Ineffective Service, Exorbitant Charge for Nothing, and Management Ignores Customers I regret calling Raptor Rooter & Plumbing LLC for a serious plumbing issue in mid-November 2025. Water was backing up from a basement floor drain in my South Hill Spokane home, creating a messy and urgent situation. Technician Brandon arrived and, after I described the recurring problem in detail, tested the drain by running water. He then briefly ran a cable snake only about 2 feet into the drain and stopped. He provided no diagnosis, no explanation for the backup, and admitted he didn't have a camera scope on hand--which likely would have revealed the root cause. After roughly 45 minutes, he left without resolving anything. I was shocked to be billed $462 for this unproductive visit. Hoping for some accountability, I left a message two days later for General Manager Chris, asking him to call me about Brandon's service. It's now January 7, 2026--nearly two months later--and Chris has never bothered to return my call, showing a complete lack of integrity or concern for customer satisfaction. Fortunately, I found a reputable plumbing company in the area. Their general manager and team were responsive, thorough, and fixed the problem permanently. We chose Raptor Rooter to come out to to diagnose and service our water heater because they are the ones who installed it two years ago. Turns out one of our elements was out. We were quoted $350 for the repair. The water heater fell under manufacture parts warranty. I asked them to use that but they didn't know how the warranty worked even though they are the ones who installed this water heater and carry this brand. I called the manufacturer to see how to go about getting my element under the warranty. The manufacturer told me the parts could only be obtained by a licensed plumber or it would void my warranty. I let the technician know what to do. The next morning, the day that they were to repair the water heater, I get a text from the plumber stating "Good morning Kresley this is Joe with raptor rooter. I know that the elements are under manufacture warranty but the two different prices are: If we supply the part: 707.68 And if you were to go get the parts: 505.32". We talked on the phone and told him I was confused why the price jumped and he stated that it was because he misquoted me initially. He also seemed very annoyed and inconvenienced that I was asking him to get the parts under warranty instead of me having to pay for those out of pocket. I text him again with the manufacturer warranty instructions. 10 minutes goes by and then get another text "So the price for us to replace them with a 10% discount would be 636.91 that's what my boss just told me the price would be". In less than 24 hours their price changed 3 times. He mentions the 10% discount because they had to reschedule my initial appointment with them twice. Once for double booking the next for them running extremely behind. I cancelled my appointment with them and had Shaw Plumbing come out the same day. They were upfront, stuck to their estimate, $470, and mentioned if they were the ones that installed the water heater in first place, this kind of service call would have fallen under their 6 year warranty and would have been fixed at no charge. read more

I don't know how this company got any good reviews.We bought a new home through Hayden Homes and this company did the plumbing.Our toilet was leaking out around the bottom and they came back and supposedly reseated it. But they put a lot of chaulking around the bottom to seal it which meant the new leak took longer to show up and the floor completely warped from all the water before it got so bad it leaked despite the caulking. Came out snaked the drain said it was frozen could not get the auger to continue in the pipe and then said a quote of $1600 to thaw the frozen pipe. Not even an hours work performed. Raptor rooter fixed a pipe under my trailer fine but did not replace the heat tape or insulation on the new portion of pipe

We had two leaky hose bibs and an in-line valve outside the house. Thought maybe I could do the job myself but the plumbing is old and I wasn't sure what I needed to do for outside plumbing in potentially freezing weather. I called a few sprinkler companies and they were booked way out. The one that services our system suggested Raptor so we called and had Caleb out the next day. Without any drama he outlined exactly what he would do and got it done quickly. The workmanship looks terrific and the valves all work perfectly. I would have done a terrible job since certain things were needed to deal with freezing conditions and which I knew nothing about. Caleb was easy to deal with and explained the process clearly. I was a bit taken aback by the cost, but the quality work, the equipment needed to properly account for outside weather and the guarantee/warranty made it worth it. When the technician arrived he took the shower valve apart broke a screw off which intern made that leak worse put the cover back on and left saying he would be back with a needed part. He never returned until many days later and the shower had been leaking significantly worse in the meantime. was not to mention he did something that stopped the cold water from being available so The water was scalding hot. The bill was $350 for nothing fixed. They told me it was a free estimate which is why I hired them to begin with but once he was here and had tried to find the problem he said the diagnosis would cost $350 which we had to pay. Avoid Raptor Rooter unless you want a very expensive hassle. On Monday afternoon I called to ask about availability for a simple kitchen drain cleanout service. It was about 2:30pm and I was told yes a tech was available and would be there between 2:30 and 5pm. I already had an appointment scheduled for the following day so based on this expectation, I cancelled my other appointment. (Actually this was also based on my other expectation that pricing from Raptor Rooter would be fair.) Turns out, I regretted not keeping my other appointment. At 5:30pm nobody showed and I hadn't heard from anyone. I called dispatch to inquire and later got a call from the technician asking if I still needed service. Yes I did of course. He finally showed up at 6:15. I believe had I not chased this down I would not have seen anyone. This was a hassle but is not even my big problem; at the end of the day he did his job without issue. My big problem is with the price. The other appointment I canceled was for a simple drain cleanout special for $79 (regular $149). Imagine my surprise when my Raptor Rooter bill was $410 - nearly triple. (Gulp!) This equates to over $500/hr! The service was nothing special: it was completed in under 45 minutes and only required 25' of snake (according to the tech). It was not scheduled after hours, was not an emergency, no special tools were used and no extra plumbing was done - and no special pricing was mentioned at the time I called to schedule. I've hired Raptor Rooter several other times in the past. My last call to Raptor was about a year ago. At the time the bill was for double the amount of time the service actually took. And at the time I had to take steps with Raptor Rooter to resolve the bill. I will say at that time they did correct it, but only because I pressed the issue. Coupled with my current bill this now seems like an unsettling pattern of incorrectly/exorbitantly inflated pricing. Is this a coincidence or is it Raptor Rooter policy to overbill customers and hope they pay without complaint? I encourage you not to find out and avoid calling Raptor Rooter at all. Raptor Rooter claims they don't have hourly rates, only flat rates. When I bring this up to them they just parrot "flat rate" and seem incapable or unwilling to understand my problem with the overall price. As of this posting I've sent an email, a text, left several messages, and been passed off several times on hold with them. Nobody has texted, emailed, or called me back. Raptor Rooter is at worst prone toward unethical pricing and at best not an affordable company to do business with. Unless you are wealthy and don't care, I would just steer clear of Raptor Rooter altogether. read more

The renter thought they cleared the plug but we decided to have it checked out. Jason was thorough in troubleshooting but could not get it to replicate the issue. I had a garbage disposal installed, along with many other plumbing issues. As a single woman, 1st time homeowner believes what I was told about the job. I did not use the garbage disposal for a while after I had them replace it. When I did flames, shot out from the switch. Call the on call emergency number and was told that I could not get anyone to take a message till 7 pm, and it was 12:30 pm. Shut the power to my house off because I didn't want to have it catch on fire. And yes, it was winter. When I spoke with the office chick, she rudely told me it worked. And that it is my problem. Had an electrician come and replace a light in my laundry room and to see what was not working with my garbage disposal. The plumber hooked up the switch correctly but hooked it up to the disposal backward!!! The plumber showed up wearing the popular UnMask Covid mesh mask and made the situation worse by somehow leaving my toilet running every 3 to 5 minutes until he returned a few days later to fix it so I could sleep without water rushing noises waking me up every night. The warranty company charged me a second $75 fee because this plumber reported that nothing was wrong and, although I've left four messages to discuss this, they refuse to return my calls.
