I am beyond satisfied with my experience!!! I had my first MRI experience today, and as someone who is very claustrophobic, I was extremely nervous. But Dr. Arash Rad was absolutely amazing!! He was incredibly professional, calm, and compassionate. From the very beginning he reassured me, talked me through the process, and kept checking on me the entire time to make sure I was okay. His patience and support made all the difference. Thanks to him, I was able to stay in the MRI machine for about 20 minutes without even realizing how quickly the time passed, which I never thought would be possible for me. I also want to give a special thank you to Nadia at the reception. She was so kind, warm, and welcoming. Her positive attitude immediately made me feel more comfortable the moment I walked in. The entire experience was far better than I expected. The staff here truly cares about their patients and goes above and beyond to make you feel safe and supported. I'm incredibly grateful and would highly recommend this place to anyone -- especially if you're nervous about having an MRI like I was. read more

They call and or text you to remind you of your appointments so that's already a plus. The service was quick and professional and they explained what they're doing and what they're for. The terrible treatment starts with the phone call. You try to make an appointment, but they constantly keep you waiting. On the first day, they asked me to send some information, I sent it, and they said they'd call back, but no one did. On the second day, I waited 40 minutes. They kept asking for information, couldn't understand what I was saying, and kept transferring me from one employee to another, who kept asking how I could help. In the end, after two days, we finally set a date, and then wasted two days just trying to make an appointment--this is terrible, terrible treatment. You're wasting your time. read more

Toxic management pay is not good they over work you and do not even acknowledge your hard work , they only see the mistakes instead of the good things you do for this company . The northridge facility is a very toxic place to work in , no new hire lasts there for long because of the manager., but yet the manager blames the employee for not handling the work load instead of really seeing their own mistakes and at least consider fixing them to be a better manager. The manager should be replaced he lacks management experience. He does not care if you have an emergency or if you have a doctors appointment he will see you as "lazy". I recommend not working at the Northridge facility. read more

I booked this location because the Los Angeles locations are saturated and I couldn't get an appointment for almost a month. The testing was for my demented 84 year old grandmother. Being in the medical field my self as an Oncology Nurse and now a Nurse Practitioner, I understand the challenges that the healthcare system creates for patients. I called this office a week in-advance to book an urgent exam for which I already had an authorization # for and the appropriate documentation . At no point was I told I needed a SECOND ORDER nor was I called during the week to be told my grandmother would NOT receive the exam she needed UNLESS SHE HAD THE SECOND ORDER. I arrived 2 hrs before the appointment to make sure she would be seen. I was told I needed THE second order. I explained to the front desk that I called and no one mentioned anything much less that we would not be seen. There was no manager or anyone other than a technician who came out to speak to me. Unaware THAT I was AWARE of the process she spoke in a loud tone. Loud enough that the patients waiting for their appointments could over hear our conversation about why my 84 year old grandmother had not had a mammogram, which violates HIPPA. She whispered with the front staff WHILE I stood there watching it in horror. I my grandmothers physician on the phone and he placed the order in REAL time. Which of course - doesn't help anyone; because that order has to be reviewed by Medicare and it takes time to get an authorization. ALL INFORMATION WHICH SHOULD HAVE CAUSED UMI NOT TO BOOK the original appointment IN THE FIRST PLACE. The technician assured me, someone had "called" and left a message. My grandmother is 84 and Spanish speaking. There was no interpreter or interpreter services available for the day (which ALSO violates patient rights). I don't blame the staff. There is definitely room for improvement on professionalism and customer service. When you have individuals working for a medical company but have no true understanding of what delaying care can mean for a patient - that is dangerous. We must remember we are not just shuffling paper when we work in healthcare, we are taking care of human beings. At the end of our visit, the technician was kind and appropriate. But i would not bring my grandmother back nor would i recommend this COMPANY as a whole. read more

This office failed to request necessary lab work prior to a scheduled CT scan. Keeping my 90 y.o. mom waiting for 2 additional hours, fasting. Staff is super slow, took them an hr to see my mom for X-ray and mammogram. The place was empty max 2 patients ahead of my mom. 10 staff members but I guess just only one person was working. They were to busy being on their phones. When they finally called she was back there for a max of 10-15 min. Why did it take an hr with only 2 patients and another 10 staff ? As we were leaving 2 of the workers held the door open for us and got bothered because I didn't say your welcome. I should have said thanks for wasting our time . I have a husband going through chemo treatment and 2 kids with autism I can't be wasting my especially when it's not busy at all. Today is Xmas eve. I came for MRI appointment... thinking it wouldn't be busy. Been waiting 45 mins in the lobby to get an MRI done. Nobody else is here but me!!! I see employees walking back and forth. apparently have all the time in the world to discuss holiday plans. While they keep giving me excuses. First they say they are getting the machine ready. Second excuse was the person ahead of me moved and they need to retake her X-ray. This place has the worst customer service. They can't get there story straight. read more

WOW they make it so easy for you here! The staff called me when they had my authorization , got me scheduled within days not weeks, and check-in was a breeze! The problem with UMI is that regardless of how many locations they have it takes forever to locate the center that will be able to perform your particular service. And the fact that when you call you have to leave messages which get answered maybe two days letter is just too much when your health matters. If I could give 0 stars I would. My appointment was scheduled at 11am and I am driving all the way from the South Bay (which anyone who takes the 405 freeway knows it's constantly traffic). I arrived at 10:15am because the staff told me the earlier the better. The staff were really nice...at first. Until after I gave my papers etc., they tell me the technician does not arrive to the imaging center till 12pm?!? They mentioned there are food places around the area in which I can wait but in my head I'm thinking why schedule me at 11am when you're staff does not even arrive an hour after? Fast forward to 12pm I arrive back to the imaging center and they tell me "just a few moments". I too work in the medical field and just a few moments means more than 15-30min. Currently it's 1:11pm and I have not been seen yet. It's been 3 hours and I have NOT been seen! Absolutely bizarre. It is also worthy to note, patients that ARRIVED AFTER ME are being seen before me? I overheard a staff member schedule a patient before me because they're receiving an ultrasound and that it was "much faster" so they scheduled the patient before me because I'm here to receive a DEXA exam. Not sure what is up with this imaging center, but this is not how a medical clinic should be run. You do not schedule a patient an hour in advance when the technician is not in, have them wait 3 hours, AND have other patients who have arrived after go before patients who were scheduled hours before. This isn't the ER. You don't triage here. This isn't a walk in Urgent Care. We have scheduled appointments. I'm not one to write reviews but this one was an exception. read more

This office leaves a lot to be desired. I had two tests taken to see if I had breast cancer. It took over a month to find out if the tests were ever sent to my Doctor. I made several calls to this office and not one person felt it necessary to call me back. I just don't understand how people can run a service such as this one, with people who just don't care about the people they are treating. I only chose this location because it was close to my home. My son has epilepsy...His doctor sent him for an MRI at UMI Northridge. After the MRI he was to take the CD with the results and give it to his Neurologist. The CD they gave him had his name on it but IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S MRI RESULTS! Someone at the office did discover the mistake and it was caught just before he gave it to his doctor. This mistake could have severely endangered him! How could this happen? read more

Worst experience in my life with brutal Breast Ultrasound technician. Room 135. I was sent by my pcp doctor. There is a female technician who was doing breast ultrasound had a very harsh and rude attitude. She was irritated and seemed very annoyed that i was talking to her, although she was asking me questions which I had to answer. She didn't seem to care to hide that she hates everyone who comes in. Extremely rude and brutal female. Avoid this place. Poor women who have to face with her. She is so nasty and aggressive. She was talking to the one that speaks Spanish to see if she can help tell the lady who was helping her since she only speaks English. The lady who speaks Spanish looked at us all annoyed like if we did something to her. All my grandma ask was that she didn't get a paper and they told her that she had an appointment here with them. Apparently the old lady couldn't find it and the young lady found it and give her a look. Like "wow you couldn't find it and I found it just look for it dude." To her own co-worker. The old lady in blonde hair found it and was printing out the paper my grandma had to sign I was answering the lady question since my grandma didn't understand them. I answered for her and the lady in blonde hair was completely ignoring me and was keep talking to my grandma. At that point I told my grandma to say yes because she was asking if it was the right address. While I was helping my grandma sign the paper my girlfriend noticed that the old lady in blonde hair was keep looking at my grandma and us up and down while I was helping her sign the paper work. This place needs to do better in replacing the whole front desk and getting people who actually want to work here instead or people who hate being here I would agree with all the negative reviews on this place they treat people like if they were trash. I have been experiencing some very bad right shoulder pain, I went to the doctor and they referred me here to this Northridge location. I had called once I had my referral I called in and immediately called in and Nadia took amazing care of me with a fast appointment for an emergency. Once I arrived in the building I was immediately greeted by Kannandra and she helped me with the paperwork and it was very easy! I also wanted to put a shoutout to Gloria for making everything fast and an amazing experience. Well I have another doctors appointment at 1:00 and not sure I'm going to make it because of this poorly run imaging office. While I've only been here once, I had a great experience. I needed an x-ray so I went as a walk-in. The people at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. They said I should be seen in no time. I only waited 10 minutes then they called me in. The x-ray tech was very cool and did everything fast and efficient. I have been to UMIH several times over the years for MRI, CT and X-Rays. Every time, the entire staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. With an appointment, I never had to wait more than about five minutes and reports were sent to my doctors very quickly. I am extremely claustrophobic and just the thought of an MRI makes me ill. I had scheduled a Ct scan trough my doctors office, they had sent me to Santa Monica to a ucla center. My insurance contacted me and advise that I could use this location for the same result, not only will it be faster but also cheaper to my pocket. The service was great, the tech was really nice super professional and efficient. He took his time to explain to me every step of the way, he made you feel at home. The results were sent to my doctor quick and in a couple of days they were there. Front desk was nice I didn't get any fuss I don't know why the negative reviews I didn't think it was hard at all. I had to have an MRI and they were able to offer me an appointment the next day. Parking was easy, the staff were all very friendly. I did not wait more than 5 minutes after I completed my paperwork before I was taken back for the MRI. Avoid this place. I called them because i got a referral from my md to do xray on my left rib. They said xray is walk in and no appointment is required. I went there and there was no patients at all. After i was waiting for a while 4-5 patients started coming in. Those 4-5 patients that came after me was called in before me, which left me waiting for 1 hour. I started complaining and the front desk was so rude. She said those people are here to do ultrasound and it's only gonna take 5 mins. After that, i was finally called in. They took an xray picture and I told them i have pain in my LEFT rib, why did u take an xray on my right rib? He said " don't worry. It's completed". I was like ????...i was done in 2 mins and my daughter that was waiting outside told me that those patients that were called in before me are not even out yet. Worst service ever.. read more

This was my first time at this facility and I was referred to this location from my doctor. The x-ray techs are friendly and I did not have any problems with them. The problem I experienced was with one girl at the front desk. When I entered the lobby, she ignored me for about 15 minutes as she was "too busy" text messaging on her phone. She was not only incompetent but she argued that I needed to pay additional fees, despite me being told the day prior by their office that no additional fees needed to be paid out of pocket. This place is a nightmare to deal with and I recommend taking one's business elsewhere. It's not worth the time or money to deal with this place! read more

The Tech Rafi knew my 74 years old mom bumped her head to the DEXA machine and did not do anything until I looked at it after. Then he said because she was fine then gave her some ice packs upon my request with the snide comment "I'm helping her now". He's rude and inappropriate. At first he grabbed my mom's shirt under her jacket without asking for permission to expose if her pants have zippers even before she can respond to his questions. Then after he's done doing the imaging, he just turned to me outside the room and told me it's done and left her there just laying at the machine. He could at least helped her get up or assisted her in any way. This all happened just today 2/3/21 at past 9 am. And when I asked the receptionist to make an incident report, she even tried to defend Tech Raffi and kept saying that for years they haven't received any complaints. I had to show her my mom's bumped and bruised forehead. Did not do any incident report when we left. ADMIN and HR of this company, PLEASE LOOK UP THIS ISSUE. ALso RAFII the tech IS NOT WEARING GLOVES AT ALL TIMES. read more

I would avoid going here if possible. While they were able to get me in for a last minute MRI and the tech was very pleasant, the rest of the experience was terrible. The receptionist was extremely rude and dismissive. The wait time was very long, though this isn't a strange thing for medical facilities. No music during the brain MRI, but that's also forgivable. The biggest problems were that they gave me the WRONG MRI. They broke patient confidentiality in a terrible way, considering the disk they gave me contained another person's information and MRI! When I called to tell them about this, the same receptionist very rudely told me they'd send me a new one and then hung up on me. Later, I then found out that they charged me the wrong amount! I was told on the day of that I was paying everything up front, so I was shocked when I received a new bill. I spoke with billing services and the nice representative seemed sure they could waive the fee considering they got the price wrong AND sent me the WRONG MRI. Alas, 4 days later (granted it was only 2 business days), her supervisor finally rolled around and told her that my fee could not be waived. So, I'd imagine most places would be better. I now understand why my doctor sounded apologetic when they told me I would have to go here. read more

The techs were great very friendly but the front staff are the worst. I had to bring my mother who is 58 years old and disabled with me to watch my 19 month old son while i had an ultrasound. He started crying so my mother took him for a walk even though its 90 degrees outside. When they returned i was still not finished. My mother is limited on how long she can be on her feet and has severe asthma. So she sat down to use her inhaler and my son started to cry again. The "staff" told my mother that she and my son needed to leave and wait outside because they couldnt hear the phone. That is totally unacceptable your asking a disabled senior and an 19 month old baby to wait out in the 90 degree heat for who knows how long. When i called them to hear their side the was no apology, remorse or even acknowledgement of any wrong doing. I will never come here again. read more
