I want to give a shout out to employee David Stephens, who did the most amazing job for me…read moreyesterday. From start to finish I was pleasantly surprised of the great communication, fair price, quality work and fast service I received. He left my bathroom spotless after two messy repairs and I was so impressed. I have not always had good luck with contractors or repair people. More often than not, I have ended up feeling cheated, frustrated and disappointed, But not with Shaw. I believe this is the second fantastic experience I have had with this company. What really made my day was hearing from an employee what a great place Shaw is to work and how much they love their job. Now, you don't hear that every day! That right there is how you run a successful business. I highly recommend Shaw to all my family and Friends. The owner Hank Shaw, is a honest to goodness stand up guy.

Last August/September I called Shaw Plumbing for a water heater estimate. The technician told me my…read moreunit was 30 years old, unsafe to keep using, and needed immediate replacement -- then quoted $5,000 for a 50-gallon tank plus labor, despite the fact that I live alone and have no need for that size. I got a second opinion today (took me a while) before agreeing to anything. My new plumber found the unit was actually 13 years old and functioning fine -- no replacement necessary. In other words, everything I was told to justify a $5,000 job was false. I'll let readers draw their own conclusions about what happened here. What I do know is: get a second opinion before you sign anything with this company, especially if you're being told something needs to be replaced "ASAP." Feels like elder abuse and / or gender discrimination to me.

Ineffective Service, Exorbitant Charge for Nothing, and Management Ignores Customers…read more I regret calling Raptor Rooter & Plumbing LLC for a serious plumbing issue in mid-November 2025. Water was backing up from a basement floor drain in my South Hill Spokane home, creating a messy and urgent situation. Technician Brandon arrived and, after I described the recurring problem in detail, tested the drain by running water. He then briefly ran a cable snake only about 2 feet into the drain and stopped. He provided no diagnosis, no explanation for the backup, and admitted he didn't have a camera scope on hand--which likely would have revealed the root cause. After roughly 45 minutes, he left without resolving anything. I was shocked to be billed $462 for this unproductive visit. Hoping for some accountability, I left a message two days later for General Manager Chris, asking him to call me about Brandon's service. It's now January 7, 2026--nearly two months later--and Chris has never bothered to return my call, showing a complete lack of integrity or concern for customer satisfaction. Fortunately, I found a reputable plumbing company in the area. Their general manager and team were responsive, thorough, and fixed the problem permanently. Raptor Rooter's work was inadequate, their follow-through appalling, and their overall integrity horrendous. Save yourself the frustration and money--I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU CHOOSE ANYONE ELSE for work beyond attaching a garden hose.

Because it was electrical in nature and I work in insurance and see a lot of house fires (due to electrical issues), we opted to replace. The process was smooth and the team was amazing. They even brought out a generator so I could hook up my laptop for work. I see a lot of negative reviews and not sure why. Home repairs aren't generally cheap. I understand why they charge to come out to bid - it's time out of someone's day, gas, scheduling, etc. The inspection went great. We are relieved our problem was resolved. Thank you to Mainstream for the great work. Oh, and thanks for dealing with our crazy dog Charlee. I would highly recommend Mainstream.

The tech came to check things out. In less than 5 minutes he told me that a whole system would need to be replaced, but he couldn't give an estimate without a project coordinator. I paid the service call fee (which I think I should be refunded) and sent the inept tech on his way. We got a second opinion. The tech from a different company listened carefully when I explained everything. He did his inspection/diagnostic and after a very thorough assessment, he said that one of our capacitor wires was not connected. He reconnected the wire, also made sure all other connections were correct. NOTHING needs replaced! However, if the first tech wasn't so inept, we wouldn't have found the PERFECT company. Stay away from this place!
