    Seated Breakfast - Oct2025

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The Houston Polaris lounge is significantly smaller than SF but I think more calm/relaxing than SFO.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of service members at the lounge, so it always seems clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food during breakfast and dinner on my visits were very good! .. in both the seated restaurant and buffet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I used the showers this trip and while the space isn't large, they had a lot of amenites including soft towels and fuzzy slippers so it felt like a spa experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I wish they provided a facial travel set as well as part of items that can be requested but they had hair tools, mini-deodorants and dental kits.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Flying Polaris on a Saturday with enough time on my hands to visit the Polaris lounge. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Compared to weekday flights, it is really empty. The bar is mostly open, the dining (menu) restaurant has space and the seats are mostly empty[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Today feels both peaceful and relaxing compare to other Polaris lounges that I've recently visited my.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I only wish I was hungry. If you're flying business - this lounge is definitely worth a stop.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The top of the line United lounge. The United Polaris Lounge is available when you're traveling on a long-haul international flight in United Polaris business class.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nicer and more contemporary than United's regular lounges, Polaris is a step above.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] With better food and drinks, the lounge shines. There's also a dining room where you can have a meal pre-board and different from the a la carte buffet options. Service meets the standard and most locations offer spacious shower suites and quiet rooms with daybeds. If you get the chance, enjoy.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Polaris lounge is a legitimate international lounge provided for passengers to increase comfort for long journeys.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Houston Polaris Lounge is the nicest domestic lounge I have visited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good restaurant, good food, good service, and comfortable surroundings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Most international airlines offer this service which includes showers, more comfortable seating, decent restaurant, and upgraded service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This club is right up there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The issue is Polaris is like 10x better than the standard United Domestic Club, which are generally so bad I have generally stopped going.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was the first person in the door when the Polaris lounge opened at 5:30AM. Staff were welcoming that AM while I scanned my boarding pass to confirm entry. You can access the Polaris lounge prior to or while in transit to/from your destination when flying United Polaris on any international leg. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I took the elevator up to the 2nd floor and had my choice of spots as this location was quite roomy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Furniture were in good order and all the electrical and USB sockets worked at my seat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I took advantage of the showers given my overnight flight from BA. Shower facilities were quite nice with room to open up my suitcase and enough counter space. A basket included a full set of towels, slippers, deodorant and a shower cap[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The breakfast buffet was acceptable with the typical hot breakfast items, fresh fruits (especially blueberries), baked good and oatmeal/cereals, The sit-down portion of the lounge didn't open until 7:30am and I didn't want to eat and run. Staff came by frequently to clear dishes.

Not all Polaris club are the same. The menu does vary a bit and the quality of food depends on the cooks. Even the quality of drinks can vary. We found the drinks to be much better in Houston than LAX. As for hamburgers, the hamburger was much better at LAX. Plus the quality was better. The service at the Polaris in Houston was better than LAX too. I guess one's experience all depends on server and chef. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As for comfort, this doesn't vary much, expect for size.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Houston club provides a variety of seating that includes tables and comfy chairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The area is broken up some to provide a sense of space and to dampen noise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Located in terminal E, between the United club location and gate E12; the Houston United Polaris lounge is a fantastic place to spend your time while waiting for your next flight.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything is located on the second floor; individual booth/work stations; showers and quiet rooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have a restaurant where you can order off the menu, buffet station and a bar. Everything is complimentary so you just leave a nice tip. Always tip!!! The service is always impeccable. I lost my passport there once and missed my connecting flight. Shanon which works at the front desk was so helpful. I travel a lot for work and I always see her working at the Polaris lounge or United clubs. She's always so welcoming and friendly.

I mean, if you have not been in this lounge, you are certainly missing out. We had about an hour before our flight, so we decided to go to Polaris lounge to relax and get some food. We sat in their restaurant area, and there was no weight to get a table. We decided to get their burger, because everyone around us got it and it looks delicious. The burger was OK. Nothing special BUT the scallops however, were absolutely delicious. They were cooked to perfection, had so much flavor. The only thing I wish is they had more of it lol. For dessert we got a cookie with some ice cream. It was so yummy. The drinks were delicious, they actually makes them very good espresso martinis. Service was great and we really enjoyed our time there.

This is our second time at the United Polaris Lounge and it's still just as great as the last time we visited 5 years ago. The decor is modern and chic, and the assortment of different seating configurations can cater to virtually any type of traveler. The layout of the lounge is partitioned off into different segments. No matter where you are seated in the lounge, you are always near electrical and USB outlets, so charging is no issue here. Depending on where you are in the lounge, you have views of the tarmac as well as an interior view of the Terminal E. The music played is a nice mix of easy-going adult contemporary and was pretty pleasant. Hey, who doesn't appreciate a little Jefferson Starship from time to time :-) The food here is pretty stellar as far as airline lounge food is concerned. There is a large buffet style area with soups, breads and snacks. For people looking for more filling options, there is a dining room area where you will be seated and the food is cooked to order. This last time, the food was just as great as the first. I had a delicious Poblano Asiago Spinach Soup, and it was first-rate. I really liked that there were plenty of healthy options available. The restrooms are clean and best of all- they are gender-neutral individual restrooms, so you get complete privacy. It's nice to have that sense of tranquility when traveling and can be in a space with total silence. Overall the United Polaris Lounge is one of the best. The employees here are also on top of their game. The tables get bussed quickly and the cleanliness level is very high. Well done UPL-IAH, looking forward to visiting again!

Great club for Polaris, comfortable seating, meal buffet, dining available, unlimited beverages. Their Moscow Mule was quite good and they have Illy coffee. Service is great. My only concern is amount of seating, there was limited seating and several people just had to stand. Hopefully they will consider to expand the size, as this is probably their big hub for United. Highly recommended!

The United Airlines Polaris lounge is a special place because you can only get in if you're flying Polaris business class... which pretty much limits you to international flights. The Polaris lounges are a step up from regular United Clubs because they have showers, seated restaurants and better food options. I've been to the SFO Polaris lounge a few times, but I think I like the IAH lounge more. First, the Polaris lounge at IaH is located right next to the regular United Club. It's not a far walk from where you go through customs if you are arriving from a foreign country. Second, it's not as big as SFo's lounge. I don't feel like I had to fight for a seat or walk a mile to get to the showers, food, etc. Third, the restaurant staff at IAH is really good. I feel like at SFO, some of them are kind of clueless and maybe aren't trained waitstaff. In fact, all the workers seemed nicer than at SFO. It seems unfair that I was able to get a 5 hour nap on my lie flat seat, decent in flight food and beverages on my international flight and then come to this Polaris lounge for a nice hot shower and hot breakfast... but I guess that's how to travel!

I honestly didn't had too much time to explore their amenities, friendly staff for sure, the seating situation to order ala carte food was a bummer since the wait time was around 45 minutes, the cocktails were pretty good

This lounge, as expected, is definitely a cut above the rest: ample seating and space, nice bathrooms and shower areas, a sit down restaurant area, a buffet sit wherever you'd like area, and a bar. Even with a lot of people in the lounge, it never felt crowded, and the wait for anything - restaurant, buffet, or bar - was never even close to long. The service, though a bit cold from many, was fine and nothing to complain about; I wanted to tell a couple of people that they didn't need to emulate the same snobby behavior that some travelers who frequent lounges do, but alas. Our food was generally good as well. Their omelets are interesting - not bad but not really an omelet. Everything else was pretty decent and at least above average, and the buffet area is pretty expansive. The bar is lovely, and there is a wide selection of liquor, wine, and sparkling. What's the issue and why not 5 stars? It was dirty. Fruit flies were a consistent presence, tables and furniture were not clean or wiped down, and in general, it was just quite ehh. This was true both times we went (on the way to Japan and on the way back). That's simply unacceptable for a lounge of this caliber (or any lounge really) and with as many people working as they did.

During busy hours the wait can be up to 10 minutes. I recommend just leaving the lounge to use the bathroom. ~2pm: Waited for two hours to get in. The attendant at the front kept giving different times, citing the boarding of the KLM flight. This was incredibly frustrating and not even worth it, because there was no hot food and the space was mediocre. There was a quinoa salad, turkey&cheese sandwiches, cold bread rolls (with fancy butter though!), bananas, and chips. ~6am: Got in immediately and was pretty happy with the breakfast selection. There was warm toast, guacamole, sliced boiled eggs, pancakes, and an oatmeal bar. The lounge was pretty busy though, so I had to wait a while to use the bathroom. I actually slept in the lounge for an hour and it wasn't the worst. Overall, I'd recommend coming only during a time when they accept priority pass. If they say "come back later", just find another place to go to. It's not worth waiting around for.

I stopped by both KLM and Air France and the food was identical - same pasta salad, leafy salad, two sandwiches, plastic-wrapped chocolate chip cookie... The lounge prioritizes their own airline customers and offer better hot food options for their own. If you happen to get there when they're about to reopen for Priority Pass, wait in line - it get long quick! I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if I happened to be at the airport early and had some time to kill, it was maybe $15-20 saved in free basic food and straightforward to get to especially with the post-security air tram.

After that, our oldest politely asked if he could also have a bag of popcorn. The volunteer responded firmly, "That's enough. You guys had too much already." I was honestly surprised by the tone and response, especially since they had only taken two items each. I asked if we could simply pay for the popcorn, but she said payment wasn't the issue -- they just didn't have enough food. What confused me was that there were no posted signs explaining item limits or any guidance about restrictions. Clear communication upfront would have prevented the misunderstanding. We also asked if we could use the microwave and were told no again, which added to the frustration. We donated $25 during our visit, and when I mentioned it, we were told that donation funds cannot be used to purchase additional food. That was surprising to hear. When the shift changed, the new volunteers were very polite and welcoming. However, by that point we felt uncomfortable and chose to leave without escalating the situation. We truly appreciate what the USO does for service members and families, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. We hope this feedback helps improve communication and consistency for future visitors.
