Free parking for a venue onsite is always a plus even if it is hours away for me. I've been here to see John Oliver and Alice Cooper. Granted I sat much closer to center for John Oliver rather than the free tickets for charity at the Alice Cooper concert. Even so they don't have a lot of screens for people far away or at weird angles to see clearly. The ushers were moderately helpful in directing us the appropriate seats. I wish the staff were more attentive at monitoring the audience. The entire time for the Alice Cooper concert we had a very annoying guy standing, whooping and hollering incessantly. Thankfully he wasn't directly in our line of sight but hearing his added noise was not appreciated. He was too far away for us to yell "sit down". As it's located in a casino there are other things you can do afterwards to hang around. The con is you still have to walk through the smoky atmosphere. Aside from that it's a decent venue for live performances if you can snag a closer seat. It doesn't feel too overwhelming like an arena at 4,000 person max capacity. read more

My family and I were there last nights for Dancing With The Stars. It was so much fun! The performances were so amazing to watch, so much talent was on that stage I was left in absolute amazement. They really went all out and you can feel the passion in every single performance. The light work was very blinding, that's the only thing I really have to complain about. At certain times the lights would glare at you and literally blind you, so I would try to look at the screen to watch the performance but the lighting for the tv screens were absolutely terrible. You really need to A. invest in better screens or B. make sure before the show goes on that you can actually see the performance on the screens. It was too dark half the time or blurry. if you relied on the screen to watch the show you're shit out of luck. read more

Another great theater at Foxwoods. I have been here many times for different events so I can certainly say the theater is very big, the seats are comfortable, the temperature inside the theater is very comfortable and they have a couple large screens on the sides for viewing. Every time I have been here, I've had ground level seats fairly close to the stage. Though I will say from looking around, I think everyone has a pretty good view of things!! read more

As ghetto as Foxwoods is, I'll still see a show here because that's just what I do. I've been to a handful of shows and I can say yes, the theater is beautiful, the sound is great, drinks are good but their policy seems a little inconsistent if you ask me. So right off the bat they say "no video or pictures" of the event which is totally bogus considering I pay good money to be sitting here its kind of my right as a customer? Haven't they ever heard of pics or it didn't happen? Come on its 2018 give it up.. So anyway when I sneek took ONE picture of 98 degrees the big detective usher comes running over making a big deal that I took a picture. Ok I'm such a rebel wow..whatever. Funny though, last weekend when I was there for Brandy the ENTIRE theater banged like weed..every MF'er in there was smoking yet no one did anything about it!!! Last time I checked no one was getting baked off my picture of a boy band. And the amount of people filming for Brandy was crazy yet I witnessed no one being told not to. So let your customers disrupt my breathing air against my will, allow an illegal drug on your premise that's all good. The bigger issue apparently is an innocent photo for my memories. Gotcha. Next time I'll bring a joint and leave my camera at home. LOL. It just irks me that someone actually reprimanded me for a pic but the pot was ok in their book. Been here a bunch. Not a bad seat in the house. For this past show we were up in the VIP seats of the mezzanine. They are dead center and the seats are leather instead of cloth. They have 2 screens on either side for better viewing but honestly don't need it. When we were there last night (8/13/21) they were at FULL capacity but there are no concessions! Ridiculous-can have 2,000 people on top of each other but can't have a drink. Can not bring in any bags/backpacks and no outside food and beverage. Would love to know the science behind not being able to have a drink at a comedy show but you can have people laughing on the back of your neck... read more

Place is a joke go one week and have a purse checked because it's 1/8" too big for the sign. The next week it's left in the car and people are carrying bigger than the sign purses and the metal detector is going off like a 5 alarm fire and the guy is waving people to come on keep it moving. I have been to several concerts here and the last was for the imagine dragon show on New Year's Eve. The other two times I was there and I had splurged on front row seats because I was seeing my favorite band. On New Year's Eve, tickets were unreasonably expensive so we had to sit at the mezzanine. I was pretty miserable because I'm used to be up front. I honestly did not know the venue even has such a high mezzanine. I found pretty much all of the ushers and security people we dealt with nice and personable. Our sections usher was grabbing people half way through the show and allowing them to sit in better empty seats. We were happy we got to help ourselves to the front of the mezzanine. If you're in the first three rows on the floor they allow you to run to the stage as soon as the show starts. I've seen this at all the shows I attended. The lobby is clean and so are the bathrooms. The sound is decent but it got a little scratchy at times. The tickets are always expensive because it's at a casino. On New Years the prices were astronomically high but that's to be expected. It would be a huge plus if we didn't have to walk through the smoke infested lobby to get to the theatre. read more

I found the staff very friendly and accommodating with the theater. I am wheelchair bound right now and was able to get around well, even with a busy show night/sold out crowd. What a piss poor excuse for a well run venue. Went to see a show there that was supposed to start @7:30. Because of these moronic small bags they required you to store and lock your cell phones in so you can't take them out during the show - it held everything up and show didn't start until 8. Exiting was just as painful (took 20 min) since everyone had to go get their phones unlocked out of these dumb bags. I mean honestly is this what the politically correct and overly nervous new generation is about??? I've never seen such a foolish display of immaturity and absurdity. Grow up. Actually a very good place to see a show. We went on Jerry Seinfeld night, and though our seats were in the upper level, the steep stadium seating and big TVs made us feel like we were sitting much closer. The rows are long.. So get your drinks before you sit because you'll be disturbing a lot of people to get out. Good venue, and the slot machines are a great time passer until concert time (and after..). read more

Last night was the first time I went to MGM Grand. Jason M. and I went to see the immortal Joan Rivers being her usually raunchy self. She was freakin' hilarious. However, her lounge singer opener was a poor man's Barry Manilow, but that fact didn't impact the Yelp score. Luckily the seat were wide and cushy which were perfect for many of the attendees. Parking was easy. Since it was not that big, the navigation was not hard and the shopping was not tempting (in a good way). Bathrooms were well-kept as there was some poor worker always cleaning them. There is a Junior's cheesecake stand; perfect for an after show treat. read more

Most people should get up and dance and enjoy the music. Also, the rows are really long without breaks, so If you are stuck in the middle of a row, good luck getting out if you have to use the restroom or grab a beer. read more

The Grand Theater is a comfortable venue and seems to have good views no matter where you sit. Saw Celtic Woman last night. They sing beautifully and the first few songs were favorites of mine. Loved the bagpipes! I was, however, extremely disappointed with the length of the show. It was less rhan 80 minutes. A very nice theater... in fact, as good as any you're likely to go to for a show. Big but not too big, not too small. Not bad. But the reason it gets 3 stars: twice I've gone to concerts here and BOTH TIMES the shows have started earlier than the time printed on the ticket, which resulted in me and many more missing some of the main acts! For example: Morrissey, 2009. There was an opening act and the main act, with a start time of 8 p.m. I arrived expecting to catch the opening act, but instead, Morrissey himself was on stage at 8, the opener having already played. Many people didn't know this and some missed half his set... the one they paid to see! Nowhere was this made clear. Why does the ticket say 8 p.m. if the show starts earlier? Last weekend: Marilyn Manson + Smashing Pumpkins. Ticketed start time of 7:30pm, and there was an opener. I was having dinner and checked social media to see that at 7:30, Manson himself was already on stage and had started his set! I missed a few songs, some people missed almost his entire set and were befuddled as to what was going on. Apparently the opening act did perform... so when did he go on? 6:30?! Doesn't that screw the opener out of playing for any audience at all? I don't understand why shows at the theater here start earlier than the times on the ticket. It makes no sense and is frankly quite unacceptable, as it often cheats people out of shows they pay high prices for. No other venue does this. Why, Foxwoods? If the ticket says 7:30, start the show at 7:30. What is this nonsense!? Has anyone else had similar experiences? read more

My wife and I attended the Jim Gaffigan show last evening. He is one of our favorite comedians, we have never seen him live, and we had been very much looking forward to it. The theater was nice/comfortable, but we had a major issue with the sound. We were in a side section close to stage, seven rows back, on the right. We both agreed after the show that we had to focus to really catch every word that both Gaffigan and his warm-up comedian were saying. The volume and most importantly, the clarity of the sound was not what you would expect for a show that specifically entertains the audience through words. I wonder if it was just the side section we were in and the way the speakers were configured to project the sound. I'm curious how it sounded in other areas of the theater. We could tell by the laughter that certainly large portions of the audience were hearing it well enough. By the way, we are both in our 50s and have excellent hearing...Very disappointing experience read more
