Do not do business with unique home solutions. They oversell all of their products. Their service department is abysmal. You will wait months for issues to get fixed from installs. The lifetime warranty they offer is great on paper but in practice sucks because of their service department. I've used unique home solutions for a Windows install and a shower renovation. Both of these experiences have been miserable. Their sales team is great and friendly however they oversell on the quality of their product and craftsmanship. Unique Home Solution installed a shower in 2023. The work was a disaster. The caulking looks like a a kindergarten class. The tile was broken by the installer and lied about of the damage. I contracted with UNIQUE HOME SOLUTIONS in the fall of 2021 for new fascia and soffits. I was given a quote by Darren and Jeff. I paid about 50% down. Later, they refused to start work until I contracted with them for a new roof and gutters at about $40,000. The quote was written by the "Vice President", who claimed I have a "nice home" and needed to take care of it. He wrote the estimate on a yellow legal pad. Nothing was official. This was during COVID, so the initiation of the project was delayed. I received threats regarding payment BEFORE the job was even started. I called the company to get the job initiated myself around July 2022. They stated they had NOTHING to do with the payments. I get this, but they delayed the job, trying to force me to buy THEIR NEW ROOF and GUTTERS. They insisted that they could go no further until I bought THEIR NEW roof and gutters: $40,000!! LOL They REFUSED to even START until I got a new roof. Of course, they did not tell me I needed a new roof until I had signed the paperwork!!! What an unscrupulous company. I was outside several months ago and noticed a piece of the trim was missing. I called back today (90 days later) and was finally told that the piece was on backorder. I will have to pay a "service fee" of $125 to have the trim placed. It seems it was never there. Of course, Kristi was "confused" since I had not called earlier about the missing piece. I did not share with her that I had been hospitalized, as she accused me of being negligent regarding the inspection of my home. The piece tucks, and I suspect it was NEVER there. She implied that the wind was the cause of the missing piece and asked if I had sent a picture. Of course, she made these assertions without reading the notes. I sent the picture of the "back-ordered" piece in June. The risk of water getting underneath the fascia and damaging the wood would be my FAULT. All the evaluations are true!!!! This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. My sister and brother are retired general contractors for home improvement, which is the ONLY reason I knew what to say and demand. I asked my sister and brother-in-law if these tactics and behaviors were common or ethical, and they said "NO". Unique should have advised me on the new roof and gutters before I signed the paperwork, instead of trying to force me into buying THEIR ROOF and GUTTERS. Avoid them like the plague. If I could do "0" STAR or less (-ZERO), I would. BTW, I had a NEW roof placed for $17,000. The gutters were 4 years old when they claimed I needed new ones. Then they STARTED the job. Lifetime warranty is advertised. The tilting mechanism on our window broke. Called for service. Waited nearly a month. Service Tech broke the frame with his spreader. He called the office. Admitted his error. He said they would order a new frame. It would take 4 to 8 weeks. Week 9 we call to check on the status of the order. Rep said it was still not in. Could not give us any more info. Week 12 called again. Rep tells us the repair was done on June 16. No, it wasn't. Give her the ticket # of the work order. She says there is no such ticket # for us. Asked to talk to a supervisor. Had to leave a voice mail. At this point, the supervisor has not returned our call. Which has also been a common theme. No return calls. Look elsewhere!!! Unreliable, unprofessional, shotty craftsmanship, and an overall flaky business. I paid out-of-pocket for every window in my house to be replaced including 3 total tear outs. The installers were frantically trying to complete the work in 1 day stating that they had been scheduled to do so because they had another job the next day. The installers were doing the best they could, but the company and scheduling left no room for them to take their time to do proper work. Then my project had to be broken up into multiple days because they figured out in the middle of installing that they didn't have all the supplies needed to complete the job. I don't know if there was one appointment beyond the initial sales call when they showed up on time or even bothered to show up at all. There must be a little to no communication between their scheduling team and field staff. They boast a lifetime warranty, but that must be out of necessity because my windows have not been in for 3 months yet and I've already had 5 windows not able to close!! It took them over a month to come address a window that was stuck about 2 inches open knowing that the temperatures were at the freezing mark. My window was open a month in freezing temps before they came to fix it!!! Here I am again with another wasted day as they were supposed to show up between 230PM and 4PM and it's been another no call no show from Unique. My home is left unsafe as multiple windows won't close in order to lock. Not to mention constantly having to leave them voicemails that go unreturned. They damaged my plaster wall during one of the tear outs and had to come back 3 different times to repair it leaving chunks of plaster dried to my carpet because they didn't protect the floor. Mind you the sales rep stated that they would be very clean throughout the process... they were not. l I'm at my whit's end with Unique. Where is the customer service?? These people are absolutely relentless. They came to an expo and we gave them our info to come out and look at our roof to give us an estimate. Not long after, we ended up getting hail damage and insurance is now covering our roof and we decided to use a local, reputable roofing company, which we informed them of that we will not be using them. These people call me AT LEAST once a week. Every single time is from a new phone number. I have asked them over and over to STOP calling and block their number, only for them to call me the next week from a different number. I had the team come out to my home to give an estimate on replacement of a front door. Their presentation was impressive but they quoted %200 of all other contract companies. On top of that, we weren't ready to actually sign anything then and there. We told them we would discuss the repairs as a family and call when ready to go under contract. Instead, Kristen from their sales team called monthly, then weekly, then daily...literally every day...asking if I was ready to install my doors. Even when I asked not to be called, it seemed like an invitation to be called more. We honestly were leaning toward using this company until they bombarded us with calls. The shower is still not right and they've been here several times. The salespeople measure first to give (ridiculously overpriced) estimates and then someone else returns to take "accurate" measurements. Initial installers had difficulty getting the shower assembled because the glass was not the right size. There was a huge gap between the top of the shower walls and the metal frame of the shower and one section apparently couldn't even be installed. They made it useable but it was unattractive (a section of the opaque shower wall covered the side panel next door that was supposed to be glass). Someone higher up returned to inspect work and measure AGAIN. Second install and the gap between the top of the shower and the glass walls was less than before- but there was still a gap where there shouldn't be one. So they make a third panel but install the obscuring glass pattern horizontally when it should be vertically oriented. They fourth panel is ready to be installed and they scheduler tried to give me a date about 6 weeks in the future. I vented my frustrations in a respectful manner and the 2 hour job was able to be scheduled within in week. That's how they earned 1 star. (never mind that yelp won't less us give 0). I inspected the work today and am including pictures. I wish I would have taken pictures to document this entire fiasco. Ugh. The door is still too short and the seam on the top of the shower is not smooth. read more

I Linda T. purchase 12 windows in 2022 from Unique. Paid CASH around $23,000 plus. I was referred by a friend that did business with Unique and spoke highly of their service. Therefore, I purchased my windows with Unique. I called Unique windows March 11, 2024, and spoke to Jeff. I told Jeff I have some concerns with the corners of my lower's widows. Jeff gave me an email address to send the pictures. On March 12, 2024, I called back, to verify the pictures were received. I spoke Kristy and I was told that the address I was given was incorrect. Kristy gave me the correct address for the near future but, I ask Kristy if I could send the pictures to her, and she said yes. She stated she would forward the picture on. A week went by, and I called and, I was told the person that handle scheduling services was on vacation. and will be back on Monday. I finally got a call, and I was told that there would be a $250 trip charge. At this point I am getting upset. I spend $23,000 cash money for windows, and I am going to be charged for someone to come out and look at the issue of the windows. I ask why I would pay for someone to inspect the windows that was installed by your company. What about my warranty on the windows I ask. I was told there a trip charge. At this point, I wanted a copy of my contract. I realize they never gave me my official contract. I ask for a copy. I called the next and got John again. I ask John for the owner's name and phone number. He told me that the cant give me his number. Jeff said he would send the owner an email and cc Kristy on it. I said please include me on the email, he informed me that he can't attach my name to the email. Now I am getting the run around. Nothing happen, I called the Monday. I got Kristy again and she stated she did get the email from Jeff. However, I have not heard anything from the owner yet. I also, said to Kristy, I am still waiting on my hardcopy contract. She stated they did not put enough postage on it the envelope. She will mail it out again. I waited another week and called Tuesday April 9, and Kristy stated the contract was mailed on Monday. Today is April 16, 2024, and I realize I still have not received my contract. My friend that referred me apologies for the services that I am receiving. I told my friend that I have not heard anything from the owner regarding my concerns. I only went to Unique because of the referral. I was originally going to go with Bee Windows. At this point I wish I had gone with Bee windows. I will wait a few more days to see if I receive my contract. This is very disappointed being a Cash customer. One would think that when a Service/Repair person shows up for a SCHEDULED job, they would have the necessary parts to complete the job. While there, he did "fix" another problem but created another one where the window barely opened and wouldn't close properly after tilting the window in. Repair job #2, again, schedule and again didn't have the needed material to complete the repair. Ask #2 about the window closing issues, decreased the closing resistance and said the closing mechanism works fine as long as you push the latch back into place! It's a spring loaded, automatic latch but now I have to force it back into place to work correctly - why didn't I think of that???? Repair #3 - they can "squeeze me in" in 4 weeks so the Service Manager can do the repair himself. They (the scheduler) wanted to make sure someone who knows what they are doing comes out. How nice of them...someone who knows what they are doing. I'll update in a month. PS. The repair I am waiting for is a 15' piece of trim with adhesive on the back...peel and stick. Move along and find a local contractor. This company is a rip off and you will be stuck with a faulty product and they will not refund or find a resolution. I will never recommend this company. They charged 300 percent of the original value, 4k for 75 ft gutters and gutter guards. We are satisfied with the gutters but not satisfied with their gutter guard they installed, their managers or their customer service. We had the salesman come and he said what sets them apart from others is that the guard cover the entire gutter system. We discussed icicles forming and whether that would be an issue but they claimed to be the highest standard. The first winter storm we had, our ENTIRE gutter system had 100 percent of it icicles covering our gutters which caused a layer to form on the edge of the gutters and ice forms on the ground and porch. That's a hazard! What is the point of having it installed? We made an immediate complaint. Meanwhile, we were in the middle of replacing our flat roof system and looked elsewhere because we were having issues with Unique. We found Chapman Neil instead. They stated they had the same gutter system as Unique and that Unique surcharged it over 300% of what it cost. Chapman Neil installed the rest of our home for $750! And it was the similar footage! That is not right!! We're LIVID!! We went back and forth for months regarding our complaint. Jeff the manager over their gutters was always out of town and after several attempts to contact, he eventually stopped by. He never reviewed our pictures. No one at Unique will call us back, we kept getting different people when we ask to speak to the corporate office and a supervisor. We were told they would look into it. We have been dicked around and basically told they will happily take off the gutter guards but we will not be refunded. What about warranty? They stated that was the only guard they offered. What kind of service is that? Find me something else? What we did not know is in the contract, they state SOME icicles will form so that is their loophole with not working with us for a refund. Fix it, find something else but don't just throw in the towel and stay FU! That is not right! I tried their corporate office and never got a call back. When I did speak to a supervisor came Tina she said she sends the messages to Jeff but he is the final word. Funny I had to call multiple times for her to tell me this. The only positive thing about this whole transaction is our finance company calls us regularly and asked about our product and how it is going. We are doing our best to find out what to do. I am worried about paying it in full when we are disputing our faulty product. We could had it done ourselves in the time they take to respond. I do not recommend this company, I do not recommend their customer service, and I will never use their services again. We made every attempt to contact the owner Bob, but no resolution. I contacted the company to get an estimate on having a window changed into a door. Salesman came out and was nice and knowledgeable, but way too "salesy". I wanted a solid, interior door and then a second exterior storm door. The inside door alone was over $2500. My entire budget for this project was $1000-$1500. I explained it was too WAY overpriced, but he continued to try and sell me on it. He talked about how the security doors are so great and they won't dent. They were pretty good on my windows, screen door and bathroom remodeling. But they are SUPER expensive and once you buy, they will not stop bothering you any time of the day, which that gets old really fast. If you have the money, then I'd pick them to do more work to the house. My windows (triple pane) and screen door was close to $5,000... that's WAY TOO MUCH MONEY, ok. On my bathroom, I got the toilet, sink/vanity, tub remodeled/replaced as well as the floor and that was a pretty little penny too. I forgot the price of that. But again, they have always done a GREAT job, but they are just too expensive. I do love the warranty though. If I end up selling this house, I think the warranty will go to them as well, not 100% sure. With the warranty, if something breaks, I think there is maybe a $50 fee to come out and fix it, so it's not free as they say it is. But learning about other companies, some of them will match prices and maybe give you a better deal with the same warranty. On roofing, my Aunt got an estimate and they said it's their own brand name, which I found out that to be a lie. I cannot stand liars for one. I do think that "their brand" is just any old brand, but the warranty is covered if something happens. I believe that they use a cheaper version of things but their warranty replaces whatever however many times you need it to. Like on my bathroom, a couple months of having the tub, there is a spot on it. I can see the metal or whatever is underneath the white of the tub you step on. So, it makes me think that it's not that good of quality. :( read more

We had a gentleman randomly knock on our door from Unique Home Solutions - very polite, and offered me a 20% discount on services if I signed up for a free estimate and evaluation. We signed up and a man came out two days later per schedule. He did run about 10 minutes late and I wish he would've called, but he was nice and professional. When it comes to home services, I'd rather somebody give it to me straight and not "sell" me too much. I want a no nonsense approach, but while this guy clearly knew what he was talking about, he also was selling hard. He was at our home for 3 hours and by 9:30 pm I had to rather forcefully explain that I was not going to make a 12,000 dollar decision (for 10 windows) this late at night with no thought or consideration. The financing option given was also at a 16% interest rate - not something I'm interested in. After the gentleman left, I was pretty visibly agitated with the touch of pressure that had been applied. The man had done a great job of convincing us the job was necessary though, so we have started shopping around. We moved forward instead with a similar product from a competitor for 5k less, 0% financing for 36 months. read more

Will came out to do the job. He was very polite, respectful and professional. When he finished I could hardly tell he had been there. My bathroom really looks great. My wife loves it. This is my second time doing business with Unique. Over 20 years ago they installed new vinyl siding and remodeled a sun room. After all this time the siding and sun room still looks great. But I. feel. so. angry. tonight after the salesman, left our house after staying for just short of THREE HOURS. My husband works a very stressful job with many many hours. Our free nights are rare. We expected that someone would come take a look at our roof, maybe take a shingle sample, and email us or give us a call with a quote in a day or two - maybe even tonight. Instead, we got a three hour sales pitch and couldn't figure out how to get the guy to leave. At one point he even mentioned that their only bad reviews were from people complaining about "pushy sales people," which he "wasn't one of those;" At any time we could "ask him to leave and I would leave now." After he literally has us pick how the color of shingle we would want, he quotes us $28,990!!!!! When we tell him that we cannot afford this at this time he goes through a whole bit about how he will try to help us out, they don't have as many jobs as they need right now, and basically explains how supply and demand works. He then quotes us around $23,000 if we will go under contract tonight with financing. He started asking personal information about our finances, how much we can afford, how we make financial decisions, and then told us how we aren't doing a good job at making financial decisions. He says that his life is "so much better now that I don't stress over big financial decisions; time is money." Well, buddy, you're a roofing salesman; you're probably not the guy I'm going to take financial advice from. He was friendly at the start, but by the end he was just so rude. First of all, I didn't even get to use their service as I was told by one of the scheduled employees that I had to wait a couple of months for pricing to go on sale since I could not afford to pay full price right away ( I could do a small down payment) EVEN THOUGH they said they do financing. I just wanted a free estimate as I'm looking around FOR pricing only! Basically declined me and tried to get me to sign up for a credit card (no thank you) The first time I called to schedule an appt for an estimate, the first lady was nice then got sent to another lady who was the main problem I dealt with. She told me EVERYONE who lives in the house MUST be there at the ESTIMATE! I then told her multiple times my bf and I are not married, we did not get the house together, so therefore I AM the decision maker on what goes on and in the house. She kept arguing with me then had the audacity to ask "Don't you want your bf to be there to decide?" I told her no not really (him and I already had a deep conversation that I am the decision maker since he moved in with me) but kept forcing it upon me that he had to be there just for the estimate! DO NOT RECOMMEND!! So all in all, these past 2 phone calls were rude, sexist, and I got declined (and to wait for pricing to go on sale) since I did not want to open up a credit card right away & I have a car loan that hasn't been paid off yet! Save your time and money (lots of money) and go somewhere else! I also got suckered into a "free estimate" from the Indianapolis Home Show. They were first scheduled to come out on a Saturday and they called 30 minutes before the appointment and canceled. So we rescheduled for 2 weeks later. This time they showed up, two guys doing what seemed like the "good cop - bad cop" routine. The guys were nice but they were there for nearly 3 hours! My house was built in 1934 and is less than a $100k house. I was getting an estimate on the following. 1 Front Entry Door with small window above it. 1 Front Storm Door 1 Rear Entry Door 1 Rear Storm Door 1 Basement Door (standard steel door) 3 Very Small Basement Windows (12" x 24") I played their game and picked out the doors I liked. They said the front of their book was the more expensive doors and the back the less expensive. So I went with some about mid way for the Entry Doors and then basic on the rest. Picked out my door hardware, looked pretty basic to me. And after sitting through all of that, I get the grand total price of?????? $24,xxx!!!!! That's right folks, more than 25% of my homes value! I laughed because they didn't even blink when they told it to me. But I could tell they knew I wasn't going to accept that! They ended up knocking off like $750 or something. (big whoop!) I saw him writing the prices down, they wanted like $5,000 + for each door! And the door knobs and deadbolts - those were $550 per door! I asked how many people actually say YES and have them do the work... They claimed about 30-40% have them do the work. Think about that. I could have a 3 car garage built and it would probably be less than replacing a few doors with these guys! SECOND STORY! My brother had them come give him a quote on remodeling a small downstairs bathroom. He had one quote from a local contractor for $7,000. Unique quoted him $21,000!!!! He could completely remodel his bathroom every 10 years for 30 years for that!!!! Why would anyone hire these people. The best quote from the salesman was this. "Why pay someone else to install something you already have." Meaning, everyone else will install the same junk you already have in your house and it will just fall apart. While their products are superior (which they were nice, I will give them that) and they are guaranteed for life! If you have a lot of money, they might be fine for you. They quoted over $11,000 to replace the tile in a 30" by 35" shower. (That was without a shower door included.) They had been given our contact information thru a drawing at the Indiana State Fair. We reluctantly allowed their sales representative to come and give us a quote. (He seemed to be a nice guy.) After getting the sales pitch showing us how good their materials and workmanship were, he handed us the quote which amounted to over $1500 per square foot! [$11,365 for about 7.3 sq ft and 8 ft high] Nothing out of the ordinary included or required. After we told the salesman that it was much too expensive, he threw out a verbal estimate that was still nearly $8,500. Still far too expensive for us. The salesman pleasantly departed. Then the next day, we got a phone call from Unique from somebody claiming to be a "scheduler". He said that they wanted to send someone else out to give us another quote. They wanted to come out on Labor Day (2 days later), AND we both were required to be present. We told him we weren't available, and if they couldn't get the price down close to $2000, there wasn't any reason to come back. He insisted that the come back "to verify the dimensions" and give a new quote. I explained that, if they could get the price down that much, it appeared to me that they were trying to "rip off some old folks" with their first quotes. (My wife & I are retired seniors.) He made me so angry that I finally hung up on him. I never let them come back. read more

Signed a contact for bathroom remodel April 28 th, work to be completed within 5 weeks. It is now July 29 th not only is it not finished it will be another 4 weeks before the shower door comes in. We paid cash up front so they have their money and no longer care about the customer. Workers didn't show up the first day, second day they got there at 11. Tried calling to complain but the guy just kept coming up with excuses, I finally got so upset I hung up, they never called back. read more

We had Unique Home Solutions come out to replace our gutters and our roof (and chimney flashing). Since they installed the gutters, we got a discount on the roof and they also removed the gutter covers for the roof work, preventing damage. Also, the roof was a complete tear out, down to the trusses, so I had the opportunity to interact with the roofing team for a few days, and they seemed like good guys. They checked in with me frequently to see if I had questions or saw anything amiss. The products (gutters and roof) are holding up well and look very nice. When we had a problem with rain overrunning our gutter in the valley of our roof, they sent someone out within a week to get a diverter put into place. We have had no further issues with it. Both times they were supposed to come out I did not get any updates from the time I signed the contract to the time the company called to setup the installation date. However, we also don't start paying on the product until after it is installed, so no worries there. (They also weren't emergent fixes, so we could wait patiently.) Both times we also had a salesman who was at our house for 4ish hours. The first time it was a team of two, who, I felt, spent more time socializing than taking care of the business at hand. I had a newborn and had to leave a number of times to nurse and nap her. Additionally, one of these two used my restroom and urinated on the floor around the toilet and did not clean it up. The second sales visit, for the roof, was better, but still 4ish hours long. At this point my baby was older, but we still had to step out to feed and nap her during this visit. This salesman was less pushy, and stayed much more on topic. The sales people do make your repairs seem like emergencies, most likely because they want you to buy the same day, but the quotes are good for a year, so I feel comfortable saying that it's likely you have a least a year to get your fix done. For both services there was a second person who came out to do the actual measurements. Both times this person was very friendly and quick with his work. For both installations the teams were very friendly, very efficient, and cleaned up very well after they left. They provided financing through a smaller bank, and we elected to sign a contract the day of quote, so our information was taken so they could set up the payment plan/account with the bank at that time. We have considered refinancing or moving the loan elsewhere to consolidate our payments, but currently the setup is fine. Overall, I think they are a good company with room to improve. The products are good and the install teams are good too. It seems they just need to do better with their sales staff and customer followup. I would likely use them again. read more

This company is incapable of effective communication. Once you spend over three hours with the salesman, expect to never hear from the company again unless you personally contact them. Even then, several messages are "taken" by the customer service center, and no one returns your calls. You have to be very persistent and continuously call the local office until someone at that office actually picks up the phone. The customer service center is useless; I'm nearly convinced the CSR's sole purpose is to prevent the local office from actually receiving calls. read more

Can't believe that Unique Home Solutions is still advertising.. They lie, their products, NO Good, False advertising.. I purchased a door and a window.. the door is rusting.. called them 3 times, each time we arranged meeting, no show.. Another time, they called, said 'on way' & here I was in process of death of good friend... 2. they advertise; 'free handyman service', HA... when I called to have done, was told, 'will be $70..00 hour, that's free ?? read more

We didn't hire this company for services. But, we did have the joy of a much too long quoting experience. The gentlemen who were in our home were very nice, have had zero respect for our time. Twice we told them we just wanted to wrap it up and get the quote, and the salesman continued to talk for 45 more minutes. It's great to know what you're buying, but this sales pitch was overkill. We have an almost two year old that needed our attention, (and needed to go to bed), but we literally couldn't get them to leave until 8pm. They also quoted one price, and when we weren't biting, dropped it by $3k immediately. Seems legit. Oh. And they wore masks into the house, but both of them took them off while they were talking, which was a 2 hour sales pitch. He also told us that was his l, "quick version." We had our windows replaced here recently. The experience was good overall. I really liked the salesperson. But as I have been reading the previous posts I realize that he did use a lot of the hardball sales tactics... the installation of our windows took a few days more than we thought it would. Waited for nearly a month for the shutters. But all the crew were friendly and cleaned up well afterwards. The windows are nice. Everything the salesperson said they would be. The locks are a little tough but they work. Hopefully there won't be any issues that pop up, but after seeing these posts I'm a little nervous. read more
