Funny how people are nice when you call but when you come into your store , you're not acknowledged or asked if you need help. Only the more attractive customers who came in after me were welcomed and asked if they needed help. For every bad review I've seen on this, there are plenty of honest reviews. I've noticed with all the bad reviews the person fits the attitude. I was in there when someone I'd say was a (Karen) wasn't getting helped as soon as she stepped in, on top of that she was extremely rude. Mind you everyone can be turned away. Or go somewhere else. So the store is clean and the people are friendly, however I went in for a quick fix on not dying my hair so fast after a bleach bath. Got a wig, I went for MLF419HAZEL in a HL613/627 By Boss Lace. 100% not worth the $70 although I went in on a discount day and got it for $64. It's too plastic, can't do anything with it, way too shiny even after the first soak and some products. Comes with "baby hair" an it's "pre plucked" the only thing on this that was pre anything was its premature departure from manufacturers. It comes with curls that look like they have been gelled in, very obnoxious and honestly really gross looking. I went in an steam styled it straight with some big wave curls. Cut my own baby hairs and got them flat. Problem... again it's like very plastic so you can use any mega hold, wig glue, got2bglue NOTHING will keep it in place. I could try a real adhesive and I bet it would yield the same results. Save and spend the money on Human Hair, cause their synthetic wigs are crap. It's like wish style. I'm not aliexpressing up in here. I don't need the crap quality. Went to my fathers hair dresser to try to install it and she even said that it was crap even for a little Asian girl like myself. Throw it out and cut your losses. Don't purchase their boss lace wigs they are crap! Idk about the rest of the lace synthetics but I'd just splurge and get the human hair. read more

I visited the store last Friday. I was highly disappointed that they had a new policy requiring you to leave your purse at the counter with the clerks. Or you can take it into your vehicle and chance that your vehicle is broken into while you're in the store. Unfortunately, I was in need of supplies for an appointment that was coming up just one hour away. So I proceeded to put my purse in my vehicle. When I came back into the store, I noticed that there was a Caucasian woman in there with a purse the very same size as mine. I ask them Why would she not have to her purse in the car or have them watch her purse? I was told that her purse was too small. Her purse was the same size as mine. I'm so disappointed in United Beauty, for racially profiling their customers. I will never be back to the store. I will not tolerate being treated like a the if by United beauty. I will not spend my hard-earned dollars at places that treat people like this. Also, I would like to add that I sat in my vehicle for 15 minutes and watched as several more Caucasian women went into the store and were able to carry their purses around freely in the store, while every African-American woman that I saw enter the store had to place their purse to the side--shame on youUnited beauty. I went into this location for the first time. I always go to the one on 7th st bit was closer to this one and stopped by for new clip-in extensions. I was greeted when I came in and asked if I needed help. The girl that helped me was really nice but didn't not much about the clip in's. I told her the brands I normally use and we went to look at them. It was hard to see the colors because of the glare on the plastic so she would pull the ones I would ask for but they were clearly not a match. The ones she was pulling were easy to bring up to my hair to check the matching of the color. Keep in mind these extensions are usually between $250-$350. I asked for pricing and she didn't know. She didn't really know much information about any of the extensions. She asked who I assume was the manager for help and she came over seemingly annoyed. She was dismissive of her questions and told her if she wanted to the price to check and the register. She then left her after it was obvious she needed help to help me. I asked the for other ones from a different brand and those were inside a plastic. I pulled them out to check if they matched my hair when the same manager quickly came over and threw a fit because I took them out of the plastic. She was super upset. I told her I can't tell if they're a match if I can't bring them closer to my hair and inside the plastic. She said that's the way it is and that I can feel and look at the color by feeling and looking at the half inch piece that was exposed outside the plastic. She then grabbed the extensions and proceeded to make comments under her breath about her struggling to get them back in the plastic and that that is why they shouldn't be removed. I did apologize and told her I had never had an issue with that. Again, she never offered any help and stomped off after putting the extensions back. At this point I was uncomfortable and the girl was uncomfortable so I just left. Needless to say I will never go back and will stick to the 7th street location. As that stores actually helps, suggests different ones, and know their stuff. read more

I went in to this store to purchase a wig. I found one that I liked and went to the front of the store to check out. When I attempted to pay for the wig the cashier told me a price that was 20 dollars more than the listed price. I told her that the price was wrong so she went and got the manager, Katherine, who I thought was going to honor the listed price but she told me she would give me a discount. I waited for the total to be something comparable to the listed price but it was 3 dollars cheaper than the original price. She rudely told me to go and look for something else but why would I waste my time looking through a store that cannot properly price its merchandise or honor posted prices. I will just shop online, better prices, no rude management, and good honor system. Update: Stopped in yesterday, needed a wig on short notice and didn't feel like driving to the other side of town. Went here with my mom today who is undergoing chemotherapy & experiencing hair loss. We came to this location to find my mom's first ever wig. The store is spacious & tidy. We were able to find an affordable but very stylish wig. Nesha helped us & after we explained it's our first time looking at wigs. Nesha was very nice & even complimented my mom's choice which made her day. Checkout was quick & Nesha even suggested we come back for human hair wigs when my mom gets the hang of this first wig. BUYER BEWARE .... For over three years, I've been a satisfied customer of United Beauty Supply on 6020 W. Bell Rd. Glendale, AZ, purchasing at least a dozen wings and various products. I've always found their products good quality, and the sales representatives courteous and knowledgeable; that is until recently. I purchased a MJ1402 human hair unit on 12-27-21, to replace my older MH1402 unit. I planned on wearing it to a special event the evening of Tuesday 1-4-22, so it stayed unopened. Upon removal of the unit Tuesday afternoon, I noticed right away the hair was frizzy and in disarray unlike my past purchases. With a few strokes of my wire tooth wig brush the unit was no better. The messy unit never touched my head. I repacked it to return for replacement. The next morning I presented the wig to the sales woman who sold it to me and another sales woman. They observed the unit was in disarray however they told me I needed to rehabilitate it (use product) to make it look nice again. They wouldn't believe this unit was never worn. In essence they were calling me a liar insinuating that it was a mess due to my use; that's how bad it was. I understand they are just employees and have no control of quality assurance. I doubt the United Beauty Supply Corporation would give the time of day to any complaint I would file with them considering their no return policy. Thus... BUYER BEWARE! Examine units carefully before purchasing and leaving the store. In my case, I agreed it was the right model and color when presented in the box however, you can't examine the quality of the unit without taking the packaging hairnet off. Next time I will video the removal of the wig from the packaging just in case I get another defective unit. read more

I have been going to United beauty for years and always take my daughter with me. She's 7 and wanted pink hair so I took her to pick some up. She picked up a 50 cent comb and the lady behind the counter said I have to pay for it because she put it by her hair. We went over to look at my hair which is MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE and I needed to match it of course. I said never mind because I would need to touch it and put it by my hair.. she said that was fine I could do that... ummm what?! So my child couldn't touch a 50 cent plastic comb without paying but I can put $100s of dollars worth of hair up to mine.. damn United beauty needs to hire new staff cause I know I won't be going there again and won't be buying anything for my clients from here again. I am a licensed Cosmetologist and I came here tonight to buy a blow dryer. This was a bad decision! I bought the Ceramix Xtreme Babyliss Pro blow dryer. I just got home and I opened the box to check out my cool new blow dryer and it's definitely not new! It's all scratched up with I don't know what all over it and there's paint missing on the blue button. Whatever the yucky stuff is, is also all over the cord. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED. I am only giving this place 2 stars because there is only one employee that is a professional and she is the ONLY reason why I go there, other than that this place feels like the scene on Menace II Society when the Asian woman follows the guy throughout the store. 07/06/13 at 0930 I went there to buy some hair extensions. The owner was also coming in the shop. I greeted her and she rolled her eyes at me . ( strike 1!) As soon as I went to the back to grab the hair I wanted this young brunette w/ glasses asked me if I needed anything. I told her I was deciding on what color extensions I wanted. And when I tell you she was hovering over me, she was so close that I could smell her breath. Then while I'm going to the next aisle to find a shampoo....she's literally FOLLOWING ME! ( strike 2) 07/08/13 1600 hours I realized I needed 1 more pack of extensions. Just go in , buy, & leave! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a distant voice. As soon as I walk to the back I hear foot steps moving fast in the other aisle . TA-DAA! The brunette is there FOLLOWING ME as usual. Its really pathetic because she followed me the whole time.
