The Canyon Branch is a two story library that opened on January 11, 2025 behind the amphitheater of the Canyon Town Center. It covers 33,000 square feet offering a flexible environment designed for enrichment and collaboration. The beautifully designed library has over 130,000 lendable items, including books, DVDs and digital media. There are also desktop computers, printing, scanning and free Wi-Fi and patrons can borrow laptops. There is also a large meeting room, smaller conference and study spaces, two themed areas for children and teens, and a CreationStation and Makerspace for exploring digital and traditional arts. Additional amenities include self check out, a drive-up service window, a separate drive-up book drop, and an outdoor plaza with solar-powered lighting. It also has a recording studio similar to the one at the main library in West Palm Beach. I love all of the cozy seating spaces set up throughout the library for people to read, learn, and engage. This state of the library is a wonderful resource to connect the community. One of the most unique features of the library are the six columns that hold up the canopy at the entrance to the building, They are the canvas for Opening Minds, an art installation Brad J. Goldberg, who was selected from a pool of more than 70 professional artists from all over the world. Each of the columns is uniquely etched with book titles, music, quotes, and streams of binary code to symbolize the role of libraries in both the physical and digital realms. These pillars represent the many ways knowledge is shared, preserved, and celebrated. The six columns have more than 400 contributions, in 13 languages to reflect the wide range of cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds that Make up the community. I get that no one really has any incentive to write a review for something like this but lets ask ourselves this question: I live in Ft. Lauderdale and work in Boca Raton so I have to take one of them back and forth. HAS ANYONE TRIED TO FIGHT THE TRAFFIC ON I-95 LATELY? It is not even quite in season yet and it has been a miserable time in the last 3 months on 95. I have seen more accidents, huge delays and people get on 95 and think they are invincible. Next are the helmetless motorcycle drivers going 75 miles per hour between the lanes of traffic, just inches away from my side view mirror. So sick of I 95 and no wonder they call it the worst Interstate in the country. Thus, THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE!!! Once you get on it, it is smooth sailing 90 percent of the time. People complain about having to pay tolls, but the tolls pay for the upkeep of all the new detours to 595 express lanes, the upkeep of the road and a number of other things. And we really aren't paying any tolls. There is a Sunpass that deducts money off your debit and credit card, so you don't even know your paying tolls. LOL. And no more finding change or money laying around in your car to get by. Here is the catch about the Boca Raton toll Plaza. You need to know the perfect time to drive down Glades Rd. to avoid a lot of traffic there before the Turnpike entrance. Thus, if possible make sure you are on Glades between 5:00-5:10 pm. if possible. It gets busy after that time. Sometimes we all get tired after work before we go home, so conveniently there is that Starbucks on that turn right before the Turnpike entrance. Grab a coffee , swing out again and stay on your right and you are on your way. Yeah,, so when you are on I-95 then switch your route to the Turnpike, now that is HUGE!!! Huge saving in time and NO MORE bumper to bumper traffic home. I am going to be so sorry that I wrote this because if it causes more people to take the TURNPIKE, then we could have another I-95. Safe South Florida travels!!!

The moment I leave the Turnpike, I feel a sense of longing, as though I have left my home. Everyone deserves to experience the Florida Turnpike.
