Avast ye Mariners, steer clear of this place, if you need a DOT Physical(719K) and Drug…read moreScreen(719P)! I thought I would go here, instead of seeing a Doctor, elsewhere--bad move! Now as a Merchant mariner, for over 45 years, I've done this procedure, successfuly, ever since the USCG instituted it. Also, I was an registered EMT and am still a certificated Medical Officer, aboard ships. So I actually perform these type of exams. myself. aboard ships. Thus I was appalled, as I watched them, firstly screw up the DOT papers I gave them, and then proceed to fumble the Chain-of-Custody procedure. Well, sure enough, the Medical Officer called me and advised that there were "irregularitys", in the received samples, meaning the test was rejected. So now I am under suspicion, for their incompetency. If that was not enough, when I submitted the Physical exam papers, again, I was informed by the USCG, that there were "irregularitys" there, too. So now I can't get a USCG Medical Certificate, which is required to sail--I'm out of work, because of their "irregularities". Also, they charged me almost double what I would have payed, had I just gone to Concentra. Well, so much for going back to work!

I am writing to formally report a deeply concerning experience I had with True Compassion Urgent…read moreCare in Palm Beach Gardens. At the time of my visit, I was informed by the receptionist that my total charge would be $283. When I asked about my insurance coverage, she stated that after the first of the year, the first bill must be paid in full by the patient. Based on this representation, I paid the $283. This explanation did not sit well with me. Approximately four weeks later, I contacted Humana directly to verify my responsibility for the visit. I was informed that, under my policy, I was only responsible for a $50 copayment. I explained to Humana what had occurred at True Compassion Urgent Care, and a conference call was arranged with their billing department. During the call, Rafael from Billing stated that Humana had never paid the claim and that he was therefore retaining my payment. However, Humana advised him during that same call that payment had in fact been issued three weeks prior. This situation raises serious concerns, as it appears I was charged the full amount despite the insurance payment having already been processed. Had I not contacted Humana to question the charge, I believe this overpayment would not have been brought to my attention. Additionally, Rafael was extremely rude during the conference call with both Humana and myself and ultimately disconnected the call. The following day, I contacted the city to report what I believe to be improper billing practices. I also called True Compassion Urgent Care and left a message for the medical assistant requesting a return call, but my message was not returned. After I informed the receptionist that I intended to report the matter and that I believed the billing practices were improper, Rafael contacted me shortly thereafter and offered to return my money. Had I not independently pursued clarification with my insurance company, True Compassion Urgent Care would have retained $283, when my actual responsibility was only $50 -- resulting in a $233 overpayment on my part.

I didn't want to drive die to the injury. During the drive, I virtually checked in. It took about 5 minutes. Doing so, I did not have to fill out any paperwork there. Everything was electronically submitted including insurance cards and virtual signatures of all of the forms. I thought all of the staff were very kind, friendly and competent. They did what had to be done for my injury , and I was on my way. I was shocked to see how many people have a negative view of this practice. This is my third time here, and I have never had any issue and have received excellent care. Some complain about a wait, but that's to be expected if there are people ahead of you and you want quality care. I was seen timely based on the number of people ahead of me every time. Ultimately, I have had several positive interactions here and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thats my 2¢, , for those that remember that rating system!

Doctor comes in, also did not listen to my concerns, looked in my child's ears and said 'it's viral, I'm not giving antibiotics'. I had to ask the doctor to look in his mouth and listen to his chest. He didn't even ask me to turn my child around so he could see him from the front. Ultimately I got no answers or even a full physical exam on a very sick two year old. Would not recommend this facility to anyone.
