My son got his car tinted and I drove over separately to the location so we could get lunch while we waited. Today the thermometer on my car read 100°. When I got into my untainted car, I felt every bit of the hundred degree heat. His car after the tint install was dramatically cooler. Their prices are competitive with other vendors I found, but I was thoroughly impressed with the workmanship. I see why this place has such high ratings. Afterwards, I contacted Hot Tint in May 2022. They responded to me that day and told me to stop by the shop. I made an appointment for later that week. When I arrived, I asked them to install the unit and a backup camera. I can't recall how much time it took but it was done in a reasonable amount of time and I'm happy with their service. I called a few other shops around this time. A couple had other projects and couldn't get to me for a few months. A couple of others didn't want to touch the van because of its age, manufactured in 1989. Hot Tint was straight-forward. They said let them see what I have and they'll let me know if they could use what I had or needed something else. I appreciate that approach. I did have a couple of problems but they were responsive. While driving home, my radio rebooted twice. The cable came loose so they told me to return to the shop so that they could fix it. The second is my clock resets to 12:00 every time the vehicle is restarted. They told me to bring it by so that they can fix it but I haven't. I'm rarely on the screen to see the time and just had other priorities. I mention these items to show that they were responsive and willing to troubleshoot the problem. I rate them high also because there are many mechanics and technicians who can work on a classic vehicle but refuse to do so. There are a handful like Hot Tint that jumps right in and do the job. I'm finally ready to add an amp and subwoofer so I will be contacting them again soon.

A few things I'd have done differently a year later... they recommended doing a finish on my side steps that's similar to bedliner spray for durability, but it faded and is now gray instead of black. Also I'd have had them completely replace the door handles instead of wrap them. The wrap on door handles tends to degrade over time. They're fine now but I'm seeing the signs of wear and expect I'll have to replace the handles at some point. Kunza was probably the best priced compared to competitors and he did a really great job with my truck. The tint was amazing, and all of the paint details transformed my truck into what I always wanted.

However - my car, a Corolla driven infrequently and garage kept was not a difficult job. I just wanted a good exterior cleaning and wax and a thorough interior cleaning and with special attention to the upholstery shampoo - which I mentioned on the phone. The job I got was one rung up from the local carwash. No attempt was made to buff out any surface imperfections and the interior is such a disappointment to see every time I get in the car. I could have done a better job with warm water and a shop-vac. The car just wasn't that dirty, so they could have spent a little effort on the few spots on the very durable fabric seats. I think they just didn't bother because it's a little economy car and they had already been paid months ago, so it wasn't important to them. The evening I picked it up, the staff were oohing over an expensive sports car in the lot - I just think they have more interest in flashy cars than in customer service for the average Jane. It's been several weeks since the service, but it still bothers me every time I see the spots on the upholstery.
