The experience my Husband and I had absolutely deserves all 5 stars. They worked with our budget, and though it was a short one they gave us the best quality product. I can't exaggerate how much they truly helped us in making our wedding dream come true! They definitely knew how and what we wanted. And if they had a better idea they'd shared it, and best believe that better idea stayed within our budget!! Other than the "staying within the budget", their customer service was amazing! I hired Luz over a year in advanced of my wedding date. Of course when you first go and sign the contract they make everything sound like they will be happy to accommodate all your needs. My mistake was to take her word and trust her on it. As the planning process went on, I had several verbal altercations with Luz. After every meeting I felt like I expressed exactly what I wanted and the next meeting after that, it's like she completely forgot everything! Also, she was late to almost EVERY appointment i had with her and always had the same excuse. I felt as if she was more concentrated on other events than my own. NO bride wants to feel like that!! I was only able to speak to her assistants over the phone for the year planning. I wish I would have know that I could hire Maggie or Betty instead of Luz. A month away from the event she started charging me for extra assistants which she had already said she was gonna take the day of signing the contract. If you hire someone for day of coordination she should be willing to stay the ENTIRE day, right? No, she charged me $250 more to stay 3 extra hours. Note: at that the wedding I only saw ONE assistant for a 320 person event. As a stressed bride that did most planning myself, I just paid her so I can get her off my back and have my wedding run smoothly. This isn't even the worst part! The day of my event I called her at 12pm, four hours before the venue doors opened because I had gotten a phone call from the venue that Luz's team was NOT there yet when they should have gotten there at 9 am. I gave Luz (my coordinator, the person that should relieve me from the stress and not add onto it) a call, she had the nerve to practically scream at me over the phone to let her do her job...I just responded that she must have EVERYTHING ready before doors open at 4. When I showed up at 430, some of my guest were already inside the venue. Her team was NOT done setting up! I was so furious! I was able to surpass the feelings because it's my wedding day and I just wanted to be happy. So I just let things go with the flow but Luz made that pretty impossible. Throughout the event, I had various complaints from the caterer, the waiters, and the DJ that they were fed up with her. My Husband had to talk to them and have them understand that it was our day and to basically just ignore her. Luz came up to me complaining that the waitresses weren't listening to her, that my card box was missing, that we had run out of Tequila. I hired her so I wouldnt have to worry about things like that! During my reception, I had to yell at her to stop coming up to me with all the problems and let her know that she had to do her job and that's why I had paid her. She quickly sped away and I didnt see her for a couple hours. I think she crumbled that day and didn't even know what to do. The day after the event, I had to clean up after I had paid Luz $250 so she can take care of that. I had to pay $40 because her delivery truck hit a light post at the venue. Her delivery team took 9 chair cushions and table runners from another rental company. When I called to ask to give them back, the delivery boy was insisting that he didn't take them. After all the problems that I had with them, it was pretty hard to believe. I had to pay $400 because they took things that weren't theirs. Overall, I paid Luz about $15,000 for stress! Don't hire her! This is a once in a lifetime event and sadly I will reflect back on it a remember the headaches I had to endure on my wedding day. read more

I stumbled across unique chic events while shopping for my own Wedding in Downtown Los Angeles, I was looking for a certain style for my sweetheart table and backdrop. I peeked in the window and there it was sitting displayed so beautifully I knew I had to get it for my wedding. Little did I know I couldn't purchase it I had to rent it out EVEN BETTER... So I walked into the place and was greeted so kindly was given different ideas and options I was so excited and reassured. Everyone on the Unique Chic Team was amazing!! So let me start from the very beginning, I hired Maggie in July 2017 for my May 2018 wedding. I wanted day of coordinating, their sweet heart glamour package and wanted to rent a couple things. February rolls around and I haven't heard from them in 6 months. Come to find out, Maggie is no longer there and Luz was going to take over. I spoke with Luz over the phone (she was super unprofessional by the way, talking to other people that were with her while speaking to me) and Luz said she was going to send me an email in an hour. The next day comes and I have yet to get the email, so I call them and tell them I want to set up an appointment to talk with Luz. I drove an hour to sit down to talk with this woman and she doesn't show up! Betty is there and tells me she'll be taking over which at the time was a relief. Betty seemed really on top of things at first. We decided we were going to set up a meeting at my venue to discuss my vision and how I wanted things to go. She told me she would schedule it and asked what time worked for me. Weeks went by without her scheduling it, so I picked up the phone and scheduled it myself. We spent over an hour discussing everything at the venue so I figured she had a pretty clear understanding to where everything would go and the flow of things. I also told her I wanted to extend my backdrop by 6 feet and to let me know ASAP if I was going to be charged for the extra length. The WEEK OF (which is 2 weeks after our meeting) I get an email saying they will be charging me almost $200 for 6 extra feet. So I call, confused and it turns out to be a miscommunication somehow but it took them until 2 days before my wedding to get back to me (aka extra unneeded stress) Anyway mind you, I hired a day of coordinator because I wanted my mom to enjoy her day and night and not have to run around like a crazy woman. The day of the wedding comes and my mom gets to the venue around 2:30-3 to see how everything is going and nothing has been done! She kept asking my mom where things go and where I wanted this and that as if we never had that meeting! During the reception, she kept asking my mom questions through out the night.. I honestly feel I would have been better off just having my mom do everything because I paid Betty to basically be my moms assistant. To top it off, as my husband and I are leaving our wedding around 1 am my phone is getting blow up! Literally 4 consecutive calls, so my husband answers and it's them telling him that because my venue didn't follow instructions with the chairs that they want to charge us a fee for pick up. What business thinks it's okay to call over and over again especially at 1 AM on someone's wedding night! I also got a text message from Betty during my honeymoon over these damn chairs and this fee. I rented with their love seat and glass table with hit pillars and it was perfect for my event. I just was disappointed that I saw them leave table on the edges of the glass table which made it look a bit tacky especially since it wasn't cheap to rent. I hired Unique Chic Events for my wedding and let me tell you it was the best decision I ever made, starting with their outstanding staff when I came in to their showroom I was really just wanting to get an idea for my wedding but I ended up hiring them on the spot their staff was very welcoming and very helpful I really did not know where to start planning they soon started to clear their sample table and started to pull designs plates floral arrangements candles chiavari chairs for me to get an idea of what the tables would look like, I felt so comfortable with the staff but especially with Luz she ended up staying past closing time until I was fully satisfied with the designs of the wedding. On the days before my wedding I received emails from them confirming times and deliveries and even a timeline of the times food, speeches and dances would be around, which to me was great I had not even thought about the arrangement of times but they realllllly think of every single detail no detail was too small for them. On the morning of the wedding I was a bit nervous like any bride but as soon as I walked in to the venue I was literally taken back in how beautiful everything had came out, If I could redo my wedding all over again I would hire them in a quickness! I was helping my mom plan her 30th Wedding Anniversary (which took place in May 2013), and she happened to meet Luz the wedding planner. My mother was one of her first clients in which Luz agreed to help my mom make her wedding tarp decoration look very phenomenal. As the day came, Luz started to complain that the tarp that we had rented was not something she can work with. She definetly made me feel as If I was all on my own. Luz was very unprofessional by saying that she would not be able to decorate the tarp a day prior to the wedding anniversary as agreed, I was so dissapointed since I was the one helping my mom with everything. Luz also rented us a chandelier which was broken and the pieces were falling apart. THIS WOMAN CLAIMS TO BE SO PROFESSIONAL BUT I COULDNT BELIEVE THAT ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT SHE DECIDED TO GIVE US A HARD TIME ABOUT IT NOT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THAT WE WERE ONE OF HER FIRST CLIENTS.
