Vivian was really friendly and the quality of her work was exquisite. This was my first time here and I was very pleased with the service.

My nail broke two days after gel manicure with extra coats. Tried this new nail place near me because I really needed to soak off my other nail set. The guy who did my nail was nice and asked for my opinion throughout the session. However the nail broke literally 2 days after and there's space between the gel and the nail now. I wouldn't recommend considering the cost and how long it lasted.

Needed a new place closer to my job , read the reviews ( all glowing I might add) and decided to check it out . Was not disappointed! First of all , the place is super clean , bright , airy , and just had a nice vibe . My nail tech was LIN. Very nice guy , attentive , took his time and did an A-MAZING job on my nails . I get SNS powder every two weeks and this will be my new go to . It's also in the heart of Great Neck . Close to all the cute eateries and smoothie spots in case you want a treat before or after your nail appt! Definitely a plus in my book. They are a tad more expensive than the usual but who cares .. it's well worth it ! Check 'em on out and treat yourself for the holidays ! Thank me later ! Definitely recommend 10/10

I come here almost every month. They do a great job with shape and dipping powder. Most places make the gel for dipping powder very thick but here they do a good job making it look more natural. Designs they usually to a good job but they were sometimes expensive. Sometimes I get charged $5 per finger for design when designs are not that difficult. However, out of all nail salons I've been to in Queens, they have done the best job. I always come out loving my nails and I'm usually very picky about who does my nails. They are also very efficient.

I called this salon after recieving bad service from a neighbor salon. I was in after 5 minutes. When they say 5 minutes they actually mean 5 minutes. Not those bogus places that tell you 5 minutes and make you wait an hour. This place is the REAL DEAL!! From the moment I walked in, I was acknowledged with a friendly welcome. This place is clean, friendly, accommodating and prices are so amazing! Definitely my new go to salon. I had to sign up for their membership card because they are that awesome! LIN my manicurist was so detailed. Ive NEVER and I mean it never had anyone so articulate and detailed on my nails... he was just amazing and I could tell he really pays attention to detail. Im not one picky with nails but its little stuff like that that I do notice. Its just nice feeling like someone is taking their time and not rushing. Definitely 100% RECOMMEND!!!

I came to this nail salon about two weeks ago through the introduction of a friend. Small but clean space. They have a large selection of nail polish colors and SNS gel color. I was debating between gel vs powder when I came for my visit. She was very patient and accomodating with my questions, and explained the difference between the two and which was a better for for me. This is my first time doing SNS powder gel because my nail so thin and weak. Vivian did my manicure and another girl did my pedicure i forgot her name but both of them are very nice and sweet.

I made an appointment for 1PM on Sunday with Joanna, based on previous Yelp reviews. Upon walking in, the salon is clean, spacious, modern & well-kept. She took me a bit earlier than 1PM, as she was done with her previous customer. They have a wide selection of gel colors, displayed in 4-5 different books. I came specifically for a design, as it seems like that's what they're specialized in. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. She filed and shaped my nails perfectly, paying close attention to detail and making sure I was content after each step. Everything was in a sterilized bag prior to opening, which I really appreciate. I'll admit, their prices are a bit higher than other salons I've been to. I paid $75 for a UV gel manicure with design. But you're definitely paying for the cleanliness and detail! They also have a points card which can get you different things based on the number of points (paraffin, free manicure, etc). I definitely would advise calling prior to make an appointment, cause they were turning people away without appointments!

Been searching for a nail salon in the Bayside / Great Neck area that can do SNS well. I used to go all the way to Flushing to get them done, but now this is definitely my new go to place! I made an appointment over Yelp with Johanna after seeing all the pictures and positive reviews. I came at 5:30 on a Thursday, and although everyone was busy, they were still able to get me in a for a pedicure. Johanna was very meticulous and I'm amazed at how nice they came out! She was patient and really gave me what I wanted.

First time here and I am very happy with how my nails came out. I gave Joanna a photo of what I wanted and it turned out exactly like the photo. She was very detailed and let me know the price of everything to make sure I was okay with it. Since my nails were weak, I had SNS under which was $41. I also had 4 designs all together which was an additional $30 (the design was done in gel). The price isn't too bad & most importantly I really liked how detailed she was. I will definitely come back.

I have been trying many salons and my nails looked like like they had been in a war. The edges were a mess and the powder from the previous salon was crack on almost every nail. I made an appointment for 5:30 for both myself and my sister. They took her right away I waited about 20 mins. But I did make the appoint the same day and later on in the day. The staff is very friendly and I felt like they really cared about doing a good job. I Nicole she did a fabulous job, I literally had horrible nails to work with. She asked how I like my shape and I told her more square. She filed one and asked me if I liked it. I was very happy. When she was done she asked me if I liked my nails. That shows that they care. My sister had May who was also very nice and my sisters nails looked fabulous. The whole staff was so kind. I am definitely a happy customer and my search for a nail salon is over. I am attaching a photo I wish I had the before photo. One more thing I must say. I felt their pricing is very fair and they were very honest about their pricing I was going to do a design but it was late so another time, but they were upfront about everything. Beautiful clean salon as well. Love love love!

I just moved to the great neck area. I came in as a walk in and during pandemic they are taking Per caution taking temperature washing hands as soon as you enter. The place is clean. What a salon normally looks like in the weekend they are taking limited amount of people at once for their safety and ours with social distancing. I didn't get the name of the woman and gentlemen who did my nails but both took their time and did a great job. The price was good for gel manicure and pedi. If you want save a few buck bring cash prices are cheaper than paying with a card. Overall I'm happy with my experience I will be coming back! read more

I live in Flushing and the place I have been going to started to rush my nails and didn't do as good as a job like they used to. I went to Unique Nail & Spa based on Yelp reviews. This place is located about 20 mins from me and the parking isn't that great, however I must say that it was well worth the trip. I went to Joanna and she did SNS powder the best I have ever seen. Love that they only take appointments so that each technician can take their time on each customer. Vivian did my nails, and she did an great job fixing my nails and took her time to take off the old gels. The color came out to be just like the sample and very even paint on every finger. The place is a little bit pricer than other places, but it's worth the price. Will definitely return!! read more

I love this nail salon. I'm very picky with pretty much everything and I love everything here. The location, parking, the work and of course people. They really care about customers here. They also have an amazing masseuse. You can tell they appreciate consideration back so just a couple tips (which should go anywhere) make appointments before going and make sure to bring cash because they aren't big on card tips which can be forgotten due to COVID so they do prefer cash here!! Highly recommend this place after two visits and can't wait to go again!! read more

Went to this salon last week and got a gel mani. They were able to fit me in without an appointment which was nice, but definitely make appintments if you plan to go on the weekend! It gets busy! The owner was very meticulous and made recommendations as to which designs will look nice and really took his time. My nails came out beautiful! It's been a week and they're still perfect so definitely recommend this salon for gel + design. read more

I recently moved to the area and was on the hunt for a good place to get SNS done. While a lot of places offer this service, I've found that a lot of them don't do it in a way that actually lasts the length of time that SNS is supposed to last. I had a couple flops with other salons and decided to try this salon in hopes I'd finally find a good one. After going to first time I was thrilled at the result. Everyone was so friendly and you could tell they actually take the time to get your nails done correctly. I waited until I got them done again to really make sure this place was good. I am so pleased with my results and I am happy to drive a little further to get the results I want. If you want SNS or any nail treatment, you should absolutely go here! read more

This review is long overdue. I have been going to Unique Nail & Spa for about 8 months (Lin usually does my nails). My first time there I got a pedicure and a dip powder manicure, it was absolute perfection, it was smooth, neat, and clean. I was hooked after that. Recently I switched to gel manis and pedis and they are just as good. The color selection for both the powder and gel is extensive, from nudes to neons, so you never get bored of the same old thing. About three weeks ago I went in with a picture of what I wanted and the results were spot on, I was very happy. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about Unique! read more

My girl May! She is so sweet and attentive to every detail. For someone very specific and difficult like myself, she is an angel sent from heaven. She takes her work very seriously and I come out fully satisfied, everytime. I religiously get powder gel manicure and regular pedi and she's not only a perfectionist but also super fast! I've had to sit through 2 hrs+ for some people to get the outcome perfect like she does everytime. The place is super clean, welcoming and sanitary. They will measure your temperature and have you wash your hands at entry. There is always parking around, which is super convenient. Make sure to call ahead for an appointment! read more

It was my first time back since COVID-19 and it was nice to see that the salon was following covid safety regulations very well. I always get gel extensions and nail art when I visit. Usually Tommy is my go to guy but this time I had a different nail tech. Everyone here is so talented! I showed my nail tech a design and she recreated it perfectly. My first time doing sns ($35)- my second time ever getting my nails done professionally. I made an appointment the day before and was able to accommodate my time. I went in on time, picked out the color and waited 10-15 minutes to get started. She asked for my desired length and shape and asked periodically if i was okay w how it was turning out. i also asked her how long it would take since i had to feed the parking meter and she said she was able to do it in 30 min- which she did. the session ended w a quick shoulder and hand massage. Affordable price is all I can say about this place. I think his name is Tommy who was super friendly and knowledgeable about nail shapes. He was working on my sister's mani. He runs the show there for sure and does a great job. The girl with the purple hair wasn't too friendly, who did my nail and didn't do a good job, the shapes are uneven, there was bubbles, and my nail mess up right around dinner time. Celine who did my pedicure did a great job and my toe is still looking great after a week. I would go back and ask for her next time when I'm in the area. I like that they use a disposable liner for the pedicure tub which is important for cleanliness. They didn't offer any hand, feet, shoulder massage like many nail salon. It's not perfect but they get the job done! Edit in response to owner. It's great she cares about her business and the team who works for her, she really cares about getting feedbacks from reviews to make her business better. They really have some great hard working people there but there really is lack of cohesiveness. I saw someone received light massage on chair and one at drying nail bar. There was no one else including me and my sister (full busy afternoon too) so there is nothing to be confused about. If massage is not technician thing, it's all good with me. read more

Great new nail salon! I'm newer to LI and have been testing a few different places in nearby towns. I'm about 15 mins from GN and will come to Unique nail and spa moving forward. Their gel mani is affordable and they have so many colors - sometimes too many, it's overwhelming! They're very friendly and sweet there. It was such a good environment. read more

Came here for the first time with my girl. Called to make an appointment and they were very patient on the phone, answering all the questions I had with a professional mannerism. They were able to squeeze us in for the following day in the evening! My service: sns tips (extensions) plus a regular pedi. My friend opted for color gel mani plus a regular pedi. I had requested for Tommy and johanna based off all the rave reviews. Tommy did my nails and Anna did my toes. Very satisfied with both. Tommy knew what shape I wanted (that's my priority, the shape!) based off my specific description. Trust in this man!!! Their sns dip powder color selection is pretty extensive too. They've got nice sleek crocodile embossed books for it! Johanna was unable to take my friend because of a schedule conflict but that is completely understandable. We didn't catch the name of the girl who did my friend's mani/pedi. She was very sweet too though. Did I mention that they also check everyone's temperature as soon as you step in the store? And they did a full sanitary spray down of the store as they prepared for closing and also between services. Final tip: they offer a slight discount (~10% off) if you pay with cash as opposed to card! Remember to tip your technicians in cash though (unsure if they even accept tip on cards). Sum up: give them a shot. Super accommodating staff from start to finish. Even if I had a question in the store, all the other girls did their best to answer as well! Decent/fair prices, superior service, clean and tidy interior? What more could you ask for?! read more

Johanna - MY GIRL! I'm so disappointed in myself in failing to write a review earlier. Clearly as I sit painting my nails each week, quarantine me has gathered a lot of appreciation for my people at Unique Nail. With that said, I cannot stress how much I love getting my nails done here as I've been a regular for the past 2 years. My SNS powder gel nails lasted two months as we headed into quarantine. Johanna is so kind and genuine. Tommy can get your nails done in record time, while also making them look perfect. Maye is my favorite go-to girl as she knows how to perfect my shape and has an eye when it comes to smoothing the powder to make it look natural as ever. Prices are on point - within reason and certainly competitive when it comes to how detailed the entire team is with each customer's needs. I'm beyond excited to get back in (let's go Phase 3!) and I'm hopeful everyone's already scheduling an appointment via the Google sheet above. Its so convenient to make an appointment and get there by bus or lirr. The staff is really nice and really work on getting the designs perfect and i love my gel manicure. My friend enjoyed her pedicure. 2 weeks of gel and there are no scratches, lifting or peeling it looks fresh. Clean place. read more

I have been looking everywhere for a decent salon in the Queens/LI area. I decided to check on Yelp one day and came across this place. The high rating along with the message response time caught my eye. I messaged the salon through Yelp and Johanna was very responsive. She helped me book my first appointment. The salon is very clean and updated. Color selection was great and I had many options to choose from. Jojo did my pedicure and did a great job. She read my mind when My color wasn't opaque enough and gave me three coats to ensure the color was right. Tommy is quite impressive. He did my gel overlay with gel polish. He knew exactly what I wanted and communicated with me throughout the entire time I was getting my nails done to ensure I got what I wanted. He is very detail oriented and does a neat job all around. He did not rush. VERY hard to find. Johanna-he's a keeper : ) Thankful I gave this place a try. Finally found a reliable salon. I encourage everyone to give this place a try. read more

I went in for a mani pedi for my wedding. The place was clean and the staff were nice. They used disposables as much as possible. They did a temperature check before entering and had you wash your hands. I specified that I was the bride and wanted a French manicure. I will say that it did not turn out as expected. It was not evenly painted. From a far you can't see it, but they could have done a better job. read more

I decided to get my nails done here for a wedding after reading all the reviews. I made an appointment for a gel manicure with one of the techs I saw had great reviews and I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he helped me pick out the colors. My nails came out even better than I expected. However, it did feel like he was rushing a bit. I understand I came on a busy Saturday, and I initially did not mind that he was doing everything quickly because it seemed like he was still doing a great job, but I did get a small cut by one of my cuticles and it's only been 4 days since my manicure, and I can already see just a tiny bit of chipping on the edge of 3 of my nails (he assured me my nails would last at least 2 weeks without chipping). They're not too noticeable so it's fine, as long as they don't chip any further anytime soon. I'm not that rough with my hands, so I can't really tell if it's because of me or because my nails weren't sealed properly. However, I think I would come back next time, and maybe try a different tech or come on a weekday when it's less busy. read more

I got SNS powder and a pedicure here a few weeks ago. Their regular polish selection is impressive but the SNS... not so much. It was done really quickly -- probably the quickest I ever got a mani/pedi done. However, this is also because the guy who was working on my nails didn't clean up around the edges or do my cuticles. He just removed the old polish and went straight to it. I usually get my nails done every 2 weeks and they're usually still in really great shape, just a bit overgrown. However, before I hit the 2 week mark, 7 out of 10 of my SNS polish cracked. I've never had this happen before so it was really concerning, especially because of all of the other good reviews I saw of this place. It might've just been the tech that I had but I'm just thoroughly unimpressed. read more

I done a lot of research around the area to find a decent nail salon. It was nice that Unique Nails & Spa takes appointments. The people who work there are very courteous and on point with their service. Apple did my nails and took the time to make sure the nails were perfect. Overall, I recommend this nail salon. This is one of the best nail salons i've been to! They are very clean! They also treat all the customers very nicely. I usually book an appointment a few days before and they almost always have time! I recommend asking for Nicole if you are looking to do designs of some sort. Other than that, all of them are great at polish. Highly recommend! read more

I have been dealing with a cervical disc injury with symptoms down my arm as well as a forearm strain and he was able to work with both, increasing my comfort level while traveling that week significantly. Monica quickly diagnosed my skin problem as over-drying (which is counter-intuitive when you're having a break out) due to a different skin care regimen I'd been on lately. She did extractions where I really wanted to see my skin look lighter and cleaner but didn't go crazy with it so my skin was left calm and smooth. I know this is a lengthy review, but IT HAD TO BE SAID AND DONE! I've been trying to get my nail appointment for the past week or week and a half calling this place every day and they are not picking up. Finally today I was able to get in touch with the salon after blocking my number. (Weird huh)Joanna picks up and when I ask her why isn't anyone picking up she makes up a story that I'm the only one with problem reaching them .I tried to make an appt with Tom she tells me he's booked till June 1, mind you I last got nails done by him and when I tried to make appointment in advance with them when I was last there 3-4 weeks ago , they tell me they don't have their calendar that far up and I should just call. Not only did they lie to me then but also tried to rip me off on gel design. I chose to have two designs on two fingers only and they said it's $15 extra, which I had no problem with but then Tom who did my nails doesn't complete my design that I asked for and when I tell him that's not the complete look he said " that's another $10 extra to add little star" I mean WTF, you charge for extra star on a nail and think that you'd get away with it.? A design is a design , doesn't matter what kind ,if it's only charged by finger it shouldn't matter what design I chose. No? It was absurd and plain out rip off which I refused to pay and made him complete the full design. So when I called today after not getting a hold of them for 1week, Joanna tells me there are no available appointments for Tom or herself till june1, and hangs up on me. So that just tells me that if they have available appointments in June that means they could have booked me when I asked them 3 weeks ago when Tom finished my nails but they decided that they don't want to deal with me because I wasn't letting them rip me off on my money . I have never had issues with anything like this, the discrimination and plain out hate towards customer who's bringing you business is something I wish I had never experienced and I will never recommend this place and their bad service to anyone. Customer service is number one and this place is definitely lacking in it and i would think twice before getting anything done here. This just shows unprofessionalism and bad customer service In every level. read more

I scheduled my appointment somewhat at the last minute and Johanna was very accommodating in making my appointment in the time frame I requested I had a powder manicure with Tommy that was done perfectly The selection of powder colors exceeded my expectations so much that I had trouble making my selection. First timer here! And definitely becoming a regular: ) I had such a great experience with Owner Tommy. He did such a great job from shaping, removing cuticles to applying my gel polish. He was very patient and allowed me come in right before he was closing his shop. (This is an appointment only nail salon, however he mentioned he sometimes takes walk ins) I got lucky! The vibe and atmosphere in this salon is very relaxing and has great calm vibes. Tommy he is patience and experience He did polish fully cover all nail sides which some of nail salon they don't do perfectly.
