We have had problems with our furnace dating back more than a year. It has been limping along even though we had spent quite a bit of money last year to get it fixed by another HVAC company which shall remain nameless because I have NOTHING good to say about them. On the Friday before Christmas our furnace finally gave up the ghost and we had to call someone out before it got too much later since it was already 4PM on a Friday afternoon. From seeing their ads on TV, we decided to call Unique. I called and talked with Adam and he was very courteous and polite and said he would see what he could do and would call back right away. When he called back, they had a tech in Westminster finishing up soon and he would be right over. In just about an hour, Adrian showed up and went right to work trying to figure out the problem with the furnace. After awhile he came up to tell us the news, which wasn't good, but we already were prepared for that. He went over the options that we had, what it would take to get the old furnace possibly running again, but with no guarantee that it would be fixed without need additional work because of what the previous HVAC company did. At that point we decided that instead of throwing good money after bad, we would bite the bullet and just get a new furnace. So, while he was writing up the order we asked when they would be able to get someone to come out. We were expecting that it would be a few days and that we would have to deal with a freezing cold house, but to our (pleasant) surprise he said that they would be back out first thing in the morning after they pick up the new unit. Awesome, just one night to have to deal with a cold house and space heaters. Just before 10 AM the next morning the guys showed up with our new furnace. Both of them were super nice and very professional (I really wish I had gotten their names to mention them personally in this review as they were awesome). They got right to work and in less than 2 hours we had a brand new furnace up and running and the old one already hauled out of the basement. Finally a reliable source of heat after fighting with the old furnace. I can't say enough good things about all the guys at Unique, from the initial contact, to the tech, to the crew that did the install. They were fantastic and this is the very first time we have had an HVAC company come to our home and we didn't feel like we were ripped off. I would highly recommend them to anyone having issues with their furnace or their a/c unit. Thank you so much and we know we will call Unique if we have any HVAC needs at all. read more

This company charged me $300 dollars for a $35 quick permit from City and County of Denver. I just needed a bathroom fan installed to comply with City code. They did not apply for the permit before they did the work--supposedly because I did not ask for one. They refused to apply for the permit until ten days after their work was completed, resulting in my small remodel project being ten days behind schedule and taking four weeks instead of two. When the permit was finally issued, the contractor was listed as C & H Heating and Cooling LLC, a company I had never heard of. I have never heard of a company making a huge profit on a permit. read more

Unique installed our HVAC system in 2020....at first everything seemed great. A few weeks after install, we realized they had installed the entire unit incorrectly---electrical was all wrong, wires weren't connected properly, outdoor unit was placed on top of our sprinkler access box, etc. Fast forward, we have had their team out every summer for a "fix" beyond the routine maintenance. Each visit, we get a ridiculous quote about how we need to upgrade our new units for them to work effectively. Weird right....but like I get it everyone tries to upsell....but to what end? We just installed an entire system with company. This summer (2023), the team has been out twice already. The first time, we got the routine summer maintenance. We were told we had failed our due diligence with filter changes (we change them regularly - every 3 months) and additionally, that the unit was having problems because of recent construction in the home. Then after the cleaning and maintenance, the AC still wasn't functioning. We called them again and they come back out and blamed our thermostat for the issue. They decide to clean the unit (again) this time, they say its $600 cleaning....odd because we had just had one....and everything was fine. We talk them down on the cost....but then learn that the install team covered up a filter slot. Causing ridiculous build up in the vents and in the system, all unbeknownst to us. And again, two weeks since the Unique team was last here, our unit is not working. I imagine they will estimate some ungodly cost to repair whatever is wrong and point to the thermostat, without realizing that this probably goes back again to a shoddy install. We are thankful for the cooler temperatures today but not looking forward to another hot weekend. Avoid working with Unique at all costs. Save yourself the time, the pain, and the condescending comments from techs (especially if you are a woman). read more

I received a flyer for furnace cleaning for 89.00. I called the # scheduled apt. the guy was 1hr and 45minutes late. He came in said my circuit board was no good and because I had a home warranty said he would not touch it and left it as is. He was here for 15 minutes and did nothing no cleaning when he left he charged me the full 89.00 dollar cleaning. I called the office to tell them I was charged and he did nothing, they said they would have the owner call my cell. Nothing never heard back. read more

I've had great experiences with Unique before (see previous review) and chose them again when my furnace stopped working. Julio - who helped me before (yeah!) - arrived within a few hours of my service request. He quickly diagnosed the issue and had the needed part on hand to fix it. Julio had the furnace working again within 40 minutes! I work from home and was on a call while Julio was here (sorry Julio), but he was very respectful to make sure he didn't interrupt. A friend recommended Unique Heating and Air and I am so happy we called them! They came out to clean and service our furnace. We purchased our home about six months ago and our home inspector did not notice there was rust from water damage from a pipe that was not attached properly. I am thankful Julio Garza, who was our technician, was thorough with his work and fixed the hose before it became a real issue. A couple of weeks later I called them again because our heater was blowing out cold air. Julio came back out free of charge and took the time to determine it was our thermostat. I felt a little silly, but again thankful that he took the time to ensure our furnace was working properly and it was just a default setting on our thermostat. I will definitely call Unique any time we need our furnace serviced and will recommend them to anyone we know! read more

I scheduled Unique for a HVAC tune up for $99, that seemed fair, and they did a good job, then the worker called and said the unit was 1 lb. low on freon, I agreed to do the work, they charged $385 for 1 lb of freon! + $99 for the original service... That is absolutely an outrage! needless to say, I won't be calling on Unique again! read more

I wish I could give Julio at Unique Heating and Air Conditioning 10 stars! After calling three different HVAC companies after our whole home humidifier started spraying water everywhere and being told by all three that it would be between $150 and $650 to solve the problem, Julio took the time to walk me through five minutes of troubleshooting over the phone. No service charge. No, "I can't help you unless you pay me $80 to come to your house." Just outstanding customer service. With Julio's help, I was able to fix the issue myself for $0. The only thing unique about this company is that they will clean your furnace and leave you a dead rodent as a present. I called them for a furnace cleaning and certification. After cleaning my furnace they informed me that my blower motor needs replacement (I replaced it less than a year previously) and that my condenser coils needed cleaning. Since I had done that work with a friend who worked in the HVAC business a year previously I knew the cost of the parts and the approximate time of labor. $250 in parts and about 2hr in labor. They presented me with an $1800 estimate for this work and told me they could not certify the furnace without completing the work. When I asked why the mark up in price when I knew what the parts cost I was told that drive time was a factor. Unfortunately I can not justify a 500% markup on parts and labor in any situation so I'd declined the work. They also wanted to charge $267 for a capacitor that was working perfectly and the same size as the one would be needed for new blower motor and even if they needed a larger capacitor the cost of the part would be approximately $10. This is typical for the HVAC community. They think because you need a license to purchase parts they can charge you whatever they want and make a ridiculous amount of money off you because you can't just go buy HVAC parts anywhere. This is greedy, unkind, unfair, bullshit behavior. They couldn't even dispose of the dead mouse carcass they extracted during the cleaning that I paid $89 for. So they vacuumed. Tried to rip me off and left me a dead mouse as a present. I did enjoy my conversation with the technician he seamed like a nice guy. I would highly suggest finding a company that has sone morals. Just because you can treat people like crap and take their hard earned money doesn't mean you should. Fair work should receive fair pay. I would however consider hiring them to do the work if I can get a ride on the Boss's boat this summer. I'm assuming he has one if your company is going to charge $1800 for $250 in parts and two hours if labor. Ripping hard working people off just because you can is ridiculous!! Our heating unit was having some problems and I never dreamed they would be solved so quickly! The service tech they sent named Son was extremely polite and efficient and I felt very comfortable having him in my home. They seem to be a honest company with reasonable pricing. Their business card is on our fridge and we will only be calling them for any future issues with heating and air. read more

Spent thousand dollars to have furnace fixed and on the way out the door after being paid tech told us furnace needed cleaned and we had a bearing leaking felt that should have been addressed while he was there not when he was leaving very unprofessional today they said they could come back and clean it for 80 dollars more do not recommend this business unless you like surprises read more

They are professional, courteous and quick! I don't know why they don't have more reviews. My neighbor used them as well. This is what cinched the deal for me. Adam takes the time to speak to you and tell you what to expect. They do Air Conditioning and Swamp Coolers. He will tell you what is best for you and not try to upsell you. I selected this company, because I was getting estimates for both an A/C unit and a Swamp Cooler. Adam Torrez is the owner of the company. (I did some research, so I had an idea of what to expect when the parade of 7 different companies came to visit me.) He was very informative and told me everything that I needed to know. Did you know that you can get a rebate for installing or replacing a swamp cooler??? YEP! Adam was kind enough to let me know this tidbit. Also, Swamp Coolers use 75% less energy than A/C units! Whoa. Money savings. It rained quite a bit this year, and I was slightly worried that an evaporative cooler wouldn't be able to cool the house the same way that an A/C unit would. The other companies kept saying that the rain and humidity would completely negate the effects of the swamp cooler and render it useless. Adam said that it was untrue. The cooler would still be able to function, run and cool the house. With a little research I did indeed find that he was true to his word. I also told him that when I run the A/C at other places I've lived, I have to have a constant humidifier running as well. He reassured me that this was the best option for me. I love my swamp cooler, and it has a temperature setting as well. It basically acts like central air. It kicks on and off on it's own and adjusts itself accordingly. AWESOME! I was having an issue with my AC not doing a great job cooling the house and sometimes it would literally run all day and the temperature would not drop. I was impressed with the reviews, so I called Unique Heating and Air (UHA) and they came out on 6-28-16. The tech's name is Adrian. He checked the inside and outside units, took some measurements, etc. He said the coils needed to be cleaned, so got the hose and sprayed it through ($40). He also said the compressor is not getting enough power and that it is shutting off (which I had heard it shutting off briefly at times) and he wanted to replace the dual capacitor & blower capacitor. With everything, $392. I said ok, he came back on 7/5/16 and replaced the parts. I was out of town for the next 2 weeks, came back and started noticing the same issue with the house not cooling. I called and he came back on 8/4/16. He said that he is going to have to charge me a service call if he has to look at anything because it was more than 30 days from when he first came out. Seriously? Who cares when you first came out? Shouldn't it be after you put in the new parts?? He was then kind enough to say I basically just need a new system (it is old) and pulled out some pricing on his phone to talk about this 13 SEER Rheem unit for $3700. I say, "what size is it?" He says, "3 ton." I say, "how do you know?" He says, "because that is what is there now." Run like hell folks. If they aren't going to do a Manual J Load Calc and just go by the size of a 20 year old unit, they are just trying to screw you. In addition, I asked him to email me the brands they install with model numbers so I could do some research on the type of system I might want to have installed. Never heard back. read more

Beware of the Bait and Switch being pulled by this company. Commercial states no service fee, then when you call it is an $80.00 service fee, then when they arrive they add more service fees due to multiple air conditioning units they were told about on the first call, then they try and add $125.00 labor fee to assess the work that needs to be done. Fixing nothing! Won't even schedule a time to fix the items they say need repair, telling you they will credit your account once the service is completed and someone from the office will call you. No call. Owner Adam stated he would refund the extra $80.00 service fee not stated on the initial appointment. Hopefully, he is true to his word but then tries to call leaving a message he wants to discuss again. Just want my money back. Stay away from this company should not have an A+ rating with BBB. read more

This company is one of the good guys! Found ourselves with no heat on Thu night, the coldest night of the year yet. Called a few companies to come out on Fri. The first company was Now Heating & Air, they "found" all sorts of issues, tried to sell me a whole new HVAC system and never really told me the problem. They left us without heat for the night. Today I had Unique Heating & Air come out and expected the same situation, but 30 mins later the service guy told me that the heat sensor needed cleaning and did it on the spot. He only charged me the emergency trip and service fee - less than $200. He did say that it may not be the complete solution, but at least now I have heat and have time to get full quotes. I'm so tired of these contractors that aren't honest and can't do the right thing. The fact that the previous company left us without heat for the night because they were trying to make a large sale is shameful! Highly recommend Unique Heating & Air. read more
