Needed mail some items and this post office was in route between my locations. It's not my regular post office so this was my first time in. Like many post offices in this part of GA, the building is dated. They have a self-service machine in the lobby if you'd like to bypass the line. I went inside to be helped by someone. There was no clear line and people were just standing wherever. Once I started asking people if they were "in line" they started moving to form something that resembled a line and indicated who was in which position--helpful. The worker who I got was a little dry/brash on initial interaction. I complimented her hair and that lightened the mood. Rather than asking me to make selections at certain steps, she hurried me through the process by just instructing me what to push on the screen/pad, and asking me an overarching question: "do you want to send these the least expensive way?" And then she just clicked thru until it was time for me to pay. Overall, it was a quick enough experience. They could likely use more workers. I signed up for USPS informed delivery so USPS will let me know ahead what mails are out for delivery Today. 50% I might get my mail and the other 50% delivered my mail to someone else. Last month my medication prescription delivered to other house but not me. A few days ago, my property tax mail also delivered to someone else. I hope mail person can read mail to be delivered mail. Jonesboro post office need to do better. Yesterday 1 May 2024, I had 8 pieces of mail delivered to me in error. Some were not to homes within my community or area. It seems the mail was never sorted by area codes or communities the carrier. The mail was just put in any mailbox which happened to be available at that location and time. Well sending my mail to Loganville Georgia, I live in Jonesboro. Paying for mailbox and my mail goes to Loganville, now I got make sure nobody uses my information and my kids. Done corrected this problem 3 times. Damn , if I stand in line and for 45 minutes on three different times yo correct this issue. Super late with deliveries and most of the time does not deliver the package even if we are home or there is room in the mail box so I have to make sure someone is home when my packages say out for delivery so they can go and get the mail and ask for the package. One time they brought it back to the post office and they couldn't find it so we called corporate and guess what? They found it because we said it seems like the post lady must have stole it and they wanted to make sure to cover their ass. So I made sure someone was here every time since that day. read more

Can I give no stars. Packages on ground and on top of mailbox on the curb. What's going on?

I am unfortunate enough to be in the area that is served by the Jonesboro post office. Normally, it is a great post office. And normally, the carrier gives me my mail. I have also had the misfortune of Clayton County Water putting up a sewer by-pass in front of my mailbox. The regular carrier will give me my mail when I am out there, and if I miss being out there, she will put it in my mailbox. The subs will not leave the mail at all--and today, the carrier flat REFUSED to give me my mail, despite the fact that I was standing at the end of my driveway to get it. ABSOLUTE WORST!! GHETTO!! Employees at registers have ZERO customer service and the Manager is apparently ALWAYS BUSY!

Besides not getting our mail until the end of the business day on most days, the Carrier is always too lazy to get out of the truck to walk up 5 small stairs to deliver packages. She always put a Missed Delivery tag in the mailbox without even bothering to bring it to the door. I complained about it several times but nothing changes. We put a hold on the mail quite often. It almost never gets delivered on time. Not this time either. Grrrrrrrrrr. We will have to wait two more days since today is Sunday. You know....they have one job to do. Deliver mail. And, it's really a tough job for them. read more

Apparently 0 stars is not an option. This facility is completely inept at handling the "hold mail" process. My mail has been delivered in the middle of the hold mail week with the printout that posts the delivery date as the following Saturday. The past two times I have had my mail held it has been lost. This last time a paycheck and a tag decal were lost. Apparently no one there suffers any consequences and I was pretty much told that I had no recourse. The carrier will be "talked to" but I am not sure this will make any improvements. Completely frustrated and disgusted with this facility! I have my mail held while on trips for security purposes. I would be better off just letting it accumulate in the box and taking a chance on it being stolen! read more

Not only did these clowns lose my package but they don't deliver your mail until 6:30 at night. Then the mail woman will refuse to give you your mail because its too dark for her to see. If I could give this place a 1/2 star, that would still be too much. read more

We had our mailbox moved from the curb side to our house as both myself and my spouse have difficulty walking down and up our driveway. Now periodically the postal carrier simply does not come up to the house to deliver mail. I was told one time that it was "just a flyer". We have Informed Delivery so we know there is mail. I realize it states coming to the mailbox soon but most days it comes on the date listed. Yesterday, I had something in the box and it was not picked up and the mail was not delivered. They steal your packages!!! It has been going on the last 5 and a half years. You put your mail on hold, and it still comes up missing. No one has done anything to help the situation. The inspector General has been called. The same thing happens. Nothing has been done! I was told that I should pay for a P.O. Box! Also, I was told that I should stop ordering things! When you call in about your mail to discuss the issues, they are mad at you. They are rude, disrespectful, they curse you out, scream at you and are aggressive, talk over you and you can't get anything done with them. All they do is lie, take up for each other, hang up on you, then take the phone off the hook! I don't know how this location is still open doing business. If you go on the post office website, my family isn't the only ones complaining about lazy service and packages being stolen. We put our mail on hold and saw the carrier still delivering. New relief/alternate driver from out of state for months now. Still delivers 2-3 hours later than normal driver. Have noticed a drop in the mail we receive when alternate drives too. Been looking for a very important medical record sent from next zip code to west for one week now. read more

This is crazy I order my products for my health purposes, one out of the two packages gets delivered but not the other my medical insurance couldn't cover it and I came out of pocket almost 200.00 worth and the leave my package at the door like as if in this day and age people wouldn't steal it... Ridiculous service they are so rude and arrogant on the phone they talk unprofessionally towards you like your their children... Female supervisor and make supervisor who worked on 3/5/2016 are unknowledgeable about the situation because they are going by what a computer says as if there was real GPS tracking device in the package that would be very different. The male supervisor explains that they do not take responsibility once it's delivered, but how could you not take the package back with you to the postal service if the person isn't home to receive the package i'm so disappointed in the service I honestly don't want to give not even a 1 as a rating in all reality they deserve a big fat 0!
