a facial like this and I've had many in my life, just felt like she didn't know what to do. when I went to checkout and told the front desk lady I had a Groupon, she acted shocked and told me I couldn't use it and I had to warn them beforehand. she said that if I warned them I was using It the esthetician wouldn't have tried to upgrade my service. I ensured her that I told the esthetician I had a Groupon, and she kept asking me to upgrade my service. Pretty disappointed with my experience here. First the good- the facility itself is beautiful, we were able to use the steam room and sauna during our visit, which was very nice. The changing areas were all big and clean, and had essentials like blow dryers and razors. I also really appreciated the Arnica gel recommended by the massage therapist for my joint pain - it was very helpful! Now the bad. I came here with 4 other ladies to celebrate a bachelorette/birthday. We had been planning this for a while with the spa so they were aware our of group size and that we were there to celebrate an occasion. All but one of us got there on time but spent some time changing in the locker room. The coordinator told us we could take our time and come to the massage rooms when we were ready. As we were celebrating, we took a few minutes to take some photos. My assumption was that they had a staff for our group and that it wasn't like a typical appointment. I was wrong- they cut the massages short, even the brides! I understand respecting the time and appointments, but the coordinator should have told us that when she checked us in and also not told us to take our time. Due to personal issues- one of the girls couldn't make it until much later than her appointment, which I understand puts them in a bad spot but I do think they still could have been more accommodating. The "relaxation" area was also right outside of the massage rooms so we felt bad making any noise, which was a little annoying because we wanted to be able to chat. I just feel that the facility really can't properly accommodate groups that are there to celebrate something. Worst. Gel mani. Ever. EVER. The manicure was rushed, and the polish did not cure properly. It bubbled and peeled within a day. And I was already out of town for the holiday, so I had to attend a special event with a peeled nail. I went back for a fix and then more nails started to peel, in layers. I've never seen such a thing. My nails looked horrible, and it wasn't cheap--$45 without paraffin. I will never return for any service at this spa. I was given a full body massage as a gift and this was VERY GENEROUS because this place is super expensive and very frou-frou. The gift-giver wanted to pamper me, and indeed I was pampered when I went there. They give you sandals and a fluffy robe, and the facility is lovely, but I just found it to be a lot of fluff and not much substance when it got to what I came for. I have chronic neck/shoulder pain and I asked the masseuse to concentrate on that. But she didn't - it seemed it was just part of a regular whole body massage. The massage therapist was pleasant and friendly, but it was pretty much the most mediocre massage I think I've ever had. My 14 daughter actually does a better job for me. I wouldn't recommend the place for massage, maybe facials or nails - but you can get better massages almost anywhere. And it's very over-priced, to boot. read more

Scheduled a last minute appointment for a Brazilian wax, seeing as I was down in NJ for the long weekend. I usually try several other places first (European Wax Center, Blue Mercury, Skin & Bones), but their available appointment times weren't going to work for me... so I ended up at Milagro. Bad move. The service only deserves one star. I added a second star because the spa has always had a nice ambiance and the beds are comfortable. My appointment lasted about 12 minutes. Yes, 12. For a Brazilian. She stayed in the room the whole time while I changed, which I honestly don't mind but this is not standard at other waxing places and makes the entire service feel rushed. There was absolutely NO attention to detail; clearly she must not have had any time for it... They only use soft wax and it was very messy and spots were missed. NO tweezers were used at the end to get what she missed. Also, she did not prep with baby powder, and afterwards there was no baby oil or hydro-cortisone cream to help the redness, just some hand lotion! It had to be one of my worst waxing experiences ever, but I guess you could say it was on par with the cheap-y NYC hole-in-the-wall joints that you can go to for some ridiculously low Groupon price... But now get this -- Milagro charges $100!!! One hundred dollars. I've never even seen ANYONE charge this price before in my 8 or so years of waxing (at a wide variety of spas across multiple states). NOTE: the prices are NOT advertised on their website either! I was not aware of this price until after the service was performed. Yes, I could have asked in advance, but is it not reasonable for me to have expected something around maybe $75 at the max...? Comparable spas like Exhale charge $80, but Milagro isn't even in the city! Completely Bare, a place that uses both hard and soft wax, charges around $80 but the SERVICE ISN'T EVEN IN THE SAME BALL PARK as they take the time to make sure the client is satisfied with services performed. $100 for only soft wax is completely unacceptable. And then add in the 20% tip... I paid in full, but only after picking my jaw up off the floor. Will never go back for any kind of waxing again. read more
