I've been going to this USPS regularly for a few months and every time I've had a great experience. Last time I had to send 20+ packages and the clerks were so helpful and patient with me. They were great and let me borrow the trolly to bring in all my packages. Today I sent a package and Sean was so helpful and wonderful! There is ample space in this location to pack your items and they have a good card and packaging selection. The parking lot is large too! read more

I dropped off a package here containing a pair of Louboutin boots and I don't say this lightly but one of those grumpy fucks stole them. They sent me on this wild goose chase telling me my package was seized for "random sampling" by the postal inspector and when I was able to speak to someone at the postal inspectors office (which took a full day and was only successful because somehow I lucked out and spoke to a man at the county building who was friends with someone at the inspectors office) they told me that not only do they not have the package but that is simply not something they do. The action code on the print out is not a code used by usps. Basically they straight up lied and made this whole absurd story up and nobody seems to give a shit. Just do yourselves a favor and use fedex. read more

This post office location has alot of negative reviews. It is a shame because I had a quick and smooth experience here when I arrived for the first time (on Monday - 11 June 2018). I came here at noon and it was already a but busy inside. I waited in line for about 5 minutes and I was served. I went up to post my mail. It took about 2 minutes and I was done. The woman who helped me was nice. I used a priority mail envelope so I got a tracking number. I contacted my friend about 2 days later and she had received my package. So everything went smoothly. When you first enter the post office, on the left-hand side, you will see some packaging materials such as envelopes and mail labels. I was able to use a priority mail envelope (for a fee) to put my document inside. I noticed a self-service station, P.O. boxes that can be used, and a copy machine. Passport services are also offered here but those are by appointment only. This is a large post office so I'm sure anything you need is here. The lady who "tried" to help me was so incredibly rude I could barely talk to her. I asked her a simple question about the format of my package and her response was shockingly condescending with no actual response tied to it. She obviously hates her job but that is no reason to express that onto customers. Forcefully handed over my receipt without saying "thank you" after I reluctantly turned in my envelope. Some of the questions and demands customers have when I am in there make me want to scream so I can't imagine what these employees hear hourly. At this post office, agents at the counter consistently complain to customers who have more than 2 or 3 packages to be scanned. What other organization on Earth chastises its own customers for buying their services, then requires taxpayers to cover the billions in losses caused by an inept workforce? I visit this location frequently and I can see why some people may get frustrated. Lines are always close to the door, staff behind the desk respond with scripted lines and are often low on patience, and it can be confusing to understand how to send something or what's required without an explanation. That being said, I almost always have great interactions here. After many a time waiting in long lines, I've had a lot of time to observe the work each clerk does. There are a lot of people who are plain rude or disrespectful, don't have what they need to do why they need to do and they take it out on the clerk, or they just lack patience to be there and wait their turn. Whenever I find myself getting frustrated while I wait I take an extra minute to remember my patience and kindness and I have almost always had a great experience. We all have to remember these clerks have to deal with 100s of people a day. The nicer we as customers are, the easier their day is, too. This facility has ample materials available from free priority mail packaging, gift cards, greeting cards, tape and a variety of mailing materials available for purchase, stamps, and passport services. Come prepared and patient and you'll have a good experience. I've never experienced this facility as "dirty" like other reviews. Ample parking, large facility. It's everything you need in a post office. If you're visiting, keep in mind it's not often slow. You're probably going to be here at least a solid ten minutes. read more

Mm, I have mixed feelings about this location. I'm in here pretty frequently because adulting is a thing but my experiences are all over the place. Sometimes the lines are really long, other times it moves efficiently. Often times I get a friendly clerk but that's not a given. There's an abundance of parking and it's conveniently located but there's limited workspace inside if you need to put together package. Greater consistency would be nice but I should also give credit for the fact that I've never had an issue with sending or receiving mail, or getting the stamps and other items I need. read more

I live equal distance from the Rocky River branch on Hilliard and the Lakewood Branch on Warren. The branches appear to be similarly staffed yet the Rocky River branch has only a fraction of the traffic with small wait times and the Lakewood P.O. is almost always backed up to the door. Nothing to say here. You know you spend an arm and leg for a post office box, because someone in the neighborhood likes to steal packages and you expect the post office to do the right thing. Notification that packages are in lockers or in your post office box and you get there nothing. No key, no notification, nothing. I don't know how many times I've gone to the post office because I got notification that my packages are either in a locker or in my po box and they were not. So really this is tiring . read more

They have no record of a package I dropped off here. Went back to speak to them, the lady behind the counter in the wig is a total piece of work with a stereotypical bad postal worker attitude. If I could leave negative stars I would. It's right before Christmas, lots of people are shipping packages...so you would think that they would have more than 2 people working. WRONG. 16 people in front of me and 2 workers. Every time I come here the employees are rude. If you hate your job so much find a new one. They all have resting bitch face. Horrible people! Lady on the phone (we are internet sellers) was absolutely rude! She sets the phone down, starts talking about me and laughing with people in the background! I couldn't believe it. Always a line, always slow, 1-2 people working the counter, always a long line. The lobby is a wreck, dirty and disorganized. The only redeeming quality is they have the self serve kiosk. All post office location should have at least 2 of these. Helps to avoid the lines and the poor attitudes across the counter. read more

Really nothing good to say except they occasionally get my mail delivered. You can usually count on them losing mail, like the time I mailed a tax form the the Lakewood tax dept with my SSN on the form. It never showed up. Or delivering someone else's mail. That usually happens at least once a week. Our mail also ends up in other mailboxes as I've had people drop it off once in a while. I've also put my mail on hold when going on vacation just to have the mailman deliver it, as seen through my Ring video. I had to then call them from out of the country so they would go back and pick it up just to have it delivered again the next day. Or the time I called to ask about a package delivery to be hung up on before I could say 4 words. After calling back and explaining to the lady that answered that I had a question about a package, I was put on hold for 15+ minutes before I finally hung up. I know it's a government job but they are the worst. We don't trust them anymore and go to a different city anytime we have to mail anything or buy anything from the post office. Kenton (the guy behind the counter) refuses to take packages for arbitrary reasons to make himself feel important , but really he is in violation of USPS guidelines. I run an online business and this arrogant ignorant individual has cost me more time and money than I can add up. He also called my 12 year old a "low class liar" because he tried refusing my package for the wrong date and she pointed out that it was actually the current date (he took the package but don't call my child names, especially when they know how to do your job better than you!) other employees have a history of being rude as well. read more

Horrible. The picture is hilarious to me because you will NEVER see a line this short at this post office! Enormously long lines and you will wait forever only to encounter a very rude, uncaring individual who is not at all interested in helping you. You will, however, see plenty of frustrated people waiting, getting the run-around, and generally being annoyed, so at least when you feel this way too (inevitable) you won't be alone. Avoid at all costs, particularly if it's a busy time of day (rush hour) or year (Christmas). I'm updated this review purely based on the service I received this morning! Yep! I was lucky enough to get fast, friendly service one of the busiest mailing weeks of the year (tax season) at 10AM! We're talking no line, no fuss, and smiles! I actually had a conversation with the lady who was helping me. There were still only two people up front this AM, but it was slow anyways. While I think they should definitely up their staff during busy hours, I think my past experience may have been just a bad day for this location. read more

At times it can be very busy and at times it has customers who haven't even tried to learn how to post items. But almost always you will find yourself confronted with two of the "regular" counter employees. One can be nice or nasty. It depends on how her day is going. The other is always robot-like and critical of whatever you ask or have done. If you don't mind a drive....go elsewhere. read more

I frequently visit this office for business purposes & the ladies are pretty nice but this new man they have behind the counter is absolutely, ridiculously, without a doubt the worst customer service clerk I have EVER had the displeasure to encounter! In the time I spent in line he argued with an 80\90 year old couple about her mask not being on her nose, after he proceeded to act like (she crawled over the counter and lick his face). Than a teen & her dad approached the counter to mail a package( both had masks on) & he started freaking out because their were 2 people near the counter at the same time.This man is a grown adult serving the public & he's representing the USPS! I stepped out of line and went to UPS. This man should NOT be at a counter with customers & if I do encounter him again I will definitely wait for another clerk. read more

I absolutely hate giving bad reviews because I feel like a place needs more than one visit to redeem itself. I need to go a handful of times for me to fully give my honest opinion, but I've been to this location a lot and every time it's been terrible. Maybe there's someone that's nice that works here. However, I've only ever been served by a man (I'll refrain from using his name... we'll call him K) who seems to have absolutely zero desire to interact with public. He's rude. He chastises customers. He is just an a-hole, honestly. I was hoping my time today would be different, but nope not at all. I had a package pick-up slip and got to the post office at 5. Granted, I would've been there earlier but my slip said a different post office, which I drove to and then was told that the Lakewood employee used the wrong slip and was told "not to do that anymore." Uh, ok, well thanks for wasting 45 mins of my day. NBD that's not what this review is about. It's about K and the crap attitude he has towards everyone. There were probably 8 people in front of me at 5:00 and I heard him talk to at least half of them like they were children. Here's a scenario of one such encounter that really irritated me: K: "Can I help who's next?" Older man walks up to counter with something in an envelope he obviously wanted to mail. Man: "I'd like to ship this to blah blah (I didn't actually hear where, nor do I care), with no signature or insurance. Nothing fancy. Just needs to get there by Friday." K: "OK sir well I need the zip code of where you're sending it. Write that down on the pin pad" Man writes zip code K: "Your options are either overnight or guaranteed 2-3 night delivery" Man: "Well I don't need it that fast, what is the cheapest?" K: "Sir I heard what you wanted but these are the only options so which do you want?" Man: "I don't need it overnight" K: "OK so then the 2-3 night delivery. Do you need stamps or anything else?" Man: "I'll take a book of stamps too" K: "ok do you want the 49¢ stamps or postcard stamps? We also have our 23¢ (I don't know the exact $ amount) stamps. Which one do you want?" Man: "I just want a regular book of stamps" K: "OK then sir that's the 49¢ stamps so if that's what you actually want then I'll grab them. Is that what you actually want?" Man: "yes fine that's fine." Pays and walks away grumbling. I feel like this is probably a normal encounter on any given day at the post office. It's just the attitude of this man and the way he talks to customers. Maybe you just had to be there. Actually....don't do that. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

It's insane how rude one of the employees is here. It's almost become an inside joke with my household, because we've all had terrible experiences with her. Most recently, she laughed at me when I explained to her that I had to send my passport ASAP, despite my knowing that the agency isn't handling expedites. I told her I still had to get it there ASAP because my overseas wedding could come down to a matter of days, and she continued to talk over me and laugh. This is by far the most horrible service I've ever experienced!!! Every employee was completely rude! I spoke to someone on the phone to verify a package to pick up and was told I could come before close to get it. When I got there there were two women behind the desk, the one that called me up yelled, "move over there!" When I told her why I was there. After taking 20 minutes to find my package she came up and said, "well it would've been nice to know we were looking for a male's name!" As I had it sent to my boyfriends house...though I had already given another woman the name the package was in!!! Then she proceeds to tell me I can't take the package because it's not in my name though I had the email showing I ordered it and has my ID and I had the tracking number, she just looked at me like I was stupid. I have had both positive and negative experiences here. Positive: There are 2 staff there that are usually courteous, clear and quite helpful. Negative: There is 1 staff member that is impatient and determined to tell you you've done something wrong. I try to stay clear of him, but life happens, and I truly believe he must not really have been treated kindly as a child, so I have some compassion, but I digress... Negative: It is very difficult to read the small print signs that tell you how much a service is above the counter; it's miniscule. Positive: They usually have a good supply of boxes and envelopes and packing material. I go there because the Lorain branch is tiny and has NO place to pack things, so Lakewood does have that feature. Negative: I wish this location would stay open later than 2pm on a Saturday; people who work during the week need a Saturday option that is open longer. Overall, I wish the USPS would update and train their staff in such a way that the public isn't treated unkindly. read more

I feel like the phrase "It is what it is" developed in conversations about the post office. I've always had my expectations met at this post office, the only one in Lakewood. It makes sense that there is only one post office location in a city as geographically small as Lakewood. However, when you consider there are about 60,000 people living in Lakewood, you start to see how the parking lot and lines could get long. Nevertheless, anytime I've seen lines inside, and that is most times I stop by, all counters, or all but one counter, are open. The line moves faster than you'd expect, and the workers are nice. Mostly I'm writing this review to warn anyone who needs to mail a package that they might want to stop by a neighboring suburb's locations if it is on your way. The lines may be shorter.-0 read more
