Your United Pass is no good here...
    Steve G.

Extremely rare for me to give one star to any place, but I'm tired with United's frequent games at their clubs. Not sure why more often than not they restrict the use of the United Club Passes they offer as a benefit of having (and paying for) their credit card. So, in effect, cardholders are paying for these passes. However, if you have a pass you are treated as a paria. They throw the sign out front saying you can't come in. When I traveled a lot I had a full membership, but now it's not worth it. The 2 passes per year I receive from my UA Credit card are basically useless. So, I'm canceling my UA Credit Card out of principle. My AA Citibank, DL Amex and others are sufficient. If you can't stand behind your benefits, don't offer them.

Staff were scrambling to keep up with passengers delayed because Newark tower was short staffed during the Government shutdown. They did a tremendous job. Quinona salad was delicious! Ambience was comfortable compared to the terminal outside the island of luxury

Meh. This is by far the smallest united club I've ever been in. Not a whole lot of space. The chairs are crammed in there. The buffet spread was limited. The bar in the back is tiny. I would be mad if I actually paid for a pass. But it is what it is. At least I can sit for a minute and enjoy a glass of wine while I wait for my next flight.

For $49 if you're trying to pay for the one time pass or if you just have the credit card, this lounge is totally worth the stop. It can get packed and there can be no seating sometimes but this is Terminal C after all... Still, you get a variety of food options/snackies for breakfast, lunch and dinner times. Plus, all you can drink. Never had an issue with that! Bar service is always nice and they never rush. Last bartender I had just knew to keep them coming for us which earned him an extra tip! Love stopping here before my flights.

During my recent quick visit due to a flight change, the woman at the front desk was decidedly unhelpful and made it clear she was ready to leave work because the lounge was closing in 15 minutes. All I needed was a new boarding pass after a flight change, but was forced to debate the woman for several minutes in order to get one.

Tried going to two different United Club lounges at IAH and all of them had signs saying they weren't accepting one-time passes. No warning anywhere, just wasted time walking between lounges. To make it worse, one employee was rude and basically said, "Can't you see the sign?" Not the premium experience United advertises. Disappointing overall. I submitted a complaint to United about the rude employee and I am still waiting for a responce.

One of the smaller lounges in Terminal C. It gets crowded. Lots of nibbles like soup and sandwiches, cookies, drinks and a full bar. Friendly staff. Always a plus if you have time to stop in between flights!

I do not recommend the lounge located in Terminal C. It is too crowded and small. Visited during lunch time on Nov 6 as it was so close to the departing gate and there was ample time to enjoy the lounge. Super-packed. Food and drinks were fine and they replenish the buffet regularly. That was a plus. This must be one of their smaller lounges. In addition to the public spaces, there are pockets of spaces here and there where you can relax if you need a different pace or privacy but some have real cold air conditioning. In addition, some cubicles were not as clean. I have had a better experience in their bigger lounge but don't remember the Terminal. Just maybe, the shutdown was encouraging people to sign up for United Credit Card for the TSA precheck. Just one theory why the lounge could be almost full house. Packed like sardines!

Hanging out at the United Club @IAH. Nice lunch options for food, tuna salad. Cheese board, Tortilla Soup, Pimento Cheese Wheel, Italian Pork Meatballs with Pasta Penne. All very fresh, Multiple servers all around keeping it nice and clean. Open Bar with a decent liquor menu that is included. Great place to hang, especially if your flight is delayed.

Great view of the planes from the club.

The reception at the United Club in IAH was so warm and cordial. The staff genuinely smile and make you feel welcome. The food also seems to have improved, and I love being able to see the planes from the large windows. It's a great view that really adds to the experience. However, the condition of the bathrooms is absolutely shocking. Please pardon the details, but the men's restroom had puddles of urine all over the floor; it was so bad that I wouldn't recommend rolling your carry-on in there. The overall uncleanliness was appalling, with dried urine on the floors and boxes of cloth napkins randomly left by the sinks. Honestly, I've seen cleaner bathrooms in much less-developed airports around the world. Considering that people are paying $750 a year for access (or even just visiting on international first class / business itineraries like I was), this level of cleanliness is unacceptable. I can forgive the overcrowding as that's to be expected these days. I don't expect gourmet food either. But at the very least, club guests deserve clean, maintained restrooms. As a frequent flier, I really want to love this club, but the condition of the bathrooms makes it very hard to. Truly disappointing

4.5 stars Wow, so this is how the rest of the world lives... When I got a United Explorer credit card, they sent me two vouchers to the United Club, so this seemed like a perfect opportunity. Wish we could've come for breakfast and enjoyed that selection, but we had jelly beans, free mimosas, comfy chairs, turkey sandwiches, birria nachos, dried fruit, crackers, cheese, loaded baked potato soup, bread pudding, fruit, coffee. There was a robot that was "helping" to bus tables. A good way to kill some time. Got very busy after about 1230 pm. 2023 #79

During busy hours the wait can be up to 10 minutes. I recommend just leaving the lounge to use the bathroom. ~2pm: Waited for two hours to get in. The attendant at the front kept giving different times, citing the boarding of the KLM flight. This was incredibly frustrating and not even worth it, because there was no hot food and the space was mediocre. There was a quinoa salad, turkey&cheese sandwiches, cold bread rolls (with fancy butter though!), bananas, and chips. ~6am: Got in immediately and was pretty happy with the breakfast selection. There was warm toast, guacamole, sliced boiled eggs, pancakes, and an oatmeal bar. The lounge was pretty busy though, so I had to wait a while to use the bathroom. I actually slept in the lounge for an hour and it wasn't the worst. Overall, I'd recommend coming only during a time when they accept priority pass. If they say "come back later", just find another place to go to. It's not worth waiting around for.

I stopped by both KLM and Air France and the food was identical - same pasta salad, leafy salad, two sandwiches, plastic-wrapped chocolate chip cookie... The lounge prioritizes their own airline customers and offer better hot food options for their own. If you happen to get there when they're about to reopen for Priority Pass, wait in line - it get long quick! I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if I happened to be at the airport early and had some time to kill, it was maybe $15-20 saved in free basic food and straightforward to get to especially with the post-security air tram.

I even lost my Yelp elite status for 2026, but that won't keep me from sharing, just makes me sad. I'm hoping for a better year in 2026...so here is my first review for the year! I am trying to put 2025 behind me and I am starting off the year with a trip. To my surprise we were blessed with an upgrade of which I am forever grateful and we got access to the Polaris Lounge. What a wonderful place to kick back and relax before a long flight! I've only been in the regular United Club up to now, and I have always been curious. They are similar, but a lot less crowded. There is plenty of cozy seating with different options from tables to lounge chairs. There is a buffet like the regular United Club, with snacks and drinks. Plus, there is a bar. In addition to the items like the regular Club, there is a sit down restaurant inside as well where you can order off a special menu if you don't want to go to the buffet (no worries, no extra cost). Moreover, just about all the seating areas have a charging station (of course, if you sit at a regular table there isn't any). The staff is super friendly from the time you check in to the time you leave. They make you feel seen and special. If you have access, I highly recommend to take advantage and relax...even for a few minutes. Thank you United for helping me to hopefully have a better year ahead.

Turned out to be a great decision. The Polaris Lounge was clean, well appointed and quieter. But, the best part was the service. Stephanie welcomed us and when I asked for some guidance, kindly explained how everything worked, where the food was, bathrooms, etc. She arranged for wheelchair service to pick us up and we found a spot to sit and relax. Unfortunately, the seats, while mid century modern beautiful were med century modern incredibly low. We did find some chairs at a table that were more comfortable Thomas helped us clean up a small mess, very graciously and professionally. He also provided additional friendly guidance but in a very helpful way. Eating was a bit of the a challenge but thankfully, every dish was labeled for potentially problematic ingredients! Awesome! All the entrees contained dairy. So, I got some salami, cranberries, sunflower seeds and roasted beans. It went well with my lame stomach and I enjoyed several servings during our multi hour wait. Jason, the chef, came out and served vegan beans and carnitas along with various fixings. He was very helpful working around dietary restrictions and friendly also. Coffee was Italian Lilly brand which makes very nice espresso. I wouldn't say we are experts but this was a very nice lounge experience! Thanks United Polaris! Life is good with a comfortable layover.

After that, our oldest politely asked if he could also have a bag of popcorn. The volunteer responded firmly, "That's enough. You guys had too much already." I was honestly surprised by the tone and response, especially since they had only taken two items each. I asked if we could simply pay for the popcorn, but she said payment wasn't the issue -- they just didn't have enough food. What confused me was that there were no posted signs explaining item limits or any guidance about restrictions. Clear communication upfront would have prevented the misunderstanding. We also asked if we could use the microwave and were told no again, which added to the frustration. We donated $25 during our visit, and when I mentioned it, we were told that donation funds cannot be used to purchase additional food. That was surprising to hear. When the shift changed, the new volunteers were very polite and welcoming. However, by that point we felt uncomfortable and chose to leave without escalating the situation. We truly appreciate what the USO does for service members and families, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. We hope this feedback helps improve communication and consistency for future visitors.
