She obliged. We were visiting from a small town and were blown away by this place. It was incredibly clean. All of the employees were smiling and busy. The produce section was immaculate. We were getting short on time so we didn't get to go to many sections, but the flower shop was great. I'm not vegan but my sister-in-law is and she would love this place. There were tons of options. We walked away hysterically with just over 1 lb. of "scratch M&M cookies" (20-ct for $5.99) and a super cute 5-inch chocolate cake ($14.99). Busy place. I brought my ice packs and cooler just to shop here after a long pulmonology appointment for my daughter on February 17, 2026. I'm learning that the HEB brands are okay in most cases, but their chips and other items have bioengineered (genetically-modified) ingredients that are probably also in other items I buy, but it's disappointing... something to watch since there still isn't much information about the health risks. The staff members stay fairly busy so they don't go out of their way to assist folks, but our cashier was real friendly. The Texas section is one of my favorites. I purchased some plumbing parts that I didnt need and couldnt find the receipt for. I decided to try it and see if they would do store credit. A manager was called to the register named NATHAN. I was so impressed by this young mans character and skill in the handling of this issue that I had to write this. He stated in the exact words: "Let me show this to my manager but I can tell you that they think its important to keep good customers and Ive seen you here before." He went into the office and came back and we matched my bank transactions to the receipts he pulled from the days. He stated that the numbers had to match for bookkeeping reasons! NATHAN was a person that was TRULY working on behalf of his employer using skills and reasoning that matched exactly what was needed to follow policy and retain customers at the same time. This is a rare and exceptional combination of skill. I havent been more impressed in a very long time. Nathan is a jewel! I am an experienced patron and critic and will keep Nathan in mind when training my own future staff. Nathan/Food King Management reading this.. One more big favor.. Please reorder the Blue Bell FRENCH Vanilla Ice cream. I havent seen it on your shelves in a year but I look for it every trip. They have everything you expect from a grocery store and then some. There's a sushi counter, hot food you can order to eat in their seating area, and a Starbucks. Lots of fresh produce, beer and wine, deli, fish and meat market, bakery, flower market, and probably more that I'm missing. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The store stays busy and fast moving. The people walking you out to help load your car are a great unique touch.

They do not carry a huge variety of fresh vegetables but it is sufficient for me. They have the usual fare of Gailan, Bok choy, long beans and others and because of the smaller volume they deal with, they always look fresh and clean. A good business strategy! They seem to rotate and keep their inventory well. The frozen bao and dim sum items do not show freezer burns. Most definitely a grocery stop that I have come to trust the quality of their items!
