I visited on July 25,2025. I went mid morning and there was no waiting. I have had some confusion about a recent change of address. There was one man who went to great lengths to research the issues, find out what all had been submitted, what the Postal Service had in hand. It was extremely helpful and put my mind at ease. This is the worst post office I have ever been to. The employees at the window, processing passports, and sorting mail are rude and useless. Every encounter I have had with an employee at this location has been frustrating and unpleasant and I have witnessed these same employees become downright hostile with customers. For some reason this is the only USPS location in Albuquerque that does not have to answer phone calls. I've had to call other USPS locations in Albuquerque to help me reach someone at this main location. Nothing gets resolved here. If there is an issue with you mail, good luck! "It's your problem, not mine" is the attitude you'll get from any employee you ask for help. This location has been an issue for a long time and nothing has been done to improve anything. There is no standard of service and no accountability. I typically support funding the USPS but this location is a great argument for privatization. It makes me angry that tax dollars are being wasted on such a poorly run joke of a facility. THIS POST OFFICE IS BACK TO REFUSING TO DELIVER PARCELS AND THEN LYING ABOUT IT AND CLAIMING THAT THEY ATTEMPTED DELIVERY! FOR 17 YEARS, ON AND OFF, this has been going on. Sometimes they say I was not home. Sometimes they claim that access to my apartment was impeded by a lock or gate or some such NONSENSE. ALL OF OUR APARTMENTS ARE ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE: My apartment is on the ground floor not far from the post office boxes and just a few feet from an asphalt parking spot they can use when delivering parcels to me. We also have parcel lockers on the property. ALL of the apartments in this complex are open to the street. We do not have a gate or a locked building or anything else to impede anyone from coming in here and knocking on anyone's door. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE, ON AND OFF, FOR 17 YEARS. I WAS HOME ALL DAY: I have been sitting next to my apartment door all day, in the recliner where I mostly "live," and no one has come to my door. There is NO notice on my door and there is NO notice in or on my mailbox, (inside of which is a prominent note that clearly says I am a disabled person who cannot go to the post office and stand in line.) BUT when I went online to try and chase down my package, I was notified that "The post office attempted to deliver your UPS SurePost package and left a delivery notice with instructions." this is a lie. I believe that the REASON they lie is because they are required by postal regulations to try at least once to deliver the parcel. They KNOW that they are violating postal codes and/or laws by refusing to deliver our packages, so they lie in an effort to avoid getting in trouble. / WE DO HAVE a whole bunch of parcel lockers of varying sizes, most of which are QUITE BIG. They could arrange to put our parcels in those lockers when a delivery occurs on the weekend, but they have chosen not to give keys to the post boxes to the carriers who deliver on Sundays. They have CHOSEN this method. / WHY on earth the post office bid for the weekend deliveries baffles me. They act like they don't have the manpower to do the job they ASKED FOR. The delivery policies of my local post office favor wealthy people who can afford to buy houses and ABLE-BODIED people who can stand in line at the post office during business hours in order to get their parcels. / The senior community, the disabled community, and the low-income community are just as much "American" as people who can afford to rent or buy houses, rather than apartments. We pay the same amount of money for our postage as those people do and we should get the same service and, In fact, disabled people should be given reasonable accommodation so that their access can be FUNCTIONALLY the same as an able-bodied person's. / What several carriers have told me, over the years, as they are on their way out to take a different route, is that the POLICY of this particular post office location is that when they have a new person or a fill-in driver or delivery on a Sunday, they DO NOT ATTEMPT SERVICE OF PARCELS TO OUR LOCATION. They deliver to HOUSES in our area...but not us. / Since we have a "fill-in" carrier for at least one day out of every week, plus whenever our regular carrier is ill or on vacation, this happens A LOT and is unacceptable. Very occasionally, I will receive a parcel on Sunday. I am assuming that a person who knows the route was making the deliveries that day. / One of the fill-in drivers told me, shockingly, "we have better things to do than to look for your apartment," which I rather think is their entire job. / THE ONLY EXCEPTIONS: Our former regular carrier, I think her name is Barbara, was FABULOUS! Professional, caring, considerate, SPOT ON. Dominic, our CURRENT regular carrier, is a GEM. When he is on duty, he bends over backwards to give us the very best of his efforts. If I was reviewing HIM ALONE, I would give 5 stars. I just wish everyone at the post office was like him. / But with regard to this issue of refusing to deliver to us and LYING about it, I do not have the word-space or expertise to propose a solution. I will say that I have lobbied the local post office MANY TIMES to make a correction to this situation, and it is now time to approach the NM Attorney General or some other agency that has some oversight or influence. Perhaps my government representative needs to get involved. I will have to find out / FINALLY - I feel sad that this is happening again. There was a new manager at this location who was really spot on and who actually CALLED me after the last issue at this location, and I wonder if he has gone elsewhere, since this is happening again. So why I wrote before is still true but I wanted to add a little update. I mail a Christmas card to my sister from this post office. She lives about a few miles away from me but it's tradition. You can't review the entire US Postal service so I had to choose. But it doesn't matter anyway because just like any other government entity, they have ZERO integrity. They advertise priority mail service but don't guarantee the delivery time unless you pay for express. The don't care and don't have any problem with their complete lack of customer service and care. If you need to ship anything that can be done by another shipping service, do it because USPS is not worth it. read more

I went this morning to drop off mail and buy stamps. I was called by Rita and I was said, I would like to drop this off and..." Without finishing my sentence she interrupted and said , "Next time use the drop off boxes out front." I said I also needed stamps but either way isn't it your job to take my mail if I bring it in. She gave mena nasty look and her co worker butted in about people coming in with bad attitude. They refused to give me a number to a manager. With the poor PR the post office has they don't need rude and lazy employees. read more

Service here is very slow and the staff is less than friendly. They only have two windows staffed all the time and the line usually is going out to the lobby. If all you need is stamps there is no machine that you could use in this location. read more

Have reviewed them before and will review them again. They have changed their closing time from 6pm to 5:30pm and the service is almost always TERRIBLE. They perform like many government workers. They need someone to put them on a performance based pay system and light a fire under their A@@. I actually went in their the other day and things were slow, so slow, two of the clerks were bored. I suggested they grab a can of red paint and go out in front and paint the no parking zone as it hasn't seen fresh paint since Benjamin Moore was invented, but then I would expect them to say it wasn't their job, but even their job isn't normally their job, or at least what they do. Many years ago I worked at a USPS Bulk Mail center, and I mean WORKED. We were busy and had to work efficiently but that can't be said for this particular branch. The only positive thing I can say is they have a good assortment of Priority Mail boxes, but then I have my own supply and print my postage at home. I am amazed more people don't print their own postage and avoid the line. read more

I went to this U.S. Post Office location to get a replacement/adult passport for my 18 year old son. The passport office is open from 2:00-4:30 weekday afternoons to process applications without an appointment. I left work at 4:00 and rushed over to the post office. My son was waiting for me in the parking lot and we dashed inside and got in line behind another man; it was 4:20 p.m. so we were confident that even though it was late in the day, we had made it in time. I had completely filled out the passport application form the night before and had all my paperwork, my son's old passport, his birth certificate and I.D. all ready for the agent. At 4:28 one of the agents looks up at us through the window and announces that they close at 4:30. I held up our paperwork and said "no problem, we are ready to go". The agent asked me to repeat myself twice more and I did. He then said "I won't be able to assist you today. You'll have to come back tomorrow." I was disappointed and annoyed to be told this after waiting patiently in line. He never said anything to us before like "I'm sorry folks, since I have this large family of five to assist I don't think I'll be able to get to you today." He ignored us until it was nearly closing time. I asked him "does it make any difference that we were in line before 4:30?" and he rudely replied "nope, doesn't make any difference at all. Come back tomorrow." I feel like this postal employee needs to be trained in two important areas: empathy for others and polite, business-like manners. He seemed to have neither one at the point of our visit and we left the post office feeling like we had wasted a lot of time and effort preparing in advance and rushing over there to be treated so poorly. read more

Me and my family went in today to get our passports. We waited for about 10 minutes. The desk worker called us forward since we had an appointment, rather than getting the people that were ahead of us in line. My mom laid out our document and pictures. The man working asks me,"Are you wearing high waisted jeans". I responded, "Yes I am?". He then began saying that high waisted jeans looked ugly on any woman that prefers them over low cut jeans and he doesn't understand exactly why women wear them, because to him it makes women look like an old grandma. 1.Why was he looking at what I was wearing??. 2.Is this the type of customer service that they allow? I went off to the side as my mom began finishing the payments and paperwork. I overhear my mom helping him put aside each paper by name (3 of us were getting passports). He then stated,"Oh I can read. I have glasses on but believe me I can read. I have a degree." My mom replied,"Oh ok I just wanted to help you." I will NEVER go to this location again. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. The worst customer service ever. There is one particular woman with whom I always seem to have the bad luck in getting to assist me. She is so very rude and seems to love giving people a hard time. Her body language and manner is very tense and pushy. She seems to be a controlling type of person and lets you know it (she even puts signs up that are questionable, and I don't see them posted at other post offices: Like, I can't use my cell phone in line while waiting? Crazy.) I feel like I could be in a prison each time I go in there, and this woman is a prison guard. I get the sense that some of the other employees are afraid of her. The entire experience is always stressful and ridiculous. The entire place inside is filthy and actually looks like it could be a prison. I go there because it's close to my work and we depend on the Post Office for all of our mailings, but I would gladly pay more taxes to provide money to get some of these people some training on decent manners and customer service, and get out of this prison mentality. The WORST customer service. No one knew about the USPS issued form I was inquiring about. Stella at the main desk was completely unprofessional and incompetent. She asked multiple times what the form I was asking about was for but never let me even begin to explain before she would just blurt out that she didn't know what it was and it didn't belong there. Then just walked away from me. The only reason this review is getting a 2 star is because the people in the business mailing area were happy to help me. They also had no clue what form I was referring to but at least they let me educate them and did their best to point me in the right direction. I hope I never have to go to this location again. I have had my PO box for 10years and recently my incoming mail was returned to sender with the notation that this box is not in service and no forwarding address. This has happened to a card sent in May and returned to sender in September, two bills , and another card sent in August.Today my credit card was declined at a local business due to the card company receiving my bill back with the same notation of no one by my name at that PO number and no forwarding address. Had this happened one time I could overlook, but four times to my knowledge, is inexcusable. And I fear this will not be the end of this. read more

Terrible customer service. I came in today during the morning regarding my delivery driver hitting "package delivered" right in front of my house, and then leaving with the package....a total of now 5 missing packages. I have a sound notification for eBay that dings as soon as package is marked as delivered through USPS. The clerk says, "let me go speak with my supervisor"...then I asked if I could beforehand since it was my packages...then she says, "Oh, I can't the supervisor isn't here." Right. She promised the already 3 day late package would be there in the evening, low and behold...it wasn't. The clerk was highly unprofessional and wanted to be rude just because she didn't have the means to deal with what I was asking, and that she lied about a supervisor's presence. This is who USPS hires? For 2 out of the 5 packages, I watched him from my patio doing so. I call customer service, they give me a claimant complaint ID number....go back in the evening today, they refused to check if they received notice of my claim. My USPS driver is stealing my packages and they refuse to do anything about it. I would highly recommend you pay a little extra for a service like DHL or UPS,,,because these people are just not intelligent enough to be handling people's mail. read more

This was a terrible experience from start to finish. We went to fill out a passport renewal and to me that seemed like a nice and easy process. We had all the necessary paperwork, picture was already taken and prepared. All we had to do was drop off the paperwork and pay. ThT was TOO much for the employee to handle as she was rude and not helpful in any way. She was too interested in talking to her coworker in the next window and singing along with the radio than helping us get things done. We were left standing there and every so often told what to do on a piece of paper then right back to her side conversation. She asked if we needed it expedited and we said no but it wasn't a surprise when it came time to pay she tried charging us the expedited fee. When we said that was incorrect she said that she didn't hear us say that.... hmmmm I wonder why... The highlight of my experience was walking out the door. read more

My community mailbox was pried open with a crowbar on Christmas Eve, it's yet to be replaced, so our mail is being held at this location. I went to see if I had anything to pick up and the gentleman was extremely rude. My roommates had mail to pick up, but I did not that day. I understand that if my name isn't on the mail, it can't be given to me, but when I asked when I should expect delivery to start up again, he said, "why are you even worried? None of the mail for that address even had your name on it!" And laughed at me. Extremely rude and unhelpful. No one ever has answers for me about when things will be fixed, and are always so condescending any time I've gone in to do business. read more

USPS is always screwing us over with errors constantly being made. I am grateful for the hard workers there.. But there are a lot that shouldn't even bother getting out of bed. Scanning packages wrong, delaying deliveries past the guaranteed time, delivering packages to the wrong house and mailbox, losing packages, Etc. I am in awe of the reviews here. I ship packages out on a daily basis here and the staff have always been courteous, competent and as quick as can be. I also get to witness all the crazy requests and handholding that happens on the daily and hold the staff in high regard in how they deal with those folks. The postal service can be an easy mark for criticism. Budget cuts, price hikes, and long lines. As the "main" post office, this place should be the best in town. Unfortunately it is often under staffed. With probably only one or two exceptions, all of the employees are very nice and professional. They're working hard under difficult circumstances. Expect very long lines, particularly in the early morning (only 1 slow employee working the counter), and during peak times. Full service, including philatelic center and passport processing. read more

I went in today to ship a box of baby clothes to a pregnant friend. I struggled to carry in my 6 week old in her car seat as well as the box and my wallet/phone. When I get to the counter the woman makes it extremely difficult. She gives me a hard time about a pre-existing label that is a UPS label before I could even explain that I just need help with the label. Package was already boxed up and taped. Before measuring she tells me it's going to be 50 dollars to ship because the label she can make for me is a priority label. I ask if there is a cheaper way to ship a medium sized box full of baby clothes and she says there is. For about 30 dollars but I would have to write the address on the box myself. She made it so difficult. My baby started getting fussy so I just packed up my stuff and left. This woman had no intention of helping me and I got the feeling she was getting a kick out of giving me a hard time. I wish I got her name but I was in a hurry and so upset by it. She is a short Hispanic woman with medium length brown hair and a monotone voice. If I see her next time I will get her name and try to speak to the manager. It's so hard to get out of the house with a newborn as a single mom. I will hope for another window to leave the house and try another location. That woman was a nightmare and had no business working there. Shame on her and all of her fellow employees who witnessed her terrible customer service and didn't say anything. My husband and I needed to get passports, so we filled out our applications online, printed them, and headed to the US Post Office on Broadway in Albuquerque. The line was rather long and there was only one clerk on duty, but she was working at a steady pace while maintaining a friendly demeanor. She did not seem frazzled at all. I was her last customer before her dinner break and she did not rush me. She was very pleasant. My only complaint is that there were no places to sit while we were waiting. I have bad feet (surgeries). They were killing me after standing on the hard cement floor for such a long time. read more

I arrived early to get my passport. And since you have sh*tty hours to get it I have to either miss school and work to get my passport. I can't even go during my lunch break because you are close. We the people are paying for you and you can't even service us. There was one lady who was at the front desk and there was room for 2 other people too work but no they don't care about us and our lives. They ruin our lives. This is the one and only time I could go on this trip but that didn't mean anything too her and she did was yell at us. We had all are paperwork filled out it would have taken two minutes to complete but know that means nothing. And what type of hours are 9-1 and 2-4:30. No one can go on those hours and days. My friend went to this location (1135 Broadway) to mail a couple of letters headed for Las Cruces. She sent them off on January 18th at 8:39 am. It is January 24th and the letters have not been delivered. My friend said that she was not impressed with the location as she is from Guadalajara, MX - no explanation given. I have been calling the phone number listed on the websites for this location and no one picks up the phone to any of the following numbers: (505)346-8051; (505)346-8052; (505) 346-8383. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive mail with a regular 47 cent stamp? read more

I came on a Saturday and experienced the worst service I've ever seen at ANY government facility. The older woman screamed at customers about the closing time even though usps.com lists the time as 3:00 instead of noon; she then refused to help one customer, saying "I'm not looking anything up. I'm not even supposed to be here." Then she walked out and locked customers INSIDE, saying that no one could leave until every person was done. There was a woman with several small children who had to wait for 20 minutes to get out of the building. If I had thought to videotape this extraordinarily unprofessional behavior, that woman would not have a job today. Truly disgraceful. read more
