every time I come here there's only one person working. I understand issues with staffing shortages, but for a company to go two months without hiring people and leave one woman to be working by herself Every day is ridiculous and it definitely impacts the quality of customer service at this location. Four separate times this week I have tried to go print a packing label to ship out a package while on break from work. Every single time I go in, there is minimum five people in line and it takes at least 45 minutes to an hour for them to even get to me in line. This is not how a government facility should be functioning and it's sad that they treat their employees and customers the way that they do. read more

Sign on the door said CLOSED FOR LUNCH with no indication of when they would reopen. I went next door for lunch myself ~ love Park Road Soda Shop!! ~ and came back at 2:30. Still closed. A guy who had been waiting started knocking on the door. A USPS employee yelled "I'M ON LUNCH. STOP KNOCKING." I asked when she would reopen and she responded "I DON'T KNOW. STOP KNOCKING." I asked if it would be a few minutes? An hour? No answer. So I left. There are very few businesses that leave customers in the dark as to when they might expect service. I have never experienced such rude and callous behavior from a US Post Office, I arrived 30 seconds after 5:00 pm and they refused to help me. A woman behind the counter screamed at the man standing at the door, "DON'T OPEN THE DOOR FOR HER WE ARE CLOSED!!! DON'T LET HER IN!" The guy at the door just stared at me with a blank look on his face. I said "please sir, it's just 30 seconds after 5:00". His robotic response "I understand ma'am, we're closed". Then I heard the woman screaming again behind the counter "DON'T LET HER IN!!!! DON'T LET HER IN!!" All the customers inside looked more shocked than I did. I will go in tomorrow and get this woman's name and report her. She is awful and should not be in any customer service facing position anywhere. I stopped in recently because I needed help with a PO Box. Did the ladies working there come to me with open arms excited to help, no. Did I expect them to, also no. I had an issue that took some time so I was chatting with them a little while and the longer we chatted the warmer and friendlier they were. I think people approach the post office like dmv, starting off with a bad attitude and expecting the workers who deal with annoyed people all day, and probably don't get paid much, to be bright and bubbly. A smaller and therefore extremely busy post office in the Park Road Shopping Center. It's by the "top" end of the strip, next to the Harris Teeter. Every time I've been in here, the staff was always super friendly and very helpful but there just aren't enough of them. At busier times (Christmas, Mondays and Fridays at lunch time), I've waited as long as a half hour. Lots of post office boxes and there's an automated machine for weighing packages and buying stamps, but it only accepts cards with a $1 minimum. No cash. read more

So I am unsure how this happened, but in all my years of living in Charlotte, I never realized there was a US Post Office in Park Rd Shopping Center. One of those: "hide in plain sight" type deals, but I really needed to mail a package that wouldn't fit in the package drop box so I saw they were open from 9am-1pm on Saturdays. I made it around 8:45am.... and these guys any seconds earlier than 9am... so much so that I was the first in a line of 4 people by the time the doors opened. Luckily I just had to drop off cause I purchased and printed my stamp the night before and just had to drop it at the desk. You could tell the 3 people behind me were already annoyed they were already in a line..... hopefully it wasn't a bad thing. It only took me a second to drop the package and walk out the door so hopefully I was the "perfect" customer for them that day. There's a large entrance area with PO Boxes and an automated kiosk in the lobby, unfortunately the package drop was just not the right size for me this time around. Since they had just opened, place was pretty clean and tidy.... I've seen other locations looking like a tornado when through there, but I'm sure this one is so tiny it's really easy for upkeep. Parking is next to the Harris Teeter so the parking lot is super busy here. Just don't get run over trying to find a place in line here ;) read more

The joys of going to the post office and standing in line...thankfully, it's not an errand I regularly do. They sure get a lot of people in and out at this stop. As most post office location, the lunch hour is its rush hour. For the service and efficiency, 3 stars and nothing less. Each time I have gone, the longest I've waited was 15 minutes with the line halfway down the hall. The employees have been friendly too, which is a bonus. Just inside the door is the handy credit card or debit machine for your basic needs. If you have never used it before, sometimes they have a staff member helping out. We have had our PO Box at this location for almost 25 years. In the past few months there seems to be a major breakdown of qualified workers. In the past 2 days I have been receiving calls and emails asking if we changed our address because mail is being returned to sender as "Unclaimed". This is a business po box so 98% of our mail is payments received and bills. In the past few weeks I have been getting more mail for someone else's po box at that same location and a few checks and junk mail. I called and complained to a manager but he was not at that location. I also called headquarters (1-800-275-8777) and filed a formal complaint. I have had good rapport with the tellers in the past. I believe the issue lies with either a new hire or temporary help from another location. Now I have to drive to a number of locations to pick-up mail that my customers do not want to pay postage for again. UPDATE: I went to the post office personally today (2/8/18) also and talked to one of the tellers. He looked at our mail that had been marked as "Unclaimed" and determined that the items never made it to this location. He believes the issue is at the distribution location and put a call into a manager. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly. read more

In the age of e-mail, you probably don't have a lot of need for the post office anymore. At least I don't. And yet I found myself recently in need of a money order (speeding ticket) and had no idea what to do--so I headed for the good 'ol post office on Park. I was expecting long lines, unfriendly employees and generally a hassle. What I got was the exact opposite: multiple employees who were extremely helpful, no lines, and efficient service. I actually killed two birds with one stone and sent a package while I was there--all very easy and hassle-free, which was great. So, yeah, don't be afraid to hit up the post office. This is the worst USPS location I have ever been to. Aside from being randomly closed on occasion (when the store hours say 9-5) the people who work here are disinterested, mean, rude and unhappy. Anyone working in the building radiated a negative energy that made me very uncomfortable. I was SCREAMED at for not standing on a blue mark on the ground TWICE. I am aware the marks are on the ground to keep us spaced out, I was trying to stand 6ft apart from the other people in line, the person behind me was very close to me. I did as I was told and waited patiently and uncomfortably in line. When I finally made it to the front of the store to drop off my package the person working was rude. I had a TERRIBLE experience and I will be telling everyone I know to NEVER come to this location. The post office should not be somewhere I was intimidated to ask for help. The post office should not be somewhere I feel uncomfortable going. I hope the people working there find something else to do for work, as it is obvious they do not like their jobs at this establishment. The way they were treating customers was repelling. I used to visit this location daily for my job. The staff is generally helpful, but because there is always a line, they will try to rush you as quickly as possible. I STRONGLY recommend that if you are doing an unconventional shipment (international, odd object, etc.) that you do a little bit of research online first and bring as much documentation with you when you go. That kind of goes for any Post Office, but because this one is SO busy, you'll be glad that you came prepared. read more

Not that any reviews change anything seeing as the Postal Service is a government agency, steer clear of this post office. The receptionists are nasty and insist on complicating easy fixes. Brought my package in yesterday to be shipped and used the wrong tape to ship my first class package. I was told I had to purchase clear or brown tape otherwise the package would not ship due to the tape on the box reading priority. So I purchased their brown tape. Asked the woman if this would be sufficient enough to tape over the priority tape to avoid any issues. She assumed me this would t be a problem. Go out to the car, retake my package. Come back in 5 minutes later and this other woman is insisting the tape poking out behind the brown tape I just put on would be a problem that I needed to take all the tape off my box otherwise they would not ship despite me fixing their original issue. This place is horrible bottom line I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to ship a simple package and when I asked for help and did what was requested I shouldn't have to deal with another woman's attitude because she can see portions of different tape on my box. Completely ridiculous, wasted 2 lunch hours over 2 days because of the office. read more

This office seems to be perpetually understaffed, sloppy interior, boxes everywhere, some people working frantically to deal with a long line and others milling about with not much purpose. For example, most of the pens on the work benches don't work. I got abused by a clerk, one Kirk Lee Johnson, today, who got unfairly impatient with me, saying I had not correctly labeled and completed the overseas mail forms and sent me to the back of the line until I got the packaging to suit him. I went to the post office downtown on Mc Dowell and was able to get my work done with the easier-to-get-along-with people there. read more

I live very close to Park Road shopping center. I have an online business and need to ship small packages frequently. This office consistently makes it difficult to mail packages even though I print labels at home. Yesterday, I wanted to pick up something at HT and had a package to put in the package drop. More times than not, the drop is full or malfunctioning as you can not open it to put in a package. On several occasions, I have put my package in the area at the letter drop when I can't put it in the package drop. Yesterday, there was a sign saying "No packages in the mail drop ". I am sure this was probably meant for me. I have even gone in when customer service is open and was unable to drop my package in the package drop. I walked thru the door to leave it and was told I could put in the drop. I informed them, it was not working. What did I do, I got in my car and drove to the Starmont post office on South Blvd. I have been going there more and more. No issues with lines, when I need something from customer service, I get a friendly smile and quick help. Maybe Park Road lines would not be so bad, if their self service stuff was working properly. If you are frustrated with Park Road PO, drive a little further to Starmont and see what a good post office should be. read more

The worst mailing experience I have ever had in my life!! Not only is this location at fault but USPS as a whole is very unprofessional and uneducated to their own policies! I mailed something from this location to China, I was returning a Halloween costume that didn't fit, and it had guaranteed delivery for October 11th with a guaranteed refund. It didn't make it there on time and didn't even leave the United States until October 18th. All I want is my money back which is guaranteed on my receipt and no one seems to know what to do. I went back to this location to get my money back and the manger wasn't there at the time so the woman working there said they couldn't process a refund and told me I could either come back the next day or go to the South Blvd location. So I decided to go to that location and they couldn't give me my money back and gave me a number to call instead. I go home and call the number and end up having to file an international claim. I asked the woman on the phone if I could just get my shipping money back and her response was "we have to make sure the other country isn't at fault." How can China be at fault when it didn't even leave the US until a WEEK after the guaranteed delivery date? I paid $68.65 to send it back and the merchandise I sent back costs $219 and hasn't even made it! This is ridiculous and all I want in my money back. Thanks USPS for not even giving me what I'm GUARANTEED! I will never do business with you again. read more

Before I explain the customer service experience I had with a rep. at this location I want to clarify that this experience is for a rep. by the name of Sandra. What should have been a simple package transaction turned into a nightmare. After waiting in line for over 15 minutes Sandra was the rep. that was supposed to help me with mailing a package. I could not locate the appropriate mailing label and asked for assistance and was met with a disgruntled employee with the most horrendous attitude I've ever experienced. She proceeded to talk condescending to me, when I advised her that I felt she was acted rudely and unprofessional she went on to say that " Y'all expect us to do everything" " If y'all would just learn to read the labels" I was puzzled this is a woman that is supposed to help provide customer service and she was openly complaining about her job description. To make matters worse she not only insulted me but the other customers that were around because they were subjected to her vile attitude and remarks. Since Sandra was not able to assist a customer in line was kind enough to look with me for the appropriate label even she had trouble finding it initially. I have been doing business with the USPS for over 13 years and have never had a problem. The experience here was so horrible that I will never come back to this location it was just that bad. When I was here I requested to speak with a manager but Sandra rudely stated "she's not her today" I asked for her managers name and she provided it so quickly which tells me that she has not only had complaints before but even worse that management is not addressing her scathing behavior. I've always had so much respect for this institution and its employees but I have lost so much faith in the post office's ability to provide any future services for me. I called and they said they never got the package, yet the other one that I mailed at the same time got to its destination. They are liars and cheats. The only reason I go here is because they are within walking distance of my office and condo. Every time I go here, I am disappointed. The front doors have been broken and not closing fully for the past 8 months (or longer). The lobby always looks messy. They're chronically out of priority mail supplies like boxes and envelopes. There's usually a line and along wait. They had no PO boxes for rent and their prices were the highest I've seen anywhere. Last time I went there was for a money order, and the clerk told me that the regular clerks were not working that day so he couldn't sell money orders. I ended up going to Harris Teeter next door for the money orders. I went there once for stamps, and the machine was out of stamps, so that time as well, I ended up at Harris Teeter for stamps. The postage machine for mailing packages is more often than not out of supplies, so I end up going to FedEx or UPS. I got a delivery notice from them for a certified letter for a prior occupant of my condo and I sent it back marked "return", and then the next day they send me the very same delivery notice again and a week later they sent me a new one marked "final notice" for the same article. I've filed complaints via the USPS website, but nothing has changed about this office. read more
