I have been wanting to get into something like Yoga for a while now. Well recently I had an injury…read moreat work and Yoga was suggested to me for something that may help. I had seen the advertisement Mindpose had where you could get 14 days for $14 and I decided to give it a go. I signed up and went later that night. My first class was absolutely amazing. The instructor was so welcoming and so kind to me. The second class was not as great--I have found that every instructor sometimes has different teaching styles and also different ideas of what the class consists of. With this specific class, we were doing like a two minute plank in a 98 degree room. Whew. I tried another class that was a lot more about meditation. It was interesting but probably my least favorite just because of the several minutes that she had us holding our necks in a position I couldn't do too well because of the injury I still currently have. I understand that we are not being forced to do every move but there is a lot of pressure to follow along and even more when there is not an alternative option being given. We are supposed to be guided and I don't really want to lay there and look like a lazy bones just because I am restricted from doing a certain pose. I loved a bit more of the meditation and I like when they seem to "guide our spirit" by talking to us about life stuff too (like dedicating the class to someone in mind, releasing negative energy). I really love the music and the atmosphere that Mindpose provides for people. The instructors have all been kind and I love the towel we get after. I wish there was a bit more consistency, even the temperature varies 10 degrees and seems a bit unpredictable. The location is very convenient and I enjoy the dim lighting a lot.

My son has been taking from Omega all the way from white belt. He is now a candidate for a black…read morebelt! That's 6 years. We couldn't be happier with his training and the instructors. Omega goes through it's text for a new belt every 3 months. My son has taken a belt text about every 6 months. They take it at your pace. My sons started in the Kid Kickers class (6 yrs to 8yrs) and has gone to the youth martial arts class. The 4-5 yrs old class is the Little Dragon class. The instructors are wonderful in Kid Kickers! And the classes are so good, I'm thinking about taking them. They cover self-defense, Judo, Taekwondo, Hapkido, Jiu Jitsu, and Okinawa Weaponry. My son has learned to never use a weapon in attack, but use it with self-defense. And he knows how to USE a weapon. My son was shy before but now he isn't shy.

However, I will say that the number of calls, texts and voicemails you get from them are quite bothersome. They kept trying to contact me to signup for a membership, and even wanted me to confirm that I'm coming to my class even after signing my waiver. It was a little too much and overwhelming for me. Their price is around $200/month for unlimited Pilates. They also offer other options for payment. One which is $89 for 4 classes. Also, don't forget your initial enrolment fee that costs like $140?! I'd say this is quite expensive as a workout, but if you're really invested in Pilates, it might be worth it!

I used to be a member at an MMA gym where they held kickboxing for fitness classes, and I found Legends class to be so much better. I really liked: - how they focus on different areas of the body each day (upper body the day we went). - the classes are the same all day no matter if you come in the AM or PM, so you never miss out. - different punches are numbered and posted largely on the wall near the punching bags -- so it's easy to follow if the instructor shouts out combos in #s. - Tiffany was out instructor, and she was really attentive, helpful, friendly and motivational. I wish all workout instructors were like her. She knows her stuff. - they teach people how to actually box in the fitness class, so you can aim to spar when they deem you ready. - they model combos after actual fights, and play short video clips for people to watch the big dogs actually do the combos you're about to do. - the upper body focus portion around the ring kicked my butt. Very much needed! - they write out details of the workout on a whiteboard, so you're not guessing what's going to happen next. - Tiffany, Berklee (house manager?), and other class patrons actually talked to my BF and I, congratulating us for getting through the class at the end. Normally fighting gyms are not so welcoming, so this was very much appreciated. FYI -- they do not do kickboxing here, but I was still the most sore I've been in a long, long time. I LOVED this gym. During the summer camp they offer, if your child doesn't bring enough water, they either make you pay for it, refuse the child water, or make them drink from the bathroom sink. (The drinking fountain they have by the bathroom is actually broken, but they don't tell you that when you tour.) They also let employees work on site before they have gotten the fingerprint check back, which is just dangerous, and illegal. The might be skilled in martial arts, but they only thing on their mind now is the money you give them.

Their response to that charge back was a lame apology. Stating sorry for not following through. My bank accidently did two chargebacks. One for an item I actually did receive and Amy's was calling, leaving voice messages, texts and sending emails all within 5 minutes of each other because they were due money. Otherwise when asking them a simple question about a reimbursement to me they don't even bother to respond. Same situation as the shorts. Long story short as long as you are paying them money they communicate well but if you are no longer paying them money they don't care about you or your questions. Keep the money. Your true colors really shined through.

However, spending 30 minute of a 50 min class in warmups is not okay. Also, children running and screaming rampant throughout the facility both upstairs and downstairs in the waiting/viewing area is annoying! I feel they focus more on the competition cheer side of classes rather than other classes they offer. It feels like anything other than cheer is an after thought. My daughter is in the gymnastics classes and hasn't learned anything new and coaches aren't teaching them proper technique. Our old gym focused on proper form and technique, classes were smaller and/or had two coaches to help students. I don't expect my daughter to be a champion gymnast by any means, but I would like her to learn how to do a cartwheel, a proper handstand, the vault, p-bars etc.
