I also got it with the system where it doesn't require a bunch of chemicals and testing which has really made my life so much easier. Marginal quality in manufacturing. I've had so many issues with this spa. The latest is the hoses underneath, keep popping off and flooding the equipment. I've fixed it a couple of times, and now and another hose has blown. They used a marginal amount of glue on hoses with the greatest stress points. Just not good. Spend a little more money and get something of quality. I wish I could have a do over. read more

We have had our Spa for 4 years and needed service. Went into the showroom per the request of Tim to trade in our swim spa for a regular 4-6 person spa. Made time out of my day to go and meet with him. Told him which spa we were intrested in and he never got back to me with any numbers or information. Completely ghosted us. We still needed get our spa serviced and Jose did a good job and he was able to get our trade information to us. Not worth the trade but at least we got the information. I have very little faith in their service practices and have now found a service company that is not charging 200% markup on parts. My original 5 star review was somewhat legitamte for the inital delivery and purchase (they offer free filters for 5 star reviews) After purchase customer service experience was less than satisfactory and service dept prices are outrageous. read more

Yet Another Update: Spoke with Mr. and Mrs. Kelly. Mr. Kelly assured me that Tim won't be contacting my employers if he has to go kick his a** himself. I asked if they knew what Tim was doing this whole time with his review updates on my husband's page and they said no but told Tim to take them down. He edited one but didn't take any down. When I told Nadine that Tim never had any interaction with my husband's business she said that Tim was posting about her interaction. Her husband had just said that he sent Tim out looking for roof bids because it was raining (in May?) and they couldn't get anyone out. I told her that what Tim posted and what she said happened in a text to me are not congruent. She said she stands by everything she said despite the screenshot proof I have to dispute her claims. She said she wanted my husband to give her a roof quote. I reminded her that by this time the spa deal was going down the toilet and I advised him to steer clear of any other business interactions. If she wanted to post that, she could, but all this other stuff is inaccurate. She then said my husband was calling the office cussing employees out. I challenged that and was then told that Eleanor didn't like what he said to her but couldn't say what. Mr. Kelly said he's tired of hearing my name. He said Tim would take down his review if I take down mine. I said once Tim's is down I would remove mine since my job is now being threatened. They said I'd have to take mine down first. I explained that I can't trust either Tim nor Nadine since they both have shown dishonesty by the false review on my Husband's page and Nadine's response to this review, which I proved false with screenshots. Nadine told me to trust her. Looks like I'll need to get a restraining order against Tim. I can only surmise that Nadine and Tim are either habitual liars or have other undisclosed issues. The jury is still out on Mr. Kelly. His reaction to Tim's behavior was normal and I had hope that he would be a voice of reason, despite my previous interaction with him. Nadine took this opportunity to try and tell me that my husband "warned" her about me. If she needed to be warned to not take advantage of a customer then shame on her. They call me back to get me to call the finance. I said I'm still waiting on resolution of the steps and how the stereo still has to be on the highest setting and that I shouldn't have to adjust my phone to get their stereo to work. Nadine replies that I said the stereo was better. I said it was but that it still wasn't right. Apparently her tech didn't tell her the rest of our discussion. She agreed to let me buy a better set of stairs or eventually just refund my steps and that she'd send him back out. Then she agreed to swap out my steps after stating how "no one else" has a problem with these same steps. Repair guy returns, adds a speaker, tests the step with shoes on to confirm that they bow, and replace them. Then they demand I sign that same waiver that states that they owe nothing to me without me testing the new steps. I modified the waiver to reflect the stereo only and they said they'd just pick up the spa. We agreed I'd test the steps and agree or give back the spa that Friday 7/27/18I call on Friday and say the steps are defective as well and she agreed to refund the cost of the steps. We agreed. I said I'd try to call the finance company that day but it would probably be Monday. The next day, Saturday 7/28, the spa lights are now defective. One light is out completely on some colors, dim on others and one other light is dim. I text Nadine to complain and she tells me to call the office to schedule for service AGAIN. I got caught up with work and sick kids and don't follow up myself. Now Nadine and her husband conference call me this morning, as I'm on my way to a doctor appointment, to say that the finance company is going to disapprove the purchase because now they see me as a bad risk. I tell them both that there are still problems and I'm not going to go around and around trying to get them to fix it. They offer to come out today to fix the lights but I have to be home to call the finance company in their presence. I asked them to just refund the cost of the lights and I'll call the finance company and we can be done with it. I was told no that they already refunded the steps (in theory) and that he doesn't think it's a spa problem but it's a finance problem. Insulted, I explain that I most definitely can afford the spa but that I'm not going to sign a waiver stating that I've received everything in good working order just so they can get paid. He then wanted about A+ BBB rating and a 4+ star rating here and how he wouldn't jeopardize his reputation over me. I promptly hung up and texted Nadine back asking for dates and times to schedule the return of this. read more

I met the people at United Spas at the home show in Pleasanton in February. They salesman was knowledgeable and helped us quite a lot. We placed an order for a spa which was to be delivered in approximately two weeks. In between that time the coronavirus hit and we had to shelter in place. At the same time we decided that we would put the spa off because at that same time the stock market was crashing. So I called up and met Nadine on the phone. Nadine is probably the best and most knowledgeable spa company owner there is. She told us how well-made the spas are and then said that they had some refurbished ones which would have a great warranty as well. Basically, she saved us a lot off the spa and we got a fantastic hot tub. All the customer service reps spent time with us answering the questions that we had, the delivery men were very well prepared and set up the spa quickly, politely, efficiently and told us how to use it. They even came back a separate time just to give us a spare jet that they had for our future use.... all the while keeping social distancing. To make a long story short this company is the best company that I've purchased anything from in many years. I thoroughly recommend them; and the spa is fantastic. read more

I had United Spas come out to figure out why my hot tub kept tripping the circuit. I was not home but my daughter was there. They called me and said the heater was going out and a new heater would be approximately $700-$800. My hot tub is 20 years old so the thought of paying that much to invest in something that might potentially breakdown was a no brainer. I spoke on the phone with the technicians and we agreed on just making it a cold tub for the summer. They told me to just make sure it cycled for at least 15 minutes a day. The next day I shut off the circuit and started draining the hot tub. I opened the hot tub and it was steaming and so hot I couldn´t even put my hand in it. For a heater that was breaking it was exceptionally hot. I called them and they stated it was only running at a certain percentage of what it should be. Well, for making it a cold tub they had left the heater on a 24 cycle period. I called them and they told me they could come over and turn the temperature down. Seriously, I can turn a knob down. Jack up the PG&E bill. They said they were sorry and they could put some coupons in my portfolio/file (the owner). Left it at that. 2 weeks later I called because it tried to make the jets go on and they wouldn´t. They said that would be an additional service call because the jets were working when they were there (how do I know that). They were unapologetic and I would not recommend them. The hot tub was well made and lasted a long time. I wish I could say the same thing about the people behind it. read more

This is a great hot tub--large, comfortable, reliable, and pretty straightforward. Only drawback is that we always have to hit the set button to get it up to the temperature we like (103 degrees), even though it usually says 103 on the display. Then in about 20 minutes it's ready to go. Service is about $199/year, and it's been working fine for a few years now without having to get a repair. I recommend the spa and service. read more

I spoke to Courtney in the office and she told me I could make an appt to get my spa repaired, even though I did not buy it from them. I explained I would have the part, and I only needed the repair. I told her I would call her back and let her know which day I would have it. The company that manufactured my spa called to verify if they needed a work order, and one of the owners that answered the phone decided they didn't want to do the repair, since they asked if the needed one. I explained that I would be paying for the repair and could get reimbursed at a later time, since the spa is under warranty. It's a bit disappointing that one person in the office quoted me a price, and when I told him what she quoted me, he decided to refer me to Spa Doctors, and said they " love this kind of stuff". Very disappointed in the way i was brushed off after I was already told they do outside hot tub repairs. My electrician even recommended them to me. Update: I am updating my review since Tim the owner reached out to me personally, and explained that they are shorter staffed due to Covid, and wanted to leave room open for their customers and give smaller business the opportunity during these times. He told me he could have someone out today or Monday to do the repair. I'm impressed in the way they are taking care of the situation and making it right. I can see they value their customers and their business reputation. Update after the repair: The service technician arrived following Covid protocol, and was able to get the spa heater fixed within the hour. The service technician was very professional over the phone, and my mother commented on how he had a mask on, and was very professional and friendly in person. He called me before he arrived, and to follow up after the repair. I would recommend this company to my friends and family, and I would call them if I ever need another repair in the future. Don't buy your swim spa here!! We bought a refurbished spa for 28,000 not including taxes and we have had nothing but problems. After about a month one of our jets got clogged and they told me a couple things I can try to do and wait a couple months then call back. Well guess what our labor warranty was over in 90 days and we had to pay 400 for someone to come look at it. All they did was come up and tell me to buy a vacuum and clean behind my jets. Now a month after that half of our jets won't work. I called and asked them if they can pay for the labor so we don't have to pay since we have had nothing but problems. All they said they would do is slip up the payments to repair our swim spa. For 28,000 I would think they would help out their customers better. We have not been happy with our swim spa and I don't recommend this company. They will not guid you in the right direction and they have shit product. Oh yes on top of that we have a head rest that never fit and the glue that holds on our jets has been coming off since day 1. Don't buy here!! read more

I called me an appointment to see Tim the owner/president of the company my first time going to a business to look at spas. Tim is very nice talked me through the process of how they make it the show room was missing a few spas because they had their "end-of-the-year clearance". I had a lot of questions to ask I was there for around 30 minutes. As soon as I told him that I would go home and talk to my husband about the spas his attitude changed. He let me know that he was unavailable for the rest of the day completely booked up on appointments and I will not be able to come back the next day and look at the spas. I would need to go to a different location out of town without getting the discount. It was like he wanted me to purchase a spa right then and there. Went home and talk to my husband about everything. He wanted to go back the next day. My husband was very impressed by Tim and the sale. So he purchased a spa that previously not there the day before (Supposedly financing fell through) Everything went OK we do have to have an electrician come out and change the outlet. He also did add on LED light to the spa. My husband and I kept in contact with United spas throughout the days. They told us Thursday or Friday it would get delivered. On Thursday they told us that they would not be coming until Monday now. We made arrangements to have it delivered on Monday. Delivery day I never once got a call that they are on they way. United Crane came first he was early and just hung out. Super nice guy I would recommend United crane again! Around 12:15 everyone else showed up. The spa was delivered and everything went pretty smooth. There was a good scratch on the side of the spa and they gave me some touch up paint for that. The guy gave us a bunch of paperwork and talked about all the bells and whistles of the spa and how everything worked. He did take his time and asked if we had any questions. It was a lot of information at once if you have never had a spa before. That night I looked at all the paperwork for the spa. I was upset in the fact that Tim told me it was 6.9% interest but that's only for the first year! Then it goes to 13.99!! I was not aware of this. They also gave us a name of a guy that does electrician work on the side he was not the easiest to get in contact with. That did not work out for us so we hired an electrician that was licensed, bonded and insured. We do not have the spa going at this time because of the Electrician problem. So I will do an updated review when we've had the spa for a month. read more

Update... Tim called to discuss our experience, and options to solve our frustrations. I wish we had the same experience when we called for help prior to this review, but I do have a lot of respect for Tim stepping in to own their customers experience. Hoping to have a good experience with their follow through too. We enjoy our spa and the wait for it was only about 10 weeks, but I wouldn't buy from them if we could go back and do it again. We had to wait nearly an hour after our appointment time to finally talk to someone. Nadine gave us the sales pitch, seemed very interested in helping us and said text her up until 9 that night and that she always had her phone on her. We text her that evening to confirm we decided to buy and she never responded. We called the next day and she never responded. We finally connected with someone else to make payment and then began the waiting process until delivery. A week before delivery they called to say it didn't pass the water test and it would be 2 more weeks. Seemed strange, but what's 2 more weeks. They finally delivered the spa and provided us an old dirty used cover and said they didn't have a new one yet. I thought they could have at least washed it, but whatever. What I find unacceptable is their pettiness over a power cord. They didn't tell us a cord was extra, so we had to buy one from them the day of delivery. The cord doesn't fit into a standard outdoor electrical cover, so we needed to plug it into a different receptacle. Well guess what? They had already cut the $149 cord they made us pay for, now it is too short and they won't exchange it. We pay thousands for a spa, hundreds for delivery, and they can't exchange a $150 cord for us. Add on to that, they didn't bother to mount the cover clasps to our hot tub when they delivered the new cover, didn't provide the key to the safety latches, and the paint is already chipped and cracking on the hot tub we have had for 11 days. I hope the quality and longevity of their product turns out better than their service. read more

At United spa's the staff is very well informed about the mechanics on how the tubs work and long term Maintanance. We designed the right configuration for my needs. Because of the pricing, I was able to purchase the Balboa, Executive Series, 7 person spa. My salesman was Tim, I have worked with Nadine, Alexis, and most recently Matt, as well as others in the office, all provided excellent customer service and had always been there to answer my questions, prior to installation, and after installation, very helpful!! After two years of searching for the right spa, we finally found the spa we were looking for at United Spas. Its just the two of us and we didn't want a big spa that took a lot of water and electricity to maintain. We bought the 3 person Dolphin and love it. One side is a lounger and the other has two seats. Each seat come with more jets than you can imagine and they all are in the right place. Because we were building our house and not ready for delivery, US Spas held the spa for 3 months. When it was delivered, we couldn't have been more happy. Eddie and Bob were careful with the delivery and set up, answered all our questions and explained the spa so that we easily understood and felt comfortable with the information. He did an excellent job and saved us several hundred dollars! There was an initial problem with the topside control which they replaced without delay. Mathew T. did the repair. He was right on time and had the issue identified and the new part installed within minutes. This is the second unit we have purchased from this company.
