One of the biggest highlights for me is the self-service postal kiosk (that do-it-yourself machine that weighs your package, calculates the postage, and prints the label right there). Wow they are SO unbelievably rude in this place! I wasn't gonna leave a review because you never know when someone is having a bad day, but after a second instance of blatant hostility I had to share this experience. I run a small business and ship all my items with stamps to save shipping costs. Both times all I needed were stamps and both times the employees were so snarky to me for no reason. I asked if they could weigh the envelope and let me know if it was too heavy for one stamp to which the lady behind the counter thought it was a good idea to just bend the envelope completely?? She snarled something about it needing a special stamp. A few people have told me before that because the envelopes aren't completely flat, they would recommend a special stamp, but I haven't run into any issues shipping the way I do. I repeated my original question about the weight and she just handed the envelope back to me without weighing it. So yeah i'm not coming back here again! I happened upon this new USPS location while I was planning on going to the Bird store and this was so much more convenient. Was already planning on going to the Ballantyne Post Office after my Bird store stop, but it looks like this location is brand new.... I noticed no line and some freshly painted walls. This is in comparison to my experience yesterday at a super busy USPS location yesterday where the parcel drop box was locked and the line stretched almost to the doors (cough, park rd). Glad to see there's a new option, I will definitely keep this in mind for USPS needs! read more

I stopped by the main location to mail a small package. The post office had just closed (I arrived at 5:03 PM) but I was happy to use the self-service machine. When I visited another post office this week, the self-service machine was out of order, a frustrating experience. There is plenty of parking and I never have an issue when visiting this location for self-service postal services. read more

1 star is too much! DO NOT BOTHER PAYING EXTERA FOR INSURANCE!!! If you need an insured package to be sure an item is received, please use UPS or FEDEX. I live in Uptown Charlotte, NC. I had a small item delivered that I purchased on Bay that cost over $100 so I paid for USPS insurance. The item could have fit in my mailbox and in the an empty box that was available that can only be accessed with a key. USPS claims they left the package on my front porch; however, I never received it. It may have been stolen, it may have been delivered to a different address. I do not know, but USPS claims the package was delivered and they are refusing to pay the insurance claim. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!! read more

Secondly, I accidentally put the address in the wrong spot and she said I have to take the package home to put paper and tape over it because they don't supply that for us or purchase a priority label which started at $10. Drive or walk the mail to your final destination instead of experiencing this slow miserable death that is the waiting time, poor interpersonal communication skills and general disregard for customer interaction. I waited for 10 minutes to pick up a package and when I finally got to the ONE employee working she said I was waiting in the long line (there was only one line). She said I was supposed to be waiting by a blue door for package pickup? And then proceeded to make me wait an additional 10 minutes. These people been calling me each day since Monday about a package that was supposed to be delivered to me but was sent to another location! EVERY DAY FOR 6 DAYS STRAIGHT I WAS GETTING A CALL EVERY OTHER DAY FROM 2 different women with no updates.... these people were literally calling me for NOTHING when my item has been sitting in the same location since 12/3... (note today is 12/12). So yesterday I was told that the case was closed and that they'll send it to the correct address .. low and behold I receive a call TODAY (SATURDAY 12/12 8:30am) with the same mess... actually different mess because I was being given an entire new runaround when I already spoke with the "manager" the previous day . I respectfully told her that I've been getting calls after calls and that you guys should be calling the people who have the package and not me .. I mean it's been a FULL WEEK and this lady woke me up out my sleep just to say my package wasn't going to be delivered. She was acting like I owed HER, when I paid for a $20 service and didn't get it!! This lady literally hung up in my face bc she wanted to tell me how she was helping but overlooking the fact that I been talking to folks everyday.. She hung up and I got so furious but THEY BEEN CALLING ME, WHAT GIVES YOU THAT RIGHT ... so I nicely took me behind down there & guess what... nobody came to the front .. and when they finally did.. it was the RACIST WHITE BOSS MAKING THREATS ABOUT IT BEING FEDERAL PROPERTY VS HIM ACTUALLY FIGURING OUT THE ISSUE!! I was honestly a little worried to come to this location to send off a Poshmark after reading reviews of customer service, but Danny (the nicest human ever) was amazing! It took 16 days for one (1) simple letter sized envelope with 1 sheet of paper and 1 card to make it from Uptown Charlotte to Louisiana. Then when my parent received said envelope - it wasn't post marked for Wed. October 5th when it should have been picked up INSTEAD it was stamped 10/13/16. I've reported the route issues repeatedly but this is the most egregious. I'm now reaching out to the State and Federal Senators because let's just be real... The US mail has so many protections because even the original statesmen agreed (Federalist and Anit-Federalist) the mail was scared to the integrity of the people. Their business, intent, purpose of being knowledgeable/educated on the nation's business has to be protected. The ladies working the counter are diligent employees you can readily tell that they have been with the organization for some time. The pickup window folks including a Supervisor will try to explain away most things with a smile and general polite demeanor. But again, I should be able to rely on the mail service. Now, if I make my way to the USPS office and pay for priority mail then it gets where it needs to go within a timely fashion so it's clear the carrier on this route is at issue. I've been told my carrier retired and they've had a hard time staffing this route. But it's been 19 months and now we're looking at 1 carrier that's been consistently working this route for at least 6-8 months yet here we are with mail being late, oh and somethings not placed in the box at all which was weird and DID I mention.... Placed the mail on hold five days before leaving and guess what?? I returned to all my mail, well all the mail that I was afforded, being shoved in the box. After 2 weekends of "junk mail" you could tell the carrier decided I wasn't getting anymore of those. At this point, I'm nervous when will I ever get what I am accustomed to via the USPS. Saturday Hours: 10am - 12pm. Not too busy either. Also, you can only use the priority boxes AND tape for USPS Priority boxes and envelopes or packages you are sending via priority mail. They're pretty adamant about it too. If you don't come with everything packed with a label affixed on it, they will kindly direct you to the mailing items they have for sale. Large envelopes run around $2 and a small box is around $5. I was lucky enough to be allowed to use their plain masking tape for the label. The joys of weekend errands. read more

I've experienced better isn't exactly true. The USPS is crippling. I walk in here knowing that this is the USPS and I'm there to beg for service. My main gripe isn't the station here but the mail carriers that serve my building are just horrible and when I have a larger than normal package (hehe) they leave the slip and then I have to trek down to this station to get it. When I get there it's always a treasure hunt as to if you will get your intended mail or someone elses. Last time I was there they were just about to give me someone else's mail from their vault and continued to tell me that it was worth over $500. Jeeze. Tis' the season to be mailing. To my surprise, the post office wasn't as busy as I thought it would be mid-December on a Friday afternoon during lunch time. As this office services uptown, it is usually pretty busy, but that's to be expected. When I arrived the line only had about 5 people ahead of me. They quickly opened up additional cashiers to help. I was trying to mail my grandparents their birthday and Christmas cards and I always send gift cards so I had questions whether to do priority, get insurance, ask for a signature, etc. My cashier, Danny, was very pleasant. He was able to answer my questions and give suggestions on which options to use. I settled on priority due to price and the ability to track. Turns out mail insurance only covers replacement fees of gift cards and not their value. I walked from work since I'm in the government district but there is ample parking at this location along with drop-off boxes. read more

I have been to this specific location several times and there has been a very long line every time that I have stopped in. There generally are not a ton of people there but usually only 1 or 2 people working the counter out of multiple checkout counters, causing the line to back-up. I recently went to the Passport office. Before I even entered I was greeted with "DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT?" I stated no, I was looking for information, and the woman returned my question with "DO YOU HAVE AN APPOINTMENT?" She continued to converse to her co-worker (the office was empty) and I asked which form I needed. With a condescending answer she informed me of the form and I thanked her, obviously I was interrupting her needed conversation. And she relied "Mmmmhmm. Sometimes I feel as if there aren't enough post offices in the QC...then I remember I need to mail only 5 or 6 things each year. Regardless, this is one of the closer locations to me, so I've been here many a time. Support local, ship stuff. Pros: Pretty friendly employees and fairly efficient. If I know exactly what I need, I'm usually in and out within ten minutes. They also offer plenty of packing supplies, stamp, automated postal counter, P.O. boxes etc. Cons: The passport line can be loooooong - so plan accordingly. Parking can also be a bear, so avoid the law of the invariable right and head to the left side parking lot. For convenience and gettin' your affordable ship on, this is a solid post office. read more

This building was cursed with the architecture of the 80s and the cleanliness of the 30s, but inside some modern renovations have overcome. The office is unexpectedly bright, and bustling with activity. I wouldn't say that it is bustling with efficiency, but there is definitely some bustling going on. Most recently I bustled in on a particularly bustly morning and bustled about my confused bustle-business until a helpful post office worked got me on the straight and narrow road of priority mail. Having a few packages to mail & this being the closet post office to me I headed over around 11 to miss any lunch crowds. There were only a few other customers there, but I noticed there was only one person working at the counter. As I got my packages organized there was a lack of slips, packages, etc. so I headed to the line, hoping the counter girl could assist with what I needed. After waiting almost 30 minutes in the line, she was very rude and was unaware they were out of certain boxes and told me I should go to another location. I have desperately tried to resolve a delivery issue for the past two days before the package I sent is sent back to me. I have called the USPS in Charlotte North Carolina branch (zip code 28204) more than 9 times and FINALLY got someone on the phone this morning. She informed me that my package was being sent back already. I called the USPS 800 number yesterday to try to get some help. The CS rep on the phone repeated the address back to me perfectly. I don't understand why it has been marked as undeliverable twice. He took my number and said he would call me back. This situation could have been avoided if MY PHONE CALLS HAD BEEN ANSWERED! I can see why the reviews of this location are less than 3 stars on multiple websites. Now that the package is being returned to me because I get no help from customer service and no help from the people who actually work in the store I have to refund a product that I sold, due to not only HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service, but also to a superiorly awful standard of job performance by USPS. Every time I come here it takes forever no matter how short the line is. If you have a pink slip and are required to pick your package up here then cancel your plans for the day. Just this morning I waited over 25 minutes to pick up a package. I would have left but they took my package slip hostage. Customer service, professionalism, wait time, etc all terrible. I think I've had one pleasant experience at this PO. The last 3 months I have had to go retrieve every single one of my packages because they failed to deliver it to my mail box, a parcel or the door all while our leasing office is open so they do have access to get to the door. We have 2 mailboxes one for letters and one for packages. I paid to have a package sent to WA. I was told it was insured for $50 and I would also get an email with the tracking info. The email never came. The package was never delivered and got sent back to me damaged and repacked. Luckily everything was entact with very minimal damage so I wasn't that upset. Just wanted the refund for the package. I was on hold with customer service for 2 hours. While the rep was incredibly nice she couldn't help and told me to go back to the PO. I took the box to the PO and she laughed and said 'idk what you want me to do go online' tried that it didn't work they told me again to go back to the PO and get the correct number for my area. I again encounter the same rude employee who seemed as though I was a bother to her. She huffed and puffed and went to get the number and read it off so fast I couldn't write it down I asked her to repeat it and she was disgruntled.
