Lucy has done 3 family photo sessions for us so far. I LOVED working with Lucy on a photo session for my son and was super impressed by her beautiful studio and by how easy and fun the entire experience was! Chill is not the word I'd usually use to describe taking pictures with a 5 year old, but Lucy was so warm and just amazing with my kiddo and she got him over his shyness right away. We arrived a bit early (there's really easy parking right in front of the studio) and were happy to see the assortment of books in the comfy waiting area. She had snacks and drinks available and a well-appointed bathroom too. Lucy has really put a lot of thought into what families need, and it really shows. Long story short, I didn't realize I wanted a photoshoot done for my son until he always 3.5months old when he was no longer a newborn. I looked up for baby photographers and found Lucy! It was the best decision I've made. I've already read through her blog and she's definitely a warrior mama! She responded to my inquiry in under 48 hours and was able to squeeze me in ASAP (I got lucky!). I could not be anymore excited. Lucy is very professional, detailed, and pours her heart into her work. All expectations are laid out for you and there is no pressure. After making the decision to work with Lucy, a phone consultation is organized, followed by the contract and questionnaires regarding color scheme and preferences for the photoshoot. Then comes the day of the shoot, you'll be given a tour of the facility and may need to assist during the photoshoot as needed. Lucy was very gentle with my son, and was very patient as we tried to get my daughter to participate in some of the pictures. The gallery was up for reviewing in under 48 hours and I've received my edited photos in about two weeks. When I got her email, I literally dropped everything to look at the photos! Great experience with Lucy Liora Photography! I wasn't aware that we had to schedule new born photos so soon after delivery but Lucy was able to explain her process and timeline. She was even willing to work with our schedule. She was very considerate when she explained her process and very mindful of being safe around others in such close proximity like wearing a mask, washing her hands before the photoshoot, using a air filter during the photoshoot in the studio. Lucy is the best newborn photographer! this review is long overdue, but after much research, in looking for a local newborn photographer in the San Gabriel/Pasadena area, I luckily stumbled onto Lucy's old studio when driving by to grab some Hong Kong waffles next door for my then 2 year old son. Unfortunately, she ended up moving locations since she was due to have her own baby, but she worked with us to accommodate us, and was able to provide a studio location for our shoot not too far away in San Marino. Even though she was a new mom her own newborn baby, she accepted us as a client, and watching her work to set up every shot with such tenderness and professionalism...i wish i could buy more sessions. Newborn sessions are super expensive and i totally understand why now, but Lucy is worth every penny imho. She explains everything in detail before you book, and works with you every step of the process. She is very patient and lovely to work with. As a first time new mother, I've blessed with a beautiful baby boy and numerous wanted and unwanted parenting advice. But, one of those advices was to make sure that I get newborn photos of my baby because he will constantly change. I've always loved photography, but never had such an experience like the one that Lucy provided. Like many other advices that I've ignore (hehe), my friends told me to book my infant photos while I was pregnant. But when you are pregnant, there are so many other pressing things to worry about and the last thing on your mind is to book a photography session. Trust me future moms, don't ignore this advice because the best times for infant photos is the 8-10 days window. I'm going to start by saying that Lucy is simply fabulous. First, she was able to accommodate my appointment after I already had my baby. I had an emergency c-section, and was still recovering. Yet, she was able to accommodate by taking my son's photos on his 14th day. This is important because it requires more work and patiences from the photographer when they are older and less sleepy. Second, Lucy knows what she is doing. Again, as a new mother, it was awesome to book the appointment and show up. Lucy is organized, creative, and will not disappoint. We showed up with baby and Lucy took care of the rest with her awesome husband while we sat in the next room eating snacks and watching Netflix for 2.5 hours. She also has the cutest little studio!!! Third, she is unbelievably talented. We showed up with baby and she fitted him in numerous costumes and props. Her photoshop skills are off the charts as she took off all the tiny imperfections of the dried skin on our baby. We even had a family portrait taken too. Despite being sleep deprived for the past 14 days and recovering from labor, she made us look like beautiful glowing parents. Initially, I was only going to get her basic package, but I loved the photos so much that I ended up with a different package, a 20x30 canvas print, and ordered extra digitals. She takes the time to answer all of your questions before you finalize your appointment, sends tips to prepare for the photo shoot, and is super flexible with her time as you make your final photo selections. I had a vision of what I wanted which I explained to her and she quickly sent me links of ideas and examples. She then had a phone consultation with me to discuss rates and how much time we would need for everything I wanted to capture. I found her rates very reasonable and was very impressed with her good communication. I decided to book a maternity shoot focused on pictures of my family but no belly pictures because I just felt uncomfortable showing it. We also discussed scheduling the newborn shoot for which she explained she had wonderful props for. I was very excited! When we arrived at her home studio for the family shoot she was ready and had all the poses in mind of what she wanted to get. She also convinced me to do belly photos because she is really sweet and reassured me that the pictures would be tasteful. My two kids (ages 6 and 4) and my husband also enjoyed the 1 hour session. My son was born a couple days later because he was 5 weeks early and Lucy was able to accommodate us right away at a time that worked for me. Now this was the shoot that I was so amazed with. She had everything ready for our newborn. She explained that she had expertise with babies and that she would handle him with great care. I really trusted her at this point so my husband and I just sat back let her work her magic. My son did not cry once with her as I watched her be very gentle with him. Once we were done I requested at least one picture so I could send out announcements and that same night I had a couple beautiful amazing pictures. She's super patient and nice and even though my baby was nearly a month old when we had the session, she was still able to coax him into poses that we thought were more newborn-specific; so even though we had to delay our session until baby was nearly a month old, our session was everything we had wanted and had experienced from our first two newborn sessions with a different photographer taken right after birth in the newborn period. Proofs and edits were super fast even though it was during the holiday season. Lucy was very professional and prompt when communicating to schedule the session and provide details about the day of the shoot. Lucy is a rare find. I was referred to her by a friend who was also extremely pleased, so I had confidence in her from the get-go. We purchased the "Belly to Baby" package for our twin arrival, so our first experience was during pregnancy as a couple. We shot at Tree People (just gorgeous!) and it's there that we fell for Lucy. She's not just extremely talented, she's FUN! And maybe most importantly, she managed to make me feel beautiful when I was 30+ weeks with twins. I honestly didn't think that was possible. I highly recommend HOUSE OF WANG PHOTOGRAPHY.... Here's why: I had three separate sessions with Lucy. 1) A solo maternity shoot at her studio, 2) a maternity shoot on the beach with my husband and our dog and 3) a shoot of our daughter once she was born. All three shoots were fantastic and I was very satisfied with Lucy's attention to detail (fixing my hair, laying the fabric perfectly and guiding me how to pose, etc). 1) In the studio maternity shoot, Lucy had beautiful maternity clothing I could wear that beautifully captured and complimented my belly. Any insecurities I had about my body were wiped away with Lucy's professionalism and ability to make me feel beautiful and comfortable during the shoot. 2) Our next shoot was scheduled so my husband could join me. Lucy worked around our schedule so that we would get the perfect day at the perfect time for the beach shots. Lucy brought a beautiful flowing maternity gown for me to wear. It was gorgeous! And I felt gorgeous in it. She was punctual and professional in this shoot as well and was great with our dog too. In no time, the special time on the beach with my husband and dog was shot and I was comfortable the entire time (which is not easy to say being 8 months pregnant). 3) I pre-booked Lucy for my baby's first pictures and she was flexible with the time, since we weren't sure when my daughter would arrive. I ended up having a stroke while in labor and both my life and my daughter's life were at risk. Three day's later, I was able to meet my healthy baby girl. Because I had my recovery and a newborn at home, it was nearly impossible to think of leaving the house. Lucy was awesome! She came to us! She packed up all her equipment and set up in our daughters's nursery. I couldn't be more grateful for Lucy's flexibility. While she was taking pictures of our daughter (10 days old) she was gentle and patient. She was so great! She involved my husband on some of the shoots which made it extra special. She also guided him on what to do. I was greatly pleased with how the shots turned out - she captured such a special time in such a special way and for that I am grateful. I will never have those moments back, but because of Lucy's attention to detail and creative eye, I can go there every time I look at the beautiful images Lucy captured. I highly recommend her. Lucy has been so phenomenal! From scheduling to the actual shoot; she has been so amazing! I happened to find her so randomly through Facebook, where her "model call" post was, and it just so happened to pop up on my news feed. It was a wonderful experience when we got studio shots of our newborn, Zoey. I was impressed with their setup as she had costumes & props galore. It was reassuring seeing Lucy handle our precious child at this early and fragile stage in her life. I would go so far as to say I would trust her to babysit if we were to take a weekender out of town. I was also able to catch up with my Netflix series on their tv when I was unable to handle the heat inside the studio. Kudos for their patience as well since I forgot to request the shot in the panda outfit only after the shoot was complete and baby Zoey had already awoken.
