Had a great breakfast 024 grill. The restaurant is located within the Westin hotel. I ordered the lux egg white omelet with shrimp and crab. This omelet was so large that three people could have eaten it and gotten full. It came with hash browns and multi-grain toast. They also had an aesthetically pleasing Greek yogurt. The decaf latte was hot with robust flavoring. I was eating at 7 am so very few customers present....4 tables including mine. Now that my tummy is full I'm heading back to Austin. read more

I actually checked into the Westin, which the 024 is inside of, instead of going right to bed, which I should have,I decided to look at the menu because as everyone knows.... I love food! While perusing the oh so delicious choices I came across the *Cue heavenly music..... Limoncello raspberry cake..... so here I sit with a completely empty plate that would, in complete honesty, would be licked clean if I were not in public.... still not out of the question. The cake was so light, fluffy and had the perfect balance of all flavors so that one did not over power. And made every single bite from the first to last an absolute eye crossing delight! If you're ever in the area, even if you're not, it's definitely worth the trip for a taste of this lemon heaven. And a bargain at only a $8 per slice. read more

The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm and relaxing and the decor is a nice touch. We visited for lunch and our waitstaff was very kind and considerate. I had the three egg omelet, toast, and grits as well as a glass of Prosecco. They had a large selections of hot sauces to choose from. We were told that valet was free since we ate at the restaurant but it ended up being $4. No biggie but kind of annoying. read more

Popped in tonight to see my Lakers get swept and even though I caught the kitchen near end of service I was able to get a pepperoni flatbread pizza and it was definitely worth it! The Chef Sebastian personally brought it out piping hot and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is truly underrated as I've eaten here before but didn't review last time so I made sure to give the nod this time. This is a three part review Part 1 Dinner: We came in for dinner after a full day of travel and we were exhausted. Service was a little slow so I'd really only give 3 stars for this dinner experience. There wasn't anyone in the restaurant besides us so no reason for it to be slow service. The food was great - buffalo chicken flatbread was delicious! The cocktails were made perfectly as well. Part 2 Breakfast: I would give this experience a 5 stars! We were having breakfast so that my mom could meet her baby brother for the first time in 60 years (we flew in from California). The wait staff knew what was going on, as we imagined we would be there awhile we wanted them to know what was going on. They were so patient, so accommodating and the manager even bought us a round of mimosas when he heard why we were there. It was great service! I couldn't have asked for a better place... they didn't rush us out, they kept checking on us, it was an overall great experience. Side note - the pancakes in the buffet were cold which was a huge bummer and everything else was just warm. Next time I would probably order off the menu. Part 3 Lounge: We went to the lounge after a long day at a conference. They had 1 bartender taking care of the bar and the tables. It was about 8:30pm on a Tuesday. It took her forever to take our order. She was not very attentive at all. We would have probably ordered more drinks had she come back sooner to check on us. Maybe sitting at the bar is the better choice if you're going to come here for a drink. I'm giving them 4 stars for the combined 3 stars dinner, 2 stars lounge and 5 star breakfast. First , service was terrible! Back in April my brother and I went to 024 grille when we had a family member in the hospital next door at memorial city memorial Hermann . We split the cheese burger and each had a bowl of shiner bock French onion soup. It was the best soup either of us had ever had for french onion. Today, again I have a family member in the hospital, and took my daughter for lunch there , telling her how great the soup was. Well, we got there, we were seated. There was one other person there eating at 11:45. It took forever for the waitress to come to our table. We ordered a beer on tap and we're told the bar didn't open until2pm. Ok, we ordered iced tea. We ordered French onion soup and a cesear salad, it took over an hour, at lunch, one other person in the grille. The soup was the worst French onion soup I have ever had....over seasoned , salty beef broth, with a hodgepodge of red onion(crunchy), cooked yellow onion, nothing else in it. On the side they served white sandwich bread toasted with a sliced of deli cheese . Worst thing I've ever purchased for 15-18$ I can't remember. It's 6 pm and I am still angry at my over 68$ meal! 2 Cesear salads, 2 french onion soups and 2 iced teas, what a disappointment! read more

It was a nice touch, but then again it was Christmas and the restaurant was pretty empty. Our waitress didnt speak too much English and didnt seem to know the menu that well. It was rather awkward. For the appetizers, we ordered the crispy calamari and grilled jumbo shrimp. The calamari was okay. I did like the flavors of the grilled jumbo shrimp. With our group of 12, we practically ordered all the entrees - the salmon, the crab cakes, the chicken, pizza....I dont recall the rest. Most entrees were pretty good, but nothing really stood out. Would I come back? Probably not. There's nothing really exciting about this restaurant compared to others in the Houston area. read more

I didn't notice the lipstick on one right away. *GAG* and there was a plastic sticker on the food of my chop, which is not a flavor enhancer it is a poorly trained cook mistake. 024 it's not only their name it's how much they had to your bill for a tip without telling you 24% was how much was added to bill for brunch for a party of four and I was not told in advance and even called prior to making the reservation asking about their brunch. Our brunch ended up being a $100 a person and it was barely a $50 a person brunch. Food was average at best everything was bland and needed a healthy dose of salt and pepper. The prime rib was 85% fat. The best thing they served was remoulade. Our serving only had the ability to bring one drink at a time or lacked the ability to remember three drinks because each time she brought us a drink we would have to inquire about the remaining drinks. read more

I used a gift card and my Amex to cover the remaining balance. 3 days later I got a fraudulent charge for $110 on my Amex card. I thought it was more like Valones or one of the other restaurants that have recently been built in that new complex by Memorial City hospital Arriving after our friends had it wasn't difficult to spot them as the restaurant was almost completely empty That did ring warning bells as what Houston restaurant is empty on a Friday night? Eggs Benedict were prepared to perfection, and very fast. It's a hotel restaurant but something's different here. The breakfast menu is ample and slightly adventurous, but it's not crazy expensive. They do offer a breakfast buffet, but I chose one of their several Eggs Benedict dishes off the menu (with applewood smoked bacon, as I recall), and was thoroughly pleased. The eggs were poached to my exacting standards, served on sauteed spinach, the bacon, and finally the English muffins. The Hollandaise surely seemed the real deal. Efficient service, frequent coffee refills, copies of the Wall Street Journal on hand. An excellent breakfast experience for a veteran business traveler. read more

I went in for lunch on a Friday with a group of coworkers. We made reservations and they gave us a private room. We ordered the crunchy calamari to share and devoured it! I ordered the crab cakes and couldn't have been more impressed. The portion sized looked very small when it came out, but was very filling! We also order the cheese cake and sticky toffee dessert to share. Both were very good. Service was amazing. My ice tea was never empty. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Prices are a little high on the lunch menu, but that's the only reason for 4 stars, not 5. Self-parking and valet are complementary if you dine in the restaurant. read more

Summary: HRW get the crab cakes, cream brûlée is good but missing the lavender?, sorbet palate cleanser is yummy, Steak was good but make sure to get the sauce, toffee pudding is sweeeeeet. Calamari is good but Perry's down the street is better. great curtious friendly service. Ambiance is sophisticated with room for groups, and spacious seating. Garage parking is validated, but if machine doesn't work look to spend $6 to park. My boyfriend and I came here for HRW we had the calamari, crab cakes, 10 oz Ny strip, toffee pudding and creme brûlée. Our appetizers were delicious and I was excited for the rest of the meal! The crab cakes came three in an order, crusted perfectly top and bottom, with a rich fresh flakey crab center. The accompanying orange sweet and spicy chilli sauce was delicious as was the sautéed spinach it was served on. The calamari was a bit different, it looked like sticks of tempura but it had a crispy breading (not panko). The calamari had a good texture not too chewy or soft and was good with the sweet peppers and romesco sauce. We were served 2 scoops of a passion fruit sorbet as a palet cleanser. I was going to town with it while sipping my wine. The steaks were cooked nicely to a medium rare. I am not sure if our sauces were held or already on the plate though our steaks came with out the stated bearnaise sauce. Either way the steak was good with a light crust and grill marks.The large spiral noodle Mac and cheese had lil chunks of cheese on top. As with all Mac and cheese, I think bacon would totally make this dish even more superb of a side, at least for me. The desserts were good though the Texas sticky toffee pudding was really sweet. The caramel sauce tasted light and fresh but sweet, and I love sweets! The ice cream was a perfect home style. The cake part was moist but a bit dense with sauce. The cream brûlée had a perfectly sugared top and the Madeline cookies were soft and fluffy. The cream brûlée as a cream brûlée was delicious, but a bit of a disappointment I did not taste or smell any Hint of lavender in it. Our service was wonderful, we made reservations for 6:30 and there were just a hand full of other tables. Water was always refilled, checked on by various help, received complimentary candy bar chef had been making for the night. The over all layout of the place would be good for groups. The tables are not crowded together, there are 4-5 side rooms that can be closed off from the main seating area, many equipped with a television. I suppose for a business lunch? Last note, we parked in the garage and received a validation, but for some reason the machine kept reading it as invalid so we had to pay $6.00 for parking.... Had I known that was going to happen I wish we had just valeted. read more

I've been to the restaurant twice now with my husband. I've had the rib eye steak, the mushroom risotto, truffle mac and cheese, grilled asparagus, and creme brulee. I feel like the whole menu SOUNDS delicious, but then the execution is not up to par. For example, the rib eye we asked for medium rare and it came medium. But I guess that is forgivable, but then the quality of the steak was very poor (we're like professional steak eaters now). I liked the mushroom risotto; although, the chef prepares the risotto on the al dente side. However, the flavor was good and the portion big. The truffle mac and cheese was not very good. The grilled asparagus was delicious, but really, who can mess that up. My husband's favorite dessert is creme brulee. He was very excited when it came out cuz it looked beautiful, but after breaking the sugar on top, the cream looked like soup. Literally, it was soup. Not very tasty. On the side were two madeleine cookies that were VERY dry. All in all, I think the execution needs to step up. In Houston, there are too many good restaurants. Next time, we'll pass this one up. read more

Went here last night with a group of friends for restaurant week. Started out with the calamari. Probably worst calamari I've ever eaten. It was sticky and shaped like a fish stick. My girlfriend, had the crab cakes, which were tasty. One of our friends had The gulf shrimp which was good too. Do not get the calamari! Main course, I had the 10oz ny strip which was far better than the one I had amerigos last week. The gf had some crusted tuna, which was good. Desert came and I had the sticky toffee something which was nice! Do not get the lavender infused creme brûlée, it tasty like soap! The service was good but the waiter knew nothing about the wines, neither did I, but we had some high class people eating with us. They were wanting this and type wine. Very demanding people! A few friends and I went to HRW for lunch this past weekend. I was pretty amazed at how much food was in each serving! Usually, the portions are mid-sized at best at other restaurants, but for the first time during HRW, I asked for a take-away box! I enjoyed my delicious flat bread pizza for dinner as well. We came in for a big family breakfast and the manager caught wind of the fact that all of us family were just meeting for the first time ever, in the restaurant. He brought a round of mimosas for all of us and came to chat and tell us how wonderful he thought it was that we were there. The menu is realllllly overpriced. Like frustratingly overpriced. But the food is good. I had the walnut and carrot soup for dinner one night and then the buffet for breakfast the next morning. We also had cocktails which were worth the money given the alcohol in them! It's very convenient to be inside of the Westin. We had 13 for a family dinner. We were in a private dining room. The service was top notch as was the food. I took the waiter's lead and ordered the 8 Oz Baseball Cut Top Sirloin. I think it was really a filet - set on a bed of carmelized onions.. IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! I ordered it medium rare - it was so tender and tasty. Others ordered the Grilled Gulf Jumbo Shrimp off the appetizer menu and they were big and succulent - a complete meal. The entrees came with a small salad and sides are ordered separately, We ordered Grilled Asparagus, Yukon Gold Mascarpone Mashed Potato and House Cut French Fries with Cracked pepper and sea salt. Stayed here as a hotel guest and decided to stop in for a week night meal - why not? Thankfully, my curiosity was well rewarded. The hostess and waitress were both very attentive. The restaurant staff appeared to be well organized through the glass of the open kitchen. Granted, it was not overwhelmingly busy that night. I ordered the $14 seared scallops as an appetizer, which were masterfully cooked and accompanied with sliced fresh mozzarella. The scallops were tender and had good texture, albeit a bit smaller than I'm used to. The portion was definitely enough to be shared by two, nonetheless. My main entree was the $27 pork chop, seated on mashed potatoes and side of brussel sprouts. I asked for it to be cooked medium. It came juicy around the edges and bone but tough in the center. This place could have easily been 5 stars if the chop was thicker (only ~1 in) and cooked tender. Still good eats though. The small chop left me room for dessert, which did not disappoint. The $8 Texas sticky toffee dessert came less than a minute after I had ordered it. The waitress claimed the kitchen had it ready but I suspect it may have been a result of another table's order cancellation. Regardless, it disappeared into my stomach just as fast as it came. At the end of it all, they honored the 20% off food offer from a yelp check-in. Not sure how long the promotion will last, but it makes the food a spectacular deal. I had a great experience here last night. I went to try the pink drink menu and I ended up trying the crab cakes and tuna and the crab cakes are amazing!! They are the perfect amount of crunchy and all crab inside. The outside has a delicious sweet and sour sauce on top which I ordered a side of because it was so good. Service was fantastic as well. Would not recommend. Went for Thanksgiving brunch/buffet for party of 3. Our server charged service charge for 20% tip. She said it was mandatory. I have never went to a brunch/buffet where they charge a mandatory tip for a party of 3. This policy is messed up as this was a brunch/buffet. I ordered the chicken breast plate which is very tasty. The fresh bread served prior to the entree was DELICIOUS and addicting. I wish they served it with fresh flavored butter or olive oil.
