Natalie customizes her treatments after an in-depth intake session which includes infrared imaging to pinpoint problem areas. She promotes living toxin-free as the first approach to healthy skin and recently added a line of supplements to her product offerings. I have been seeing Natalie for over two years and need to let the world know how wonderful she is. Now, you might argue that anyone who commits to rubbing your back for an hour and half is pretty damn cool but Natalie wins the prize. These are the three reasons why I would suggest giving her a call the next time you need a massage: #1 - She's just so darn cute and friendly. Again, maybe this is expected, but Natalie goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, calm and at ease. I have had the pleasure of receiving several facials from Natalie, but the hydrating and vitamin-infused ultrasonic facial she gave me yesterday completely solidified my loyalty to her magic! I came here for an eyebrow wax. The space was relaxing and I got greeted at the door. I am sad to say that my wax was not the same. I told her that I have been growing my eye brows for 6 months and trying to make them thicker. I showed her the arch line I was trying to grow out. Once she was done with the wax, she had applied eye brow color, so I couldn't see my true brow. Once I got home and washed it off the make-up, I REALLY saw what was waxed off. First of all, my brow is totally uneven. It goes from super thick to super thin! Also, I can see a bald spot :( The cut was really choppy. My main problem with my brows is that the hair grows straight and long. I've tried cutting it once and it was a nightmare. I relived the memory from this brow cut. The facials here are still fantastic!....The update is about the eyebrow shaping I had done. I let them get really beastly (which isn't as bad as it sounds bc my brows are pretty sparse) so that Cristin could really shape them right. I've had a few bad experiences with waxes that left me either overly plucked or with an overly dramatic expression. She asked a lot of questions about what I wanted, that's hard for me to articulate so I basically told her what I didn't want, which worked just as well. Lot's of tweezing and a little bit of waxing to get a clean line on top so that the exfoliation part of the facial after wouldn't irritate my skin. She also used some sort of light thing to make sure that skin didn't break out or get irritated too. No breakouts or redness occurred. I very pleased with the shape.... no holes in them from scars on my brow bones, not too thin, I don't look like I'm in shock...excellent service! read more

While their prices may look expensive at first, when you treat yourself or a loved one to a facial at Unique Verve, you will understand the price. You get A LOT of information, a lot of relaxation and a long time ...well relaxing. Mine was over TWO hours long, with the consultation etc. Read on... First, the decor and ambiance is amazing. The second you walk through the door you just get this warm "everything will be ok" feeling. I got the intro facial where you get a consultation and you will learn so much about your skin, things you thought you knew but most likely didn't. You'll answer a lengthy but very thorough questionnaire so that they can get a sense of who you are and your lifestyle. Next was my consultation. We talked a bit about the products I am currently using and why or why not they are good for the skin and I have to say it was the most honest and informative anyone has ever been with me! Next, you are guided to stick your head into this box with black lights with a mirror inside. This is where the horror begins, the things you THOUGHT you knew about your skin are revealed here. Natalie talked me through what I was seeing, what causes it and how to fix it. I had sun damage that you can't see under regular light, but under the special light, a whole new world awaited. I also was told by a previous aesthetician that my skin was combo, but learned that it really is dry. I have dry skin! She tells you how to fix the damage and dryness specific to your skin type. The actual facial was one of the most relaxing and amazing experiences I have ever encountered. I was so relaxed I kept waking myself up with little snores, oops! Natalie also went into detail about what she was applying, how it works and what it will do, but doesn't want you to answer so that you can just relax and enjoy. Her knowledge is pretty awesome and her personality was truly fitting. My experience included using ultrasound and very light electric current which allows your pores to really open up and take in all of the vitamins that we were getting in there. I will admit, it was a little strange at first but if you could see my results then you'll see its worth it. I've left other facials with bright red cheeks from having harsh sand rubbed all over, but I didn't get that here, nothing but soothing products. So, if you want to show your love to someone, get them a service here and don't waste your time at other spas, the knowledge you will gain cannot be matched elsewhere. Unique Verve has the best esthetician I have ever had - Natalie. She is wonderful and loaded with the greatest energy, which puts you into an amazing mood right when you enter the salon. Had a facial a few weeks ago. Smaller place on the third floor. Was greeted by the specialist and brought to a room and a questionnaire. Went through the black box experience -- she picked up contraption from the floor, placed on the bed, and asked me to rest my chin inside. Novel and she told me what I already knew about my skin...but it was fun / odd to see my face under a black light. Fell asleep during the facial and was relaxed. Felt a little less relaxed when she was a little too pushy in the sales of her products for my skin. I already have enough skincare at home and I'm paying you a tidy sum for this service, thanks very much. I had an allergic reaction in my skin for the next couple days, which wasn't ideal. MEN!!! I AM ONE OF YOU AND YOU SHOULD TRY THIS! I went to Unique Verve because a friend of mine recommended it. I hadn't had a facial in years and figured I'd give it a go and get my skin care back on track. I booked an appointment with a wonderful woman named Melissa. She was very pleasant and helpful while booking on the phone. We started with an overall health assessment. I'm a blue collar guy and she was very clear and thorough with explaining the benefits to my skin through various changes in my lifestyle. We then used this really cool machine that shows what's going on with different parts of my face. She explained clearly how we could treat each issue. Next came the actual treatment. Steam. Hot towels. Shoulder massage. Music. The smells. Everything was so relaxing I fell asleep several times. The immediate results of that first treatment were wonderful. I really felt fresh and rejuvenated. My skin has is looking amazing and it's almost been a week since my visit. I have what's known as folliculitis. Which is basically a predisposition to getting ingrown hairs. Melissa cleared them all up and I've been using her advice to keep them at bay. My facial hair grows very fast. The establishment was was very clean nicely decorated. All that to say this, I plan on going back every so often to see Melissa. Unless you have experienced it for yourself, you might not understand. One could laugh at the prospect of me describing a facial as "life changing;" laugh all you want (then go see Natalie to get rid of the laugh lines), but it really was just that. Years of experience in the industry, a desire to stay on top of the technology and knowledge, an expert touch, and a genuinely caring persona all make Natalie so deserving of the Best of Boston awards she has won. Prior to the treatment itself, one has a sit down consultation where suggestions are given for adjusting diet and lifestyle to improve appearance from the inside out. The Visia skin scanner (and I think she is the only spa in Boston to have this system) analysis showed damage that the sun and smoking had done to my skin and scared me straight. After 10 years of addiction and sun worship, I am proud to say I have quit smoking and apply sunscreen regularly as a result. Becoming a healthier person is worth 1,000x the cost of the service, and I haven't even gotten to the main event! So without rambling too much (I know, this review is already getting lengthy), here we go! The facial begins with a deep cleanse and exfoliation. Natalie explains the effective ingredients in the pre-cleansing oil, cleansing lotion, and toner as they are being applied. An exfoliating masque is also used. Now the words "applied" and "used" are very basic and do NOT do this procedure justice. When Natalie puts these products on your face, it is with a presence of mind and sense of purpose I would compare to an artist rendering a masterpiece. If "your body is a temple" then Natalie is the high priestess. Seriously. The massage techniques are not just employed on your face, the upper back, neck, and chest are included, making this a truly fantastic experience. The next steps in the facial include high quality products that are already top notch in and of themselves, but to make them better penetrate the skin, ultrasound is used. Next is an Algae mask which is delivered by electric stimulation, allowing the good stuff to get to a cellular level. I am very happy I opted to include the Algae mask on my eyes because I can definitely see improvement in a couple of very unwelcome lines! After the mask is removed, a final moisturizer application is performed. The treatment was beyond relaxing (meditative trance is more like it); when it was over I took a few minutes to regain my balance, and expressed gratitude to the powers that be for what is to be a new part of my life going forward. My mother noticed a difference in my skin immediately, which shows that it really works, as my mother is a "no BS" kind of lady. My 10 year high school reunion is coming up soon and I have the reputation of "cutest" to uphold (as voted by my classmates, not self-appointed). I am using Environ and Osmosis products from the Spa and I now have fewer fine lines and my pore size has improved. I have oily skin and that was a main concern of mine. This place is amazing! The level of professionalism and knowledge they provide is outstanding. I booked an appointment with Melissa for my first facial with Unique Verve. I have been there before for wax services and was pleased with Melissa's services so I thought I would try a facial with her. She provided me a thorough analysis of my skin type as well as tips on improving my skin and educated me on myths about certain products. The rooms have an elegant ambiance and tranquil music. I found the whole experience relaxing and rejuvenating. My skin had a dramatic improvement just from this one visit. Just wow! This place is fantastic. I went in for the "First Time Facial". It did seem a bit pricy at first, but it's worth every single penny. I was seen by Natalie, who was very professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. The whole process lasted about 3 hours and I enjoyed every single minute of it. Let me start by saying, I used to hate my eyebrows. In fact, I was embarrassed of my skin for most of my 20's. Three years ago, however, I discovered Unique Verve, and all of that changed for the better. I won't go anywhere else again. Melissa has completely transformed my eyebrows. They are beautiful. I was never a sun worshipper however I was not someone who used sunscreen on a daily basis either. I heard about the Visia machine that takes pictures of your face to determine where the most sun damage is and to formulate a program/regimen to repair the sun damage to improve complexion. So I took the plunge yesterday. I was certainly surprised at how much the sun can penetrate and damage your skin!!! The facial itself was ultra relaxing. I think I fell asleep a half dozen times Melissa was excellent in explaining each step and has a soothing and spiritual cadence to her voice and approach. I purchased a bunch of products that I will use religiously to help improve my grill!!! Skin feels smooth and looks even... I want it to last!!! Definitely recommend trying this treatment. It's not inexpensive but then again, I didn't get this amazing result from the bargain basement facial from the cheap places. read more

I am adding an update to my initial review, as I received my results from the Visia analysis portion of the consultation, which reminded me of how interesting this part of the process was. I forgot about it when I wrote my first review since I was so relaxed from the treatment:) To start, I was impressed with the size of the Visia; here I was thinking they were referring to a digital camera, and this is not the case. There is an entire room that is dedicated to this technological wonder. The camera part has an entire console which enables the face to be photographed from the right and left side as well as the center. There is a separate viewing computer where one sees the photos and scores.  This was a fascinating experience! Each picture could be zoomed in and I have never seen my skin in such great detail! I was very surprised at how much underlying redness I had; I was equally impressed that Natalie could tell which side I tended to sleep on, due to there being a greater amount of fine lines!  I do not see that much redness on the surface of my skin, so it was definitely alarming to know the actual extent of the damage. Visia also showed bacteria count, surface as well as deeper layer sun damage and the depth of fine lines/wrinkles. Natalie also let me know that the photos are saved and can be retaken in the future to track results, which is very exciting! In conclusion I was very impressed by Visia. Their First Time Facial is quite lengthy (3 hours) and may sound expensive, but it's worth every penny! read more

This is the best place to get waxed in Boston and Cristin is truly AMAZING at her job! They use a great hard wax (no terrible paper!) and Cristin is an expert at minimizing the pain. She is a true professional and really cares to do a good job each and every time. In addition to her waxing skills, the salon is pristine and has an incredibly relaxing atmosphere. When I'm there I forget I'm even in a city. I actually relax and unwind while I'm getting waxed...really....that says something. Natalie has changed my skin completely. I had terrible skin my entire life and on a whim went to Unique Verve, after a few treatments my skin healed and the redness went away. Not only is my skin incredibly healthy now, but a facial from Natalie is very relaxing - you will swear she has at least 3 hands. I make sure to see her monthly for a facial to keep up the goodness and make sure to recommend her to all my friends. I only wish I had met her when I was 13 years old. read more
