This company is incapable of effective communication. Once you spend over three hours with the salesman, expect to never hear from the company again unless you personally contact them. Even then, several messages are "taken" by the customer service center, and no one returns your calls. You have to be very persistent and continuously call the local office until someone at that office actually picks up the phone. The customer service center is useless; I'm nearly convinced the CSR's sole purpose is to prevent the local office from actually receiving calls. read more

We didn't hire this company for services. But, we did have the joy of a much too long quoting experience. The gentlemen who were in our home were very nice, have had zero respect for our time. Twice we told them we just wanted to wrap it up and get the quote, and the salesman continued to talk for 45 more minutes. It's great to know what you're buying, but this sales pitch was overkill. We have an almost two year old that needed our attention, (and needed to go to bed), but we literally couldn't get them to leave until 8pm. They also quoted one price, and when we weren't biting, dropped it by $3k immediately. Seems legit. Oh. And they wore masks into the house, but both of them took them off while they were talking, which was a 2 hour sales pitch. He also told us that was his l, "quick version." We had our windows replaced here recently. The experience was good overall. I really liked the salesperson. But as I have been reading the previous posts I realize that he did use a lot of the hardball sales tactics... the installation of our windows took a few days more than we thought it would. Waited for nearly a month for the shutters. But all the crew were friendly and cleaned up well afterwards. The windows are nice. Everything the salesperson said they would be. The locks are a little tough but they work. Hopefully there won't be any issues that pop up, but after seeing these posts I'm a little nervous. read more

16 weeks zero contact! I found them at a home and garden show and they came out regarding windows, but advised us that the gutters were probably more of a pressing issue for our home which was great they were not too pushy during the meeting and quoted us prices that made sense with what other manufacturers were quoting for windows. We ultimately decided that gutters were a better choice for home improvement this year, for 125' of gutter we were quoted $5700 which comes out to nearly $45 per foot installed, which is very very expensive but i, and probably the next owner, wouldn't ever need to clean the gutters or worry about them again. I paid nearly half up front and they said it would take between 12-14 weeks, this was at the end of march . It was a very wet spring so i guess that sort of made sense, but still nearly 6k to wait for 3 months seems not right, anyway they came out to confirm the measurements the next week and said 10-12 weeks until completion, which was great seems like they will be ahead of schedule. Then nothing, zero, no contact for 15 weeks. which is 16 weeks from the day we signed the contract, we needed to wait this long because their contract is designed to protect their company with the language stating "approximate job start" and "approximate job completion" which is ridiculous. They said 7-10 business days for a refund, but who knows how long it will actually take, if they run their accounting anything like their customer service. Based on their performance of not even attempting to communicate via phone, mail, or email for OVER 100 DAYS I would strongly recommend going through a different company to have any work done on your property. read more

I received a call from one of their sly schedulers. From the beginning, they probed me for information as if I had an obligation to answer their questions. The woman asked if I was the only decision maker at home and wanted to know my income. Afterwards she transferred me to an associate who was even more pushy (this guy pushed for a commitment) All of this after letting them know I had already hired a similar company and had a pending installation. They were so persistent that I agreed to set up the appointment. Also, they asked what the other company's price quote was. They stated they needed at least 90 minutes of my time (sales pitch). After the call, I felt I was set up and later called to cancel the appointment. Only to be transferred to another pushy salesperson. Stay away from these vultures! read more

I came home to a man on my property. He says I need new gutters, I already know who I'm going to use most likely but I figure another quote can't hurt. I should have known s something was off when he said my husband had to be present. When it comes time to set up an appointment for an estimate he calls someone else, when I say Friday would work the first question I am asked is if I work days or nights, then i was asked if I am normally off that day or if that was out of the ordinary. Do not and I mean do not use this company for any reason! All they care about is harassing you for personal information. After speaking to a representative today I was asked for my credit score my bank statements and for other personal information just to get an estimate. When I would not give them this information they harassed me and and basically said I'm not good enough to own their product. They do not care about you all they want is your money. They quoted me $14,000 for a bathtub. Go anywhere else you will get much better service and you will be treated like a human being and you will not be asked for your credit score or your mortgage interest rate. read more

I wouldn't give them even one star. It sounded good at first, but the work and product were not any where near worth it. Two men, who showed up two hours late and then had to work into the evening, put in a standard window and door for me. The lost was $4300. The door and window looked nice, but over the past six years since the work was done, I've had problems. The door doesn't shut properly so wind, rain and even snow come in on two sides. The window unit has broken so that, if I want my window open now, I have to carefully prop it open with a stick. If someone wanted to break in, all that's needed is a push on the window. In addition, people from Unique kept showing up unannounced at my home for several months after installation trying to sell me something else. I kept telling them I wasn't interested, but they kept coming back until I threatened to report them to the Better Business Bureau for harassment. However, I did have a door installed by Lowe's about five years ago for $500. The workman was on time and worked quickly. I was very happy with the work and with the door, which doesn't let in the winter and still looks great. It was a costly lesson I learned. My advise is to go to Lowe's or similar home improvement store for windows and doors. No, I'm not affiliated with any home improvement store. I'm just stating what I experienced. read more

We haven't even had any work done and probably never will. To attract customers don't piss them off before even giving a quote. Had an appointment for an estimate on a Tuesday at 5pm. Received 3 desperate calls to "reschedule" to Tuesday at 5pm. For some reason they thought we had an appointment on Monday at 5 and needed to move it to the next day. How can you not make a note or relay the message to other employees so that the customer doesn't get the same call about "rescheduling." At the third phone call the guy calls and asks about what we were having quoted. I've told the first guy allllll about what we wanted first time around. We wanted to reconfigurable our bathroom to make it more accessible and larger for my husband. We wanted to move the plumbing. So this guy tells us they don't even do that and we would need a sub contractor. He then just says thank you for your time and we will cancel our quote. Tuesday at 5 rolls around. A Unique representative is at my door trying to do a quote for us. HOW ARE YOU GUYS not communicating to one another?? If any company tries to push their services THAT hard at any type of home show that should have been a big clue that it's not the greatest company to work with. Lesson learned. read more

Don't ever, ever, ever let them get ahold of your phone number. They will call you all day every day. And when you tell them that their roof is 2-3 times more expensive than everyone else, they'll send someone else out to give you a "better offer" which is still only minimal off the price. The sales people that come to your home are amazing. They run through their script but are very nice and understanding that it's not in the cards. It's the people on the phones that call you over and over and over again. They'll even call you to change an appt time and then call you again less than 60 min later to talk about why you changed the appointment time... uhh because you just called me and said the appt I made a week ago no longer works for you. Wow... where do I start with this s**t-hole of a company & customer service... I guess I can start off with when I was conned into buying the gutters & leaf guard system.. The salesman was full of lies (found out after the fact) and I dumbly agreed to pay over four thousand dollars for the gutters.. As the weather season was turning for more rain I wanted my home (new purchase Feb 2018) to ensure proper drainage as the gutters that came on the house where insufficient in drainage. I was told within 2-4 weeks I would have to gutters installed.. as the weeks passed I would call to check the status and ask when... as week four approached no date has been set for the gutters.. a month and a half later... I call again, still unsure of a date.. Near the ladder part of month two.. I called again... this time I was told that they have me scheduled two days out... I take off work to ensure I am home for the install.... Day of the install rolls around and it is almost 1:00 PM.. still no gutters, no return call, nothing... I call AGAIN and am told that they are loading their truck with the supplies and will be on their way... 3:30 rolls around.. NOTHING. I call yet again and am told that they are running extremely behind and they will not make it out... A week passes.. of course, with no contact from Unique.... I called every single day and was finally scheduled... So mind you.. this is mid-month three.. and I am finally getting the gutters on, not 2-4 weeks... 12 weeks. Please also note, I put down a 1000 Deposit (in hopes they would use that as encouragement to act quicker)... Instead.. I waited 3 months for over-priced gutters.. a terrible feeling if you ask me... Also, if you can't see from above.. I had to do ALL of the COMMUNICATION with this company... i made every single call, I was never called for any update, response, NOTHING. Since the gutters have been installed, everything has been fine and dandy, because I didn't have to deal with Unique.... well this past weekend.. March 29-31st -- My roof began to leak heavily, leaving a TON of water inside of my house.. I called unique Saturday morning and was promised their service team to come out Sunday to remove the gutters because the roofers where coming on Monday... Well, guess who doesn't show up, or call me back... of course the Unique team.. I call Sunday morning first thing to verify a member to come out and remove the gutters... I was informed by the secretary that they are the only person there today and no technician would be out to assist.. my main question/concern is this.. why have a secretary there on the weekends & it is shown online that they are open? They can't do jack s**t for their customers. I have been kicking myself for ever dealing with this joke of a company. PATHETIC. WORTHLESS. A**h****... So this morning as I am currently writing this review (April 1) ... unique calls me, well most likely because i called them 14 times since Saturday and have been leaving messages.. I am told that they cannot have a technician come out for a few weeks to remove the gutters to allow the roofers to complete a job.. i told the secretary that this is an emergency and i have acquired about 40-60 gallons of water in my living room, i used terms like emergency, asap, nothing.. no sympathy, no desire to help their customers.. I got a call back from Unique Home Solutions on October 16, 2018 from one of their sales representatives. I told him I had 1 window that needs to be replaced. The first thing out of his mouth was to see if my spouse was going to be there. I told him the window needs to be replaced and she does not need to be there. Furthermore I explained I had received a few estimates on the window and I was down the road in this process. The salesman said he could come out at 2pm and gave me several days that he could make it. I told him I am getting ready to go to work at that time and it is not a good time for me to be taking appointments. Had I been offered at 9am or a 10am time, I might have let him bid the work. I told him I would try to get back with him. I felt insulted by the spouse remark. I felt I was being worked by the 2pm time - not before. After reading several of these reviews, better sense says to look elsewhere. For what these people spend in advertising, one would think they would have their act together. Since the yellow pages are full of other vendors, I will go elsewhere. Like others in the contracting business this job maybe be TOO SMALL for them to deal with. read more

This Company is a Pain. I did not even want to talk to them, but the wife scheduled so I listened. The salesman was really nice, but really $26,000 for a 2000 sqft roof. Seriously?? It took me 4 hours to even get close to finding this. I was told appointment would be about 1.5 hrs not 4. But that was just the rant. The whole story started at the Home Show. I registered for there give away and it took 6 months and threatening to sue to get them to quit calling. Then they were door knocking (this should tell you all you need to know), but she liked the sales person, so she scheduled. BIG MISTAKE. They were prompt and on time right at 11:30 on the dot. They did the inspection. They came up with thing to try and scare us into immediately saying yes. They did their sales pitch on the company which was and hour alone. Then the products another almost 2 hours. Then to find out the price on the original scope of work was over $41,000. This was just roof, gutters, soffits and fascia. So then we got down to the roof only after about 45 mins more and came to $26,000 but he was nice just because he liked us to drop it to $18,000. He kept trying to get us to finance it because then we could afford it I guess, but refused to give me the APR or the Term. Dodge almost every question after that and really got mad when I broke out a quote from a competitor for under $8,000. His response well its not a closed quote. I said yeah you think there is $10,000 worth of extras they can throw on? I did finally get him to leave around the almost 4:00 hr after being there at 11:30. He did have the gull to ask if he was over priced I said YES, and by a lot. The worst part was the wasted day. I am debating sending them a bill for my time they wasted, especially when I heard from an ex sales rep that they are obligated to be in your driveway for at least 4 hrs or they get in trouble. NEVER AGAIN!!!! The only way they will get close to setting foot on my property again is for FREE!!! and the I will still have to bill them. read more

Well I haven't actually used this company but I've heard nothing but good things about them. I recently had them out for an estimate and they seem very knowledgeable. After doing a little research, I found that they are listed as one of the top 100 remodelers in the nation. If you could give no stars I would. I called to set up an appointment for a window that had a seal issue. Anthony at unique demanded if my husband would be there because I would not be able to understand a window. The he spend 5 minutes inquiring into my finances. The company is sexist and it's a business policy because I called back to talk to a manager about the call with Anthony"wife's husbands must be present" we would not want to have to explain the window again to you husband at a later date - it's 2015 get over yourselves. The reason for only giving four stars is simply due to lack of communication. We were given a couple different start dates with no communication when the dates came and went with no show or call from Unique. We had to call them to get answers. After two months of delays and getting a little irritated over the phone we got a roofing crew sent out. The job is done and looks good and so far working good. Work on your communication! People will understand delays and tollerate then better with communication. read more

I found unique home solutions through home adviser to replace our back door. I wasn't happy that I couldn't see prices of their doors online and was even more unhappy with the cost of the door. While I do understand that the quality is pretty good, I didn't really want to pay that much. Unfortunately, my husband wanted to go ahead and go with them, so we did. While the door is gorgeous and does look high quality, it still seems overpriced. They called me to check in with how I felt about their work which I did feel that they did great work, then the lady on the phone was pressuring me to send a guy over to look at our front door even though I told her we were a very long ways away from even getting a front door but she was pushing me to do it the next day :/ Now they are nonstop calling my husband and I which we do not answer and continue to block each number they call with. Just because of the pressure and constant calling, I will not be using this company again. You guys need a different strategy because people do NOT want to be harassed and not to mention on 7/4 holiday! If UHS really did give away $10,000 in renovations to 6 different winners last year, and claim that they post about winners on website or what location they won in, then where is the PROOF! I've been hard-pressed to find any posting of any kind, and as someone who signed up, and has endured phone calls, this is quite frustrating. We also purchased "the highest quality windows on the market" for the "highest price" as well. BIG REGRET! We had about 5 windows installed just about three months ago, and we've already had problems with them. The latest problem is that our kitchen window will not lock properly, and my mother has called several times to have someone come and check it out over the past couple months, and I even went into the office in Columbus to discuss it and was told I would receive a phone call. Well, guess what, no phone call. So much for window security if our window doesn't lock properly. What good is a lifetime warranty on windows if you can't get them to come out and look at/replace them? Unethical and unacceptable business practices. read more

I contemplated giving this review 5 stars, because our quote for 18 new windows and a new front door was one of the best jokes that I have heard in years. We signed up for the free estimate because we were told that we would be entered into a contest to win $25,000 of home improvements. Considering we are first time homeowners, we thought this would be a great way to potentially pay for a few home projects, but boy were we wrong. Our in home visit lasted two and a half hours, and after learning all about their company, we finally figured out what our estimate would be. We could pay for 18 windows and a new door for the generous price of roughly $45,000. My girlfriend and I have been laughing since the gentleman left. Considering our house is only worth $150,000, we couldn't think of a single way how that price could be justified. He tried to "sweeten" the deal when he said they were currently having a 25% sale. He asked what was stopping us from making a purchase today, and we didn't even know where to begin. It is good that their warranty last two lifetimes, because I believe I would need to live about 200 years to ever see my money back on such a purchase. The funniest thing about all of it, was that even if we won $25,000, we would need to pay an additional $20,000 to just finish this one project. We haven't gotten any quote from any other company that has been more than $12,000. Thank you Unique, but no thanks. read more

My husband and I only have the weekends to be together so our weekend time is valuable. So at 3 no one here, no phone call. I telecommute from home, so I was there to answer the door when the sales rep rang the doorbell. I'm usually immune to door-to-door sales pitches, but it was late in the afternoon, my mind was frazzled from a day full of work crap, and my "secretary" (a 7-year-old dachshund) was barking her head off. I guess my defenses were down, so I took the bait and made an appointment for the free estimate. Immediately afterward, I regretted it - I hate doing business with unsolicited callers at the front door or on the phone. My apprehension was substantiated and reinforced by the online reviews I read, so today I called the 1-800 number to cancel my appointment. Tim answered; I introduced myself and told him why I was calling; he said he'd transfer me to the right department. About three rings later, an automated VM system picked up, so instead of leaving a message, I dialed 0 to speak to a representative. Devin answered; I told him everything I told Tim, and he promised to transfer me to the right department (just like Tim did). A few rings later, Brian answered; I explained my situation, and he asked what city I was calling from. When I told him, he said, Sorry - that's in Indiana...somehow you got transferred to our Ohio office. He gave me the "direct line" to the Indiana office - a 317 area code. When I dialed that number, no one answered - not even an answering machine. I let it ring until my phone prompted me to hang up or retry. Since someone from "Unique Bath" called my home twice since I made the appointment, I checked that number, saw that it was not the same number Brian gave me, and then dialed that number. This time, Demetrius answered, and when I told him my reason for calling, he immediately launched into a "rescheduling" pitch: Would the same time Tuesday be more convenient? How about Wednesday? This day, that day? I told him I don't want to reschedule, and then asked him whether he would cancel my appointment. His response was to ask whether I was no longer interested in buying gutters for my home. When I reminded him that I had just asked him a question (Will you cancel my appointment?), he replied, "Yes, but I asked why." Fair enough - so, I told him, no, we don't want gutters anymore. He told me to have a blessed day and hung up. In the end, this was my fault. I should have stuck to my zero tolerance policy toward unsolicited sales pitches. Lesson learned. read more
