Everything was amazing! The flavors were rich without being over-powerful. Each dish was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Amazing service by the owner Roop personally saw to all our needs. Very flavorful Indian food around this area. For appetizers we tried gobi Manchurian which was crisp and flavorful. One the best gobi Manchurian! We also tried paneer tikka for starters. Dish was beautifully presented. Paneer was soft and the sauce on the top paired really nicely with the paneer. For the main we tried daal makhani, kadahi paneer and malai kofta. Kadahi paneer is a must if we you are a paneer lover. It was very flavorful and not overly spicy. We ordered variety of breads- onion naan, garlic naan and tandoori roti. This is hands down, the best Indian restaurant in the Sacramento area, and I'm saying this as someone who grew up in India, and has eaten North Indian food all my life. This place serves the most authentic Punjabi cuisine in the area, and that authenticity also means that it will unfortunately be spicier than some people want or are used to having. So, if you're not fond of or unable to tolerate spicy food, tell them to tone it down. But let that not dissuade anyone from trying out this place - it's a hidden gem for sure like some other reviews here mention. My personal favorites here are the parathas and the chhole bhature, but the other items are phenomenal as well. read more

Came on a Saturday evening, not very busy and we were greeted and sat immediately. Ordered right away and food came out pretty quickly. The gobi manchurian was good; had a great, crunchy texture but the sauce leaned more tomatoey rather than sweet/sour like I've normally experienced with the dish so it didn't really taste "manchurian" in my opinion. My paneer tikka masala was also good, not amazing or standout but solid. The garlic naan was unique in that it had more of a garlic bread flavor, which I wasn't mad at. The rice had the taste and texture of instant which was strange, but I could be mistaken and maybe it was just overcooked regular rice. No Air Conditioning whatsoever, ice is nice in the glasses especially when it's hot inside of the restaurant. They served my dinner on a metal prison tray, seriously. And tiny portions with no imagination, completely boring. The Indian food I'm used too makes me happy and super tasty, this was scorching hot , Carol asked mild and it was not, super hot. The next day, Carol had problems in the bathroom. I didn't but it was by far the worst India experience ever. Server was the cook and he asked many times if I was okay, why ? We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening, and despite its positive Yelp reviews, it was surprisingly empty when we walked in. We placed our order at the counter and ordered the samosa chaat, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, and garlic naan. The curries come with rice. They asked whether we wanted our food for there or to go and we chose to dine in. I was deciding between the lamb or the goat curry, and the staff was very helpful in offering recommendations, which I appreciated. After ordering, we chose our seats, and they quickly brought over clean plates, napkins, and utsensils. Our samosa chaat arrived first, and it was very delicious. It was very flavorful, filling, and a great appetizer. As we were finishing it, the rest of our order came out all at once. Everything was served hot and tasted amazing. The lamb curry stood out in particular. The meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. The garlic naan paired perfectly with the curries. The staff were also very attentive and checked in on us multiple times throughout our meal to make sure everything was okay and that we had everything we needed, which made the dining experience even better. The portions were generous. Honestly, one curry would be enough to share between two people. We weren't able to finish everything because there was so much food. Overall, this place was excellent. One of the best Indian restaurants that we have been to. Very nice atmosphere and a lot of good options. Quality in flavor of our dishes were delicious. Got the butter chicken and taki chicken with bread. Roop helped us out was friendly. A bit pricey overall. also he offered rice or bread with one of the dishes, but it sounded like it was included but it is an extra cost. I think the price of one of the bread options should be included in the cost for three people it was almost $100 total including the 15% tip. Overall would recommend. read more

We went to this restaurant on November 1, 2025. We hesitated at first, as we noticed that nobody was there, which tells me that the food may not be fresh. I had the tandoori chicken, jeera rice, chicken tika masala and Garlic Naan. I also had a mango Lassi, which is one of my favorite drinks. I wish I would had trusted my instincts. The Tandoori chicken was dry and tasteless. I think it was originally cooked the previous day and reheated, The chicken tika had very few pieces of chicken. The garlic Naan was fresh but We could not taste any garlic. The Mango lassi had a strange taste that i could not identify. I could identify mango, but there was another ingredient that tasted unusual. Again, I wish I would have trusted my instincts. If the place is empty for hours during peak hours, it has been my experience that the cooking is not good. read more

My Fiancée and I went here on a Saturday afternoon and were the only people in here, which later absolutely shocked me, as this was an amazing meal for a very good price with some of the quickest service I've ever had. If you eat a lot of curries, you know that most restaurants can't simmer a curry for hours like you might at home to get those deep flavors, but these are true homestyle curries, and you can taste the hours of labor put into them. As we were eating, the kitchen staff could even be heard using a stone mortar and pestle to make their own ginger garlic paste! Give this unassuming restaurant a try. Everything I have had here is absolutely amazing and prepared with true authenticity! Best place for indian food. Their cholle bhature are the best I have ever had. I am vegetarian but my friend ordered their Lamb Hydrabadi and she said it was delicious. Been to this restaurant multiple times. It is a cafe type of environment, no frills. However, the food is freshly prepared and is excellent. Chef Rupinder customizes the dishes per the requests of his guests. The dishes i have repeatedly had are daal makhani, fried fish, goat curry, chicken curry, Amritsari kulcha, tandoori roti, naan, and Fakhar halwa. We waited for over an hour for food. 3 items came out quickly, no forks, only spoons, no napkins, no water. Asked for water a few times. Finally it came, still no forks or napkins. after we were done with the 3 items for 4 adults and 4 kids we waited. The french fries were excellent​, the chicken was generous but overcooked, very dark and dry, my goat and lamb dish had very little meat. After we finished the 3 items, the waiter came out to say he lost our order and he had to ask for it again. It was late, a school nite so we took the babies to bed while the rest of the family stayed waiting for the reordered food...they were starving. We got the food to go but where again disappointed after putting the kids to bed. I picked-up my food via the DoorDash App for pick-up. The restaurant texted me to pick up only 12 mins after I placed my order. So fast! All the food is pretty spicy--heat but with good flavor. The chicken in the tikka masala was a teensy dry, but delicious because they really balanced the flavor and the heat beautifully. Samosas are spicy-hot with a hint of Allspice. They come with a generous side of spicy mint chutney. I ordered enough to have leftovers. After 'marinating' all night, the food was even tastier the next day. How is that possible? Great food. This evening 10/19/24 I was using Door Dash to order my food and I called the restaurant asking them where their "papadum" was listed so that I can order it (I called them 2 months ago and they said they would add it to the Door Dash menu) but the Indian man who answered the phone was rude and said "I don't have time for this, I have people sitting in my restaurant" and he hung the phone up on me while I was in mid-sentence. I am ALSO a customer, AND a foodie, AND someone who ordered food from this restaurant regularly. Because of this RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, UNBELIEVABLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, I will NEVER ORDER from this restaurant again. To those who expect even the most basic customer service, you won't find it here. I recommend Tandoori Nights, The Grand Indian Cuisine, and Mehfil Indian Restaurant if you prefer and expect to be treated as any customer should: with respect, service, and professionalism. UPDATE: 10/20/24 the owner of the restaurant saw my review and called me personally to apologize. He also put the "rude man" on the phone and made him apologize also. I appreciate that the owner took the time to reach out and make efforts to rectify this situation.
